Trussardi Trussardi for women of Trussardi

Share:

Description

This classic and sharp chypre could only be created by the designer house specializing in leather. The leather note and arid styrax note give off their masculine character. Top notes include aldehyde, green herbs, bergamot, hyacinth, galbanum and spicy coriander. Floral heart goes before sharp and warm base. Heart notes include geranium, a common ingredient in masculine fragrances, jasmine, tuberose, and ylang-ylang. Beside leather and styrax, base note is composed of amber, cedar, sandalwood, patchouli and vanilla. This perfume is very interesting and deserves attention of unusual and flamboyant women. It is created in 1984. The original bottle was designed by Nicola Trussardi.

This vintage edition of white Lady’s Trussardi and also vintage Paco rabanne Nuit, are some of best ever womans perfumes, a masterpiece.
This Trussardi is so fresh, floral and strong but on such a elegant way, that lady which is wearing this simply oozes with style. Was a privilege growing up in 80’s and enjoying a life with all sences, without internet.

    OMG….!!!
I finally got this vintage edt version today. It is a perfect my-kind-of-scent….a revelation !!!
    I own…Jean Louis Scherrer,Chanel 19, Silences,Magie Noire, Givenchy III…ect…BUT…this one beats them all IMHO.
green/floral/chypre HEAVEN.It does start off “sharp-ish” like the others I mentioned, then settles in quickly to it’s smoothness. What makes this one (IMO) different than the others I mentioned, are the florals underneath..greent florals…not sweet..or overly done, just enough to “boost” the other notes into a nice harmony. I had sniffed the newer version of this scent, and the newer one has NOTHING to do with the vintage/original.If you are interested int this, buy the only like the bottle shown above…or..the other white leather covered bottle with the white round cap…
Awesomeness !!! So glad to finally have this one in my collection. So far, sillage/longevity are working out well. Smooth and creamy. They don’t make em like this any more !!!

Trussardi Woman is a pretty floral. Hyacinth and orris root take center stage, followed by light wood notes. It is a powdery, light fragrance with no sillage to speak of. Sadly, not much longevity, either. If this is what you are looking for, enjoy. If you are looking for a beautiful leather-floral perfume that packs a punch, try Madame Jolie.
In all fairness, I am not sure if I am reviewing a vintage bottle. The bottle that I purchased was sold to me as a vintage sample, but based on the other reviews, I wonder whether I wound up with a new version instead.

This fragrance puts an end to nowadays edt vs edp dicsussion nonsense. This is an edt from a time, when leading designer brands cared for quality and produced it. It outperforms ANY edp of today. Easy. Classy, leathery chypre juice which by today’s standards could even be worn by a man. The blend is beautiful and stylish. The whole presentation is world class, originating directly from the late great Nicola Trussardi. Its a shining star and a reminder of past, glory days!

I remember my grandmother wearing this. This brings back so many memories of her. I purchase my bottle online. This is truly a classic scent. It stays on my skin for hours. I love it.

Eau Des Merveilles??? Well..no. This is totaly “someone” else. One of the best chypre of ALL times. I can t detect in any other scent such a natural galbanum, leather and cedar. Trussardi was the king of the leather in all the way. and the leather in it smells different from all the leathery scents from today. In my oppinion it is an unisex scent that can t be duplicated with all the available stuff nowadays. For sensitive noses, the oakmoss here – natural and very strong – could be kinda pungent and dusty. For the green/leathery/oakmoss lovers, it is heavenly. The packing, the aura created when you wear it, makes you a real queen, or a king. The longevity is good, it is not a bold scent also the projection and sillage are good. Like it or not, it is UNIQUE.

Trussardi is an educational scent for me. I find it to be pleasant – not very offensive, but not very interesting either.
On me, it simply smells strongly of someone who just stepped out of the shower, all nice and clean. It smells like soap.
And the education? Trussardi has been my EUREKA perfume – I finally understand what is being written about as the trend toward “clean” scents as a reaction to/rejection of the over the top loud smells of the 1980’s.
This would be the perfect office scent, the perfect scent for when you will be in a crowd or anywhere else that you fear your other perfumes might possibly trouble someone else’s oversensitive nose.

