I can see why this one didn’t sell but it’s fantastic. I found a commercial on Youtube and it was atrocious. I think they did not market this one correctly, particularly what with the million billion Trésor flankers out there, it seemed like just another amongst many. Wrong.
I don’t particularly care for the original Trésor – me and Sophia Grojsman’s creations tend not to get along. However, I have enjoyed several of the flankers. This is a scent that wears you if you don’t wear it, it takes a certain amount of character not to feel like wearing your mother’s heels as a little girl. It’s rosy, leathery, patch-y, but rounded off so impossibly softly that it is not in-your-face. With such a combination, I didn’t think it was possible, but a heavy helping of vanilla and benzoin really gets the job done.
While not outright “skanky”, I feel that there is a carnal aspect to this one, and it goes very well with the natural smell of a body (that we in the West sadly feel like we need to cover up at all times, not accentuate), like a subtle, sensual wash of allure. Do not overspray this, save it for the people that get close. Really close.

I didn’t think I was ever going to find a Tresor that I “loved”…..until today. While testing today, I found this to be AMAZING! Love at first sniff xoxo

Amazing perfume. According to the description on the box, it is a Tresor made with parfums absolutes as ingredients, exceptional raw materials. It feels like a 100% better version in quality, impression and sentiment from the original Tresor. It was a love at first sniff for me.

    Hi
I have a bottle that I’ve only tested for sale.
    I’m in Australia.
As it’s rare as hen’s teeth…. Quite pricey I’m afraid.
Please message me if you like to buy it.

So very different from the other frags under the Tresor line. Benzoin was strong, dark and makes its strong appearance together with rose. It softens down after few minutes which is good. I couldn’t get used to the smell of the incensy like benzoin yet but hopefully over time i would. Because this is a very unique scent in my entire collection that actually has very little hint of sweetness on me yet makes me think about it. And the bottle is very worth collecting.

I strongly believe that if there had to be just one fragrance in the world, Tresor would be it. Tresor is a very elegant fragrance and in my view, it is the arc de triomphe of modern perfumerie.
Tresor L’ Absolu is an even more beautiful, enhanced version of Tresor. And I am head over heels in love with this magnificent scent.
The heart of Tresor is still there; its recognizable powdery apricot rose.
The difference is that it doesn’t start wth a dry opening but, it begins immediately with a juicy honey-sweet scent, enhanced by a musky vanilla feel.
This beautiful scent continues throughout its exceptional longevity. Like Tresor, it lasts more than 12 hours on me, and more on my clothes and scarfs.
It is a truly magnificent fragrance.
However, if you belong among the gourmand group, feeling enchanted by sweet, sugary scents which fall in the category of “La Vie est Belle” or “Flowerbomb” or “Manifesto” or “Black Opium” etc, you may not enjoy Tresor L’ Absolu. But, if you tend to like perfumes which have a cerebral intelligence through their intermixing notes (and do not have a monothematic sweet feel from beginning to end) then this fragrance is for you.
I love Laduree as much as the next girl but, I do not wish to smell like it. Tresor L’ Absolu will make you feel that you smell like an elegant French lady; not an elegant French pastry.
    Enjoy the perfume quest 🙂

I wish this was as vanillic, rosy, and leathery as the sales assistant made it out to be, but I could not help but think it reminded me of a particularly pungent, sickly sweet cough medicine…

I don’t get much from leather here at all. Tresor L’Absolu opens as an earthy, intensely soapy and somewhat sharp rose, gradually softening down and blending into a sweet, boozy, vanillic, almost jammy, iced-sugar rose. A couple of hours in, it develops a syrupy, almost marmalade-like aura of mild rose petals dipped in warm white chocolate. It’s really one of the most interesting and transformative perfumes I’ve ever tried. For that alone I like it very much.
As for the wear, silage is moderate, and it continues to project for several hours. Recommended!

