Now I am not a follower or any clone company’s so I have no ties at all! How people can say this is nearly identical to roja E is beyond me. It’s maybe 80% at most, the smoothness isn’t there at all, it has a different vibe and this can be seen as a scent on its own without having the clone name attached to it, yes it has similarities but this is because it has nearly the same notes in it so its not hard. I am not saying it’s not a nice scent because it is and also very wearable but it is ny no means anywhere near as close as some people are saying. I can’t help but think these peoples either know masham or support him, this site is supposed to be for honest reviews. I would say 7:10 for overall scent but 6/10 for being a clone of enigma.

This is a great fragrance. It reminds me of a niche fragrance but I can’t think of it at the moment. Regarding the controversy about this company, get over it people. In my honest opinion, I think this company represents an outstanding take on fragrances at an affordable price. So what if they are clones! Present objective opinions, not propaganda.
The bottom line is “The Mobster” is an excellent scent. I have received so many compliments at work about this fragrance. I am an active duty military soldier (going on 30 years of service) and I when I wear this fragrance I feel energized and super masculine. My wife loves this scent…it is worth a try, for sure. I own over 300 bottles of various men’s fragrances; this is by far one of the best in my collection. Just FYI…I’ve been collecting fragrances since 1996! That’s a long time my friends.

There seems to be a lot of controversy around this house. My take is simple… If you do not like this house, do not buy their fragrances, problem solved. Having said that. let’s leave the reviews on fragrantica to the fragrances themselves and leave the drama out of it.
So what is my review of this fragrance? I am glad you asked…
The Mobster is a boozy, sweet, tobacco with whiskey and patchouli. Although not listed, I am getting a little floral as well. All of the note I love. A sweet fragrance without being cloying.
A very well blended scent, with great projection and longevity on my skin. Thais can be worn in a sports coat or trendy casual.
A lot of comparisons to other well known scents. While I can see some minor similarities to other scents, I do not find this a clone of any other scent.
Bottom line: If you like masculine scents you should try a sample of this one.. machine gun, whiskey and cigar optional

There has been a lot of controversy surrounding this house due to What some view as “cheap smelling” or “copy cat oils made in bathtubs” . I will agree that some of these frags are dopplegangers for others, incredibly they somehow manage to smell better than the original with better performance in most cases..Now on to the mobster the OG of the “mobster” series this is not a clone this is purely an original . Smells boozy & spicy with wafting cigar smoke just like a 70’s wiseguy, and I enjoyed the story of how the creator developed the scent and came up with the name.. Another honorable mention would go to flanker “An evening with the mobster” smells identical to “Creation E by Roja dove” I mean identical!!!! Maybe a little creamier, sweeter, and more boozy, performance is off the charts.. I dont usually purchase or endorse clones, but in this case given the price tag of “Creation E” which is like $500, and Duas version at $60 it made sense ( they made me an offer that I couldnt refuse) and I’m not mad at the purchase, and love the scent and performance..Overall don’t listen to nay sayers and haters, try for yourself.. I’ve purchased at least 6 fragrances from the house and haven’t been disappointed yet.. The mobster is one of my favorite scents for cold weather.. And “An evening with’the mobster” is just phenomenal fuggettaboutitt!!!

The perfume opened up a littly boozy, with woody notes accompanied by heavy spicy notes. The opening stays strong, for a few minutes, then starts balancing itself out. It’s the balancing part where tobacco comes into picture, and gives this perfume a gourmandish sweetness.
Tobacco, wood, spicy notes and whiskey, will stay together for a while, and will make you love this juice. After around half hour mark, tobacco will subside, and you will have woody notes, mixed with spicy stuff, and whiskey.
This is how the perfume will stay from now on. The spicy notes sometimes becoming heavy, and sometimes playing in the background, but never leaving the scene.
I feel this is somewhat similar to Valentino Uomo intense, and I also feel there’s iris in there some where, however, iris is not mentioned in notes, and that surprised me.
The performance is pretty amazing – I got 12+ hours performance on clothes. The scent projects pretty well for initial few hours and then becomes a skin scent. But you can definitely feel it on you, and don’t need to make efforts to feel it’s presence.
I found this scent to be pretty good. I guess it’s more suitable for cooler environments, I wore it yesternight at 36 degrees, and it did perform. I can only imagine what it will do in cooler weather.
    As per me:
    Perfume – 8/10
    Performance – 9/10
It’s definitely worth trying. And if you like spicy perfumes, you might love this one.

