I smell chocolate!

I am sitting here stunned silly with Tanasuk on one side of my arm and Mancera Roses Vanille on the other. Very hard to tell them apart. Identical twins separated at birth? I bought Mancera never having known there was a cheaper alternative. But still happy that the twins are reunited on my pretty dresser.

I’m quite surprised to see this described as unisex. To me it seems to be feminine. Also, I detect an incense note that doesn’t appear on the description. I love this oil but have to be in the mood to wear it.

From the bottle it smells like most other Al Haramain oils in my collection: a bit motor oily, a bit floral, nothing wildly exciting. Sweeter but, generally familiar.
I applied one swipe to my chest, and couldn’t smell a thing. Fool that I am I went ahead and applied another. Not much happened for 10 minutes, then the sugar kicked in like a thing possessed. Very sweet and one dimensional. Some vanilla followed, and a touch of musk but, it really needs more grenadine or something citric to cut through it. I don’t find there’s enough here to keep me interested.
I had to wash it off after 20 minutes; the cloying syrupiness made me feel a little ill. It’s still there, however and it doesn’t seem to be mixing too well with the floral gel I used so I feel sweetly noxious.
If you’re into sugar bombs, rejoice – this is worth a shot. If you’re simply curious, I’d strongly advise going easy on the application.
