The composition comprises of solar floral tones. It opens with accords of bergamot, coconut and tiare flower. Its heart includes white florals such as jasmine, ylang-ylang and orange blossom, laid on the sultry base of musk and vanilla.

Terracotta Le Parfum was launched in 2014.

Terracotta evokes the image of being stranded on a far away South Pacific Island.
I feel like Emmeline Lestrange from Blue Lagoon when I sniff my right wrist. I’m drinking real coconut water and Tiare Flowers are resting in my brunette sun kissed hair. The warm sand is under my feet. I’m with my soulmate. Pure Bliss.

This is what I call a yummy floral! A buttered up, creamy tropical white floral. No sharp edges at all. It’s a perfect balance of white florals and dreamy coconut and vanilla. Mildly sweet. Ylang ylang adds a bit of balsam and spice. Tropical in every sense, smells of warm sunshine on your skin! In Guerlain fashion with something kinda vintage happening in the background, but still very modern. Timeless I’d say. Perfect for summer days and vacations, but also a nice grab when it’s dreary outside and you are craving a glimpse of summer. Beautiful!

Super natural creamy white jasmine with just a touch of juicy yellow ylang-ylang. Really sexy when blended with hot skin. As a male I really enjoy this on a female.

This ravishing beauty, is everything Tom Ford’s Soleil Blanc is not: a bathed in sunshine, tropical, intoxicating dream…

Lovely, I receive compliments every time I wear it. I don’t know why I put off reviewing this one. It is a beautiful, realistic tiare note, along with a creamy vanilla and a coconut that has a cocoa butter vibe. All the white florals are singing in harmony here, especially the jasmine, which while not indolic, definitely has a strong high pitched throw. The ylang ylang comes out to play after about an hour, and plays nice, a rich and sweet narcotic, blessedly no banana note here, that would be too too with the coconut!
For me and on me, an office friendly fragrance that you can wear to go out after work– and it will last long enough if you need it, six to nine hours on me. I don’t get much musk, just enough to give it a skin scent, working well with the vanilla. It does work best for me in hot muggy weather, I have worn it for two days now in late summer in Florida, and as I said, getting compliments all over. Glad I got a back up of this one.

This is beautiful. I dont get coconut or even vanilla. Its like a creamy jasmine. It does make me think somewhat tropical, I think that is some of the tiare coming through. I feel like the sillage is softer than I would like but I enjoy smelling it. Its a very pretty summery perfume.

Blind bought this because I wanted something summery that wasn’t aquatic and citrusy, and I figured I could trust Guerlain.
All I know is that this smells very much like pure tiare flower, and that after about 25 minutes, I was digging through my bathroom cabinet for rubbing alcohol to get this off my wrist while trying not to gag. I had to immediately wash the sweatshirt I was wearing when I sprayed it.
It’s not that it’s a bad fragrance, it just does NOT agree with me. I wanted to like it, and the bottle is gorgeous. If you like this, I’m happy for you. But if you’re sensitive or hesitant about white florals, test it first. Really, the lesson here is that I should stop blind buying things.

smells like summer and tanning lotion; tropical with a little vanilla; goes on a bit like buttered popcorn; powdery and fruity and some sweet floral in the very top that burns off into the popcorn, a little like and Easter lily and lilac that are buttered and salted; reminds a bit of a Serge Lutens or some tiare flower frags

Bought this blind couldn’t wait to smell it. It’s a delicious warm floral bouquet on a warm bed of vanilla. I don’t know if I’m making sense lol but to me it’s beautiful. It doesn’t smell like a beachy scent to me it’s too refined for that label. The only downside it’s poor longevity I’m a heavy sprayer but I only get faint whiffs after an hour. I guess sometimes less is more and I’m happy I’ve got this lovely in my collection. Guerlain are on top.

This is one where I just can’t stop smelling my wrists. I don’t get the coconut note, more heavy warm and humid floral. I find it quite potent. I’ve had to restrict my use as the bottle was set to last me about a week. It smells very much of quality.
I can imagine for some people this could be headache inducing.

