Description
Davidoff launches The Game in 2012, inspired by gambling games with the design of the bottle reminiscent of poker chips. The Game Intense was launched a year after the original. In the winter of 2014, the collection is joined by a new member in the form of the new fragrance The Brilliant Game.
The Brilliant Game is announced as hot and addictive scent of a charismatic man. The composition is oriental – woody. It opens with fresh accord of Americano cocktail (which is made of Campari, Vermouth and soda water), which leads to the woody heart of cedar and the warm base of tonka bean.
The bottle is decorated with gold details and highlights. The fragrance is available as of November 2014 as 40, 60 and 100 ml Eau de Toilette.
The nose behind this fragrance is Jacques Huclier.

Campari, soda, a bit of dry hay (a la the Intense flanker) and Bob’s your uncle. Not much else for me.
Pleasant but weak and nothing to “Wow!” you.
Innofensive, forgettable and a good reach for daytime.
Would appeal to a younger audience. I’m fifty and feel a bit of a clown wearing it other than for myself which is hardly a critism of the juice.
Appalling longevity and projection. Sterling performance for an hour at most.
Despite the apparent tone of this impression I’d say this is definitely worth the money.

If you have a poker addiction, do NOT buy this bottle! It looks like a stack of chips and could trigger you, LOL.
This bottle is gorgeous, black and gold, and feels manly AF in your hand. The juice is cozy, sexy and warm – lots of tonka, and some citrusy sharp undertones to keep you alert. I can’t wait to wear this in cold weather.
This would be a great frag for a young guy on a budget (I obtained my 2oz/60ml bottle at Shoppers Drug Mart for 19.99), so go ahead and spray away! The creator is the same man who created Angel Pure Tonka. Pretty pleased with this buy. As a woman, I would love to cuddle up with a man wearing this.
alexma1m – :
Nice , Sweet Fragrance good to use in cold weather. This fragrance carve me to eat sugar 🙂
qaa465speagoessenda – :
damn! this juice smells really good. extremely sweet. Malaysian people just love this one.
uxu636speagoessenda – :
I’ve tested this in cold weather only.
I get a berry fresh opening that is quite unique and lasts 15 mins. The rest is incredibly played out among other fragrances. T.o.n.k.a with cedar but switch out the usual amber for caramel and then add hay instead of patchouli.
I can’t tell the difference between this and golden secret after 30 mins, but this is sweeter in the opening. It projects much more though and is better blended. It reminds me a bit of jay z gold too but mainly in style as oppose to scent.
I like it and have many in my collection that are similar. My favourite in this genre is one million and for that reason I would recommend trying the original game over this. It’s more interesting.

Ugh, Coty literally should receive class-action lawsuits for plagiarizing themselves…again. This time, it’s with a watered-down Joop Homme Wild. Can’t win, that one’s too heavy, this one’s too mild. I don’t “love it” because they punked off another scent. One could even find traces of Lancome’s ‘Hypnose.
roman111 – :
First off, i have 15 perfumes in my cabinet amd this is one of my favorites. If you like sweet scents, it is a must have for your collection. Longevity is awesome at 6 hours and i get compliments from ladies. It is very appealing and attractive to girls. No regrets in blind buying this piece!
prizrak1205 – :
First off this would be an amazing fragrance IMO…if it wasn’t for that fucking Hay note!
OMG!
Anyway if you liked Polo Red or Polo Red Intense…
You’ll like this one…Minus the Hay note, you’ll get some enjoyment out of this. I see someone wearing this at the company party/get together. Date scent, signature worthy.
But is a very good scent…it gives you a fruity Cocktail vibe. Which i love, anyway take care.
I used six sprays…both wrist, back & front of my neck, chest and front of my shirt.
Will I buy this again?…No.

