A marine fragrance with a real difference. Transat opens with a wonderful, fresh blast of rosemary and marine accords and then dries down into softer woody tones, while still maintaining a salty, seawater vibe. On my skin I also get what I can only describe as a slightly creamy effect with the woody notes. However, that’s not to say there’s vanilla here or that it’s sweet. The longevity is surprisingly decent and the woody/marine mix makes it a good all year round bet. Transat is sadly discontinued, but I found a sealed box on eBay for a good price and this was one of the best blind buys I’ve made.

“I still hear the song of the sea…”
By this sentence, from a lovely video game character, (Nami, the aquamancer from League of Legends, for people who loves Video Games AND Perfumes, like me xD)
    this is the perfect summary.
Here, the oceanic smell takes the lead, supported at the beginning by a fleeting but lovely sage. And then, slowly, the sage goes by and substituted by a woody / ambery background, just enough to make the sea more deeper. Aqua lovers, go for it, this is a really natural oceanic atmosphere. You can almost hear a seagull and a boat if you’re peaceful enough.
I mean, if you have a conch, put it on your ear while you wearing this perfume, close your eyes, and here it is. You travel to an island for a very low price 🙂

I was shocked that people rate it as a summer fragrance as I tried it once in July and it was definitely out of place as the rosemary and wood notes come roaring out. I tried it again just over a week ago and have worn it everyday along with the body wash. It is now autumn and I live in south Ontario of Canada. The first day I put on 4 sprays (2 on neck, 2 on chest) and a person next to me at work thought someone was using a cleaning fluid in the office. I washed my neck off and they said the scent went away. I switched to just 2 sprays a day and no other comments but it has warm scent that lasts all day. It would be nice to put on if you were walking through a park in the fall so see the leaves and stuff. The sprayer is very good as well.

This scent is masculine yet very refined. The woody notes are definitely there for me. I bought this for my boyfriend and he was extremely surprised it came from Yves Rocher! In my opinion, it is much more refined than most of the fragrances from YR.

Very good masculine scent, indeed aromatic and aquatic, with woody accords. Its sillage is very good and it stays pretty long on the skin. It was my husband’s wedding fragrance and I have only good memories connected with it. I would compare it to Giorgio Beverly Hills Wings for Men, but Transat seems a little bit more mysterious and refined.

This scent is one of the first newer releases for men from YR (2006) in a while. When I called to ask about it since it was in the index but not the monthly flier I was told it opens like Escape from cK, and got more like CW and ended woody…okay a green aquatic woody(?) for half-price, why not?!
This does have a very clear rosemary note yet it opens quite smooth as opposed to sharp. The “watery notes” have some calone in them but also something deeper ( the PR says embace the power and depth of the sea) that is very oceanic without being overly aquatic. Despite the lack of fruits and flowers this has a slight sweetness intertwined without being sickly as it ends with amber (more resinous than ambergris) and solid woody accord (more like a blend than any one type)that finishes dry on the skin…
    Sillage: decent
    Longevity: average
    Overall: 3/5
This is different for an aromatic aquatic and bears no likeness to the phone agents description…its clean straightforward approach with nothing extra is quite refreshing due to its dry spiciness, dark sweetness and incensy finish. Not your typical watery cologne but don’t we have enough of those already? It hints at the dark depths of the ocean and sweetness of beachy breezes without drowning us in calone or tropical cocktails. It is reminiscient of the sea without adding any of the usual suspects, a new twist on an old, and very tired theme…
