Wait for it…about 5-6 hours. It’s all about the dry down for me.

When I first smelled this sample, I was underwhelmed by it. it was sweet and floral, and not at all a masculine opening like the description claims. As the juniper and pine come out, alright, some masculinity is present, but it still has a very unisex vibe.
Right as I was going to seal my verdict, THAT Guy got enticing. The drydown is very… masculine in an odd way. Woody ambroxan-pine with a touch of sandalwood and rose. its smooth and soft, but still manly in a way. Hard to describe. but this comes out at like the 4 hour mark, so it takes a while.
Not completely sure about this frag, but it is unique. Would make a good signature , but is it for me……

Got an unexpected free sample of this from Gallagher Fragrances when i bought Amongst Waves. It isn’t really to my taste as i feel it leans a bit feminine, despite the name but it smells decent enough! Has a very sweet vibe and i can definitely smell the rose.

Good composition. I notice with a few of Gallagher Frags they are inspired by other frags. This definitely has similarities with Dior Sauvage and Brooklyn Bond no. 9 which isn’t a bad thing.
Wore this for the third time this fragrances is very very good. Definitely the birth child of Sauvage and Brooklyn The longevity on THAT Guy is outta this world projection is amazing as well.
Longevity: 10/10 12+ hrs

Season; All great year round fragrance!
This and Amongst Waves are by far my favorite from the line, Amongst Waves has good performance but this is by far superior in performance.

I’m going full Gall(review 6/8). From the note listing, I expected this to be Gallagher’s answer to Aventus. After sniffing, I can tell Aventus had little to no inspiration in this creation. Gallagher has seem to go public with his love affair of fruit and woods. The combination is the resultant stonewash effect often realized in his concoctions. That guy isn’t the man of the hour, he’s more like the metrosexual of the minute with a significant rose acting as the anchor. Interestingly, THAT(as in THAT guy) is capitalized to possibly draw some ambiguity. That’s actually a big deal in the critiquing process of this aromatic scent. You will notice quickly that this guy isn’t exactly jockstrapped with ultramasculine accords nor is it meant to be. The pineapple note is graded highly albeit a very short life span of about 10 seconds. There’s a real fragrant vibe emanating from the pine/juniper combo. That’s the “guyest” part of the fragrance. No vetiver, no amber; no wonder That guy isn’t anything special. In fact, he’s just another dude.

THAT Guy has my undivided attention right now, as a stand-out favorite out of the sampler kit. Although marketed to men, I’m deliriously happy wearing this as a woman.
Testing blindly, I could have sworn there’s a light leather-smokey-tobacco going on, but they’re not listed in the pyramid. With a 4-accord overlap with Aventus, the comparison is bound to come up. So I’ll begin by saying that as of today, Creed’s offering has 5 colognes lined up on its ‘Perfume reminds me of’ shelf, totaling 702 Yes votes. In other words, Aventus is the perfume-world equivalent of “tastes like chicken”. Pretty much, everything smells like Aventus. It’s worthy also to point out, that THAT Guy is more gender-agnostic enjoyment.
What sets this gem apart is the refreshing pine & juniper. You’re transported to a coastal evergreen forest with miles of lush greenery. And Cedar reigns as the unequivocal main character at dry down. THAT Guy is an executive who enjoys the outdoors. I’m gonna steal his fragrance.

This is a truly unique fragrance that is masculine and fresh. Starts out sweet and fresh and matures into nice manly woody scents. Lasts 7-8 hr on my skin. The top notes I smell are pineapple, with fresh pine forest, and hints of bergamot. 5 hr in cedar and sandalwood become more dominant. I really like this one and think it would suit most situations. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a different scent that is pleasant and makes a statement.

This will be my last review of four of the fragrances I have bought from Gallagher Fragrances.I have truly loved all these fragrances and think they are all extremely unique in their own right. I am still holding strong and saying Bergamust is a must own in my opinion. Just a really special scent. If anyone has read my chain of reviews just know that Bergamust is probably closer to a 9 out of 10 than an 8.25 something about it just made me keep wearing it. I wore it more than creed this past week. Which for me is saying something.
THAT Guy is a again something special and different. I don’t know if I have anything that smells like this, while someone else may be able to tell me otherwise for now I will say that I haven’t smelt anything like it. Which of course is why we buy Niche scents anyways, so positive points there! The opening of this scent is hard to describe, I don’t even want to try and describe because I would hate for someone to buy it, get it and go yea that smells nothing like what he said. So I will just say its a subtle non offensive opening that won’t have people going WOW, but at the same time no one is going to think you smell bad. As the scent dried down I noticed more of the sandlewood and vetiver coming through which was really pleasant, not the best for the super high heat but my GF said it was not offensive which is nice to hear when it is 95 degrees out.
I think this is a great scent for any crowd or age, I think it may fit 25 to 35 but anyone can be confident putting this own and knowing they will smell very nice and stand out from the crowd. This also lasted really well on my skin which was surprising as it wasn’t a really loud scent and stayed closer to my body. Great stuff none the less!