When i was a child, i would pick jasmine flowers from my granny’s garden and i would keep them in my hand for hours, sniffing them until the scent was gone. That memory had been erased from my brain until today, when i tried Terracota and the scent of those flowers came to me as vivid as if it had been yesterday.
For me, this perfume is not about summer, girls in Haiti with flowers on the hair, or the beach. It’s about precious moments from my childhood. I will always thank Guerlain for that.

Definitely a full and complete scent that works with the skin, rather than against it. It goes onto the skin a bit much, with the screechiness that often comes with tiare, jasmine and coconut, but it dries down to a smooth and rich coconut and vanilla skin scent with a bit of a citrus cocktail (maybe like rum & pineapple) that lasts quite a long time. I often avoid fragrances like this, that aim to emulate the ‘bronzed, sun kissed’ skin of Summer but this is quite beautiful. Reminds me a little of Bronze Goddess, a little of Beige but still seems to be quite different from them and other scents like it. Its quality, its elegant and just a bit flirtatious. One of the good scents that remind me of the sun. The jasmine was a bit indolic, but that was soothed later on. Just beautiful!

I like the idea of this( coconut and tiare/ monoi) but I seem to have an issue with wearing it, gives me a sharp almost pain in my sinus area. It is a pretty smell, part sunscreen beach part Tahitian girl with flowers…but I just can’t for some reason. Enjoy it if you can. Yes its much nicer than Bronze Goddess.

Arrived today, have to say I’m a bit disappointed. First spray is a blast of flowers, that disappears after about 5 minutes, then it’s a mild tiare/coconut with a little floral in the background. That doesn’t last long either, maybe 20 min., then all I smell is warm caramel popcorn, for the rest of it’s life which is 2 hours total, (sprayed it twice now, both times, gone in 2 hrs.) While I enjoy the smells of the Boardwalk, I don’t quite enjoy smelling like one myself, but I could see the warmth as nice in the Spring when one is waiting for the Summer weather, or maybe in the Fall. I’ll try it again in cooler weather.
After the last sprays faded, I tried a little, just a little, Tommy Bahama St. Barts for Her (which is all lime and a bit of musk to me.) Then sprayed Terracotta over it. It was nice with a little lime.
Try it before you buy it. A lot of folks love it, a lot don’t.
Edit: It seems my bottle may have been temporarily affected by the heat, UPS delivery, in the truck over 4 days, temps in the high 90s. After 24 hrs. in the A/C, it is different. It’s nice when first sprayed, floral, coconut and carmel corn all at once. After about an hour, the floral dies down an it’s more coconutty, but I really can’t smell it unless I put my wrist to my nose. I’ve now tried i over a few days, and it lasts 3-6 hrs. The last half, all I smell is carmel corn.

    Ill pass on this one.
I tried it and smells quite heavy just like gardenia. There is nothing wrong with gardenia-a gorgeous smelling flower indeed, but in this fragrance I expected something different from Guerlain than a common gardenia scent which easily can be found in generic fragrances.
The coconut/tiare are not at all detectable. It’s the synthetic elements that were used which propably give it more gardenia like than coconut/tiare notes.

This smell is amazing. Silky smooth natural jasmine tree in a warm breeze of a tropical night. Subtle coconut oil under the jasmine. Smells like the worlds most expencive sun product.
I am a man and could wear this in the right context, but most of the time I use it as aroma therapy. I have jasmine absolute essential oil and Terracotta has the same vibe. Im craving this smell. Its so comforting. Reminds me of a holiday in Tunisia when I was a child. We had a jasmine tree outside of the bungalow. The notes in this are very toned down and not screeming synthetics. Rather whispering naturals.
I love it on myself, but if I smell this on a woman my knees will start shaking, my heart will gallop and my soul will fall in love
    Edit:
The more I wear this, the more I love it. And as a man I am now 100% comfortable wearing this in public. To me its a unisex fragrance and it feels very liberating to wear jasmin as a man.
And by the way, in case you did not know, real men wears white flowers!
    9/10

