Spicy Saffron…
Wonderful fragrance which I have come to enjoy very much. I have tried quite a few from the Comptoir Sud Pacifique line and this is one I have grown to like. I think it stands out from the others which are more gourmandish, whereas this is a spicy floral.
I get the bergamot, patchouli, saffron and amber, along with musk, lilly of the valley and jasmine. It has a musky quality which, coupled with the saffron, can make it seem a little heavy. I don’t mind though, as I think it would work well in either hot or cold weather. It’s one which I think I will keep revisiting. I have never been disappointed from this house and Sultan Safran is no exception. Very good in my opinion.

Sultan Safran is a thrilling spicy scent which is very powerful! Beware! A little goes a long way. I had some on (a tiny bit) and went into a small office. The other person in the office began to have watering eyes from the smell of it.
It’s an all-encompassing, wonderful scent.. but probably best not to wear it in certain situations where its presence might overpower people in your circle. It’s a wonderful creation though.

Ones its name was “Safranier” (1996), but this new one is really different, because doesn’t include nutmeg and cinnamon tree leaf, so “Sultan Safran” smells more like “Oud” by Maison Francis Kurkdjian, than it’s “previous version”.

Comptoir Sud Pacifique SULTAN SAFRAN is a warm woody oriental fragrance which varies a lot on my skin according to the temperature and humidity.
In cooler weather SULTAN SAFRAN seems to my nose a somewhat feminine and rather spicy oriental, with saffron clearly detectable along with other flowers and the wood. In hot weather, SULTAN SAFRAN becomes more of a woody aromatic with a mildly masculine demeanor even in the drydown.
The complexity of this fragrance is appealing to me, but I can see how some might be put off by what they interpret to be inconsistency. Some men may find SULTAN SAFRAN too feminine, while some women may find it too masculine. The longevity is very good, and while this fragrance does wear well in the summer, I do prefer its cooler temperature personality on my skin.

Sultan Safraan… this name made me have big expectations. I come from Kuwait where the word sultan stands for luxury and Safran for great scent and taste.
This scent is good,,….but i dont think it is a Sultan of Safran. I dont feel the pressence of the Sultan and his richness here. But i do smell a complex and yet modest scent. It is well done and mannerd..
It starts with a power blast of at least 10 movments at the same time…. sweet, herbal, lemon zest, fresh oily, sharp spices softend with almonds.
within 3 minutes it starts to grow up in to a mature movment…bit slower…….green herbal and fresh mixed with some soapy powdery feeling…throw the opening as throuw the second stage i can smell the safron…but really subtle. The base notes a quite and peacefull musky and powdery mixed with soem left over of the midnotes.
i am enjoying it….i can recomend for the summer, fall, and when ever u need freshness without too much lemons or bergamote.
