Description

Chanel describes Allure as: “Difficult to define, impossible to resist. Clean and sheer, warm and sexy, ALLURE is a floral, fresh Oriental fragrance that finds an expression unique to each woman. Because every woman has her own special allure.” And on the composition : “Sparkling notes of Mandarin combine with the softness of May Rose and the sensuality of Vanilla. The Eau de Parfum — closest in strength and character to the Parfum form — features an intoxicating Passion Fruit note with a Peony accord and a warmer Oriental facet.”

Allure eau de parfum was launched in 1999. The nose behind this fragrance is Jacques Polge.

Wow, I love this! This is a good perfume for sure.

Allure EDP is my signature scent.
It is my be-all and end-all fragrance. It gives me deep satisfaction to finally have found “The One”. It feels belittling to say it’s part of my collection, as if it is a piece of something bigger. Because for me, Allure could stand alone. I would be happy if this is the only perfume I had. PERIOD.

I never get tired of this scent, and if I could only own one fragrance, it would be Allure EDP . I sigh every time I smell the scent come out of the bottle because the richness of the EDP is unlike my other fragrances . It is to my nose a rich amber. I do not smell citrus or flowers in the EDP .While it is a rich scent, it is not at all loud , nor is it sweet or sugared .
I see Allure ( EDP) as an elegant and understated fragrance that will never go out of style . I love the smoothness of the amber . I wish it were less expensive , but at least it smells expensive !
My mother loved it as much as I do , and would balk at wearing anything less.

I could only wish that other houses make perfumes with peach note the way Chanel has done. I can’t wear most of serious releases from this house but I always love how they have incorporated fruit notes and patchouli in their fragrances. I tried 95% of everything from Chanel, but unfortunately the only line that I can truly enjoy is the Coco Mademoiselle line.

Ladies, as a guy, who is a die hard believer that this scent is the epitome of refined seduction, class and elegance and no, I surely do not mind wearing it either!
The color of the juice inside the bottle and the packaging reminds me of a honey coloured Burberry trench- the Sandringham, pictured me strolling in rainy weather, not forgetting ,my scarf wrapping me in sheer luxury….to die for!
The warmth in this evokes something carnal, like warm skin, aroused skin, to be honest ….it truly is difficult to define indeed! The vanilla note is divine, just enough to entice…in a very cunning, classy way. My only surprise is, sadly, for no reason known to me, the first few minutes after spraying only two squirts, I suddenly start sneezing….Is it only me or is there anyone who can relate? I can already picture some here thinking “it serves him right, hands off of frags”- * dead by laughter!

Unpopular opinion: this is a pass for me. Yes, it’s Chanel. It was my first designer fragrance. And I’m really glad I’m saying that in the past tense. Dior’s Addict is what I had wished Allure to be. The citruses here get in the way of the vanilla and I always felt Allure didn’t know what it wanted to be – a winter or summer fragrance. It’s stuck somewhere in the middle having an identity crisis, and since I’m not a fan of citric perfumes in general I’ll stick to the many other beautiful vanillas out there.

I find this quite similar to Dune, especially in the first 30 minutes. I can’t really point out which note it is, but it smells like Dune mixes with body lotion or something like that. I totally prefer Dune, it is clearer to my nose… There is something in allure that doesn’t make it special to me.

This is my best and all time fav and signature! For years! This is definitely the one I often pick in preference to my other fragrances. If I had to leave home asap this is probably the one I’ld choose! I usually like to wear this in Winter and/or Autumn! It is delightful! Not too sweet, sexy, Not too mainstream, not too earthy, not too loud! Not too soft! Not too anything really just balanced IMHO to perfection! And also very versatile! I couldn’t imagine being without!
Hubby always gifts this or Chance to me for my birthday! This is a warm floral oriental beauty! Love-<3Magnolia, vanilla, peachy, mandarines and May rose ,cedar and peony so gorgeous, Feminine and classy.