This Fragrance smells just like romantic Summer Evenings and Exciting Summer Nights, full of passion and tropical romance…It smells like skin that generated lots of sunshine and vitamin D during the day, and now in the evening it is giving out – just like a rare tropical flower – the scent of love and seduction. Very attractive, powdery, warm, sensual, feminine and seductive scent. Definitely not for girls, but for Women. Definitely for someone in love. <3

Lovely fragrance. Has great depth. Very sultry and sophisticated. Great for a nice summer day. Decent sillage and longevity is moderate. What I like best is that it’s not a coconut bomb. I’m not a fan of coconut in perfume much. This is blended and rounded perfect. Just beautiful.

  19. :

This is damn close to my ideal summer scent. Smelling this in the bottle, I like it but don’t love it. But within a minute of spraying it on me, I am totally in love. My skin pushes jasmine, always, and I love this jasmine. Starts out a touch indolic to my nose, but not disturbingly so and I feel like it gets cleaner as it goes along. But it stops all of those flowers from getting screechy and high-pitched.
It gets warm within 15 minutes, but not heavily so. Coconut + vanilla. This probably doesn’t make sense to anyone but me, but to me the vanilla is dry and the coconut is juicy, perfectly balancing it. I don’t like heavy vanilla at all, but I am fine with the vanilla in this. It takes a backseat to the coconut.
I get good longevity from this. Not projection-wise, but I can still smell this on my skin 8+ hours after spraying it.

To me this is a lovely, bright, beachy summer fragrance. It was a blind buy in late winter when I was tired of all the clouds and felt ready for some sunshine. And it’s nice! Tuberose and jasmine belting out in all directions. Unfortunately, I am not a beach person and I can only stand tuberose and jasmine in small doses.
I think this would be a welcome addition to the wardrobe of a person who is suited to that whole suntan-lotion-and-white-florals type of scent. Yes, it’s a limited edition, but it is available in many corners of the internet. I’m sure I’d like smelling it on someone walking past, but on myself… after an hour I was tired of it. And that’s true of EVERY tuberose scent I’ve tried, so it’s me, not you. There’s a reason I don’t grow these flowers in my garden. They are such a pleasant surprise when I come across them, and I’d hate to grow tired of them.

  21. :

    4 out of 5

Phase 1. Loud syrup-y tuberose (with coconut and peach nuances like thick tuberose essential oil) + jasmine.
Phase 2. Monoi oil (coconut + tiare) + echo of cherry (=ylang-ylang note). Dries down quickly.
First hour reminds me Michael Kors, Moringa by Body Shop or Daliwild.

Very not my cup of tea. It has a kind of LouLou Carcharel vibe to me. Didnt enjoy this one as I tested it on my skin. But the bottle is very Nice looking.

this perfume smells great, on the skin the firmness is average but using the body lotion coconut passion of victoria’s secret the smell stays much longer, on the clothes I still smell the perfume the next day, for the price compared to the other perfumes from guerlain it is not too expensive. It is really well done, it reminds me of Tunisian jasmine during summer nights

Starts out amazing… and then almost completely disappears in an instant.
Upon first spray it’s fantastic. Everything you’d expect from a perfect Summer fragrance. A bit of floral… a bit of coconut… slightly reminiscent of suntan lotion & salty skin… beachy and gorgeous.
    But within minutes, it’s gone.
What’s left on my arm now is the faintest smell of movie theater buttered popcorn. A bit of sweetness.. buttery and salty.
I absolutely adore the opening.. but it fades almost completely away way too quickly and the faint scent that’s left behind isn’t something I’m looking for in a perfume.
IMO, Terracotta is extremely similar to Maison Margiela Beach Walk… and BW’s drydown & longevity are infinitely better.

I do love the smell of this – I have some Terracotta makeup nd the scent there is stellar – but this is SO fleeting I gave it away. Even in thick summer heat and humidity, the absolute max this lasts is 2 hours including on clothes, and I only really smelled it on myself for the first half hour without snuffing at my wrist like an enthusiastic dog. Such a disappointing experience with a fantastic scent.

