Description

French house of Romea D`Ameor introduced a collection of seven perfumes, which were inspired by secrets of beauty of famous women who played an important role and marked the history. These women are charismatic and radiate in full beauty. The perfumes were created in cooperation with perfumer Pierre Bourdon and they were named: The Princess of Venice, The Great Inca Priestesses, The Mistresses of Louis XIV, The Sovereigns of Egypt, The Great Empresses of Japan, The Secret Heroines of the Tsar, The Taj Mahal’s Eternal Love.

The Secret Heroines of the Tsar is a feminine fragrance full of self-esteem. It aims at extremely feminine women and hides a secret ingredient in its heart – Siberian baby woodrose flower. The perfume opens with a breeze of Italian lemon, grapefruit from Israel, with lemon sorbet, apple and melon. A heart blooms with Siberian baby woodrose, surrounded with jasmine, rose, lily of the valley and magnolia. Base notes incorporate iris, sandalwood, patchouli, caramel, amber, vanilla and musk. The Secret Heroines of the Tsar was launched in 2008.

Hell, fire and brimstone!! Where were you hiding all my life? This baby sent my head reeling, but it wasn’t immediate love, it grew slowly.
The initial spritz opened with a vague fruity, effervescent, blast of innocuous citruses and a very dry melon and I admit that I forgot about this perfume for a while as it seemed to disappear into oblivion.
Throughout the day I swear this fragrance develops into the most heavenly mixture of wonderful florals which are eventually enveloped by the sweetness of the vanilla and caramel and sealed with the woody notes of sandalwood. Patchouli features strongly in this composition and is eventually freshened with shades of musk.
This perfumes is not a sprint, it’s a marathon and you have to be in for the long haul.
The end result is a gentle, sweet, beautiful and classy fragrance.
I put this in the same category as a Frederic Maille perfume in terms of class, quality of ingredients and sheer beauty.
I am in true love and it’s going to last. This is not a phase I’m going through, it’s the real thing!
    Longevity 8+ hours
Silage: this is a loyal subject, it sits very close to the skin and doesn’t more.

Surprisingly interesting decant, – thanks to veda
Reading oriental-floral..mmm..on me its oriental FRUITY-floral. But aquatic vibe doesnt let it to slip into edible category. Nicely “done” melon with magnolia -first what appears on my skin, patchoili and apple next and caramelly iris and sandalwood at the bottom.
I wrote it for strict purpose of how it is on me but I guess it will be different for each person anyway as its hard to describe one.
In few words – breezy fruity-floral oriental, exotic and tropical possibly coz of unusual note of “meringue”
I love the name of this fragrance)

This is a very well done floral perfume, I do not agree with the notes listed as most noticeable here on fragrantica, but maybe that’s just me. I do not any vanilla and caramel out of “The Secret Heroines of the Tsar”. Speaking of the name – I also do not get the Russia resemblance. Nor the secret one.
This is a very safe floral perfume, dominated by melon and rose at the opening with a beautiful patchouli background. The heart part brings fresh and aquatic vibes from magnolia . This is also the part where this creation gets slightly musky , but in very moderate doses. It also seems a bit sour and heavy at this part, but it never gets disturbing.
As it develops, I start to get jasmine and L-O-V making this sparkle, still all trough the perfume is the patchouli vibe, which is the cold kind of patchouli as in JHAG – Lady Vengeance, not the dirty/earthy one.
Even though one might say that patchouli is very noticeable here, I do not think that patchouli dislike-rs will have a hard time wearing this.
Silage is very good, it radiates rather heavy, but does not overpower everything, lasting power is also decent. So I think this is a full bottle worthy. It retails for around 100$ on discount stores and is worth every penny for someone looking for an elegant floral with cold vibes underneath.