Not being a fan of the original Tresor I was a bit reluctant about this version, but the notes and the reviews made me really curious. Especially the fact that apparently this one is really hard to get made my hands (…and nose) itch!!
Unfortunately there was only one way to satisfy my curiosity,… and that was to blind buy it since it’s not to be found in stores here. On top of that: it’s quite pricey too…
I couldn’t control myself of course and ended up ordering it.
When I first tried it, I wasn’t sure what to think of it. But now after I got to try it several times I can say that it actually is pretty good! There’s something about it that always makes me take off the cap to just sniff the sprayer every time I open my perfume closet to spray something on.
The scent smells somehow mysterious to me… it’s dark, it’s sweet, it’s warm & sensual & sexy.
First I smell lots of rose (deep red in color) and slightly earthy patchouli, quickly accompanied by the leather note.
That’s the part I’m still not sure about,… but after a little while when it settles on my skin it gets much better! It gets sweeter, rounder and balmy with the vanilla and benzoin. At some point it reminds me of dark chocolate bonbons filled with sweet liquor. Boozy…
However it does not smell like chocolate and it’s definitely not gourmand smelling… So why do I get that vibe? I don’t know! Maybe I was hoping/expecting it to smell chocolaty after reading it in one of the reviews. Maybe it’s the color of the bottle and the juice combining?
Dark on top with this boozy colored liquid inside…
Anyway, whatever it is: I’m glad it brings this sensation to my nose, because that was really what I was hoping for!
It’s strong without filling a room and it lasts pretty well, 8+ hours.
    ♥♥♥♥

I finally received my bottle of Tresor L’Absolu. So sure that I would love it, this was my first ever blind buy… and I’m not disappointed!
Firstly let me say that the bottle itself is a delight. So dark and luxurious and even the juice is a beautiful dark pinky colour. Now here’s my review of the perfume: On first spray you can tell that this is a perfume of excellent quality and composition. It retains the essence of the original Tresor, but is slightly less sweet and not at all fruity. So what remains of the original is that unmistakable Tresor rose.
This also bears resemblance to Tresor L’Absolu Desir, due to the rose-jasmine-vanilla combination. Where Desir is romantic, L’Absolu is sexy, edgy and sophisticated. The leather note is noticeable but subtle and all the notes are blended to perfection, without being too loud or overbearing.
As with Desir, I’m not so keen on the first fifteen minutes of wearing L’Absolu, but after that it settles to something soft, warm, sweet and long-lasting.
This perfume is undoubtedly signature-worthy and I look forward to wearing this during the colder months. I find it hard to understand why in the UK (and probably elsewhere) Lancome is depriving us of this beauty and yet are offering us continuous flankers of La Vie Est Belle. Perhaps Tresor L’Absolu is considered not mainstream enough for the mass market, who knows? If you are a fan of the original (un-reformulated) Tresor, consider this a more modern, richer, darker and more sensual version. The vanilla here is incredible and this is truly right up my street!

Still not available in the UK and doesn’t look like it’s going to be. This is the first perfume I’ve seriously considered blind-buying from an international retailer, as I’m absolutely convinced I will love it. I found some info online which said that the two perfumers behind Tresor L’Absolu were Sophia Grojsman and Dominique Ropion, so that has made me want to try it even more…

This is a thick, luscious, rich perfume all right. It’s a sad state in perfume, when you get a new release and are pleasantly shocked to find it having 1) sillage 2) tenacity 3) depth 4) natural essences. I cannot say that Tresor L’Absolue is a unique perfume, I’ve smelled parts of it in other creations, but it is extremely well done.
It’s all about the rose, and vanilla. Opening is a big rose, slightly fruity, a hint of peach I think, and a few minutes in I do detect just a drop of leather that adds an earthy grounding of dirt and smoke. It is extremely faint, do not be alarmed if you are scared of a leather note. The benzoin is a big note too, giving everything a sweet amber cast. The vanilla is apparent from top to bottom, and is most apparent at the base of the perfume. The vanilla at first highlights the fruity rose, together with the benzoin, and at the base is a warm patchouli vanilla. I really can’t smell the jasmine much at all.
Lasts 12+ hours, nice silage, nothing smells artificial or like chemical soup, I highly recommend this…why is this discontinued already?

  17. :

    3 out of 5

So good. Almost as good as the discontinued ‘Magnifique’. I like this because it’s a bit more fresh than the original Tresor. I still like Tresor and Tresor In Love… but this one takes the cake! (And the price, can’t believe $150 for 50ml).

the sillage and longevity of tresor is heaven. i test it on a test strip, i put it in my bag, 2-3 hours later i smell something and i wonder “where and whom this beautiful thing come from?” then i realized it is just test strip which is in my bag lol but totally winter fume. i test it few days ago, at the hell of summer, its a bit cloying.

This is a disappointment indeed, overly synthetic sweet, it was a shock. What is going on with these re-releases of perfumes that are using this cheap sweetener?!? (Eg: D&G) intense in a bad way, with the original perfume barely there in the background.

  21. :

This is beautyful, really beautyful, dark rose, rich sweetness, but I use it very sparingly, and I can smell it by myself, what not happens very often! Longevity and sillage it´s huge on my skin.
In the Netherlands it’s normal available, lucky me!
It´s very mature, I keep it for special occasions.
Now I’m also very curious about Tresor Lumineuse, it’s gonna be an expensive month, I’m afraid!
Iam a Rich girl because of this perfume, poor girl in my wallet, its always the same problem with me, I will never learn!
I wanna know who is the creator, a little mysterious about that?
Saw I’m not the only one who wanted to know, the signature of this perfume creator is very important for me personal.