Just to add: Everyones saying this doesnt last long, but i put it on at 5pm and could still smell it the next morning. The jumper i was wearing that night, still smells like Terracotta edt! and that was about 2 weeks ago.
I have had no problem at all with longevity, thankfully.

I’ve always wanted to visit Fiji and wearing this I feel I’ve arrived. My Dad did Consultancy work in Fiji for a few years a while back and got to know the islands well. He says this reminds him of that time.
It is all very well blended. No note really stands out but the tiare, coconut and ylang are evident. Expensive smelling and oh so tropical.
My only gripe is that it doesn’t last a lot longer but I bought this at a great price so I don’t mind being liberal. I suspect if it was stronger though that it would be headache inducing in the heat. This fragrance is the smell of an expensive holiday on an exclusive Caribbean island far from the stresses of modern life.

I tried the EDT awhile ago (that was the only version that I could find), and did not like it at all, as all I could smell was a super strong and sharp Ylang Ylang and not much else, as I vaguely remember. I did not know what to expect from the EDT, as I haven’t found its page listed in here either, just this EDP page.
I like Prada La Femme Intense EDP very much (it also has strong Ylang Ylang note). So my guess is that this one may smell quite nice too (with all the listed notes combined). Just wish that I could try the EDP version.

A balmy afternoon on the beach boardwalk, with mingling scents of coconut sun screen, tropical flora, and sweet buttered popcorn. Terracotta does ‘lacatonic’ right — hitting us from 2 angles – the edible vanilla base, and coconut. Even if you dislike traditional ‘coconut’ in perfumery, I urge you to give this a try. It’s a near-perfect perfume, in every way other than longevity. Lasts about as long as a bag of kettle corn in my possession, but just as gorgeously worthwhile. A definite must-buy for 2018.

This finally came in the mail today, i have been absolutely hanging for it to get here and im not dissapointed. Its the right amount of everything with nothing being too much. with tropical fragrances,if not done right, there always seems to be one note thats a bit much; synthetic too sweet coconut or a jasmine so stong it induces a migrane; but this is just so well blended. Its not by any means something that hasnt been done already, but its HOW its done that holds the magic. It makes me think of a warm still dusk evening, sitting outside relaxing with jasmine and gardenia bushes in full bloom, sipping a mohito, its calming and sweet without being cloying. This could probably work in hot weather, at night.
If anyone has tried guerlain’s Terracotta R’eve teint skincare jelly, this is basically the exact scent of that.
The lime gives just enough zing at first spray, then its a fresh extremely natural smelling boquet of gardenia in the heat with the coconut being not a sweet artificial coconut; but just creamy enough to give it a tropical warmth. then the orange blossom comes in with a lovely sweet citrusy note that stays for a long time. A little goes a long way with this which is good as its a LE so wont b around forever

    Update
This fragrance is beautiful in springtime …
Beautiful sweet but not headachy white flowers mostly jasmin (i dont know smell of thiare)
For hot summer maybe too much
    Happy scent

  33. :

    3 out of 5

Terracotta is all about sweet, tropical flowers. Tiare, ylang, and jasmin in the opening then orange blossom slowly comes in during the next phase. Like others, I also pick up tuberose.
TC is not a gourmand scent, white flowers are the stars here. Its hard for me to pick out the coconut or vanilla notes. If they are present, the are here very lightly.
I’m wearing this on a cool spring day, and feel that’s where Terracotta belongs. I think it might be too much in summer heat. Moderate projection and decent longevity for my skin. It’s good for a couple of hours then when I think it’s disappeared, I pick up a light whiff of Terracotta.
This has a little bit of a wealthy, mature woman vibe. The kind of woman who wears designer labels and high heels. This doesn’t describe me, but I do like to wear it on occasion.
Not a masterpiece, but still much better than most “tropical” perfumes sold in a department store.