Roméa D’Améor LES ESPIONNES DU TSAR is a slightly sweet, woody floriental with a touch of patchouli, or so it seems… Like LES SOUVERAINES D’EGYPTE, this is a mild oriental—no hard-hitting incense, myrrh, oudh, or what have you, just a touch of spice and sweetness mingling together harmoniously—and inoffensively. LES ESPIONNES DU TSAR is not as watery as LES SOUVERAINES, which makes it slightly more appealing to me, but I still feel that somehow Pierre was holding back in this creation, perhaps trying to be too polite. On the other hand, if this perfume is truly to evoke the spirit of the Tsar’s female spies, they’d have to be pretty sly—and subtle in order to ply their trade. I like but do not love this composition, although there is nothing wrong with it beyond its lack of over-the-top slay-me-with-your-sensuality demeanor. All in all, a well-behaved oriental, which could easily be worn by those who partake primarily of members of the ORIFF (office-ready fruity-floral frag!) category.
Now please excuse me while I take leave to apply some Kenzo JUNGLE L’ELEPHANT… 3.28.11

This opens with a blast of sweet fruitiness which quickly does down and leaves me with mint. All I can smell for ages is mint that gradually gets softer and softer. Not loving it at this stage.

I just tested a sample of this and I must say I am glad it’s only a sample. It’s not awful, don’t get me wrong, but in my opinion it’s not special either. It’s very warm and apple-ish, I agree with Mellybee here – but also very sweet, to me nearly sickly and somehow cheap smelling (under no circumstance would I expect this price!). I must admit that I was almost close to enjoying it for a brief moment, but I have only applied tiny bit with that plastic spatula in the sample and I am pretty sure: just a drop more and I would find it really annoying. Somehow it reminds me of stewing very fragrant apples for so long that the liquid has evaporated and the caramelized sugar has started to burn… then you get this strong smell that tends to linger forever and that’s what I am getting from this fragrance. It also reminds me of various “cheerful” cheaper fruity/sweet/flowery scents that are aimed at young girls. The description at Luckyscent.com says that this fragrance is dripping with intensity, sweetness and intrique and I think that’s precisely it! Perfectly said! Not for me.

The red apple note in the beginning is lovely and delicious, but it’s accompanied by a slightly medicinal note that reminds me of the plum note I don’t like in other perfumes. I think this note gives effect of coolness that Rebella writes about, but I wish this perfume didn’t have it and I could enjoy the red apple note longer.
The cold doesn’t last for a long time though, leaving for a slightly warmer drydown which is indeed caramel, sweet and salty at the same time, and while it’s sweet and gourmand, it doesn’t make you feel like eating your own hand and doesn’t make you think that you smell like a confection.
This perfume reminds me strongly of Couture Couture by Juicy Couture, although given the years of production it should be the other way around. I happened to test Couture first, and as a result the Heroines smelled very familiar — a similar slightly medicinal plum note in the beginning and then a sweet pleasant drydown. A red apple note in the beginning and caramel rather than chocolaty vanilla in the drydown makes this perfume better and more original, but neither of the two is my favorite.

The opening is very red apple-ish, but once it is over, you can enjoy a warm and gentle scent, which is in my opinion more woody than floral. There is something in it what makes it similar to the Bvlgari Eau Parfumee au The Rouge. When I sniff into this perfume a film comes into my mind: Alexander Sokurov’s “Russian Ark”; a single, continuous shot that takes you through St Petersburg’s Hermitage museum into the dark recesses of Russian history. A lovely everyday scent with the feeling of wearing something unique.

While my favourites among the Romea D’Ameor fragrances are warm, this one is more of a cold fragrance. I am surprised that there isn´t any mint, menthol or eucalyptus among the notes. There isn´t that much of that crisp, cold and fresh smell, but just enough to actually make me think of the cold, snowcovered plains of Siberia. I am not really a fan of fresh and a bit airy perfumes, but considering this I do enjoy The Secret Heroines as much as any other fragrance I have tried in the same cathegory. It is really welldone, feels luxourios and comforting. If you are on the look for a high-class, fresh and floral fragrance, this could be it. Give it a try, and then wait and try it again. A little hard to be familiar with, but when you are, you will be rewarded. The basenote is very pleasant and longlasting.