I’ve owned this for a few years. Essentially I get peaches, vanilla and cedar, all in perfect harmony. I don’t notice much citrus in the opening. Allure reminds me of other 90s fruity florals but of course, coming from Chanel, it is beautifully done and the formula has not been cheapened.
Allure’s sweet notes are balanced by the austerity of the cedar, but nevertheless I find it (the EDP; I have not tried the EDT) rather dense in texture, and a tad sweet for my taste. It works best in cooler weather, and I have to be in the mood for it. When I am, Allure is just delightful.

So I have a plate of kind of sour, not too sweet peaches in front of me, and I’m wearing Allure EDP so I guess it’s time to do a review.
A few years ago I went into an obsession about finding the perfect candy-peach scent and Allure EDP was one of the finalists that made it home with me besides Chloe Narcisse, D&G The One, V&R Bonbon etc. Allure EDP is NOT a candy-peach smell at all but i must have liked it enough at that moment to just go ahead and buy it anyway. Unfortunately, it has been pretty neglected and I only remembered to put in on now because, well, you know, I’m having that weird urge to rub a slice of peach on my pulse points because it smells so good and that’s a bit WEIRD even for a frag-head so…
Allure EDP does smell VERY peachy, though like a perfumer’s reinterpretation of a peach. THe vanilla makes it more creamy and cushiony but it’s still a bright and energetic scent. I see a woman who works in an office, maybe a doctor or a lawyer who knows nothing about perfumes wearing this. It’s Chanel, so she figures it must be good, and it’s way less intimidating than No 5, Coco and the other big-girl Chanels and more grown-up than the Chances, that pale pink Mademoiselle and Lily Depp endorsed #5 L’eau… and it’s still Chanel! I think this must literally be the safest scent a professional lady clueless about fragrances can buy and still have it smell amazing to the point where people who actually know about perfume like it too.
Me? I’m changing the spot of this perfume on my counter because I’ll be reaching for it a lot more often from now on. I guess it really shines in the summer, I must have found it pretty boring to be hiding it way in the back all these years…
I’ll tell all of you, go re-check your ignored perfumes in different seasons and temperatures, some of them really smell better at different times of the year! I feel like I have a brand new toy!

My husband and daughter agreed that it has a rich orangy jammy smell yummy.

Just like 212 vip for women…..this chanel treasure fits my chemistry like 100%… its very long wearing and the sillage is heavy….you can surely turn heads around whenever you arrive if this is your choice..its perfect for malaysia’s climate…theres something about chanel line that i really like…the patchouli….maybe…but it evokes a scent that is unique and so memorable…9/10

I didn’t mean to buy it. But something came over me.
I was at the department store today picking up a gift for my mother’s birthday when I remembered: I want to sample Allure.
Walking to the Chanel counter, I imagined asking the salesperson to make me a sample so I could wear it on my skin for a few days and see how things react with my chemistry. What happened instead? They were out of sample atomizers. So I, a self-proclaimed perfume addict, decided the most logical and rational decision when in this situation is to just purchase a 100ml bottle. You know, what everyone does when faced with this challenge (please tell me you’re catching the sarcasm).
When I sprayed the bottle on my wrist at the counter I immediately smelled a fizzy citrus scent. Not too fresh and certainly not too sharp. Just fuzzy in all the right ways. My nose really couldn’t determine what the scent would be, but I was curious to see it through. It actually reminded me in a way how I feel about the first 5 minutes of Eau Premiere. Fizzy, fuzzy and definitely interesting.
Now, nearly 5 hours later, I no longer smell any fizz or any citrus. It’s all vanilla and white florals – like expensive soap with a little OOMPH. Very classy and definitely a head turner.
I also sniff an underlying layer of amber, but not too much as this scent is not too “dirty” or “earthy”. Allure is the fragrance I’d want to wear squeaky clean out of a shower, hair freshly blown out, skin scrubbed and lotioned up. This is “I have my sh*t together” in a bottle. I want to try the flanker now.

Love at the first spray… it is the best fragrance create day Chanel IMO, it is sweet, I can detect mandarin and vanilla, it has a good longebity and the projection very very addictive, it will be the next for me!!!

