Russian Magic…
I’ve been wearing this fragrance for a few days, and it was a special gift to me from a very kind friend, and it came from Russia by post. I’ve been wearing this and I have to say I’ve been loving it all the time!
I was so intrigued to try a fragrance from a different country! I am fascinated by all things Russian and I wanted to try something different from the French and Italian perfume brands. With the house “Novaya Zarya” I have been pleasantly surprised! This house has an interesting story, from the time it began as a house run by a French family in Moscow in the days of the great Russian empire until the October revolution and then as a “revolutionary” house for the USSR. Since the 1990’s and it is Russian again, and always in character it has been Russian since the beginning, and very classy! Even during so-called “soviet” era, it kept this refined character.
Okay, so the fragrance itself is an example of a fresh, masculine combination of lavender, citrus, herbs, some moss and nutmeg and amber. I have been wearing it on my skin and I get a very delicate sweet floral aroma, not a “cheap” smell but more of a “gentleman” smell. It’s smells clean, like a luxury soap, or a very posh soap. So it can be worn formally in my opinion, and it smells so different from the stuff being produced these days, but it’s not offensive in any way, in fact, it’s very pleasant.
I remember wearing this when in a big gathering both with family and with friends, and after a while (like many perfumes), I forgot that I was wearing it myself and because I met so many people that day I kept thinking “who in this room smells so good?” and “what a delicious smell!”. Of course later I realised it was me! I recommend this one for something different… and I hope to try more from this house in future.