The design of the bottle itself is great, one of the best I’ve had so far, looks good and feels good in the hand, the atomiser is a bit weak though. The fragrance itself is surprisingly good, the opening is a dead ringer for CH Men Carolina Herrera and the dry down for Dior Homme Intense. Very pleasant and uplifting fragrance with great longevity and sillage, opens with a nice fruity orange like blast with a bit of spice and drys down to that warm sweet cashmere/caramel like smell that Dior Homme Intense(YSL also has something similar smelling) is know for. Few fragrances last very long on my skin but surprisingly enough this lasts rather well, it ranks amongst the best in my collection in that regard.
If you can get it cheap I would get it without even thinking about it. Great blind buy…those famous last words 😀 😉

When you are on a tight budget and you go out a lot, this is an amazing bang for your buck…
If you like Versace Eros, One Milion, Dior Homme intense and that type of “sweet” fragrances, you’ll be in love with this one also.(and you can find it wayy cheaper than those fragrances as it’s not popular as much)
(and it’s not trying to clone any of those mentioned fragrances)
Yes its “heavy” sweet and that, but that’s the thing with fragnances that are ment for clubbing, going out and wanting to be there…It’s not ultra powerfull like One Milion nor does it have the longevity and projection of Eros but it sure is saying “Hey girl, i’m here, let’s get to know each other” in a polite way.
The girls just want to come closer to you to smell you,not like one milion where she would be dead if she tryed to smell you up close…
If you find it for 25-35$ just go for it, you can’t go wrong.
Night-Winter-Fall-going out-date fragnance
scent : 9.5/10
sillage : 7/10(on my skin Eros(which is monster) also projects poorly)
longevity :7/10
Overall : 8/10

Had this scent for a week now – don’t really know what to make of it… I can’t seem to find the right situation that it suits the most. Whenever I want to use it I find myself reaching for 1 Million instead because it’s just soo much smoother. I want to like this but it’s just soo boozy.
etv058speagoessenda – :
Listen guys this stuff is FANTASTIC!!! It is nothing like 1million and anyone that says it is has a major nose malfunction It is sweet … A very nice not over sweet, sweet. There’s a bit of class to it too. It’s performance is very good. It is an A fragrance. Go smell it for yourself!! You ll love it!

100% night fragrance
reminds me of 1 million with booze
nice amber and boozy scent
serega70111 – :
The Brilliant Game does not resemble any of the listed notes – it all seems like a ploy to make this seem different than what it really is.
The Brillian Game is an entirely linear scent that clones the drydown scent of Paco Rabanne’s 1 Million.
So if you love that delicious sweet, leathery dry down of 1 Million, get this! It’s a perfect alternative.
musickid – :
I am not very familiar with the masculine range from Davidoff other than the classic Cool Water for Men. I really didn’t expect The Brilliant Game to be as good as it was. My partner and I really enjoyed testing it, and I plan to purchase a bottle for him in the near future.
The Brilliant Game is a sweet masculine, along the same lines as 1 Million by Paco Rabanne and Spicebomb by Viktor & Rolf. It borders on a masculine gourmand with notes of caramel, tonka bean, red berries and Campari. On my partner’s skin I find it very enticing and sexy.
This fragrance packs quite a punch in terms of sillage. For this reason I would recommend The Brilliant Game as a cold weather or an evening scent. If you are a young single man, The Brilliant Game could also be worn to clubs and bars.
I never tested the original The Game, so I unfortunately cannot compare the two. I will be revisiting the Davidoff brand however, seeing that this flanker has caught my attention.
I am surprised that this fragrance is not a particularly popular sell. If this was branded by Gucci or Chanel I am certain it would sell like hotcakes.
Goneeurothe – :
Davidoff The Brilliant Game is a fragrance that I feel mixes a flanker and its original and another scent. To me The Brilliant Game is similar to the original Ralph Lauren Polo Red and also its flanker Polo Red Intense, but it is expanded upon with a boozy aspect from Joop Homme Wild. The open isn’t red velvet like Polo Red but rather boozy. It is a slight kinda fruity booze similar to Joop Homme Wild, but it isn’t Malibu. Instead is a sweet campari and the wine-like vermoth upon initial smell. As the scent comes along the berries mix with the caramel to create a somewhat red velvet accord like Polo Red, but it is much milder and goes to caramel faster. The true mid notes are almost non-existent. The caramel gives way to tonka and coumarin as it dries down entirely.
The Brilliant Game is not 1 Million, nor is it Playboy Play It Wild. I owned those fragrances too and honestly, I fail to see the comparison. Play It Wild is basically Axe taking Dark and Gold Temptation and combining them in an eau de cologne (despite being an eau de toilette.) 1 Million is a beast headed up by citruses and beats you over the head with cinnamon and leather. This has a slight bitter orange similar to say Azzaro Chrome (though not as metallic and strong) BUT it has no cinnamon and leather whatsoever.
The Brilliant Game is a fall into even spring night scent. It isn’t a work scent due to the slight booziness. It isn’t a club scent, it is a little too light if you want to drown out other scents due to sillage (see the 1 Million comparison). The Brilliant Game instead is a six hour long lasting moderate sillage for an hour/hour and a half scent that works for small parties, dates and “daring” situations.
While I do like The Brilliant Game, I honestly think it is a little bit too limited in use. It is a nighttime use boozy Polo Red but at the same time, it is what I wanted Joop Homme Wild to be rather than just sweet booze. To me the scent is not strong enough and a little bit weak to my nose. That said, like Polo Red, it has a bit red velvet in it. For these reasons, I give The Brilliant Game a 7.8 out of 10.
Okuw – :
Sweet but more on the dark side. Reminds quite a bit Zegna Forte.
FANNABODY – :
Very similar to YSL’s l’homme parfum intense. Sweet, fruity but not powdery and just like the YSL, does not last at all. It also smells a bit cheaper and kind of has that 1 million vibe that is absolutely a dealbreaker for me, otherwise a very usable fragrance.
nwp789 – :
Having the game and the intense version
i just had to buy this, and i don’t regret it,
nice sweet and a bit spicy smelling fragrance
that is very appealing to me and i bet a lot of
others too, you cant go wrong with this one
as the price is quite ok..
vla2989 – :
To start with, I Love this fragrance. The sweet and fruity kick it has is amazing. The bottle looks good too, just like poker chips.I usually wear this in evening/night. The only negative thing about this one is its lasting. It lasts hardly few hours. Blind buy it IF you love fruity fragrances.

