Description

“With Tundra, an exquisitely woody floral, the fine fragrance range Provenance Tales explores a wild and fierce landscape – the Enchanted Garden version of a strikingly exotic, strange, cold and windy northern landscape that is full of life.

Rouge Bunny Rouge Founder and Creative Director Alexandra de Montfort has set out to capture the beauty of the short arctic springtime as winter surrenders to the sharp greens, the pale lichen, the vibrant red berries and the majestic wildlife – to tell the Provenance Tale of Tundra. Perfumer Nathalie Lorson (Firmenich) has created a harmony of intense woods and fresh spices to recreate the intensity of this brief arctic spring in a captivating fragrant melody.

Tundra evolves around the luxurious notes of Cedarwood, magically lightened up with spicy, sweet, green and tangy harmonies.

A pleasantly bitter opening of Bergamot, Pink Pepper, Laurel Leaves and Juniper evokes the excitingly fresh air of the first day of spring – when the wind carries the promise of spring and the green scent of wet bark gives away that Nature is more than ready to wake up in a boost of blooms and shoots.

Inspired by the Flora and Fauna responding to the longingly awaited rays of sun with an exiting abundance of life, TUNDRA develops into a fresh and vibrant heart of spicy Nutmeg, sharp and green Elemi, subtle notes of Patchouli and a hint of powdery Violet.

And finally, as it dries down to the rich carnal embrace of Moss, Musk and Vetiver, Tundra reveals itself as a mystical song of life.

Subtly fresh and enticingly warm in its longevity, Tundra is a luxurious artisanal fragrance that captures the persistence of nature.

For free spirited, elegant women and men” — press release of the brand. Tundra was launched in 2014.

I really like this one…gorgeous woody notes swirled with resins…the spiciness fades fast into a soft, comfortable blanket of cedar and elemi…I find the longevity to be good on this…worth seeking out if you love woody fragrances…

I get a charred smoky vibe. Performance is noticeably below average, I over sprayed and am only getting faint whiffs. There are synthetic smelling notes like in a Comme des Garçons woody scent.
IMHO this is a clone of Monsieur Pierre Guillaume for men, I think they use the same aroma chemical for the burnt wood note. I’m smelling them side by side and I think they are too close to even be flankers of each other!

I think the first review pretty much nails it, however I think Bang! is spicy with pepper and actually has more of an edge. To say this doesn’t last as long as Bang! a notoriously poor performer is really making a statement and I can’t say I would disagree.
This is not to say I don’t like the smell of Tundra, it has a fantastic opening of fresh and vibrant elemi, greeness and slightly smokey cedar/vetiver combo. It has that uplifting (I often describe as ‘fizzy’) vibe you get from elemi which is like olibanum and fresh juniper/gin & tonic. Unfortunately it suffers the same problem as the 3% elemi dilution tester I got…it doesn’t last. What you are left with is a very weak but pleasant cedar aroma. What I do like is that it develops past being just another incense fragrance into something woodier and generally a good ensemble of notes.
Nothing high original but not bad stuff.

    Elemi + Fresh Cedarwood Shavings
Inspired by the smells in a forest somewhere close to Arctic circle, Tundra is a dry woody blend with a focus on cedarwood. Elemi, since it smells a lot like cedar helps to enhance this note.

It has a coolness to it that isn’t very common in mainstream perfumes. By that, I mean, it has almost an icy-hot effect from the mint. I don’t mean that as a negative criticism at all. It has a rich, interesting smell of moss and patchouli. The coolness brings out interesting aspects of the notes. It isn’t too unnecessarily aggressive, but it isn’t a shy, clean, “office safe” scent either. This would be an awesome signature scent for an intelligent introvert. It is curious and intriguing while still having a little bit of … stand back, I do my own thing.
