My hunt continues for a tuberose fragrance. Profumum’s Tuberosa is beautiful, light and cleanly floral–appropriate for all times and seasons, even an office. For whatever reason, this will not stay on my skin. I am pretty bummed (and also grateful that I only purchased a small decant!). The quality is spectacular and I look forward to trying a few more from this house.

After hundreds of perfumes over the past few years, this is the only one my husband actually LOVES. Can’t recommend something to me more than that

This smells remarkably like Fracas. So uncanny was the resemblance, I’m actually doing a side by side testing of both right now. Fracas on my left, Profumum’s Tuberosa on my right. Both on the back of my hand. Happy to report definitively on the similarities. I’m snorting back and forth and to be honest, I’ll be hard-pressed to describe any differences.
Tuberosa seems to be a slightly more saturated version of the white flower. Meaning after snorting Fracas, I can still perceive the scent of Profumum’s tuberose rather strongly. If I smell Tuberosa first, Fracas comes away looking wan and yields a more watery wet and green facet. But only just!
I’ve heard that Carnal Flower is even more green and friendly than Fracas. (I’ve reviewed CF but not done a side by side to attest to this) So depending on how saturated and psychedelic you want your tuberose to be, you may choose along this continuum. Tuberosa is like flashing lightbulbs in a burlesque salon, overwhelming and exciting your passions with a surfeit of titillating stimulation. Til you cry for mercy and stumble out gasping for air and respite. But only for a while before you’re drawn back into the den of wickedness, imploring for another tuberose slap across your face. Fracas? She looks like a perfect lady amidst all this carnage. But, remember, only just! She too will hitch her skirts up and break out into a cancan without warning.
Note: My bottle of Fracas is the modern formulation, not the vintage

Big white floral lives right here. Tuberose is most prominent with a nice balance of gardenia and jasmine to support.
Somehow this combination of tuberose and gardenia throws a bit of a bubblegum vibe in the opening. In the drydown there is a bit of a dirty facet that feels like a touch of scratchy styrax… which tends to turn into vinyl on me. I’m discovering that styrax is used a lot in tuberose perfumes in an attempt to deliver a camphorous or indolic guise. Not bad, pretty even, but I feel it is a straight up floral with some synthetic (styrene) qualities.

What you see listed is what you get. No surprises here. It’s a lovely slightly skanky tuberose with the smallest of blue cheese on first application. As it dries the other white florals are evident but not stronger than the tuberose. It’s very creamy and white but it’s got a slightly spicy feel due to the jasmine. The longer it’s on the skin, the fleshier it gets. Not a tuberose for beginners but lovers of big bold, fleshy, animalic tuberose will probably love it.

Glorious bold and nonchalant white flower delirium. Sweet and creamy, it isn’t only about tuberose. Just for white flower addicts. Expensive but long lasting and with big sillage, use with caution. I find it too strong for summer.

Straight creamy, strong, beautiful tuberose. I accidentally threw out the spray top for my bottle (d’oh) so I’m dabbing it all over – I think its actually getting stronger over time (this also happened to me with Guerlain Spiritueuse Double Vanille.) If you love florals, give this a try and you won’t be disappointed. Its the best tuberose I’ve ever smelled and certainly worth the cost. Appropriate for all seasons and day/night although I would definitely say be lighthanded during warmer months or during the day.

Very floral, which I like but if you aren’t fond of them this will not be for you. Excellent sillage and longevity. I’d grade this one an A+ for a scent in the floral category.

    Scent – tuberose & gardenia.
Season/Time of Day – I prefer to use this one in the warmer months, day or night.
    Projection – I didn’t get noticed, I didn’t get a compliment.
    Longevity – I get 6hrs consistently.

As a man who either loves heavy, dirty animalics or pure florals I am always thrilled to see a floral sold as being a shared perfume because unlike me, who have absolutely no reservations on wearing perfume I like regardless of whether it is being sold as a men’s, women’s, shared or meant to put on dogs, there are a lot of men who might love to wear a pure floral but would refrain from wearing it because of it being sold as a lady’s perfume, so Profumum Roma gets a gold star in my book for recognizing that there are plenty of us men out there with enough class and style who are not feminine and can easily pull off a gardenia, tuberose, jasmine floral. It also just so happens that tuberose is one of my favorite flowers both to wear and to grow in my garden. I also grow gardenia jasmoides in my greenhouse and I am intimately familiar with its exact smell as well. From many of the reviews I read on this site it is clear that many members are truly sadly unfamiliar with the true smell of living tuberose and gardenia. For example, by the votes many have voted that they spell tuberose dominating over gardenia when this is the other way around. Even though tuberose is featured in the the name, this is really more of a gardenia perfume than tuberose. Tuberose has natural wintergreen (salicylate) and camphor facets to its scent profile and gardenia lacks these but instead has a citrus facet which is far clearer in this perfume where the camphor and salicylate notes are largely absent. I am not sure exactly where the jasmine is doing but I’m sure it’s doing something to round off and create a richer scent profile. But really this is a great and powerful white floral heavy on the gardenia and light on the tuberose. It goes on strong, sweet and heavy and like the flowers in it, it projects its intoxicatingly sweet and mesmerizing perfume to all in the immediate area. This perfume has quite above average sillage. This is not one you are going to wear and not have anyone know you are wearing a great, classy perfume. It also lasts many hours. You definitely get a good 6- 7 hours from one application so it may be a little pricey but a little bit does go a long way. For any gardenia or tuberose lover or lover of white florals in general this is one perfumer you cannot have missing from your wardrobe as I will always have it at hand.