Based on the enormous number of positive reviews and the mentions that this is a perfect vanilla fragrance, I was convinced this would be a perfect match. And yes, I like it. On me, it is a soft flowery fresh vanilla. It is nice, and it indeed reminds me a lot of the spa bodymilk line by Dove, as someone mentioned below. But I feel like I just cannot make this work: I am convinced that all these positive revuews are not based on a bodymilk-experience and just ‘nice’, there must be more to this perfume than I experience. Will keep it in my cupboard to be rediscovered after a while, hoping to be able to do the fume justice by then…
Edit: I recently bought No. 5 L’Eau and the vanilla note reminds me of Allure. L’Eau seems to work way better on my skin, so I sold Allure to someone who can do it more justice than me…

Ok I have been on the hunt for a perfect oriental Vanilla fragrance and this is absolutely it! It has everything, cozy stunning vanilla, that ripe peach and some citrus tones to add a little spice and zest plus some florals to add feminity. This has amazing lasting power and its strong! This is classy and coziness in a bottle! I get nothing but compliments when I wear this beauty! Today I am getting a 100 ml bottle for my birthday present! So happy to have Allure in my collection, it is a must!!!

Actress Priscilla Presley wears this Chanel fragrance. I saw her at the LAX airport 2 years ago and asked her for her autograph and took a photograph with her. She was very sweet and chatted with me a few minutes. She smelled wonderful. I told Priscilla I loved her perfume and asked which fragrance it was. She said it was Chanel Allure. I bought it immediately after that! I love it.

I bought Allure EDP in the 35ml bottle as my first Chanel perfume and I fell in love!! The initial spray was a little off putting due to the strong note of bergamot but then the dry down gives off the beautiful magnolia note with musk and peony. Similar to Jo Malone’s Peony and Blush Suede due to the peony notes but more softer and sweeter. This is definitely my scent for the cooler months both day and night. I have tested Chanel No. 5 but it was too strong for my liking and Allure is a better choice. Definitely recommended!!

I got this few years ago, I remember I was in love with this, was a must-have. Realizing I still have more than 25 unopen perfume bottles. I need to start using it.
I felt sick the first day I use it, not sure if I spray too much or what, seem heavy. I the force myself to use it few more times coz I have 100 ml to go through ( now I won’t buy 100 ml anymore ) Anyway, I now just spray it on back of my neck.
this perfume doesn’t give me any characters is smell a bit commercial to me now. Is a pretty Floral, but doesn’t make me feel pretty or attractive.

Allure possesses an aura of strong familiarity to me, yet I can’t quite place why. That being said, I can understand why this isn’t as successful or popular as other Chanel releases; it’s a non-distinctive, pretty citric woody vanilla in the same vein as quite a few 1999-2000s releases.
Allure is dominated by bright orange, sparkling magnolia & jasmine, a peach-vanilla accord reminiscent of Burberry Classic, and soft woods. Its blend of notes are beautifully balanced, accentuating each other and harmonising beautifully. The result is pleasant and sophisticated, yet forgettable. I picture this on a 35+ upper-middle class suburban mother who has her sh*t together and probably runs the PTA.

I bought this as a gift for my mother long ago, so as a result have avoided wearing it..
But I can’t stop trying it on at perfume counters, it’s so full-bodied and feminine
    The dry down is gorgeous!
    Im buying this for myself

The perfume I used in high school, but i do not think it is young girl perfume. It is so powerful that everyone on your side can take the smell. I get a scent of orange, vanilla and jasmine.

First impression: luxurious sunscreen. I like it but I am not in love. I like the cedar note. Summer scent in my opinion.

