this guy is betwean santal royal guerlain and oud noir versace, it’s really good for so cheap

It changes every time. After my shower it is very robust and clear oud, otherwise it is just wood, to be more precise – smells like bark. Spices are present, not peppery though.

    Weak and rubbish

  4. :

Not oud at all. It is just a blend of a 3-4 synthetic esters (benzotes and salicylates) in vegetable oil. You get what you pay for. Not impressed at all.

Not exactly the same but close enough to Black Afgano if you are on a budget.

This is a very nice woody musky oudy oil. I wish it was stronger on me because its wonderful. I layered it with Tooty Musk from Al Rehab and its very nice! My advice? If you have a heavily scented sweet fragrance, add some of this and it will dirty it up a bit and make it more complex and yummy. It is more than worth the 5.49 (including shipping) on Ebay.

    nice surprise for layering!
alone i’m not a fan, don’t know how to describe (woody sweet nauseateing…), but maybe i just don’t want to smell like this^^
AND… i tried it out with al rehab oud&rose(not on fragantica) and it’s amazing!
Rose oud is a bit rosy-weirdy, but with sultan al oud it become superb.
I layer it to add a woody-incens, and it’s really good

Takes me on a journey into the forest. It has just rained. Somewhere in the distance there is a campfire. Lovely and gentle. Skin scent that stays close to the body. I love the little bottles that fit nicely in a purse. The great price means that you don’t have to break the bank in order to try it and can give yourself a little treat often. I just bought 6 and am looking forward to trying them all. I am now searching this line for a more intense oud with big projection. Any suggestions? Also wanting a jasmine and amber. I am a huge fan of Muglers Alien.

Smokey, spicy, yet surprisingly smooth thanks to the oud and vanilla. I’ve tried about a dozen oils from this house and this is by far my favorite (2nd is King of Oudh followed by Choco Musk).
Hidden gem. Very easy to wear, even in warmer weather since you can tell that there’s a bit of cedar in here to give it a bit of freshness. This is easily one of the best layering scents ever, especially if you want to bump up the masculinity of another fragrance a notch.

This one smell like dry sawdust. I don’t get much musk, and usually reach out for this often when need a wooden base. Light projection and average longevity.

  11. :

Oud, woods and musk are the dominant notes. Musk I struggle with as it is too close to animal sexual glands for my taste. Oud too is an acquired taste, coming from rotten wood.
That said, I love the dry wood smell, which reminds me of explorations I did of the uninhabited outbuildings and attics of the home I grew up in. Dusty, internal wooden frames of buildings from another century; haunted, dark and pungent.

    Fragrance -Sultan Al Oud Al-Rehab
    Bottle from – 2016
Sultan Al Oud reminds me a little bit of a ancient trees in the amazon rainforest. It has some similarities to Black Afgano by Nasomatto and Oud Alshain by Tiziana Terenzi.
    It’s a beautiful,woody,spicy,musky and oriental scent.
Vanilla tones down harsh oudy notes makes Sultan Al Oud look like more appealing, more refined and more mass pleasing fragrance.”Quality/Cost Ratio”is extremely high.

Silage/Projection – 8/10(nice projection and silage for the first 2-3 hours)

So Musky ! One of the best animal/skin musk perfumes. Didn’t expect this wonder. Nice projection and sillage. Lasts 3-5 hours.
May irritate nose and throat if one is sensitive, in the initial 15-30 minutes.
Very synthetic and chemical infused oil, nonetheless the fragrance is really good.

If you want to know how Black Afgano by Nasomatto smells, this is it Sultan Al Oud by Al Rehab. The only difference is that Black Afgano has better performance.

  15. :

Nice scent. Should be called Sultan Al Musk though, not Sultan Al Oud, because musk is the dominant note, not oud.
Too soapy and feminine for me, so I gave it to my girlfriend. She likes it for warmer weather wear.
    The price is unbeatable!