Fracas amplified. Heady white flowers, showy and flashy on Italian platinum blonde with a sun-tan overly scented way. Embodies warm summer nights. Want.

Honey creamy bouquet of white flowers. Intoxicating, yes, changes over time in the sound, then becoming stuffy, the transparent and juicy. 100ml? That’s enough to turn it into a testament grandchildren)) 1 spray to create a sensual aura. 2-3 spray fragrance can make vulgar and flashy.

This is a really really well formulated creamy tuberose. The quality of ingredient is upscaled.
The notes are in harmony with each smooth pitch Tuberosa sings.
I want this one. Its not easy to find. It is close to Fracas but not identical. If you love tuberosa this is definatly a safe blind buy and/or a MUST TRY!
When the heart and base of a perfume smells so nice you know it is amazing. And Amazing is Profumum TUBEROSA.
I have tried this over a period of time in comparison to the top Tuberose fragrance lines. Very careful and patient nit picking comparisons. This is something really glamorous.

This is a super loud tuberose of the creamy kind. I find it similar in scent to Fracas and if possible, more flamboyant. I’ve been wearing this over six hours now and it’s going on as strong as when first sprayed on. One of those scents that you won’t have to top up in the day, for sure. Scent-wise, this is pretty much tuberose, tuberose, tuberose on me. Incessant and effusive, I am almost getting a headache from it, as much as I enjoy tuberose and lavishness. Definitely for big fat white florals/dominant tuberose lovers only. Even then, I am not sure that one needs a 100ml of this when one spray is more than enough and two sprays over the top. For those who have more sensitive noses, beware. This hits you hard.

A grapey, white floral melange that ends in an animalic base. Sweet, heady, and bold. Not for the faint of heart.

I agree with Aur-ha-kadosh. The dry down is kind of animalic and barely reminds me of the initial blast. Anyway please do not compare this to carnal flower…it’s so misleading! CF is fresh, green, esoteric and real! This is one is fancy, but not even close to the naturalness of CF. Sillage great on clothes and very upfront at the beginning. After 6 hours it is just so much more subtle and creamy. Oily perfume too, it stained my jacket. I want to love it. We’ll see if he’s my babe.
EDIT: gosh, it gave me the worst skin rush ever! I guess it is not meant to be!

Nutmeg… and lemons? Otherwise, this a great big heady floral- and definitely a one-spray-in-the-air-and-walk-through-naked for best effect; I think it would be overwhelming, otherwise. But, ah! So lovely to catch a whiff on the breeze!

Chickenpotpie is spot on, this is intense heady tuberose with more than a hint of what smells like honeysuckle. It really does smell like you’ve stuck your nose in a bunch of white flowers but this scent is not for me.
Update after trying this again: I’m still not a white floral fan but this is a well done tuberose, creamy not too indolic and lucky I don’t get much jasmine as I’m not a fan at all. I can like it, I’m just not sure when or where I’d wear this. I’m more a gourmand fan and still feel this is not quite me, although it’s lively for what it is.

If I had to choose between this and carnal flower, I would choose CF because of how well rounded it is compared to this juice.
This particular tuberose is quite beautiful, but I detect some nasal harshness that seems to be coming from a bit too much jasmine added to the mix. Thats something I really don’t like about it.
There’s definitely something very sweet along with these two flowers, I’d almost say honeysuckle as that what it smells like to me.
I think that this perfume will suite some people very well, especially a young woman. I can see this also being a very fun summer scent as it has that lovely airy/flighty quality about it.
I happen to love tuberose and have yet to find one I don’t like, but this is one I like a bit less than others.
So for me, not a buy, but I’m glad I got to smell it.

this tuberose is really fantastic in the beggining, very creamy and sensual, very milky depart but soon it begins to redish, and becomes more and more vulgaire and provocative, i dont like those kind of tuberoses, lusty and sexual, more the time pass more i hate this, in the end it becomes very resinous and sticky sirupy animalic scent, very far from the fresh and joyfull spring nocturnal tuberose i love usually this one is not for me, i am too serious and spiritual to wear this !

This is the first time I tried tuberose. It is like smelling flowers in front of your nose. so elegant, creamy, loved it!
    only for ladies:)

They say that this is as close as it gets to breathing in the real tuberose. I do not have experiences with this flower – and I have never really thought that I would like straight florals (tried this just out of curiosity) – so I don’t know. What I do know is that like most Profumum fragrances, it is very, very attractive, masterfully projecting a sense of excellence. Heady, intoxicating, warm, creamy, feminine…and…could flowers be a bit dangerous? 🙂