This fragrance is probably the least popular female marketed Chanel. I’m not sure why… it’s worlds better than some of their others. Gabrielle and Coco Noir, I’m looking at you two… not that they’re bad, but Allure EDP & EDT are both better. Allure easily performs the best out of all the Chanel’s too.
It opens citrusy, Fruity and admittedly not my favorite. That drydown though! Ugh… it’s absolutely to die for. Very creamy, a little sweet but never sugary. It’s a bit hard to articulate. My husband loves it on me as do my oldest sons. So men seem to find it nice. I don’t think men find it quite as nice as the comically exaggerated 90’s Chanel Allure Commercial w/ the caged business men (you have to watch it if you haven’t, it’s hilarious and I actually think it’s linked up above by the ad photos) but it does seem to have been made with men’s preferences in mind. The commercial only further reinforces that’s what Chanel was going for… A woman’s fragrance intended to entice men. Smells a lot different on skin than on a card. On the card it never really developed.
This stuff goes the distance. It lasts like 8-12 hours with two sprays, it’s sexy and sophisticated, which is a delicate balance that Chanel does very, very well. You get the same balance of sexy & sophistication in Coco. Not that they smell alike because they absolutely do not, just that they share that ability to be super sexy without sacrificing Class. Allure leaves a lovely little memory trail And wafts as you move about, but it isn’t obnoxious if you don’t over apply it. It’s damn near perfection. Yet another Chanel in my collection that I bought on a trip to the department store specifically for another fragrance… I went for Lancôme Poeme and left with a 3.4 oz of this also. Chanel seems to be really good at getting me to drop that extra $135 I wasn’t planning on spending. lol

Can’t believe how much in love I am with this fragrance! It’s so warm and sensual, and the citruses in the opening are lovely and not at all synthetic like with so many other perfumes out there. So happy I got a 35 ml bottle that is easy to carry in my bag and spritz it on my wrist whenever I feel like smelling this beauty. This fruity-floral is very well balanced between fruits and florals and dries down to the most gorgeous vanilla.

Forgot how headache inducing this fragrance is for me. Tried it when it was just released, and I am a sort of wick for this fragrance. A friend told me never ever to wear this perfume again, because people were fainting behind my back, that strong is the sillage it gets on my skin. Am I the only one who has this with allure? I recently bought an empty bottle just for the cap (I own a tester with 35 ml pure perfume of chanel no 19, without a cap, and the shape of the bottle is exactly the same as the allure 35ml. So swap the cap et voilà). There was just a little bit left in the bottle so I tried it on my arm. OMG. That was the reason I never tried it since the first time. Having a headache now. Thick sweetness.

  28. :

I was so disappointed with this perfume and that has never happened with a Chanel creation before. I guess orange blossom isn’t for me, much like cherry blossom. It hits my sinuses and my face morphs into an expression not unlike the gif of the baby tasting lemon for the first time. I waited a half hour just to be sure, then hopped into the shower. Maybe the eau de toilette isn’t as sharp?

  29. :

    3 out of 5

I must hate peaches because they are all I can smell in this and it gives me major “nose hair burn” and a headache. I used to kinda like this, as it was pretty and sophisticated. Now, not so much. It smells too sweet and just too sharp, I don’t know. I’ll be selling my bottle on ebay then. If you’re interested in purchasing this or swapping, please let me know.

Warm, sensual, elegant, feminine beauty. Classy and timeless. I just wish it lasted a little bit longer on my skin.

  31. :

    3 out of 5

This is vastly different from the other Allure. I thought they would be similar but the other one is much fresher, floral, light and frankly, better IMO. There’s a strange mix of what is referred to as ” baby doll head” and synthetic vanilla. I found it unsettling and my son didnt like it. I thought it would mellow out but the longer I wore it the odder it got. Not for me. If I want an odd somewhat plasticky scent Shalimar is my choice( I love that one).

  32. :

I first bought it almost 20 years ago when I was young and everything seemed perfect because it was the 90s. I loved it then and I love it now. Call it a sentimental journey or going down the memory line, for me it’s all this plus perfection in s bottle.
And the male version is equally good ❤️

Migraine inducing on me, as is anything peach.