Quiet and magnetic: this is what this fragrance is. Really very nice.
I get mostly Campari and Cedar, but i think i can also smell orange blossom and vermouth, with a bit of what i think are the tonka beans. No berries for me. Overall really sweet, but not overbearing. i can´t smell anything bitter on this one and i like it that way.I think this is sexy and quite unisex, i would happily wear this.
Cons are bad longevity and bad sillage.
This reminds me o Wild Elixir by Shakira, because of the juicy, woody smell.
Note:7/10
TIHONEC – :
Just bought and smells quite strong but gives the typically MAN scent. Loving it for a hot summer.
ritochkka – :
naa its too sweet to handle..longevity is poor sileage too
4/10 ( only for sweetness)
temaknyaz – :
Davidoff the brilliant game enters the realm of potion and man in black.
It is a mixture between gourmand and woody though its not really balanced. The tonka note is quite dominant and underlined by caramel and cedar.
If you’re not really into gourmands but like to find something that is on the edge this one might be for you.
Bearable caramel with a hint of alcoholics.
What a brilliant game.
Braiti – :
Personally like this juice, nose behind alot of the A*Men juices. Kinda has a Joop Pour Homme feel to it, with a little tonka note.
alexsovna – :
After having hit the nail right on the head for the reek of ‘old money’ with the magnificent but vanishingly rare original Davidoff for Men, Davidoff has a tilt at the whiff of ‘new money’ with this. Pretty impressive actually with decent sillage and longevity for day and night wear, this is like Cerruti 1881 Black on steroids and so is well prepared for the titanic battle with PR One Million for the command of dance floors around the country. I think it’s an excellent night/party/clubbing fragrance and is probably a little too flirtatious for the average daytime office or work use. I like it and the bottle too, but cringe at the affected James Bond-styled suave advertising that goes with this series that almost seems to be aimed at dreamy spotty teenagers. Nonetheless, this is recommended.
vitek222 – :
Tried it today.
Actually not a bad fragrance, I prefer this to the original and the intense version. Unfortunatly, and many of you will say the same, it smells a little bit like Ralph Lauren Polo Red. It would be a great substitute for it if you like it.
But not a bad fragrance though 🙂
TimAvramenko – :
I can only say i like it ! It smelled like fruity-caramelic which makes this fragrance sweet and after a few it’s added a taste of alcohol by campari…well blended