Reminds me a bit of L’Artisan L’Eau du Navigateur. Also, it’s very nice combined with Al Rehab Denh al Oud. (Beside or on top…both work.) Smells like a warm, welcoming fireplace.
Choco Musk on pulse points makes this combination sing.

This is a comfort fragrance for me.. it just makes me feel warm and good when I smell it on my wrist. So far it is my favorite oud perfume! The oud is strong and a bit barnyard-y but not so much that it makes me cringe. White musk and vanilla reel in the big oud beast. My husband unfortunately doesn’t like it, he says it smells like “strong Indian incense”…I agree but I love that smell 🙂

    Chocolatey and syrupy nature.
It’s very rich, and my favourite of all my Al-Rehabs.

  19. :

Smokey- rich oudy – wood scent.
I am happy is without sandalwood sweetness.
This one is really quiet and stylish.
    I like it a lot.
On me it dry down with cedar tree which I like a lot.
for this price you can’t beat it.
Of course if Dior would make the same one we would have to pay $200- $250… nonsense… arabic perfumes are amazing. Just because they have a great price dont neglect them.
They should have respect as high end perfumes.
I buying mine in Devon Ave – Chicago a lot of Islamic Information Center~ Sound Vision is my fav! paki/desi stores have them as well.

I have worn this a couple times before, and it certainly isn’t one of Al Rehab’s stronger ones―for a powerhouse, try the beautiful vintage-y Saat Safa.
It is not sweet, but based on another member’s review, I purchased this one, and not Oudy. That user said something about Sultan al Oud being sweeter than Oudy, and since I’m very much an oud novice, I appreciated this oil’s higher marks on the user-friendly category.
The other times I’ve worn this, I got bored waiting for it to develop and soon layered it with the intense and skanky Dehn al Oud.
But tonight when applying this, it seemed stronger than before, and I instantly noticed an intense cedar oil note, very pleasant. I get a hint of oud, and maybe a suggestion of “spices.” I do detect musk, which is not my favorite, and which may be why other reviewers can’t smell this oil, as many people are anosmic to certain musks.
I recommend this oil to anyone who likes woody perfumes, or who is interested in dipping their toe (or wrist!) into the waters of oud fragrances, especially since it is so inexpensive.

Rich, smokey, woody and not a sweet, powdery floral in sight. Heaven. I love it. Unfortunately, none of the Al Rehab attars I have last more than an hour. Disappointing.

  22. :

Nice spicy and oud smell but because of culture differences I couldn’t wear this as please, so I use it mainly for layering

  23. :

This was overpowering for me. I like some Arabian oils and attars, but I have not enjoyed any of Al-Rehab’s oud scents.
I see comparisons to Jovan Secret Amber. I love Secret Amber and I find zero common factors for the two frags. Secret Amber is great and a bargain. This was money wasted for me.

I was excited to get this after great experiences with uber-masculine LORD and SUPERMAN from the Al-Rehab house. But unfortunately I can’t smell anything with Sultan Al Oud? I rolled on a few passes, and got nothing but a very faint woody note. So I rolled on a few more, and once again, got nothing. It’s possible I’m anosmic to oud because I had the same problem with Oudy from the same house… sadly could not smell anything but a very faint wood note. This is strange because Sultan Al Oud is suppose to have other notes other than oud such as wood (cedar I think) and spices. But I get nothing. It’s frustrating because this is one of the most highly rated fragrances from the Al-Rehab house, right up there will Silver. Maybe I got a bad batch or something? Oh well, it was only $5 for the roller. Anybody else anosmic to this one?

  25. :

This is as simple and appealing as a sunrise. There’s not a lot of notes, largely cedar, everlasting daisies/wattle and some musk at the back but it so gentle and calming. It is also not particularly strong but extremely persistently with not much change in volume.
I would declare this work safe. This stays very close to you and it’s not the kind d of scent that would annoy people. My feeling is that if you managed to offend someone with this, that individual would be invading your personal space to a ridiculous degree and being very picky in their creepiness.