  34. :

    5 out of 5

Well…this is stunning. I have been clamouring to find someone who will sell and ship this to Australia without bringing down the entire Asiapac economy.
I couldn’t believe I found a legitimate seller, but that’s another story and I won’t bore the Europeans and US/Canadians with that one as it’s so topical to our hemisphere.
Coconut, make up, suntan lotion, some Tiaré, a touch of tuberose, a glimpse of a makeup purse circa 1978, your kabuki brush against a shimmering bronzer…it’s all happening here and it’s gorgeous.

Tried this on randomly out of curiosity upon seeing the name of the perfume in Douglas. No expectations being unaware of the connection with the Terracotta beauty line, other than that the name suggested to me something possibly earthy/spicy. So I was surprised by the white flowers, which I am ambivalent and wary toward (sometimes attracted to initially but often later overwhelmed). Later it turned to pleasant surprise. Tried it on in cool weather and enjoyed the little wafts I would get over the next few hours. Not a powerhouse. I had Coco EdT on the other wrist and that was stronger but the longevity was decent and I don’t think I’d want the white flowers to pack more of a punch personally. Didn’t expect that this sort of scent would appeal to me much, especially after reading the sunscreen references, as I generally hate the smell of sunscreen. Not sure if I got coconut (wouldn’t mind if this was more distinct) but maybe it’s that that keeps the flowers from becoming too screechy. Curious to test this again. I usually prefer spicy orientals but enjoyed being taken by surprise by this one. I can imagine enjoying this when I felt like something feminine and tropical and pretty, without being too young-girl fruity sweet. Price seems good value too and even though it’s EdT, it performed as well as some niche EdPs have on me. I’m not very familiar with Guerlain (have tested a couple, never owned one) and maybe it’s not the most complex or earth-shattering one but this seems so likeable on a number of levels I could see it being a good (safe) first Guerlain.

  37. :

    4 out of 5

It’s not a listed note but the first note for me is a loud tuberose. That’s soon followed by an equally loud coconut. It’s well blended and classy but it’s not for me.

  38. :

    3 out of 5

A very enjoyable scent. The imagery I get when wearing this is blowing bubbles through a wand, wearing a white delicate shirt while the sun of gently patting on my skin and I’m in my own happy world. The scent also smells like this too lol, coconuts with the liquid that comes in the bottle kids use to blow bubbles.

  39. :

    5 out of 5

I really love this fragrance! Most people say that it’s for summer,i think it wears better the colder months. The composition is quite simple thought. You smell a typical monoi tiare scent but with great lasting power. Not to lie but i bought it mostly for the eye catching bottle, even if i still like the fragrance,it’s not a unique smell.

  40. :

    3 out of 5

Do not think you will love this just because you love white florals, you MUST love coconut/monoi! This one is toooo warm and creamy for me, it actually gets extremely cloying and if you are not a BIG fan of tiare/monoi and coconut, this one might seriously disappoint. If you are a lover of creamy white florals but don’t want them to be too sweet try Lys Soleia or Mayotte instead, those ones are creamy-spicy, this one is a creamy, musky gourmand that is very reminiscent of sunscreen/tanning oil. It’s a fail for me and I normally love anything Guerlain and white floral.

  41. :

I wear this in the summer but it is quite special during spring. Something in the cool air makes the notes pop. Happy scent…I wear it for running errands and it puts a smile on my face.

  42. :

    3 out of 5

it’s amazing. full of elegance, light, and charme.I can detect the creamy coconut and the tiare, and a delicate ylang ylang well balanced. I think the sweetness comes from vanilla, but it is still warm and gentle. Don’t think it’a in your face frag. I do really like it. It is an unexpecting surprise. usually I would not have approached this fragrance of my will. Fortunately, a friend of mine made me try it, otherwise I would never have known what I would have missed!
    Thanks dear Lara. 🙂

  43. :

    3 out of 5

When I first bought this last year, I couldn’t detect the coconut at all. My nose must have been searching for the mounds bar type of sugared coconut, or the fake American suntan lotion type of coconut, because when I tried it again, I definitely got a bone dry coconut flesh smell, like a freshly opened coconut, minus the sweeter coconut water. Over that loes a powerful tiare and jasmine blend. This is definitely a one spray and walk through scent to me. It’s very strong and high pitched. I can imagine loving this on a beach vacation, but I really can’t see wearing it anywhere else. All in all, a good fragrance.

