I ‘loved’ this perfume oil from upon sniffing it from my wrist. It smells like some sweet fruity compote; almost edible. What am I smelling exactly? I cannot pin-point. I see the most prominent note listed as melon but my nose picks up a strong berry note. As is progressed the tenacity of this scent did not waver; it’s very persistent and does not evolve much. I find it looses it’s juicy sweetness at the 3 hour mark and I get a floral dry-down. I bought a full bottle but it’s not a total love. I just wish if had more something, I don’t know what. But if you are looking for a sweet floral juicy berry scent. This is it! And also the bottle is fabulous!

Firstly, can I say that I respectfully disagree with the fragrance pyramid? I only smell blackcurrants, and very brash and lippy they are, too!
I blind bought this as I was intrigued enough by the thought of melon and iris together but it doesn’t deliver. I was hoping for something far more gentle but all I’ve got is a headache and a loathing for berry bushes!
I have shown willing and tried layering it with Insolence EDP which I thought might work as a distant cousin of Tajal Aroosah. It’s not worked particularly well, but it has tempered the currants to some extent. My next trial will be with Chanel No.5 to see if something more adehyde-y works, but I don’t think that will be for a while.
There are some good points to be had with Tajal Aroosah, however: one swipe of the applicator has given me 8+ hours (and counting) and moderate sillage. The bottle is absolutely to die for, too. So, even if I don’t wear it again, I’ve got a beautiful bauble for my dressing table.
