Masterpiece and art of a fragrance ! Too bad is discontinued… I used to wear it for several years at all time. Very long lasting fragrance with a beutiufl sandalwood, musk and cedar drydown ! By far my number one and always will be… I have a few bottles of it’s little brother Tuscany per uomo, good substitute, but not IT !

This is a nice masculine old school fragrance, and I can say I have it even though is just a 7ml bottle, that I will treasure even when it gets empty.

I spied this hidden in a bottle lot for sale, and bought the lot immediately. This usually sells for upwards of $200 these days, and is gem of many a collection. I think Iconoclast’s review below is dead on. Not surprisingly this smells much like the regular vintage Tuscany, but contrary to what one would think of a Forte version, it is not necessarily stronger. Of course, if you are familiar with the original, you know sllage and longevity were excellent and this does not dissapoint in that department. No, this version seems to focus a little more on the woody aspects, and tones down the sharp lemon and bergamot. I think Iconoclast said “less spiky” and “rounder” and I think those descriptions are apt. I prefer this to the vintage regular version, but because of rarity, reserve it for special occasions. If you thought the original was a little on the sharp side, and wished for a smoother version, your wish came true . Now, you just need to make a wish to find this legend. Gorgeous powdery wood ! Great sandalwood at that!

I was lucky enough to stumble across a full bottle of this rare, classy and distinctive scent earlier this year, and unsurprisingly bought it immediately 🙂
Those who already have the original Tuscany will find this one smells very similar, except I feel the Forte version is not quite as bracing or spiky at the beginning and overall has a ’rounder’ smell, and I prefer Forte for this reason. Longevity and sillage are good at the very least. The bottom line though is that if you already own Tuscany (I mean the vintage one – as I haven’t tried the new one yet), the Forte version is probably too similar to it to add to your collection.
I love it. In fact my only issue with Tuscany (in both versions) is that I sometimes feel it smells too mature for its own good so I typically keep it for formal wear or serious occasions only – in which case it usually faces stiff competition from Davidoff for Men and Zino in my cache.