First thing I would like to say is “shame on the liars”. You know who you are.
Now, you can believe who you want to believe but, I actually do own three Dua fragrances which I purchased with my own money; “An Evening with the Mobster”, “Poseidon’s Elixir”, and “King’s Precious Oud” all three are exceptional. High quality, long lasting, and great silage.
Believe it or not it’s up to you.

I agree with FrozenSolid these are cheap smelling perfumes. It reminds me of 4 dollar bottles of essential oils i put in my plug dispenser. Room scents and nothing wrong with that except the price. Presentation has a lot of room for improvement as well.
    Scent: 3/10
    Longevity: 5/10
    Sillage: 5/10
    Cost ratio: 0/10
    Overall: 3.25/10
Banal scent for an astronomical price.

Quite incredible the passion that this fragrance has created. I think people are over-reacting. Everyone is entitled to their opinion either pro or con. Some will love or hate it. Its ok. The world is not coming to an end. Sheesh!! I tried Mobster and really did not care for it. It smelled like a cheap oil based fragrance. Reminds me of Man Made Tobbaco 18.21. My housekeeper is a pro at deciphering notes in cologne. Whenever I buy something new whether sample or full bottle, I have her smell it. She never smelled Aventus before and she got every note in Aventus. My jaw hit the floor when she rattled them off. She also loved Tom Ford Grey Vetiver, Bel Ami Vetiver, Dolce & Gabbana (Italian Version), Bleu de Chanel, Tom Ford Tuscan Leather. She said Mobster smelled cheap along with Man Made. However, my fiancé loves them both as room fresheners. So, there it is. No big deal. The sky is not falling. People need to get a grip and grow up.

Listen… I understand there was a lot of controversy going on… But if you can’t write an objective review, don’t. Give a review on the actual fragrance.. A lot of people are shitting on these fragrances just to do it. I know from looking at the ratings on a DUA I did try desert reflection. The rating was bullshit. It was actually a very good fragrance and I have a feeling the same is going to be true with this one. Be objective or gtfo.

I’ve done side by side comparisons with some of their stuff, and it’s a hit or miss, but never “diluted”; most of them are actually stronger than the original (although lack some quality). Some of them are so close (especially to an average nose) at first impression you’d say they’re “identical”! They might say, “Heck I like to smell good, but it’s not the most important thing in my life so I’ll settle for this, still far better than most commercial stuff anyway” or “I’ll save the two-three hundred dollar bottle for special occasions and use this casually.” They are good substitutes for people who want varieties or smell like certain scents (whether they already have it or not) without breaking bank.
Apple Brandy by Killian is $290/50ml (or refill $190/50ml) vs. $50/30ml ($100/60ml)
Tom Ford is $220/50ml ($300/100ml) vs. $100/60ml ($150/90ml); even if you buy it on eBay, they usually run $150/50ml & $200/100ml, below those you risk getting fake ones which smell NOTHING like the original (I’ve gotten TWO!)
They even have Roja copies! Now they might not be that close but you still get the resemblance and you’re saving at least $200.
Some of you have never tried it (judging a book by its cover) and some just bought the wrong ones (judging by an not-so-good excerpt). There are just too many haters for absolutely no reason.

If perfume is an artform, this is kitsch at its very finest.
Generic bottles, tacky labels, names such as ‘mobster’ and ‘hustle.’ Photo’s taken with Rolls Royces (inside the showroom). Everything about this brand screams a lack of quality and care.
These are cheap arabian oil replica’s of popular fragrances, diluted by 50% and marked up by 200%, sent to a bunch of youtubers for free so it gains some momentum.
If this stuff seriously sells, I think I might start my own perfume company and call it ‘Legend Perfume’ or something ridiculous.
I’ll buy 10 litres of Aventus oil, add birch tar, dilute with alcohol and call it ‘Aventador’
C’mon guys this ‘house’ is a complete sham