For me, Trussardi epitomizes the classic chypre in an entirely different way. It’s FUZZY!
I love this cozy aspect, which I attribute to musk, powder, and almost vegetal spices. Trussardi manages to be so well blended that it’s seamlessly soothing, chic without trying. The opening sparkles with bright green sharpness, and then the almost suede – like warmth envelops me. On first trial it was a solid like, now LOVE.
Comments about this being a mild mannered chypre are completely accurate – at least for me…hehe. My skin likes powerful scents and tends to demolish lighter fragrances. Yes, Trussardi could alarm someone just testing the chypre category for the first time, but lacks the Pow and Volume of ( for instance ) vintage Paloma Picasso or Knowing. With Trussardi you have a pungent opening, warm heart and drydown, and noticable sillage throughout. Not a wallflower, but a poised woman of the world!
    Longevity – good
    Sillage – moderate
    Overall aura – good taste

This bottle was one of my obsessions as a young child. I couldn’t wrap my mind around the fact that plastic had the look of scales and the feel of a crocks tummy… lol… i kept looking for the stitching and there was none…. imagine that! Ha ha ha =)
The perfume itself smelled almost masculine to me and in my later teens i did give it another try because i was very much into sports and freshy androgynous smells, but this one was 2 strong for me.
I still love the bottle’s design and the doggy logo =)

It’s dreary, damp and overcast today… downright depressing weather. I needed a pick me up, desperately. This fit the bill. Dry, woody & green… mixed with a dirty, powdery floral and leathery musk at dry down. The ingredients smell high quality. Comforting, mood elevating, grounding and sexy. Would smell great on a man, too.
If you love Knowing, but it doesn’t love you back, as is the case with me (it turns to bug spray on my skin-probably the bay leaf), this is a great way to quelch that craving. Trussardi is far easier to wear, more office friendly and sits closer to the skin than the boisterous Knowing.

Wild Thang, you make my heart sang…
As my son would say…”What the hey now?”
Ok one of these days I am going to learn to detect notes but for what it’s worth, there is an animal up in this here bottle.
Ahhhh, that stanky Jasmine never let’s me down.
The green is gorgeous here, dirty and true. What does Galbanum smell like? If this is the note that is giving me this rush of euphoria, then I’ll need to get to know this sexy little note a little better.
Animalic may or may not be an appropriate word to describe this scent but it has a lush – wet – green – leather vibe that is making me yearn for more. I need a bigger bottle!
Another love at first sniff. Thank you Amarah for the giveaway.

I got a mini of this after reading the reviews here and I’m pretty sure the bottle was something left over from the 80’s and was probably extremely stale. The smell was overwhelming and sharp. Not the nice sharp of fresh greens, but the sharp of decay. There was also a heavy hand of mustiness to the dry down. Definitely not something I’m going to wear. It does have a very beautiful bottle though.

This is a wonderful scent, but I do not recommend the EDT version- it’s very weak. Unless you are literally looking for a skin scent, do yourself a favor and buy at least the EDP.

I was quite intrigued by this. I sensed it would deliver on my expectations of a perfume with structure, substance, and unmistakable Italian style.
I was not disappointed. Dry, green, woody, not very sweet, with very gentle, soothing florals. A dash of spice, ever so subtle, is also present. All of the notes blend and settle into a fine powdery drydown, impeccably smooth, underscored by a lovely refined leather.
It actually reminds me of the inside of a high quality leather handbag, scented with traces of the perfume of the woman who uses it. This is just pure refinement, and timeless, a classic.
I can hardly think of an instance where this wouldn’t be appropriate, as it is a scent that, once you wear it, you own it, and it becomes an extension of your own style.

