Such a departure from my usual, but I really enjoy this. Light crisp, airy, beachy but not in your suntan oil kinda way. Wearing this I think mojito with a splash of orange, that might taste bad… But actually smells quite appealing. Due to the orange notes, actually invigorating. It’s very cool… >.

Very interesting combination of clementine, tangerine, pomegranate and hibiscus with light musky dry down. The notes smell very accurate to the actual scents in reality. The combination is fresh and dewy. Pretty cool fragrance from this house.

I’ve been intrigued by these Tommy Bahama fragrances and I’ve seen a few in the discount shops like Marshalls but never wanted to take a chance on a blind buy. I live in Florida, and need refreshing scents for the summer that can perform in the heat and humidity. This and Set Sail Martinique were in the Two for $60 case at Perfumania this weekend, and Hubby got his pick of the other one. I almost picked out Martinique for myself, but ulitmitly settled on Very Cool and I’m very happy I did! Upon Dry Down with was much preferred. As I’m smelling it again today, it is very true to its notes. Its sort of a musty citrus. You get the Tangerine and Mandarin, yes the pomegranate is there. The cactus and cassia are aquatic and musty, the hibiscus sort of dusty. The nectarine is there too! I don’t get a musk smell, but I know its part of the mustiness. Musty sounds like a bad word to describe a good smell, but trust me its smells good! The sales lady told me it was somewhat like light blue, and if you think of a perfume that is more orange than lemon than yes it is sort of like light blue. I think I will LOVE wearing this freshie over the summer!

I bought this as a blind buy at Ross’ and I couldn’t be happier with it! I love the opening aquatic citrus scent and also like the the soft dry down of the scent as well. It’s lite and not offending so it could be suitable as an office scent. I notice as it dries down it lies close to the skin. Maybe it’s a little generic for some, but for me it’s a nice break from my usual Burberry Woman or Acqua Di Gioia.

This is the first perfume I owned. A guy I dated in high school got it for me when we were dating. I didn’t like it because 1) the dry down smelled too mature for a kid in high school 2) we broke up soon afterwards and it reminded me of him. Fast forward half a decade, I was in my early 20s, and I used it again, and I begin to appreciate it better. I like the top notes, which is dominated by the bright & clear citrus. I still don’t like the dry down, so I wear it on cold days to smell the citrus longer. The transition from top notes to base notes is not very smooth or continuous. It’s kind of like citrus citrus citrus kapoom now you have the woods. I love the look of the bottle. It’s like a holographic bubble.

This smells so much like Light Blue! Except a little better. And lasting power isn’t bad.
Bought this summer 08, but gave it away while liking it due to this reminding me of a bad experience that same year. A shame because Iiked the juice.

Whenever I need a break from the hustle and bustle of life, I reach for this perfume. It transports me to a carefree, sunny, and breezy island lifestyle. It is a very calming and relaxing scent, although not very long-lasting. An excellent buy for $19.99 at Marshall’s.

After using this as a regular all summer long, I needed to do a new review. I can’t believe no one else that I have read of has mentioned this, but I find this to be very similar to D&G Light Blue! So much alike, but this would be a bit more aquatic….almost as if this wAs a high end knock off of light blue, not one of those cheap five dollar knock offs lol anywho, I just wanted to re-review to say how incredibly lovely this is! I’m so glad I stumbled upon this, because it is now one of my top go to fragrances!

I found this at shoppers drug mart today, it was on sale for $19.99 for the 100ml!!! So because it would be a blind buy if I was to purchase it, I came straight to my favourite fragrance review website, obviously HERE, and the reviews were for the most part, favourable! I figured that since it was so inexpensive that I would give it a shot! I’m so glad I did buy it! It is simply amazing! The light, summer fruity essence of it is incredible! It’s sweet, but not a cheap smelling sweet! I’m now very interested in the other perfumes from this line, this was my first TB fragrance! Anytime I blind buy and it turn out to be a good pick, it’s exciting….but when you blind buy and find a LOVE it’s amazing!!!

The opening is a lovely citrus, very fresh and summery. It sort of calms down, for lack of a better word, and becomes an inobtrusive fresh citrus floral that is very office friendly. This isn’t a knock your socks off fragrance but sometimes the socks should stay on.

