Description
The Milesian School of thought was based on observations of everyday natural phenomena. They introduced logical reasoning, as opposed tomythological explanations as a basis for explaining the universe. The Milesian school of thought marks the beginning of western philosophy and represents the shift from mythology to philosophies based on knowledge and science. The three philosophers of the Milesian School were Thales, Anaximander and Anaximenes.
Thales is widely regarded as the father of Western philosophy. His most famous philosophical position was his cosmological thesis as he sought to answer his own question of “What is the origin of all matter in this world?” He concluded that water is the single material substance from which all things originate.
The second philosopher, Anaximander, theorized that the phenomenon of water transforming into air, and air returning to form water, evidenced the presence ofapeíron- an undefined element from which all things originate. This indefiniteness drives the rise and fall of all things within the continuum of time.
The third philosopher, Anaximenes, observed the natural processes of rarefaction and condensation and hypothesized that air is the primary element of all things. This is because as air condenses, it metamorphoses into mist, rain and other states of matter, which go on to form the earth and ultimately stones.
Water is like a witness of things past. It can express a depth of emotions or embody the mysteries of science.A collection of matter transforms itself into a river of water. The river winds itself across boundaries and water flows through each land and plain. Should water be the basic element of all things, then our stories can be recounted with a single drop of water. “Our daily lives are linked closely to water, but do we listen out for its simplicity?” In the hustle and bustle of our lives, let us stand still for a moment and pay attention to the clarity and calm of that stream of flowing water. The Milesian School 米利都学派 was launched in 2014.

During my trip to China in early 2017, I discovered RE Classified, which tries to brand their perfumes as the salon perfumes from China for the Chinese market. Being told it’s a young brand, I was impressed by the varieties of perfumes they already have launched in the market. I sprayed the Milesian School on a paper, and tested Ikebana and Inner Peace on my skin. Ikebana as a sakura floral fragrance has a heavy silage but gave me headache very quickly. Inner Peace is amazing but out of stock in both shops I visited. In the end, I decided to get Milesian School to give a try.
The brand tends to write very beautiful stories to market their perfumes but the juice is the only thin matters to me. RE Classified tells very little about where their ingredients come from. I was told that all their perfumes are made in Shanghai. Anyway, the Milesian School is a great aquatic floral perfume. It performs very stable and quickly became one of my favourites for daytime. I don’t think the fragrance matches the story written for it * not very philosopher*. It’s very linear and it stays an aquatic lotus with slightly spiciness from the black pepper. In fact I think it’s a good thing as RE Classified did a great job making it very realistic Chinese lotus. I can imagine a white lotus blossoming in an October night. It gives freshness and a level of saltiness for the aqua.
I got my 80ml bottle for 310 RMB, which is about 43 euro. For a 5 hour longevity and a heavy silage, I’m pretty pleased.
