Description

Jo Malone introduces the new limited edition of fragrance in collaboration with famous perfumer Christine Nagel, inspired by various kinds of tea and their extra flavors. In accordance with the British tradition of daily tea ritual, five fragrances that correspond to five different tea flavors are presented.

Sweet Milk, as well as the previous fragrance, serves as an “additional tea flavor” and can be combined with other fragrances of the collection. Its gourmand composition begins with star anise, heliotrope and bergamot. Milk and caramel are in the center, rounded by almond, vanilla and musk.

It is available as 30 ml cologne.

Sweet Milk was launched in 2011.

Perfect perfume for bedtime stories – smells like creamy rice pudding or fluffy buckwheat pancakes that you topped with whipped fresh-cream and added almond essence, I don’t detect bergamot at all, anise becomes “visible” after 15 minutes or so. Wearing such thing – forget about ghost-stories – only little owls, dears and other kind of winsome tunes.

This is precisely warm sweet milk.. done perfectly. Its heavenly – not cloying or too sweet and thankfully I can’t detect any clove at all. Just thick warm milk and sugar, if pushed to find any other notes then barely there tiny hints of playdoh and marzipan.
It smells very foody and substantial and so, so comforting.. this is purity and innocence in a bottle, I love it and I felt so confident and ‘dressed’ or complete wearing this today, which sounds so tacky but I absolutely mean it.. if only it wasn’t a limited edition ;( I’m going to finish my sample in no time….

Delicious! Smells like a teacup of spiced chai tea made with half and half with a whipped topping. And sugar spices on top! Comforting and warm, it wafts in a lovely way. Not a super in your face fragrance but not super light silage either.

Sheer, fragile, creamy and sweet are some words that come to my mind when I smell this. I think I smell mostly creamy whipped egg whites and some almonds. The caramel is not detectable until it dries a little. Almonds, tending to smell like Play Doh (salty) are especially prominent in the opening. Then they hide, leaving just a creamy feel. Vanilla is also more like an echo in this fragrance, subtle and sheer.
In my eyes this has some similarities with Mirato Malizia – Bon Bons Milk Shake, especially in the drydown. I’m not really sure because I gave Bon Bons some while ago away.. but it’ seems that they are both sheer and airy, like a baloon (it doesn’t smell rubbery, it’s just airy). Still, Sweet Milk seems to me a tad creamier, Bon Bons being even more “weightless” if that makes sense.
Bon Bons was a little too airy/cold for my liking, but Sweet Milk is just perfect. I actually imagined Sweet Milk would be heavier – not so sheer; like warm milk, but it’s not (still searching for that one), but I still find it enough unique addition to my shelf.
I don’t get any kinky notes, described from other reviewers, but I understand why not everybody would like this. It’s a true gourmand.

I am prepared for a lot of downvotes here – this is the first time I have literally gagged at the smell of a perfume. Normally I can dislike, even strongly dislike something and deal with it long enough to wash it off – this perfume immediately makes me feel sick to my stomach.
Eau de Wet Nurse is right – MILK is the only thing I get out of this. A very strong, almost rancid milk. The milk you have been keeping in the refrigerator a week because you don’t believe in expiration dates, but its only a second away from getting chunky. Maybe a little bit of salty butter in there as well. I WISH I was getting the lovely vanilla chai that everybody is raving about. This is just olfactorily offensive. Maybe it will smell nice on you but definitely not a blind buy.

Breast milk. I would be afraid to wear it in public, as it would probably draw people’s eyes to my breasts to see if I was lactating. If I had to name this, I’d have called it “Wet Nurse”. I was really hoping to experience some of the other notes, like star anise, but this was milky, milky, milky for a half hour and then faded away into nothing.

Sweet Milk is a “spicy milk” type perfume; it’s gourmand and sweet, but does not smell immature. It is somewhat reminiscent of Matin Calin, except that Matin Calin is more “toasted nut” kind of milk and has that “burnt” note that certain perfumes have sometimes; thankfully, Sweet Milk does not have that note.
Sweet Milk is moderate in strength and surprisingly long-lasting for a Jo Malone creation. But just like Matin Calin, Sweet Milk has been unfortunately discontinued and is now hard to find. If you mourn its disappearance, try Au Lait by DSH – it’s not the same, but still a very pleasant milky scent, those who found Sweet Milk too spicy might enjoy Au Lait better.

There is something sickly sweet about this that I’m not crazy about.
It *almost* reminds me of a vanilla chai latte…maybe one made with artificial sweeteners? But not quite.
It’s creamy, but clean and fresh at the same time. Not rich and warm and comforting like I was expecting. There is no one note that really stands out at once to me, they are all blended together.
You know, it is reminding me strongly of Clinique Simply (which I didn’t like either).
I’ll have to try layering it with other Jo Malones to see if that improves it. For some reason I am thinking something lemony would smell nice with it.
Sillage seems pretty good…I keep getting wafts of it drifting up to my nose, and I only sprayed it once on one wrist.

I will agree with Mushroomfat: WOW!
This is what I thought when I tried on this perfume. It immediately transported me back to my childhood years, when my mom would put honey in our warm milk at night, before we went to sleep. I didn’t get any bergamot at all and I’m glad for it. The milk note disappeared after a while but the sweetness lingered on for a few hours. This is the most comforting scent I’ve ever tried. I will try again, but I think this is a perfume I have to have, either to use alone or to layer with others scents.

All I get is a milky coconut oil smell which gave me a headache and made me feel nauseated. Excellent silage. I love creamy caramel scents but this definitely goes on more coconutty than a buttery gourmand. Very reminiscent of the smell of coconut sticky rice dessert from a Thai restaurant but without the sweetness.

I love anything with milky caramel notes so I blind bought this. I’m not disappointed but I do think it’s overpriced. The bergamot in the opening is sharp, really sharp and bitter actually, but I can smell this caramel condensed milk coming through beneath it, it seems like the milkiness is struggling to break through actually, and the opening is the least favorite part for me, ad it almost seems not well blended and I also question whether it’s really necessary to have the bergamot in this milky creation at all. However once that dissipates I’m left with a lovely gourmand caramelly condensed milk. I mean I just love milk so I knew I’d love this. It’s not the best milky scent I have but it’s good. There isn’t any burnt notes which is good but the star anise provides a hint of depth and sharpness for interest. Overpriced a bit I think but seems to have decent silage and longevity, esp for a cologne.

    This is a review: WOW!!!
It is what it says: Sweet, milky, beautiful.
I reckon I could get away with wearing this, but I may have to mix it with something of a very spicy, coffee mixture, only if wearing by itself proves a lil too femme.
It starts with the obvious milk note, but mixes caramel and star anise for that sweet, candy kick. I dont need to go into a non-sensical, extacy induced rant over how beautiful it is, it smells like sweet, sticky, caramel milk.
This woman is a genius. Whether you like this cologne or not, you must try all of her creations.

    This is not a review.
From the pyramid, I would imagine this to be alot like A*men by Thierry Mugler, but without the coffee and tonka bean, and I’d be willing to blind buy this for the$100+ it would cost lol