  35. :

This fragrance has Jacques Polge’s name written all over it. It sits somewhere between Polge’s No. 5 EDP and Coco Mademoiselle. It is sweeter than No. 5, courtesy of a really prominent fuzzy synthetic peach, but they do share their DNA (vanilla, jasmine, rose, orange blossom/neroli, vetiver). These are enhanced with Mademoiselle’s trademark mandarin orange. If it weren’t for that peach (god, I really hate that note!), I would totally enjoy this scent; alas, just like another Chanel pillar, Christalle, the peach really ruins Allure for me. Pity.

  36. :

    4 out of 5

This is an appealing, good quality, creamy and sweet fragrance. It reminds me of the very best creme brulee I ever had.
It has no spices or noticeable woods, making it approachable for a wide range of tastes and situations. It’s sweet, feminine and very smooth.
The only problem is extremely poor longevity on me. Unlike most of the Longevity ratings on this page, Allure very predictably all but disappears on me by the two hour mark. If not for that, I’d like to have a decant of this in my collection.

  37. :

This was the first Chanel I ever bought and I love it! For me, this is a good day in a bottle. That day you wake up and realize you’ve lost 5 pounds, the kids are making their own breakfast and your husband is washing the dishes. Ok..maybe I went a bit overboard…maybe not? It is that good! 😉

  38. :

I’ve loved Allure since its inception. It’s a wonderful fragrance from Chanel and it never fails to get lots of compliments. Thankfully, I don’t get much vanilla but detect some lovely citrus floral and woods. Lasts forever and has way above average silage. Delightful!

  40. :

    3 out of 5

I really do not like this fragrance. It is a very strong spicy vanilla on my skin, which right away makes me think of liquor. I can understand why that appeals to some people, and why it might be considered “sexy”. But it’s just so aggressive on my nose, I feel you’d have to really love it to wear it all the time because it will be all you smell all day long.
This is the perfume I imagine French ladies of the night wore centuries ago.

  41. :

    5 out of 5

Allure well … One of the first Chanels perfum I really like. Super-good longevity 10 / 12h.
At first the flowers, then the more deep vanilla, oriental, after 2 hours does not weaken, but the vanilla changes, just delight … It must be a mix of water lily, mandarin, magnolia and freesia. Citrus is more in its early stages.
Beautiful smell, probably originated first, then edp and other versions.
Class and classic. I understand why its so long on the market, it always will be. I will even go into words better than the No 5.

  42. :

    4 out of 5

What, no pepper? Whatsoever? I really have a peppery feel from that one (black pepper), along with flowers, a hint of vanilla and pencil shavings (which I love). It smells chic, expensive and distinctive.

  43. :

    3 out of 5

The classification of the fragrance is totally wrong in my opinion, no way it’s an oriental vanilla. Despite that I like it very very much; this has to be the first perfume from Chanel that became a wrist crack the day of testing. And that rings a bell to me.
Basically it’s a fruity floral that is distinct from others and that doesn’t lean towards the gourmand side, despite the presence of peach and vanilla. Maybe they are not completely peach and a clear vanilla. An aromatic and not juicy peach with a citrusy facet and then some soft balmy vanilla, smoothening for the most part.
Up until now the scent is not alluring for me, but a very pretty and lovely scent. Reminds me of home and it smells familiar, maybe mom has been wearing either Allure or something similar.
Wait for it, my favorite part is after the fruity part, where magnolia is the most prominent with the rose and the jasmine. We are talking about a metallic twist in the scent, cold, distant, having a bloody feel. Maybe now it’s jasmine and peach. Whatever the drydown is, and if it ever exists because of the notes alternating vividly, I’m a total sucker for it.

Several years ago I found myself becoming obsessed with the Chanel counter at my local department store. Loved sampling the perfumes and makeup. I wanted to treat myself to a bottle of Chanel perfume, but never got the courage to because I always played it safe when it came to scents. I felt that Chanel may be too grown up for me. Allure captured my attention from the start! It was sexy and the vanilla-like dry down was comforting. I ended up being gifted an Allure set and soon was the only perfume that I wore. Over time though I moved on to other fragrances. Seeing it on here again I want to buy a bottle soon!

