The citrus is very clear in this-the initial burst is sharp bittersweet zest like peeling a fresh grapefruit. It’s very tangy, almost sour, but refreshing and light. It’s almost like a fizzy tart grapefruit cocktail with an underlying slight sourness like Angostura bitters. On me, I get far more citrus fruit than floral, and the rose and amber don’t get a look in. In the drydown there is a sort of salty driftwood note, dry and light. It’s not a particularly complex fragrance and it has no staying power-about 40 minutes on me, but its a lovely refreshing holiday fizz.

This smells like celery dusted with fenugreek powder, a juxtaposition of cold, green, watery, crisp notes against a base of dry, warm, spice and indistinct woodiness. The notes here don’t really correlate with what I’m perceiving at all. Mate might explain the fenugreek/immortelle association I’m getting, but I wouldn’t expect mango to remind me of celery, and I don’t pick up rose either.
Anyway, it’s unusual and gives of a cosy, homely, bucolic vibe, like a sunlit kitchen.
