a unique taif rose smell compared to other houses that i smelled..there two variation, 1500 and 500, both have similar structure , but the 1500 have a higher pitch smell sharp and heady of citrusy citronella/lemon grass/verbena smell comparatively..
over all it has the damask rose similar smell but surprisingly it has the voluptuous structure of rose de mai in one of the nuances, i would say that it is definately should be check out by taif rose lovers, it is not the same..it has the extra va va voom structure that is often you smell when you take and smell the roses..i would go for the 500 version it is cheaper obviously but a small bottle should be purchased for reference of varieties…but just a note of warning though, it is heady and the sillage is really strong, dont suck it direct just place it on your hand and move it in front of the nose..

Super strong. Fresh, minty herbal rose from the Taif region of Saudi Arabia. Works beautifully when layered with Dehnal Aoud Hindi (Indian Aoud). A must for all rose lovers….

Everyone knows roses smell beautiful, perhaps it is more than something put upon us culturally but rather an innate experience all humans share; it’s hard to imagine anyone finding the smell of a rose truly revolting. Go easy with a soliflor, many have unshakeable associations of old ladies toiletries, cleaning products and potpourri. If applied appropriately and modestly this oil cuts through the false memories associated with those synthetic approximations and instead concentrates on the natural beauty of the real thing: the scent of a rose on the breeze – a gift from nature which is always beautiful. When you enjoy a good rose you are experiencing the same source of inspiration that inspired countless poets, writers, composers, artists, thinkers, feelers, and lovers. This perfume is simple: it is the soft, velveteen, delicate pink rose. Imagine walking through the grounds of a beautiful stately home, built hudreds of years ago it has a myriad landscaping and outbuildings slowly being consumed by the garden. Exploring with your friends, you turn a corner and unexpectedly there is an enormous rosebush with a profusion of flowers. Secluded out of view, perhaps nobody else has even discovered the bloom! You call to your friends, but they are already exploring elsewhere in the grounds. There’s no-one to share the experience with. You wish you could somehow bottle the beautiful surprise you found in this secret sunlit corner of the garden. Guess what? Your wish has come true!

I recently visited the ASAQ boutique in Bahrain and picked up a small bottle of Ta’if rose attar. They have various qualities and I went for the second best since the very best is super expensive. The second best is still very expensive.
It is a very beautiful rose. Everyone knows what rose smells like, so I will not go into a description, but if I should try to pinpoint this I would say; semi-sweet and waxy.
It is long lasting with quite good projection. Unisex as rose is often considered a masculine scent in the Middle East.

This is a very potent oil to dab on your wrist, inner elbow, behind the ears, at your neck or at your temples. I am not a floral person, generally appreciating orientals and sweeter perfumes or those that are unique in some way. That’s where this one steps up to the bat.
Obviously, you must appreciate the taif rose. It is said that this particular fragrance contains the extract of 12,000 taif roses. In other words, you Must Love Taif Roses.
The first aroma is of course pure rose, a delicious, pure, rose bush. You are nestled amongst a bed of roses, surrounded by the ethereal, heady bouquet. It’s creamy, smooth, perhaps you can even imagine the morning dew in the essences of Taif rose. And then it sweetens slightly, just ever so. The oil stays this way for about an hour. Then the magic begins.
Suddenly, I felt as if I could smell the wet earth the roses were planted in, the leaves that had dropped and mixed in with the rich soil, pieces of branches that had fallen to the ground and begun to decompose. This was such a rich, decadent odor yet very real. Nothing seemed synthetic. As I felt I had my hands in this rich soil and was inhaling the richness of it, suddenly, the Taif rose came back to wrap itself around the entire perfume. And that’s how it continued to stay for hours. A mixture of reality. This is purity, not to be taken lightly. This is to be appreciated when one has the time or inclination to savor a perfume for what it truly is about.
As an aside, I’ve mixed it with oud and I find it works very well.