FORGET ABOUT THIS ONE; they are making a lot of good fragrances (including dupes) now!
There are now 3 other versions of The Mobster (all smell completely different) and my favorite is An Evening with the Mobster, which is supposed to smell like Roja’s Creation-E/Enigma Pour Homme…and it does! Although it only captured Enigma’s top and middle, it’s still legit and special. I never even knew people copied Roja, let along anything successful. I mean I just saved $300 for a small difference!!
*Fragrantica needs some serious updates on this brand, as they’ve had copies of Roja’s Aoud, Amber Aoud, and even Apple Brandy by Killian! There are obvious differences when compared side by side, but they’ve captured the essences–especially the middle–quite well.

I own this one as well as Sweet Tabacum from the same house. I can hardly make the difference between them.
Both of them are so sweet frags (IMO), but I was expecting more dry Tobacco notes which is not the case.
You can smell the quality in, very long lasting and strong projection. For cold days use.
If you are interested for a full bottle of any of them or both (3 or 4 sprays less just for test), you can message me.

Well now that the hype has died down maybe I can try reviewing this again. Probably doesnt hurt that I was sent another bottle as apparently what I got originally was messed up(and well how could it not be, it was spraying out foam, and I could barely smell anything but anyway). So lets go off of what ive had now…
So like some other reviewers I got a heavy woody scent. Perhaps try to visualize this as, theres a aroma of cherry tobacco say in the air, and you have this huge slab of wood, and then you take your well for sake of argument since the notes are whisky lets say some very fruity whisky, and we pour it all over this slab wood. Totally drench it, and then the wood soaks it up. And the wood is almost shiny, like the drink has sorta given it a waxy, clean, varnish finish if you will. And then we throw a bit of spice in the air to tickle our nose. But the whole time again the main thing your smelling is this wood, like we just didnt have enough “whisky” to overpower the wood and make it sweet, so its inevitably kinda dry smelling.
And as it dries down a sorta creamy patchouli comes out.
Does this make sense? maybe not. But to me it does since I wrote it lol.
Heres the thing I think it smells good, and I really enjoy the opening, but for me personally I also really like scents that are snuggly, and I dislike dry fragrances. And this for me isnt something that I felt was snuggly because of this fact, the dryness of it, and this sorta, waxy, almost screechy quality of the wood note makes it something although I like the smell of it, I dont want to bury my head in my arm while smelling it and fall a sleep.
So for me its just a nice scent, not a great one…
Compliment wise I have gotten a lot of compliments on this actually. As a matter of fact about the only people who didnt like it, were people that thought it smelled to dry, or even powdery smelling. But in general this has been very well received.
Performance wise, well I still dont know what the other reviewers were saying when this first came out about it being a bomb and exploding off of their skin. But other wise performance was good/fine, and obviously much better than what I got the first time which was very weak if anything.
Also again this smells nothing like TO, so dunno why some people were saying its a clone. If anything its smells more like TV than TO imo.

A generic scent that gives 1 Million vibe. It would be just OK for people between 15 and 18 years.

Wow this one is generating so much “controversy” that multiple (one very long) BN threads have been deleted! The gist of it seems to be that there is strong evidence that this company uses inexpensive fragrance oils to create their scents, but that doesn’t mean they don’t smell good. I suggest buying an inexpensive fragrance oil that is a “dupe” for TF’s TO (do a google or ebay search), and then see if you like that to the point that you don’t need to spend anything more. I haven’t tried any of these fragrance oil “dupes” but I might do so one of these days (I already have enough fragrances of this type and in general). I’ve got a bottle of 18.21 Man Made Sweet Tobacco Spirits, and that’s the one I would recommend, of this genre.

Save your money. You can get Royal Oud Dello Yemen for as little as $18 for 100ml on eBay (shipped to US from seller in Poland), and matching body wash is available for relatively little on Amazon. Same scent done better IMO. Side by side comparisons to my nose reveal a DUA that has almost a fish-like vibe to it. (I would add that that effect is not present when I am not directly comparing the DUA to the Royal.)
I bought a couple of DUA fragrances and am astonished how overrated (and overpriced) they are. The Bois Oud isn’t any more impressive to me that Jovan Intense Oud (though it is more cloying), and Mobster seemed like a lower quality version of something I had already purchased for much less money.
There are plenty of examples of well-crafted ouds that justify a $1+/ml price tag. DUA, at least in my experience, isn’t one of them.