This is my first foray into Oud and I’m not quite sure what to think! I thought I would love it because I love sandalwood and amber, and oud seems to show up in a lot of those combos. Before taking the plunge or making an expensive blind buy mistake, I purchased this from ebay.
It is very, very smokey. Almost feel like I’m by a campfire. This just isn’t sweet enough for me. It’s very dry, and VERY masculine. Which usually isn’t a problem for me – I love mens’ fragrances and wear them often. In fact, I think ALL fragrances should just be unisex and we should do away with this whole gender thing because I very rarely love “womanly” florals. However, this is just so smokey, I can’t take it. 🙁 Shame because it’s very strong, and very nice for the price.
I did experiment a little and if you mix this with amber oil or something a little rich and sweet, it adds maturity and depth, and cuts down on the sweetness.
I certainly want to try more Al-Rehab oils, but I am not sure if Oud and I will be playing together much in the future.
EDIT: This does NOT work on me. On my skin it smells like gasoline. It’s very dry and very smoky. I’m absolutely willing to swap this baby or give it a good home. I can no longer even layer it, it takes over everything it touches, haha! If you like STRONG, DRY OUD, then this one’s for you.

I really love the color of juice and bottle. I think this is the combination of Al Rehab Sultan and Oud. Not everyone around you will like this perfume. This perfume is rather strong and long lasting. I really love sniffing this perfume. Be careful when you apply it on your skin. Even after shower, I can still smell the scent on my skin.

I tried this on on the same day as lattafa raghba and to me this (on my skin) smells like a less sweet and more woody version. A number of people have mentioned ameer al oud by lattafa and I would guess it would be quite likely that they would smell similar, based on my nose immediately smelling similarities with raghba from the same house. The wood is smooth, comforting and not at all harsh or skanky, when applied in moderation and there is a smooth but not sweet vanilla. It smells like one of the better blended oils from al rehab, who most definitely have a few gems in their huge range to rival scents many times their price. I’ve not tried the spray and I’ve often found with al rehab that there is quite a difference between oils and sprays. For the money you cannot go wrong….but use sparingly. I can still smell the tiny dot on my wrist as I’m typing this.

This is the fragrance that I’m looking for a long long time ago.
Excellent Oudy woody but not very strong. And I think more suitable for men.

  30. :

This is a sweet soft version of Black Afgano. Light and fluffy… Not the dark smokey beast you get from the Nasomatto Rock Star. I think this is a great beginning point for oud! I got the roll-on and LOVE IT!
An other scent that is a very close dupe of Black Afgano I got for Christmas, was Hates Elixer from DUA… Not listed yet on Fragrantica… Now this is crazy strong and dense.

    Oud my heavens!
This is my first oud fragrance, so I’m not sure what to compare it to (in terms of quality), but so far I LOVE this smell. Woody and a little strong to start, but within a few minutes it warms into this sweet and vanillic, ambery, soft spicy woody wonder that reminds me of the bodega-style middle eastern markets i’d go to when i lived on the coast.
Oud is a masculine note to me, but here it’s blended for a soft, comforting effect that I find very soothing and almost feminine. No surprise that it’s unisex though, as this juice would smell awesome on a man.
(Speaking of which, this also reminds me of my first true love, and the smell I remember from his parents’ house. They were first generation refugees from Iran, and their house always smelled like this incense-y soft spicy woody note that I never thought I’d find wearable, but here I am, sniffing my wrist for the single spritz I applied, and smiling.)
Sillage is strong enough for others a few feet away to notice when the breeze blows, but it’s not overpowering. So far, I’ve only gotten compliments, but I would still recommend using conservatively, because it does project.
This is also my first scent from Al-Rehab, which I thought would be a good bet for a blind buy because of their really cheap prices. And I was right – great deal for a blind buy, and for an introduction to oud. And to me, the overall quality is impressive, and the character of this fragrance and its notes are very unique, different from anything else available here.
I swear I’m not done with this house by a long shot. I’ll be ordering other scents like this one, I’m sure!