  44. :

    3 out of 5

There is no caramel or marine note in this parfum, but after hour or two… all I can smell, is salted caramel scent on my skin. Plus little bit coconut .Definitely there is a gourmand touch.

  45. :

    5 out of 5

This is a beautiful perfume. The only similarity imo to guerlain lys soleia or monoi is in the opening. After the first 5 minutes it turns into the most beautiful rich, creamy, plumeria. I don’t smell the beach or tiare and i don’t get any bergamot, but it smells like tropical flowers and coconut. It is definitely made with high quality ingredients.
I smell plumeria and ylang ylang. Tords the dry down i smell ripe banana with a subtle coconut milk. It has a soft sillage but i get whiffs of it throughout the day. Longevity is really good. It reminds me of something i have smelled before but i just can’t put my finger on it. I hope it comes to me. It is a “feel good” fragrance. I’ll need a back up:)

  46. :

    White flowers, gorgeous white flowers.
I’m afraid I don’t get the beach reference. It’s been a while since I used suntan lotion (as I now use sunscreen) at the beach, so maybe something has changed. In my suntan lotion-using days, I don’t recall any that smelled like white flowers. The coconut note is so subtle to my nose as to be inconsequential, and something I would not have noticed had it not been pointed out.

Beautiful floral vanilla with just a hint of coconut, which is a relaxing sexy summer vacation scent in a bottle!
I recently purchased a bottle and I’m currently wearing it in the cooler winter months too. I think the scent is quite versatile for different seasons and the floral vanilla drydown is just too gorgeous to not wear year round.
The image I get is of a private beach on the Mediterranean with a lady wearing an oversized hat and large sunglasses lounging, obviously she hasn’t touched the water. This is what Terracotta smells to me- a luxury beach vacation.

Mayberry, AnnabellLee, and snoopyQ all sum this up very nicely.
I had this on my want list for a long time and decided now is the time. I imagined this to be like a long lost little sister of Dior’s Dune, and to me, it sort of is! To me, this is more about the accords than the notes. The white floral, the sweet, the vanilla, the coconut, the yellow floral. This is not as overpowering as Dune can be; this is a touch lighter.
Moderate sillage and longevity is a good 8 hours before becoming a skin scent for me. But that is 2 spritzes. More spritzes might net you better longevity and sillage. I like this, but much like Dune, I do not want to wear this very often, as I feel I might get tired/bored of this scent. The sweetness here can be a little cloying to my nose. But it is a lovely fragrance, nonetheless.

This I smelled the first time on an airport on one of my many trips to Finland.
I remember thinking it was ordinary, not special enough for me to spend my money on. Back then I wanted spicy and dark.
Funnily I came across it again recently and thought it was the epitome of happiness…..funny that.. hahahaa….
Yessss I miss summer…and this reminds me of flowers and the sun and the sea.
….. where has it all gone the sunshine the birds and the bees?…. I wonder while the snow is falling outside …it is november afterall…
Ohhh dear I am getting off topic, ain`t I?
This is lovely. To me it smells like a sweet soft happy summer flower….if that even exists.
    It is very lovely indeed.
similar to Yves Rochers Monoi, but smells more refined.

Sweet gourmand – green – floral
    Color impression: butter yellow
A perfectly earthy green vibe immediately puts in shade by instantly overwhelming nutty gourmand air. Though incomparable in scents, this clash of sweet yummy notes and fougère green theme in which army of sweets win, reminds me of Olivia Giacobetti least-beloved-yet-highly-admired coconut/fig for Diptyque: Philosykos.
Opens with grassy notes and fleshy jasmine that promises of a lush creamy tropical air, that later materializes with coconut and ylang ylang. It gives fine lactonic nuances to the scent and pairs, in dry down, with unicorn poop: Guerlain’s famous vanilla that delivers heavenly carnality.
Guerlain did a great job with this perfume. Simply beautiful, a bit powdery, softly gourmand without even getting cloying or intense, and absolutely feminine.