It is so good, so nice. Its like my loving lovely Clinique Happy on me, just cheaper version! But… the problem is I can’t smell it myself on me 🙁 I must rub my finger into my neck and then smell my finger 🙁 But… I want to believe that I will be friends with it someday, because its summer fragrance and I sometimes have problems with light scents, but somehow later my skin adapts to them and I can feel the beauty of summer and summer fragrances. Wish me luck.

Smelling it from the bottle, it smells like an impressionist depiction of a tropical ocean. However, my chemistry really did not react well with this fragrance when it was actually on my skin. After about an hour, it turned into something that I would describe as floral/citrus with a hint of diaper… Mercifully, it also did not project that well, nor did it last very long. Could be a very fun scent, though, for those who wear it well.

It smells like summer! Very fresh and refreshing…clean even. Whenever I wear this it makes me think of sand, salt and fruity orange infused drinks (maybe orange margaritas!). It literally smells like the beach. Every time I spritz it on I am amazed by the saltwater note and immediately start thinking about the beach. Its slightly sweet/ fruity and tropical but I really enjoy it. I usually like flowery or woody –earthy scents — rather than fruits but I find this very interesting & crisp. Its definitely a scent I have to be in the mood for because on me it has a good sillage and lasts for hours. Can be overpowering sometimes other times it just wafts up to my nose like little waves.
Its not an everyday scent for me but I like smelling the bottle. Will reach for more when things heat up again and I find myself longing for the beach as I lounge around the pool.

Most of the time I love this light, fresh citrusy perfume. Once in a while, though, it reacts in a strange way with my body chemistry and smells so horrible I have to shower it off. Could it have to do with what I’ve eaten maybe?

I saw this at T.J. Maxx and tried it. I was glad I did. It is so refreshing. It leaves me feeling cool and calm on the hottest days. On me, it has a quality that reminds me of D&G Light Blue. I like to take this when I travel. That way I have a nice fragrance and don’t have to get upset if I leave it behind or it breaks in transit because I pick it up for a song.

It’s my signature fragrance … wore it for 5 years now and love it. So fresh and clean!

Seawater, hot weather and walk on the beach… VERY COOL is certainly a fragrance that I reserve for the days spent outdoors in the sun. I look at this fragrance more like a body splash for a hot weather. It surely is sporty and a bit masculine but it also reminds me of an ocean and blends nicely with my skin on a hot day.
The scent opens with a nice zesty blend of clementine and tangerine, which I like a lot. I wish it lasted for longer but it only lasts for a few minutes and then the seawater note becomes noticeable and pretty much overpowers other notes. I think that it is cassia and cactus combo that creates this illusion of seawater. The scent stays linear until it hits the base notes when the seawater note finally disappears and I am left with the soft peachy musk, which is actually quite pleasant on my skin.
The strong seawater-like note is an acquired taste, so I would recommend testing before buying. This fragrance works for me only in hot weather when I am in the mood for it. I do not regret buying it blind but I will not re-purchase it. (My Overall Score 6.5/10)
(This review is for Eau de Perfume)

Not my favorite. It’s a different scent, the freshness drew me to it, but that’s not my typical choice. Rarely use it.

I got Very Cool at a discount store. I think the bottle is beautiful but I’m not sure the fragrance is cool. It has a fruit note like tangerine or nectarine that sticks out a little bit sharp to me. Sometimes it smells like fruit but sometimes it smells kind of like an armpit. Sorry, but it does . I am hoping that slighty off smell goes away , it’s not bad just not quite right.
Update, the odd note is probably the cactus. It adds a different smell and makes this not just another fruity-floral.

I love this fragrance!! I have been looking for a new fragrance for a really long time. The one I have been wearing for a long time has been discontinued. This one is fresh, and light, but has great staying power since it is an Eau de Parfum. I have found “The One”. I highly reccommend this perfume!!!

    Harsh, nose-burning opening…for about 30 seconds…then, sporty citrus perfect for summer…
    Later, green, watery, herby florals.
    Pretty good, nice summer fragrance.