This is the first perfume that I purchased online that I am ecstatic about! Trust me, I have purchased many perfumes. Each of my online perfume purchases went right back to the seller, except this one. This is my new favorite perfume. I am in my mid 20’s, but I have been wearing Paloma Picasso since my teens. I am allergic to most perfumes, and unfortunately it’s nearly impossible for me to choose a perfume that doesn’t make me sick as I absolutely cannot stand sweet or fresh perfumes. This perfume hits you right in your nose as soon as you sprits it, but after a few minutes it becomes a soft yet complicated fragrance that has this sort of pungency to it. This perfume is certainly for a confident woman with a strong sense of self. Those of you, who wear this perfume, can relate to what I am trying to say :). I would love to find more perfumes that are in a similar fragrance family!

I’m lousy at discerning a perfume’s notes — especially if there are so many of them.
What I CAN say is this: I tried Trussardi on three different occasions, and ended up buying myself a bottle today.
On me, it goes on like a floral with a fair dollop of spice (coriander?). There’s a bit of a minty “zing” to it as well (aldehydes and green notes?).
In a short time it becomes creamy, powdery, soapy, and smells like a very clean patchouli. Reminds me a wee bit of Tom Ford’s White Patchouli; however, Trussardi seems like it is made of better stuff, quality ingredients.
Yes, it is strong but, surprisingly, not that much of an 80s powerhouse on me. Still, go easy.

Im in love, Im in love, Im in love…..again. I have had a bottle of this stashed away for a while, another ebay bargain, and today thought I’d give it try. Its just beautiful. I adore Cabochard and Bandit, so very drawn to leather scents, this fits me perfectly. The leather, oakmoss and cedar give this fragrance a masculine slant with the aldehydes keeping it smelling very clean. After the inital blast of sharp greens the floral notes rise to the surface making this a very classy, comforting fragrance. Not brash like Bandit or cutting as Cabochard, Trussardi is a much kinder leather scent.

I love it so much! A touch masculinity and aldehydes make it so irresistible and sexy.
Trussardi is one of the best in creating fragrances for strong confident women. As always exceptional quality. Excellent job Trussardi!

    Am I cursed?!?
I just got my mini and, after cautiously trying one tiny dab on one wrist only, I can say this is not ‘my’ fragrance… It is definitely interesting but I find it too masculine for me, and I really don’t get anything else but an overwhelming cedar and a touch of oakmoss. No green notes, no flowers, not even geranium, which is odd as that is usually a pretty detectable note. I like the milk glass bottle though, just not the fragrance.

  27. :

I call it ‘my type of perfume’. Chypre, leather, smokiness, even the resinous effect of the unbeatable Rochas Femme lingers delicately on the skin. Great classic fragrance not only for winter. To me it epitomizes everyday elegance, not too ‘chic’ and not too ‘common’- just a perfect balance which makes me feel so good, relaxed and self-confident.
If you like Cabochard, Miss Balmain, Rumba, Madame Jolie, Rochas Femme, the chances are that you will find it lovely as well.
Simply a classic with a sense of luxury.

On me this is a chypre-leather, and (with much thanks to everyone’s reviews) it was a good blind buy, I might add!
It starts out loudly, finishes quietly, and feels like a classic!
I love the aldehydes combined with the citrus-green-galbanum opening! This one will most certainly wake you up! I get warm and earthy floral notes throughout the heart, but on my skin, this is a very brief phase. No specific floral note seems easily identifiable, except…maybe the tuberose? But most certainly not the ylang or geranium (which was a concern for me, I admit.)
The base emerges quickly and reminds me a little of Estee Lauder – Knowing…just add the leather note. So, for me the base is a bit of a dry, earthy leather, but not as dry as Cabochard. I imagine Trussardi will feel very fresh in the summer. This is when I prefer my chypres the most!!
Thank you all for helping me achieve another successful blind buy!!