Nice white floral. Relaxing and elegant. A bit too reserved and uncreative, but very good nonetheless. Sillage is really good. There are other fragrances in the same category that made a better impression on me (and were also cheaper), but this one doesn’t need to be ashamed, it is really quite good.

Terracotta is pure delight with the warmth of musky human skin. Jasmine is sweet and rich but soft, however exudes some indolic funk on opening, soon settling into a thick tropical bloom with a hint of melon.
The coconut and tiare are more of a cosmetic pressed powder accord. There’s a hint of soft, mineral bitterness that offers a balancing counterpoint to the lush florals. Ylang adds to the velvety finish of sweet, sun-baked earth.
Terracotta is no syrupy beach tanning oil but a chic tropical floral skin veil that makes your skin deliciously inviting. Thank you Objections for gifting me a generous decant of this precious perfume!

For me this fragrance has 2 different faces:
    1. It’s more of a ylang + vanilla + musk and alittle bit of jasmine on colder days.
    2. And more dominant on tiare flower + ylang + coconut on hotter days.
However I think this is a fragrance for colder weathers. It smells more divine on these days – I would say perfect for autumn. During hot summer days it can get very overwhelming with it’s sunscreen-type of smell that tiare flowers give.
The sillage is medium, but the longevity is amazing!! I can put this on in the morning and still smell it in the evening when I’m taking a shower!

I am so thrilled I own a huge bottle of this stunning beauty. To me the main player and star of the show here is the jasmine. Totally natural smelling.. Very indolic, but also fresh, ripe, and creamy..
The coconut, tiare, and ylang lend the big realistic jasmine a tropical vibe. Perfect for summer, but fantastic in any weather at all, terracotta smells like my idea of jasmine petals ripped up and soaked in some sort of sunscreen.
On me longevity is out of this world, going well into the next day. Sillage is pretty killer too.. I spray less then average with this one because on me its a powerhouse for some reason. (not complaining~!)

Beautiful tropical floral with coconut and something vaguely abstract I cannot describe exactly.
It’s the expensive-smelling cousin of my cheap cheap Varens Tiare EdT. I like them both, but the Guerlain one does show much better ingredients and design. It’s very much a classy, expensive smelling tropical, probably the best tiare and coconut I have ever smelled. Would like to own this one.
Lasts 4 hours or so, unfortunately not more. Projects to arm’s length but quietly, not loudly.

This is the fragrance for when you want to feel super feminine, without those stronger, more formal or overtly sexy notes. It’s all about soft, sweet, pure flower fragrances on a Summer breeze. There’s not a single harsh element in this.
I get sweet Jasmine, Tiare and Ylang Ylang in equal measure, all rendered ‘in the manner of’ Jo Malone’s Orange Blossom – gentle, authentic and delicious.
(This is what I had hoped Hiram Green’s Moon Bloom would be, but it turned out to be too Ylang-y for me.)
It’s necessary to spray quite generously, so if in doubt buy the bigger bottle. Sillage is very modest and longevity much less than ideal. It might still be worth it, though, for the quality and perfect femininity.

While I totally enjoy Terracotta, I dislike the top notes as it starts off with an indolic sambac jasmine with all what indolic may imply: naphthalene, bad breath, etc.
But that’s only for a short while, as gradually it gets sweeter and gentler. Unfortunately, the coconut note is not perceptible to me.
What I really like about Terracotta that it reminds me of two distinct fragrances: Jasminora (jasmine note, from Guerlain too) and Elie Saab intense (the sweet honey note).
I agree with the previous reviewer: Terracotta is not a fragrance to blind-buy.

Almost everything about ylang ylang and jasmine but very strong, no coconut here… was hoping for a bit more light creamy and easygoing fragrance for summer. Well, this is not for me. I would recommend to try before blind buy.