She bears the right name, she is indeed really alluring. So well blended and beautiful. A classy lady with a young vibe.
I receive tons of compliments when wearing Allure, mainly from other women. It is a really a divine scent.

I have a sample of this, and it is just beautiful. Sweet and pure nostalgia. Reminds me of a lush bubblebath. The scent of pink lady apples permeates also– even thought this is not listed in the list of “ingredients”. Love this. Would love a full bottle.

I agree with eren.ceylan’s comment “for elite ladies.” Perfumes shouldn’t be restricted to certain age groups, but it smells like something wealthier women wear. I can’t imagine anyone thinking your perfume is sickly sweet and too girly if you’re wearing this.
Allure is velvety smooth and warm.

  49. :

    3 out of 5

Apart from Coromandel this one is one of the most attractive, modern and classiest fragrance for elite ladies.
Whenever I sniffed that juice, admiringly tracing scent source…
I guess this scent require to be some maturity but any women who over the age of 20 can easily wear.

Oh my god, this is pure elegance!
This is my first choice for special occasions like weddings, operas etc.
I’ve been using it for years now and it hasn’t lost its magic yet. It’s so feminine, sexy (but in a very graceful way), sophisticated!
For me, it’s not a scent I would wear every day. It deserves to be chosen wisely to keep its charm, its fascination.

I recently purchased this as EDP from my local pharmacy at half the regular price (who could resist?) as it was their last bottle before the new stock came in. It was a leap of faith as they had no tester left and I just went by the notes listed here.
On my skin it opens with mellow peach vanilla followed by a prominent, but not offensive, cedar note. I tend to avoid fragrances with cedar as this note becomes high pitched with my skin chemistry (think D&G Light Blue). In Allure however the cedar note adds a bit an austere grown up feeling to the overall cozy, slightly gourmand composition. I don’t get much in the way of florals though. I shall enjoy wearing it on cooler days and evenings but not sure it could ever become my signature fragrance!

I love the EdT, and until recently thought I was not into the EdP. I thought the EdP was too much, too syrupy and sweet-tart. Too intense.
Well, I was wrong. They are both lovely. I am happy to eat my words!
The EdP seems to be made for cold weather. I am looking forward to using up a decant and then hopefully a bottle someday!
(Keeping this vague because so many ladies have left more detailed, wonderful reviews!)

  53. :

    4 out of 5

Allure EdP is so 90’s, not as timeless as other Chanels. Smells a bit dated to my nowadays nose though it will keep its honest lovers I am sure.

  54. :

This fragrance should be given 5 stars if it was possible to rate fragrances on fragrantica. Allure is really a magnificent scent. It is really hard to describe and resist. one does not really know what note stands out and has the most presence. This fragrance is very warm and sexy. It is perfect to use everyday, as it essence is confident and in control of oneself. It smells as comforting as a cashmere scarf wrapped around your neck.
Hands down Allure is one of the best perfumes, with top longevity and silage. Two spritz behind your ear is more than enough and it will last all day. I sprayed this perfume at 11:00 am and it is currently 01:00 am in the night. Even after a shower this perfume is still going strong.
I love my beloved No 5, Coco, Mademoiselle and Chance but Allure is really giving them a run for their money. x

This is a lovely, makeup-powder vanilla/peach scent with a hint of floral backing. I think I smell that classic Chanel patchouli as well, even though it isn’t listed in the notes pyramid. It’s very sophisticated and warm, a nice winter scent for those of us who don’t like to go too heavy. I’m 22 at the moment and Allure reminds me of myself at age 30…confident and womanly!