  32. :

i love it, it’s just so good. opening is bit harsh, but after 20 minutes it becomes very good oudy and woody scent with spices. like a prince of arabia or persia. for the price it’s a must have. longetivity is moderate and the projectios is soft for me. i think it’s more suitable for men, than a women.

  33. :

    4 out of 5

What a beautifully soft introduction to oud!
It bears some resemblance to the popular Arabian, Raghba, but without the almost legendary incense, sugar, and massive sillage. ( I can readily believe it is almost identical to Ameer Oud by the same house.) Sultan Al Oud feels unisex, if only because it isn’t as overwhelmingly sweet. It is like an airy version of the swirling incense and thick Pepsi-Cola that is Rahgba!
There are many ways you can enjoy such a pleasant attar. School, work, family time! While I personally prefer richest, strongest attars, this is no criticism. There are times when you NEED a softer scent. It would make an ideal first oud for men or women.
In a similar vein, I would recommend Nabeel’s attar, Illusion, as a sweeter, stronger Raghba-like scent. It is Raghba on a budget and ideal for those ready to graduate to a ‘thicker’ balsamic oud treat. 🙂

I LOVE this one. So oudy woody spicy. Unicorn. So so good smells expensive especially drydown. And with 6 ml you never get a dread that you will never use it up. Perfect.

I had to review this..most of al rehab on me does not work .
But i respect what they do very much.
But this oil to me should not be ignored , it is very. Very good..not like dehn al oud which is hospital detergent…this one sultan al oud is in a much higher league its not complecated it dosnt need to be.. its just very very good oud scent with a soft vanilla but the oud scent is just so good perfum quality and perfurmance is just butifull.
I need to get the 6 pack .
    Thank you ..marko.
Update:after two weeks with this …it became my new signature scent its a very very good perfume.

  37. :

I’m smelling this for the first time. Really really nice — same as electricmind, I immediately thought of Black Afgano too.
It started off pretty loudly but 30 minutes later it has settled into a lovely, soft vanilla-oud smell – I’m really liking this so far!
/EDIT – this is one of my favourite Al-Rehab oils for sure. The spray is great too but I’ve never actually worn it – only used as a room spray

  38. :

    5 out of 5

Not too harsh, sharp or animalic. This is a great starter oud , nicely softened with vanilla for those that have never tried it before. If you don’t like this, it’s safe to assume oud is not for you. This one is also great for layering and IMO, the best of the really cheap oud’s available.

  39. :

    5 out of 5

    Medicinal wood.
There is something soft and inviting in the basenotes, but unfortunately it’s buried under layers of woody, herbal… Something.
This is my first foray into woody scents, I feel trapped in a tree trunk oozing with sap. I will let my partner try it out, maybe his body chemistry is a better match for this fragrance. In going to pass.

  40. :

    4 out of 5

For the price, this is absolutely outstanding. My first experience with Al Rehab, and this one is really quite impressive. There’s not so much a top-middle-base progression with this one as with alcohol-based scents. Rather, the notes just blend together to make a creamy sweet nutty woody mixture, that lasts for 10-12 hours on my typically dry skin. It does not change at all, from the top to the bottom.
The only complaint I have with this one is that the oud (if it’s even real oud, which I HIGHLY doubt at this price point) is a bit sharp and skanky, while never crossing the line to barnyard/fecal (which I hate). I’m surprised nobody has mentioned the similarities between this an Nasomotto’s Black Afgano. While Nasomotto is clearly smoother and overall much higher quality, the strong guiac wood mixed with spices and vanilla has about an 80% resemblance to Black Afgano.
But again, for the price, this one is an absolute banger, definitely smells far far better than the price would indicate. Avoid hot weather with this, as it can suffocate, but it absolutely shines below 70F (21 celsius). I will have to check out more from Al Rehab, the quality is better than I expected…

Finally found it in the most crowded traditional market in city center. Where you can find middle eastern stall. I never imagined myself to go to one of the stall, but today.
    Impression: Rose, Animalic, Dirty.
    What I don’t like:
foul saliva’s smell. Like someone spit on your face. My wife doesn’t like it. She said it smell like a piss.

