Love this stuff. I wouldn’t call this ‘intense’. It’s a refined version which the Amber really mellows out the tobacco and oud in a good way. I get a lot of sweet amber (from the Tonka also). The dry harshness in the opening of the original has gone. The castoreum is non offensive and you can just smell a touch of it in the back ground. Beautiful stuff. This will be the next in my collection. I like the original but love this one, definitely more wearable and pleasing.

If you’ve ever smelled Dior Leather Oud, this has a very similar oud note in it. A smokey and ashy oud, something you would smell wafting off of a cigar smoker’s clothes. If you’re not in the mood to smell like you smoke cigars, you wouldn’t like this fragrance. And I really do mean that. It is way ashier and more animalic than the original Tobacco Oud. The original has an almost raisiny resinous quality to it probably from amber that this one seems to have less of, or at least it’s covered up by the ashiness. Tobacco Oud Intense is more wearable than Dior Leather Oud, but not by much. I can only see it working in an actual smoking lounge or rotary club. It’s something only a real “baller” can pull off; it wouldn’t be pleasing or make sense on anyone else. Never even think about blind buying this.

This is a true intense version of its original fragrance.
Same as the already heavy Tobacco oud but with further amplified smoke and concentrated ashy tobacco in a thick amber base.
Considering the price, the original is the one to go in my opinion.

Does anyone else get a sort of vicks vapor rub feeling for the first few seconds after you spray this on, or is it just me?

Smoky, spicy, intoxicating. This is probably my favorite from Tom Ford, and one of my favorites overall. It’s much more than just a flanker–I love the original Tobacco Oud, but this is addictive in a way that not even that can match.
It’s somewhat less dirty than the original in the opening while being spicier overall (the castoreum?) and not so dry/smoky. The drydown is amazing and distinct–Tobacco Oud has a great dry smoky-sweet drydown; this echoes that but provides more spicy woods and the sweetness is different–the raspberry? Castoreum? Tonka? I wouldn’t go so far to say as others have that it’s quasi-gourmand, but it’s very good.
In terms of performance, it’s about the same as Tobacco Oud: projects well and lasts forever, especially on clothes. It might be just a tad subtler than the original but considering how that’s a powerhouse, this is still pretty strong. It definitely leans masculine.
It’s overpriced but if you’re into tobacco or dark spicy wood fragrances you should try it.

Beautiful fragrance, very warm and comforting. Starts off spicy sweet with a fruity plum and then I get a short blast of oud and Castoreum. Then it turns gourmand, almost chocolate like, but only for a short while. Dry down is sweet and smoky. Not as strong as I thought it would be, but still very nice. To me this is a mixture of TF Amber Absolute and TF Plum Japonais

This frag is perfect in every way except the price. I sampled this with original and this is better.
They smell the same but this is less linear and more amazing, however they both do the same thing this simply dries down differently imo
If your considering which one to buy I am choosing original but if don’t mind paying the same for half the ml go for this.

I like this. The top three main notes imo are castoreum, tobacco and oud; in no particular order.
The proportion of tobacco keeps the castoreum from dirtying up the oud too much; keeping the oud pleasant and just a little barnyardish unlike what the castoreum did to Illuminum Scarlet Oud, making it way too fecal.

Damn good. I like this more than Tobacco Oud, and I love Tobacco Oud. It’s a bit sweeter, smoother, and more complex than the original. Intoxicating
Does not last longer or project further than Tobacco Oud.

    @ Lorax
Castoreum is an animalic musk with semi sweet vanillic like qualities which use to come from the beaver and was actually used in Vanilla ice cream flavorings in the past, now its synthetic and used mainly in perfumery.

Can someone tell me how strong the Castoreum is?
I love Tobacco Oud, and I’m a fan of all the other notes in this version, except Castoreum.
    Does it really stand out?
Will it ruin this for me?
^ @CDGfan. I know what it is, I just want to know how dominant it is.
I don’t like the animalic/ammonia, part of it.
No one has mentioned anything about it yet in the reviews.
    Thanks.

Unlike oud wood intense which is drastically different from the original. This is extremely similar, as a matter a fact so much so, I can say as someone who isnt a big fan of the original and since I dont wear it often. I think id have to wear each on each hand to tell all the exact differences. They are deff similar enough that off hand unless you like/love the scent its probably redundant to own. So much so after smelling oud wood intense compared to this one I almost feel like man am I smelling a bad sample? Did they send the original???
I guess off hand perhaps the main thing that stuck out to me was that this smelled perhaps a little more smokey/woody/with a chard aspect to it. However the opening is just as out there and potentially offensive as the original and its hard to imagine this being likable to the general public.
Strangely or perhaps not so, I found the performance to be weaker than the original.
As for reviews ive seen about this being similar to amber absolute, you know I remember people saying that about the original as well, and any similarity between the 2 is pretty slim to me, and just with this new intense I find it pretty marginal.
I will say although it doesnt call to mind raspberry like I see in some reviews, if I tell myself its supposed to have raspberry in it while smelling my hand right now I can “see it” .. but really the association is not there for my nose off hand unless someone were to tell me so….
Overall my initial wearing of this was pretty disappointing.. Im sure ill come back to it but as it is pass for me…

As beautiful as is Tobacco Oud, Intense is a more complex and balanced evolution of the same theme. More masculine better balanced and more wearable than T.O., there is this sense of spice that grounds the heady oad in a way that tobacco itself cannot. Earthy vs. Ethereal, there is a sense of incense with an undertone of fruit slightly reminiscent of Plum Japonaise.
    Manly, spicy, oudy tobacco. Excelsior!

