Ohhh heaven! Their website said that they had a batch of 25 of these for their Garage Sale, and I can’t believe I managed to snag one. It was a blind buy for me, one of my most successful ever, as it turns out. Lush used to have a soap called Red Rooster, which I LOVED. It was one of my all-time favorite Lush scents, just transcendent orange and spices. This perfume smells a lot like it to my nose. I’m not intending to say that Sweet Tyranny is derivative/a Lush dupe, only to give a point of comparison. This is my first Smell Bent purchase (along with Ice Station Pineapple), and I’m very impressed with this house so far.

Bought a 5 ml of Sweet Tyranny on a recent smell bent buying spree. Can’t believe I’m the first to write a review here on Fragrantica, considering Sweet Tyranny was released a few years ago, but here goes.
It comes on a bit softer than many other smell bent releases. Sweet Tyranny is a lovely scent, perfectly unisex and well-balanced. Incense is the dominant note, along with musk, but it’s not a church-y/heavy duty oriental fragrance by any means. It’s a soft and very wearable oriental woody fragrance, perfectly suitable for daytime or office wear. It’s clean, pleasant, not too sweet or smoky—no hippie or head shop vibe to this one. For some reason, I’m finding it easier to say what it is not than what it is. It’s really such a carefully composed harmony of many strong and intensive notes that results in an overall mellow oriental woody effect.
If the notes appeal to you, Sweet Tyranny is a safe blind buy that most folks will find enjoyable. Sillage is moderate and longevity is good at 6-7 hours.
