I put one spray of this on the back of my neck 12 hours ago and can still smell it.. Not sure what all the complaints are about. This performs really well.
Oman is elegant, refined and masculine. The floral and berry notes are subtle yet strong enough to lift this composition, making it quite a versatile fragrance. This is a thick and complex perfume but not dark or heavy. Perfectly balanced. The clever use of sandalwood and musk, alongside other ingredients make this very smooth. The way Roja has utilised the main ingredient and taken the best parts of it, while softening the harsh green aspect of frankincense is nothing short of masterful perfumery. To take a note and alter it the way he has done, while staying true to the name of the fragrance and the objective, which is to capture the essence of a nation, is incredible.
My problem with some of Roja’s creations is that they have spectacular openings but as the fragrance dries down the magic starts to disappear and you’re left with a sort of ‘shell of its former self.’ This stays beautiful throughout its entire life. Every whiff is heavenly and I can never get bored of it.
Sultanate of Oman is by far my favourite from this house. So unique, so elegant. This is something I picture a prince from Oman wearing. Liquid gold.

This is probably the most spectacular frankincense scent I’ve ever smelled. The first blast is extremely strong and orgasmic, the combination of rose and incense is incredibly beautiful, this combination lasts for a few hours and as the scent dries down it becomes drier and woodier possibly from the beautiful amyris, which gives the overall fragrance a soft creaminess to it. Although the dry-down becomes much softer it unmistakably remains dry and resinous that stays true to nature of frankincense. Sultanate of Oman is yet another creation by Roja Dove that showcases just how masterful the pefumer really is. He hits this one way out of the park! Bravo!

…Extrait? I can barely smell anything after three hours. The initial application is amazing. For the price and “extrait” label, I would expect this juice to have monster silage/longevity/projection like Black Afgano. Disappointing.

    The good:
Starts off as a knee-weakening, jaw-dropping blend of papyrus and raspberry and frankincense for me. Just gorgeous. Its creamy and smokey all at the same time and i get the cumin in there pretty strongly too-though not like Amouage’s Fate (which is a cumin bomb). Dries down to an almost vanilla oud and spice that is hard to describe but intoxicating. This juice is magnificent.
    The bad:
This does not project anywhere near what I would want it to. Arms length at best as far as I can twll-and only for the first hour at that. It also loses nearly all effectiveness after 3-4 hours past application. Really Roja? Four hours max on something like this with questionable projecttion to boot!? Seriously I get better performance from the reformulated La Nuit. This is nothing too surprising though. Roja has historically (for me) underperformed.
    I’m torn.
Scent: 9/10 just beautiful and hypnotic to my tastes.
    Projection: 4/10 dissapointment.
Sillage: 2/10 virtually none past first spray.
Longevity: 4/10 four hours max is abysmal at this price.
Would I buy a full bottle: the jury is out. Its stunning as a composition but the pefformance issues are stopping me from pulling the trigger.

I loved the frankincense, as others have mentioned, but found the longevity rather disappointing and weak compared to the all the others RD fragrances I’ve worn.

    Love at first sniff!
I’m a huge fan of frankincense and this perfume is full of it. The smell is not overwhelming, it appears with each move you make ever so gently. I’m going to buy myself a full 50ml bottle sooner or later!
The thing about Roja Dove perfumes is how amazing is the stay power .. weither you like the perfume or not .. when you spary it, it’s here to stay!

I really love this scent. It is a frankincense, fruity, oud. I would consider a full bottle.

I don’t understand why you did not put frankincense in the notes, where you put incense, elemi. Best frankincense comes from Dhofar mountains in Oman, and Roja wouldn’t create omani scent without it,even if you don’t know about this.