    This my lovelies is gorgeous.
I was lucky enough to get one of these beauties. It was a birthday present from my husband, so is very special.
The packaging is strong and simple, and the flacon very impressive. I like the continuation of the original bottle but this has presence with the black top. (The bottle is an important as the contents to me. I tend to like linear shapes so this too is a departure from my usual taste).
I don’t usually buy perfumes blind, but as per my previous post, I ordered this and in so doing felt a little obliged to purchase it. However I was not disappointed, and on having a sniff from the tester, spritz on my arm, I said yes. The SA nearly fell over. (I am known to be discerning, in that I will ask for a paper sample and some on my arm and will go back to purchase only if I like it enough.)
I get vanilla, vanilla, vanilla, but what a vanilla. Rounded out, smooth, long lasting and not at all synthetic which can so easily happen on my skin.
24 hours, a shower and two washing ups later, I can still smell my original spritz on my wrist.
It is very different from my usual Oakmoss/Patchouli choices but I have decided to look outside the box from now on.
Mental picture, modern lady, sharp suit or satin evening gown. Knows what she wants and gets it but is feminine enough to let her perfume show her uninhibited side while closing a deal or having fun with her lover.
Does anyone know who the two great perfumers who conjured up this one are?

Intense version of the original Tresor or I should say the original Tresor in the 90s.

Τhis perfume is available, I don’t know why all this fuss all this time, WHO is leading this kind of false Information, just to go and buy it and stock it? I live in GREECE and this is available, so I cannot believe it isn’t in England! Hard to believe….

Went on the hunt to try this locally in New Zealand.”Already sold out before it got to us” was the reply. How can this be. What are perfume houses up to? While assaulting us with sugary offerings and flankers ad infinitum they keep back what could be the good stuff.
Luckily my source has been able to find a bottle for me with tester so I am not obliged to buy, but I found this whole experience mindless.
Perfume isn’t was it was, and seems like we are being duped all round.
Sorry for the rant, but surely a “new” perfume should be available for longer than a couple of months, especially as this is a flanker!!!!!

I was informed that the only versions of Tresor they currently retail are Trésor, Trésor In Love and Trésor Midnight Rose, in the UK at least. Frustrating, isn’t it?

I have bought this one in a nostalgic mood of the old tresor, which I used to wear when I was little, especially on Christmas events. This one reminds me of this old tresor, before the reformulation and I have to notice that now it is a very common Policy of perfume houses to reformulate the old perfumes and make it very light and then to create a version of so called “Absoly” or “excess” or “essence” or whatever which is supposed to be the ultimate concetrated version, only it is just the good old regular pre reformulated perfume. Yes, I know, I am a sucker to buy it but I so love this perfume and I was missing it. Sorry for my english, I am not a native speaker.
I will come bacjk with more details, after I wear it a little bit
EDIT This is even better than the reformulated one, except from the price! It has this patchouli and vanilla vibe which makes the fragrance mysterious, magnetic and so romantic, whithout being fluffy girly but sophisticated. Really pleased with this one, it s gonna be my signature for Special occasions, suited for dresses, because it has a retro style, not at all 90s or 80s. And the lasting power is excellent! The sillage nice, not spectacular but can work with more spritz.

Great scent. I like it much better than the original, which is not really my taste, although I agree it is a good fragrance. This one is much fuller, rounder and sweeter, much less woody, even though it is very very similar to the original. I do find it even more similar, very similar indeed, to Diamonds and Rubies. It is not so candy sweet though, although it is still quite a lot. It smells more complex and a bit more sophisticated and evolves more. Silage and staying power are great. I wonder who is the creator. Is it Sophia Grosjman?

I tested this today (it’s just being launched here in Australia). It doesn’t have the peach from the original Tresor; this one has notes of rose, but there’s a subtle undertone of white florals too. It also feels a fair bit more powdery. Benzoin is present, but it isn’t very loud. The rose is present all through the life of the scent on skin. The aromatic spices aren’t spicy enough to make the scent warm, they just make it a bit more powdery.
There’s very little patchouli, so it’s barely discernible in combination with the benzoin. I get almost no leather though; it’s there if you look hard enough, but if you didn’t know it was there, you probably won’t notice.
Longevity is excellent; it survived about 14 hours on my skin. It projects fairly well (about a few feet for most of the time) before settling to a more subtle few inches off the skin.