  42. :

    4 out of 5

I’ve tried 5 Al Rehabs, 4 were underwhelming. This is a surprise *love* which I couldn’t stop smelling my wrist. It succeeds in being extremely warm, cosy, sweet, creamy and woody without being a gourmand. It is a scent I love to snuggle into bed or to warm up a chilly morning with. Another achievement that impressed me, no plasticky notes.

  43. :

love this oil, incense and clove and powdery oud, absolute heaven and lasts for hours. lovely find from Al Rehab, I will try some more of their oils based on my lucky find with this one 🙂

  44. :

    5 out of 5

I bought 5 Al Rehabs and didn’t really like 4, but on the brightside I discovered Sultan Al Oud which made up for the other 4 disappointments. This is woody with spice and vanilla. The Oud here is perfectly approachable and tasteful. It smells latexy and almost has a chlorine note to it, giving the Oud a clean feel. This reminds me of a cheap oil version of Versace Oud Noir or TF Oud Wood. I have been dying to get Oud Wood, but this has satisfied my thirst for the time being. The only letdown of this oil is the poor sillage. I can still see myself keeping this stocked in my collection to apply generously.

Unbeatable value ! Natural smelling notes , with no barnyard . If you are starting a journey into oud or Middle eastern fragrance then start here !

  46. :

Perfectly oud. It opens strong and sweet and earthy, then mellows to a creamy golden amber. It smells like an Indian imports emporium full of dark wood and golden objects.

  47. :

    4 out of 5

I really like this fragrance, very sweet and woody – oud not ‘in your face’. I wore it all morning today, after which it faded considerably. I have decided that it’s too masculine for me, unless layered with something floral, to give it a higher note. Husband’s collection has now swelled 50% – I gave him the Silver 2 weeks ago. The Silver layered over the Sultan al Oud is fabulous for men.
I shall be borrowing it occasionally to add a good base note to ‘shouty’ florals, to calm them down a bit.

  48. :

    5 out of 5

I find this to be an excellent oud fragrance, very long lasting. The woody sharpness is softened just slightly with the addition of vanilla, great for times when you want a lighter scent. It’s good on it’s own, and also lends itself well to layering with a variety of other perfumes and oils. I totally agree with the many reviewers who say that the quality of this is FAR higher than the price. I’ve been trying to convince people for years that expensive does not necessarily equal quality, mostly to no avail – but I have personally tried samples of quite a few high priced oud fragrances, and find Sultan Al Oud to be as good as any of them, (better in some cases)!

  49. :

    3 out of 5

Very very similar to Ameer Al Oud, a little less sweet & more woody than Lattafa’s offering but other than that its pretty close, for the price these sell for its a bargain & a easy blind buy!

  50. :

    3 out of 5

I’ve been wearing this lately trying to put a dent in it.
The oud is kind of sharp and very woody.
At first, I thought this was really similar to ScentStory 24 Gold, but realize that 24 is more well rounded than this. It may be nice to layer with other scents to give it an oud-woody note, but by itself, I find it soapy and sharp.
    Okay longevity and good sillage.

  51. :

    3 out of 5

I like Sultan Al Oud. It gives me a softer choice to Dehn Al Oud. Here the wood is softened by the presence of florals and vanilla .. even the spices help soften what is quite a powerhouse. When I want to reek man scent and feel raw? Dehn Al Oud. When I want that same feeling but with an added elegance? Sultan Al-Oud. I still place this a power level above Zidan, Cobra and Lord. For me, enjoying Al-Rehabs is understanding their power levels and knowing which is best for when.