Bought this untested because it was sooo inexpensive at TJ Maxx. Thought it would be good as a weekend fragrance when I don’t want to waste my more expensive goodies.
It does have the citrusy opening as many here have noted. A fresh, clean and slightly fruity scent. I felt that it dried down to a “weak and boring” status as pinkcatfurr reviewed.
The fruity notes are not as mellow as they could be and remind me of Avon perfume fragrances.
    Which isn’t good.
Not horrid or offensive, just kind of okay and like I said, I would wear this to smell fresh while running errands. My husband commented that I “smelled nice”. Only wore it once, so will give it another try. Right now, I give it a 4 out of 10.

Very Cool is awesome. Took me a few tries to realize I loved it, as at first it seemed masculine. Well, it had staying power and every now and then through the day- it reminded me it was still there and pleasantly. It quickly became a favorite of mine. I have found it’s always good to give a scent a second and third chance if you stray away your favorite notes. Since Very Cool- I always let the cologne speak to me. I now wear scents I never thought I would or could.

Thanks Persephone for throwing in this extra sample! I accidentally upended half the vial on my wrist in my clumsiness, so Very Cool is probably normally even lighter than I smell right now.
The opening is very bright, citrusy, and inoffensive. It’s smells like the beach in summertine. I’d say the pomegranate does not play nearly a large a role as the citruses, which veer towards being downright lemony! Very Cool is a very carefree, youthful citrus (unlike O de Lancome) that seems made for your cut-off shorts and flip-flops. Baisically you can skip past the florals in the heart notes (hibiscus and cactus being quiet notes as they are). The cassia in Very Cool is similar to the cassia in Pure Turquoise, sharp and defining. Not bad . . .
Until the basenotes! Ok, by this point, I’m getting tired of the linear citrus detergent smell, but it hasn’t gotten unpleasant yet. Yet. Spoke too soon because the acidic pH veritably CURDLES in the musk. And apricots are possibly my least favorite fruit in real life; they seem so stale and miserly next to the juicy generosity of the peach. ANYWAY the base thoughtlessly clashes with the overwhelming citruses; I much prefer citrus scents to be rooted in woods like cedar or oakmoss as opposed to animalic musk.
Just a matter of personal preference, but unfortunately not the perfume for me. 🙁

I really like Tommy Bahama Very Cool. The opening is citrusy and salty. It reminds me of a bitter margarita. About 20 minutes into the fragrance, a herbal type floral scent emerges. As funny as it sounds, I now know what a cactus smells like- somewhat bitter, dry, and green. The drydown becomes a bit softer and sweeter with the introduction of the peach and musk. It’s an odd fragrance, but I am drawn to it. I appreciate it for being complex and out of the norm. I also appreciate it for being the antithesis of a fruity floral fragrance. It’s not sweet or sugary at all and somehow, it manages to be another facet of what a fruity/floral perfume can be. Overall, I rate it an 8 out of 10.

this sour fruit cocktail is very juicy and cool.I think I smell something like kiwi, because it’s very sour.now that I see the notes I realize it should be pomegranate.in fact to me it smells like a mixture of kiwi and sea notes.unfortunately I’m not a fan of strong salty sea notes.but as the salty notes disappear it becomes more interesting;still fruity but with a hint of floral notes.it also smells like mint;fresh and free and the turquoise, green color of the bottle matches the perfume inside well.
it doesn’t have a strong silage, but it’s good.because you can wear it everyday during the summer, with annoying other people.it’s also good for the vacations beside the beach, just like Escada summer fragrances.

Very citrusy and crisp, and I barely smell the floral. Something a little bit different from the other fruity florals I have. Nice for vacation.

It’s the perfect summer fragrance for those who don’t like sticky-sweet or girly-flowery. Refreshing, sportive and non offensive.
A breath of cool fresh air on a hot summer day.
What like about it: it is very clear and not complicated and yet it’s not a soapy/shampoo or room spray smell. I have not seen that many times before…

Very crisp and cool. Not to overpowering, it’s just enough though that it lasts all day long.

I just got this and when I first sprayed it on it had a very citrusy smell to me but within an hour it had mellowed to a warm, musky yet mellow fragrance that I truly like. My husband really liked it which was surprising as he isn’t a big fan of perfume.