I am enjoying this fragrance a lot. It is very strong only in the first few minutes, once it settles in it is just wonderful. It is very much a classic scent in that it won’t ever be out of fashion. I have developed a new found excitement about scents that have such a timeless smell. I really could envision walking around Rome wearing this taking in all the sights and architecture. This is a scent that is not for the timid. It is more for the developed nose that appreciates a complex formula. I used to care so much that others liked how I smell, now I like what I like and if others don’t…too bad :)))It is a gorgeous fragrance and I love that is stays well on my clothes as well.

This is the eldest sister of Montana Parfum de peau. Both fragrances are very musky and leathery, but Trussardi is a little more complex, due to the presence of sandalwood, oakmoss, cedar and aldehyde.
Amazing sillage and lasting-power. It is pretty strong though so try to not over-do it.

I am still not sure I like this fragrance on me. The top notes are too fecal and pungent animal for me. Not sure about the drydown either. I had two bottles of this; gave one away to a friend. Smells fantastic on her.
Oh well, I will wear it once in awhile. I have changed my mind about a fragrance I didn’t like before. Maybe it is just my own chemistry at this particular time.

I bought this on my hunt for a replacement for Fendi, and this has many similar notes. Plus, I read these comments and took your advice, so thanks for the truly genius. discerning posts!
Not the same as Fendi, but oh my, this is a seriously captivating and addictive perfume. A bit brash at the opening, smelling slightly dated and strong to me, but oh, the middle notes and drydown are very, very warm, sensuous and truly addictive. I keep smelling myself to enjoy it!!
I’m no perfume nose, but your amazingly clever ability to recommend this one was spot on.
    Thanks!

The first words that came out of my mouth upon applying TRUSSARDI were: “Made in the ’80s”. This is a big, bold, strong, classic chypre which bears also a family resemblance to and kept reminding me of ARPEGE. Perhaps it’s the ylang, rose, jasmine, styrax, sandalwood, aldehydes, vanilla, muguet, tuberose, geranium, coriander, patchouli…?
What makes TRUSSARDI something of an uber-chypre is its notes of galbanum and orris root, I think. The sillage is not, however, overwhelming, for the oakmoss is not a dominant note, but only one among many–modern chypres often contain a couple of the “requisite” notes, but TRUSSARDI has them all! Plus leather, to boot! (-:
This is a serious perfume appropriate only for cold weather. Longevity is good. If you like ARPEGE, then in all likelihood you’ll like TRUSSARDI. On the other hand…

From what I read here one could tell that this fragrance behaves really differently based on skin chemistry and/or weather. A colleague of mine is using this fragrance and I love it on her. She wore it also during hot summer days and I got lovely cold fresh rose-white flower whiffs from her all day. I really didn’t notice the warmth nor the leather, but maybe it showed up after she left work. I agree it is a bit similar to Eau du Soir (which I also admire) but not to Eau des Merveilles, at least not to my nose.
I think its a great fragrance and if you have the opportunity do try it. Or just buy a bottle, its really cheap nowadays.

My first perfume! I was only 22 :)) Just beginning with my professional life.. wanted to have something that would describe my personality at the first smell :))) It smelled all-over interesting, wise, daring, intelligent and charming tome. It was too sophisticated for that age maybe… but now I am willing to try it again

On my skin this fragrance releases its beautiful side – wonderful soft and warm smell of leather. Whenever I wear it, i imagine a nice autumn – sun is shining, I’m walking in the park, stepping on the golden, red, bronze colored leaves…Wearing a light brown leather jacket and a long striped scarf:)
This fragrance is really a bit similar to Hermes “Eau des Merveilles”.

Just lovely, for the one who likes chypre type of fragrances. Classic, a bit green and at the same time powdery. Not too strong, pleasant mellow sillage. Great for everyday and for the office, as it’s quite subtil and not romantic at all.

Similar to Hermes’ Eau Des Merveilles, but lighter/softer.