  52. :

*I do not have a nose that is well trained – this is my rudimentary opinion of this scent*
I took this one for a test wear while I was around my house for the evening. It lasted quite a good while and I could catch decent wafts of it after applying a bit to the crook of my arm several hours afterwards. The scent though, not for me sadly. While I definitely can tell it is the woodsy note present (I assume it is oud, I haven’t experienced it prior to this), it occasionally was reminiscent of salty body odor / dried urine.
This oil has a very smooth smell and doesn’t come across as synthetic. It also smells better when sniffing the bottle (that rancid smell isn’t nearly as pronounced), so it may be my skin chemistry that isn’t playing well with this one.
I can see why this fragrance could be appealing to some but I can’t see myself even attempting to give it another test run. Since I am assuming the note is oud – if you enjoy the smell of that ingredient then you should be quite happy with this one – especially considering it can be had for the price of ~$5 to your door.

Not all that good really. I had hoped for something unusual, but smells cheap and nasty. Ok if you have religious objections to alcohol in scents. Luckily, I’m free to do as I please!

Its all about OUD.. LOUD OUD…
soften by musky and powdery feels..
I try the spray 35ml bottle.
Love to spray it on my pashmina or praying cloak. Very Arabic..
    addition:
It’s not something I would like to smell all day, but its something I want to sniff it again and again.

This one is loaded with oud and mildly spiced with faint floral accord .The oud is joined by oriental incense throughout the entire trip .And vanilla kept oud in check, as I’m pretty newer to oud this was much easygoing than other hardcore ouds eg. Dehn-al-Oud, Oud Abiyad etc.
The design/printing on box is superbly designed!

    @ Sam ldh
Totally agree with you, these oils really are great and often misquoted online in the available few reviews, and information on arabian perfumes is already scarce!
So your thorough reviews are appreciated!
    Keep it going!

this is identical to ameer al oud by lattafa , only less harsh at the first spray and goes to the drydown faster .. amazing sillage and longevity but not as beastly as ameer al oud , and for … 2$ .. amazing
this reviews is on the spray 35 ml. bottle.

I can smell prominent Virginia cedarwood oil and oud. The oud is the young, un-aged variety – typical of Al-Rehab ouds and having an oily, buttery and almost nutty quality. Overall, this is an absolutely wonderful fragrance. Very soft, slightly spicy, a hint of sweetness, but not too much. There are other notes in here, but they have been added simply to enhance the woods. I find this very manly and royal.

Ooooh, oh oooh OH!!!!!..orgasmic vibrations over, i must say this is delicious!!!! On application you are struck by a sweet, deep, woody soft, vanillic sensation, but the wood is prevalent here though not masculine at all, rather resinous and sweet, not cloying or artificial, the spices work so well, this is very well blended indeed, that produces a sweet woody spicy vanillic sensation with the floral sweetness lingering in the background! Sultry sultry sultry!!!! I detect a touch of incense, a tobacco kind of note towards the dry down but that could be the wood/oud combo! What a wowzer!!!! It is very long lasting, sillage is moderate as with all oils, but the power of it and sensuality is MONSTROUS! It is SHOCKING that such a great fume comes so affordable! This is a must for oriental fumes lovers!

Received today and tested a little. Super strong with oud, sandalwood and vanilla being most prominent to my nose. I get a similar vibe as from Scentstory Gold 24, i.e. sweet woody oud fragrance. I will update this later…
So, here we go: applied very liberally and rubbed all over. Now I am getting a very different impression than the one I got from putting a little on my wrist! This is quite a smoky Al Rehab with lots of wood and oud. I was also a little reminded of Al Rehab Dehn al Oud. All in all a very good composition, try if you like spicy woody oud scents – this is really unisex although may appeal more to men.

I love this scent, I find it deep and comforting. Am not great at picking out the individual notes, but love the wood in this. It also reminds me of Hajar al Aswad, Surrati, which I love, too. I am glad I discovered these oils as I am pretty sure I will not waste tons of money on overpriced EDPs anymore.