Definitely lives up to the name – a huge blast of tobacco with some nice smooth under tones (thanks to the amber, tonka and castoreum). Oud itself hides very shyly in the background. Not as smooth as Tobacco Vanille, but still very nice. I’m not a big fan of tobacco as a fragrance note, so it is not for me, but if you like tobacco, then this is quite possibly the intense fragrance you’ve always been looking for.

So Tobacco Oud Intense… Just wow! I blind bought this fragrance and went on a whim. I have smelt the likes of Oud Wood, and the original Tobacco Oud, and I thoroughly enjoy both. Woody, dark, spicy scents are more my thing. So I found a guy who was doing a split. I bought a 10ml split which I just received today. This scent, is absolutely magnificent! It’s sweet in the opening but still has original Tobacco Oud DNA. I have not given this a full wear yet, but just smelling the juice on my fingers from unscrewing the sprayer from the bottle, is addicting.
I’d like to say this is a little on the gourmand side as far as I am aware. Just from smelling the juice alone, as I said it’s sweet but it’s not a cloying sweetness. Most definitely a evening scent. Fall and most definitely winter for this Tom Ford! Overall, I am very happy with my purchase and will try and get my hands on Oud Wood Intense. I skipped Fucking Fabulous due to some of the reviews claiming it smelt terrible. I’d rather smell woody and smokey anyways.
    10/10

No store in the entire state of Ohio currently carries this or has any clue when they will. Pisses me off cause it sounds great and i’d really like to consider it for the winter

Ok I bought this one and I have the original Tobacco Oud as well. So for people that are deciding to buy this. First off this is the first release of Tom Ford that does smell close to the original one (Tobacco Oud). Tobacco Oud Intense is more rich and less dry. It feels like there is this layer of gourmand richness over the original version of it. The notes are tobacco, oud, tonka bean, castoreum and raspberry. The opening is beautiful as well as the dry down. As it dries down you will have more of the smell of raspberry and smoky/oudy smell to it which works fantastic. It also has this animalic smell to it behind all the gourmand and the raspberry notes (castoreum) which makes this a masterpiece. The projection is strong but not beast mode like Oud Wood Intense, but I have to say it last for long time on your skin. I got at least 8 hours from it. This is definitely a must buy, if you are Tom Ford collector.
IMMERSIVE. TANTALIZING. HEIGHTENED. Tom Ford Tobacco Oud Intense unleashes a fiery force ignited by amplified concentrations of tobacco leaf and rare oud. Smoky and smooth, the mystical depths of Tobacco Oud intoxicate into a deeper realm of decadence.
An update on this. I have to say the more I wear this, the more I fall in love with this fragrance. Tobacco Oud Intense climbing up my chart very quickly.

Can someone confirm that this scent has a raspberry smell to it? That’s what I have heard, except there is no raspberry note in the breakdown.
I would love to smell this one!

Rarely does TomFord a simple intensification of his best seller by adding a word “Intense” to it. This is not an intensified version of Tobacco Oud, it is a completely new scent. Tom Ford never follows any trend in perfumery, he always brings what he thinks might be noir or outstanding.
It’s a hidden version of Amber Absolute – a beauty that has been discontinued due to the restrictions made on ambergris. Tobacco Oud Intense is a gorgeous, balsamic and ambery fragrance. In comparison to legendary Amber Absolute – more masculine due to the leathery notes. A true masterpiece.

The intense is prevalent in the oud.
    It’s a great fragrance!

If you know Mr Ford’s fragrances, you will know that the inclusion of Extreme or Intense in a scent’s title does in no way suggest that it is simply a new, stronger interpretation of an existing olfactory experience. Take for example Noir Extreme. This fragrance is a completely new imagination of the original, a scent that further explores the underlying themes of the original TF Noir for Men. Neroli Portofino Forte is another example. To me, this, and it’s original incarnation are two completely different imaginations of the classic Eau De Cologne genre. So when Mr Ford presents an Intense version of Tobacco Oud, it is safe to assume that it will be a unique and mesmerizing fragrance that both, pays homage to that which inspired it, yet stands with strength and conviction on it’s own merit.

Are people forgetting the Extreme for Men?
It’s good that y’all like the original Oud Wood, now let’s see this interpretation and judge it for ourselves when it comes out.
Yeah, it’s a cash grab…it’s a business. Now let’s either appreciate it or not.

TF enters the INTENSE range of fragrances. Say it ain’t so Tom !
Considering prices have gone up and quality has gone down in the house, I’d say this is the beginning of the end.
We love Tom Ford but you are breaking our hearts.

This to me is a masterpiece! If you love tobacco oud. This is even better. Huge earthy tobacco opening, then mellows to smokey, then the beautiful base.almost like tobacco oud crossed with amber absolute. I would say no improvement on sillage or longevity, but that is not what intense means.i love it.