  18. :

The Mobster is a darn good fragrance.I get mostly Tobacco and oud with some patchouli with hints of spice and the whole thing has a boozy vibe going for it ( I am guessing the whisky note) so the name is kinda apt. I can picture the whole Cigars n booze n 20’s speakeasies, like a scene out of Boardwalk Empire. I love it when a fragrance has a theme and tells a story, adds to the whole aura and this has a nice macho one going for it.
Performance is very good, stays pretty strong on for atleast 5-6 hours before settling a bit but I keep getting whiffs even 10 hours in. All this with 3 sprays so very impressed. It does have a boozy tobacco vibe so if you like Tom Fords Tobacco Vanille or Phaedons Tabac Rouge and others of their ilk, check this out. Keep an open mind and judge the perfume ( not the perfumer or the house ) on it’s own merits and I think you will be pleasantly surprised. This House gets a lot of heat and to my nose at least they have a few gems and this is one of them. I am getting a second bottle of this juice. It’s fantastic. 9/10

I get the almond based note too in all three Dua fragrances i own. And yes it is the oils. Basically they sell copycat oils of hyped fragrances, like they do in lots of middle eastern countries (once you put a slightly different name on the bottle, the law allows it)and thats all with the so called Dua house. So im sure that this guy dosnt even know how to create a fragrance from scratch and unfortunately almost the whole fragrance community got fooled. This guy found a clever way to make some money. He actually over charges simple clone oils that anybody can buy from several dealers.

My goodness, I’m really wondering if people are placing these fragrances side by side when saying they smell like each other. Tobacco Oud on one hand this on the other as a blind buy (first hour) impression. No. Tobacco Oud is better but that’s subjective as its my favorite Tom Ford fragrance ever made. It runs in the same vein but nowhere near a copy.
This fragrance does smell better than a lot of stuff that has come out recently in this category. It’s quite nice . It’s sweet booze and Oud with some soft incense s going on . I have noticed it wanting to change and develop over time (last hour) there are definitely some higher quality natural oils being used here I can tell and for the price (with looking feeling smelling greats code LFSG15) $38 shipped I will have to say, not a bad blind buy.
The concentration is borderline extrait. I mean my hand is still shining!!
This is a no brainier if you like darker scents.
I’m a straight shooter as I have nothing to loose or gain by telling my opinion
    Scent 8/10
    Quality 8.5/10
    Longevity TBD
    Projection 9/10
Over all I would recommend this to a friend
    Edit update***
I’ve given this a full wearing and it’s OK. I honestly expected more due to the amount of hype this one has been getting. I own all the niche fragrances that people are stating this to be like or in the same category and no. Them fragrances cost much much more for a reason. I’ll leave it at that. This is not a bad smelling fragrance, but it’s just a typical sweet tobacco fragrance that has average quality essential oils being used. Nothing to hype any more at this point. I am curious to see what the others smell like.

Peeck below has hit it spot on. The carrier oil really comes through in a creamy gross/cheap kind of way. I’ve been searching for that familiarity and it was from craft fair hippy perfumes. I kind of agree with the people on basenotes that this guy must just be buying ready made cheap fragrances and filling bottles since no one would use that type of carrier oil at this price point, it’s too amateurish