    I cant really describe this perfume;
I cant detect vanilla like kenzo amour

It reminds me of kera knightly wearing a green dress with short black hair…
It has a chanel vibe;everything is blended so well that you dont want to think about the notes you wanna smell smell and smell

I’m so disappointed with this one. I like it for years but always found it too mature for me in my teens, now on my early twenties I had the opportunity to smell it again.
I loved it on the blotter, it smells nothing like a Chanel perfume to me, which I like cause I hate them usually. Not granny and not overly powdery like the others. But a very grown up and sexy scent.
But then on my skin I could barely smell it, and what I could smell was not good. It was leaving me nauseous. I’m so sad :’)

    Just heavenly
I would never have guessed the individual notes in this, as they blend so well.
I get a definite chanel vibe, citrus, powder and warm woodiness. This has a bit of a makeup smell too.
In no way is this a bank of England scent. Its clean, but not too clean, feminine but not too sweet.
    Its just right.

Allure is definitely on the top shelf. At the beginning it’s citrusy and a bit too sharp for my taste, but the dry down smells heavenly – peach, vanilla, jasmine, magnolia and rose on a warm woody background. It’s sophisticated, elegant, classy, rich, sexy, truly alluring. Longevity is fantastic, sillage is heavy. Suitable for mature women. Even I don’t think I’m ready for it, and I’m 30+.

never expected to in love with Allure but I do
the fragrance start with fresh from citrus I can smell orange on top of powdery at first
but when it developed it became soft still powdery but more sweet from vanilla and a hint of flower
it’s almost floral sweet skin scent when it’s at base note
but it is a sophisticated and mature scent
woman who wear this fragrance is soft sweet feminine but not boring she has innocent sex appealing just like John Meyer’s song your body in wonderland
I will buy Allure one day when I think I suit for the perfume

One of my good friend wore this back in Uni. She smelled so great i begged her to wear it everyday. I did not bought a bottle then for myself since it was her signature. Fast forward many years later and i sort of forgot about this beautiful scent. I recently went perfume testing and tested this. I bought a bottle immediately. It still smell as lovely as i remembered. My friend laughed when i told her that i finally bought Allure. She said, ‘took you long enough, you were obsessed with it!’
On to the scent now, its a soft, smooth peach scent. Powdery as well but the powder is not overwhelming. I cant really detect all the individual notes, its so well blended and the end result is really pleasing to my nose. Projection and longevity are stellar. It projects well on skin as well as clothes and all you need is one spray or two.

Truly one of Chanel’s best created scents. Love it mysteriously attractive or fascinating; seductive.

This is so powdery and musky. There’s a note in it that smells like a cross between burning plastic and animal feces. I smell the exact same note in Narciso Poudre. I wish I knew what the note was so I could avoid all fragrances made with it. Thankfully it’s mild in the fragrance since I wasn’t somewhere I could washed the spray off my arm. Otherwise I might have been gagging. I’m assuming to some people this note must smell amazing or it wouldn’t keep showing up in popular fragrances.

    Fragrance Review For Allure Chanel
Notes: Bergamot, mandarin orange, peach, cedar, vanilla, rose, jasmine, peony, magnolia, orange blossom, lotus vetiver
Allure is a beauty treatment for the skin as much as it is a perfume. This smells like you’ve just come from the most exclusive hair salon in town. This has gorgeous woman head to toe written all over it. It smells of sweet floral notes that create a comestic effect: a powder scent, a hairspray scent and luxurious soap. Allure opens with a sweet fruit accord: mandarin orange, citrus, and peach. There is an orange blossom that blends well with the citrus accord. The rest of the flowers are peony, rose and magnolia, and a touch of lotus. The peony is always a perfect partner for rose so this smells mainly of rose. There is no top middle and base note formula so what you get is a very simple scent with no complex development and it semes to dry down to a soft wood and vetiver. Not exactly a chypre, not very full bodied, just an easy to wear fruity floral fragrance. In the 90’s these type of fruity florals (citrus peach flowers and dry down of vanilla or woods) were very common. There’s a vanilla in this scent that comes toward the end. I have an issue with the longevity but it still lingers for at least 4 or 5 hoours. Beautiful.

I really wanted to like this perfume but it just doesn’t work for me or on my skin. It smells very musky and powdery and I would like either one or the other. I guess the combinatio