I’ve received two DUA Fragrances this morning… and one of them was DUA Mobster and Hmmmm…
Forgive me! If I am off base with this review… But, NO ONE on youtube or the fragrance blogs has talked about this aspect of these DUA fragrances that I will get into below…
My first impressions were mixed… The thing not very many people are mentioning is that these Fragrances from DUA are 1 oz sprayers of 50% deluded fragrance oils. If you have ever tried Perfume/Fragrance roll-on oils like from “CommonScents” I’m finding that DUA kind of has the same vibe and sillage… NOT GOOD… I will admit DUA fragrances are a higher quality for sure… but, they just seem to have that same off putting creamy almond like base that lasts about 4 hours into the drydown. I think this has something to do with the carrier oils they are using. I’m wondering if anyone else is getting this?… Another Idea I’m having is that this may be the effect of not being aged… Dua Fragrances.com are saying that you need to let these fragrance oils breath for two weeks before the fragrance matures. Am I wrong here? I mean people are talking like this is just the best thing since sliced bread in the FRAG WORLD… I was expecting a real beast power house fragrance. Not for me… at this point in time.
As far as the fragrance goes, once I can get through that almond base vibe which I think is the oil… Ya, I think it smells quite nice. It just performs too much like the Fragrance/Perfume oils which I’ve had bad results with…
At least with the juice that I have of Mobster I find it to be rather weak.
The other bottle of DUA that I have is Smoked Rosa Tabacum. And with this fragrance it is a beast! I think the Perfume oils in this one are so strong they mask most of that Almond / Carrier oil vibe I described above. The almond vibe is still there but “Oh Might” the rose is so powerful and it blends with the smokey note. Its not an incense smoke like the notes you find in normal perfumes. Its a scent you get from Natural Essential Oils…
My verdict at this time is this house DUA FRAGRANCES are selling basically high quality Essential Oils. Now as long as the Perfume oil part of the mixture is a really crazy strong it is going to perform very well for longevity. But, as for sillage not as good as if the fragrances were maybe made with alcohol. As what most people are used to using…
I will edit this review if I get different results in the next few weeks.

Pains me to say this, as ive talked to the guy, and he was nice. But this is getting a pass for me. I guess theres some dua batch variations going on, because although a lot of people are saying they get good longevity and its a beast whatever. Which really now, for a house that is supposedly mostly clones, that is the selling point right? Powerful versions of scents you love. Well.. this was weak as hell on me. Basically a skin scent. And dont tell me I didnt spray a lot because I gave myself some hefty sprays. From others ive talked to as well, some of them recieved some suspect bottles as well. I guess the excuse is that the dude is understandably busy, theyre getting a lot of hype right now and cant keep up with the demand and have shipped some not I guess correctly “aged” whatever you want to call it bottles.
But you know at the end of the day, I can only review with what I got. And what I got was something that smelled nice, but then was almost completely gone, and a skin scent in every sense of the words.. it smells good, but I cant justify the price for something like this as remember this is more than a dollar a ml at the end of the day.
Maybe youll get lucky and get a better one. Like I said sorry to say, the dude is nice when I talked to him, but its hard to justify skin scents so…
For what its worth, to my nose this is a original fragrance though, I wore tobacco oud recently just to rejog my memory in prep for this as some have said this is a clone, and its not. This is its own thing. And I would say almost insulting to the mobster because the mobster is much better smelling, performance obviously much with standing though of course.

  24. :

    4 out of 5

As far as the DUA fragrances I’ve tried, this one is head ‘n’ shoulders above the others. Ironic that an original composition was better received than a bevvy of clones and unapologetic copies of popular fragrances. I must say the Mobster is complex, the opening is a very impressive (I did say “wow!” before I even sniffed it as the cloud found me first.) and special combination of dense tobacco, heavy woods and a non sickly honey note, oh and with boozy spices too. It does venture into the cherry tobacco territory of Pure Havane, with the obvious Tom Ford Tobacco vanille/Tobacco Oud comparisons as well. The main thing I get as it settles is a very natural, green, grassy, patchouli which reminded me of slightly damp and beginning to compost grass. It took me back to summer evenings as a teenager, laying on the grass at the park, with hints of tobacco and booze.
There’s oud in here too, but not middle eastern, never resinous I think the sweetness of dried fruits and honey perfectly accent this stuff and even point to of Parfums de Marly Herod and even a bit of Oajan.
Despite all these glaringly obvious comparisons The Mobster stands out to me as a really unique and interesting composition which progresses nicely smelling different throughout the wear.
The drydown is a glorious close warm, woody, sweet tobacco and I found it a pleasure to wear. The kind of performance you’d expect, without being too strong or cloying I can’t fault this fragrance at all.

  25. :

    4 out of 5

This is my initial impressions from a Decant.
In the opening Mobster is similar to Tobacco oud(TO) however the difference is this smoother then TO whereas TO is more drier then Mobster. This opening and similarity last for hour or so then both the perfumes take different direction IMO.
As Mobster starts to settle down you dont smell any tobacco and its more of Sandalwood and Whiskey note which become dominant whereas in TO tobacco plays the part through out its journey . In my opinion they both should be treated as different scent and Mobster is no clone of any frag . I preferred opening of mobster however TO is much better in Dry down as per my taste . Here are my ratings
    Smell : 7.5/10
    Projection :8.5/10
    Longevity :8.5/10
    Versatile : 6/10
    Complexity : 7/10
Will i buy mobster ? Probably not as i already own TO and weather in India does not allow for too much of heavy frags so i wont and specially considering price of 45$ of 30 ML (7.5/10)

The First Blast is Definitely More Similar to Pure Malt But Much harsher in a Good Way. Imagine Malt Opening 5 Times Strong.
    – Just For Few Minutes and Dry Downs To:
But Hold On! Within a Minute , A Sweet Gourmand Vibe Kicks In .. Reminding of Similar DNA as of Guerlains SDV or Cuir Beluga(Atleast to me and what i can Symbolize with.)
    – For 4-5 Hours of Wearing
After 5 Hours Its a Skin Scent but I don’t have to Sniff My Hand too Close. It is Very Subtle Combo of Patchouli , Sandalwood . – reminds me of Bottega Veneta Essence Aromatiques Plus Oud.
Overall – 9 Hrs and Still On Skin.
Considering Potions Like TV/TL Gives Max 6 Hrs. On My Skin.
    This is Amazingly Potent Stuff.
I am not a Notes-Nerd…But Here i Can Clearly Identify ,That Shows the Quality of the Scent.
P.S. : Dua Fragrances are now Available in India at Perfumery.Co.In

Outstanding fragrance that hits all the right notes. It has a rich boozy tobacco opening and brightens up into a more fresh version of the opening from the mid to the dry down. This one is fantastic.

I received The Mobster today along with Pursuit of Happiness which is not listed on Fragrantica yet!! Upon first impression on The Mobster, very unique and definitely nisch quality juice. Though it slightly reminds me of Tobacco Vanille Tom Ford just a hint! Imagine TV but without that harsh sweetness from vanilla. Although I like TV as well. I think I already prefer this one to TV and I can see myself wearing It in cooler weather day/night, Dressed up/casual.

This is a very unique and original scent. It opens up with tobacco and woods with a splash of booziness. The quality is readily apparent and this is blended to perfection. The tobacco is the freshest I’ve smelled. I don’t know that a mobster would actually smell like this. I think a truly distinguished gent would be more deserving to carry this aroma on his person. I mistakenly wore this on a warm day and the projection was staggering. This is more of a fall and winter scent. Longevity was very good at around 10 hours or so. This is one of DUA’s most popular scents, but when it comes to tobacco, Sweet Tabacum is my pick. However, don’t sleep on this one. It’s popular for a reason. It’s wonderful.

I tried out The Mobster from Dua Fragrances today.
As I expected, I wasn’t wowed away by it and I knew this would be the case right from the moment I ordered it.
This isn’t because the fragrance itself is bad, no, not the case at all. It’s actually fantastic and I’m getting a rich tobacco-sandalwood combo out of it. However, the weather in Dubai right now is not really compatible with the notes and I feel that I cannot judge this one properly right now. In a cold, air-conditioned environment, I love the scent. However, the moment I get out and the humidity hits, the Mobster feels very cloying!
Can’t wait for winter to get here before I give this one a proper chance to shine! It’s a 7/10 for me right now!
Longevity and projection are absolutely wonderful though! It’s been 5 hours since I put it on and it’s still going strong with just 3 sprays. The tobacco note really stands out.
To get an idea of what I am talking about, the other scents I think similarly about right now in the summer are: DHI, M7 Pure Malt and La Yuqawam.
Edit: The Mobster has totally won me over in these past few days. For some reason, I keep spraying a tiny bit on my wrist each night before bed simply because of how good it smells when it’s drying down. This one is an easy 10/10 and I know what I’ll be wearing a lot come winter!
