Description

Jil Sender presents a gorgeous trio of pastel editions, as olfactive variations of the original composition in cooperation with Coty Prestige. The three new perfumes were created by Bernard Ellena, perfumer in charge of the first, original edition, Jil Sender Style.

The three perfumes arrive in pale nuances of pink, green and yellow and they were named Blush Pink, Tender Green and Soft Yellow. Minimalist bottles with lacquered sides are romantic extensions of the original.

Soft Yellow has a breath of oriental face of the original with bitter orange, yellow freesia, orange blossom, vanilla and amber. The perfumes are presented to the market in September 2008, in the amount of 50ml.

This is so much more powdery than I expected. The vanilla and the orange are there, but they play second fiddle to all the powder. I think I like it even though the initial powder blast does make me sneeze a little. Definitely a unique scent. I got this for a great price and the bottle is very pretty as well.

I surprisingly fell in love with this one. I got it for an amazing price and blind bought it. Hopefully the love will last. It seems perfect for a day outside in the sun. Its a clean scent and makes me want to take a walk on the beach.

I just received this fragrance in mail. What a nice find! I blind bought it because I liked the bottle and have never tried anything by Jil Sander. It is a nice combination of orange, orange blossom and vanilla. I like the cozy, warm, comfortable feeling I get from it. Vanilla here isn’t sweet and orange isn’t too juicy. This is a really pleasant, casual fragrance that I find quite unique.

This is my second favorite day time fragrance. The opening is harsh, but it settles into a wonderful creamy and dreamy fragrance in a matter of minutes. Like Sun, this is also one of my man’s favorite fragrances. I think I just draw bigger compliments when I wear Lolita Lempicka, which I wear just as an evening fragrance. Unfortunately the lasting power of Pastels Soft Yellow is quite poor on me. But the price is low enough that I can keep on applying it to get the “I feel real good” vibe, and she smells SO DIVINE, that I don’t mind carrying her around with me to reapply when needed. I bought several back up bottles of this and of Sun – I never want to be without Jil Sander Sun and Jil Sander Style Pastels Soft Yellow. They are both so up my alley.

I’m so surprised amber is so far down the list here. To me, this is a dry, creamy, herbal, non-sweet vanilla Amber scent.
As mentioned before, the lack of sweetness is like a lotion. It has a sense of Sun in that way, but is extremely different.
It is unfortunate that this doesn’t get more attention. I think I paid less than $15 for my NIB bottle on eBay. What an awesome bargain!
It smells like nothing else I’ve ever smelled. As with most Sander fragrances, each note is balanced brilliantly. This is by far one of the most unique takes on vanilla I’ve ever smelled… Not a small feat.
This has gone from solid like to highly admired, to a love.

Soft Yellow is an interesting one. It is definetely soft but by no means subtle. It has good sillage and lasts quite some time (esp on clothes). In its powderiness it is similar to Jil and I agree with it being a bright and sunny fragrance, despite it having a spicyness to it that some might find off-putting. You have to like pepper in a scent to appreciate this one. It is an uplifting spring fragrance for someone who likes a bit of oomph in their scent without it being overpowering. Suitable for casual and office wear but only for those who don’t mind a bit of spice – like a lemon tart mixed in a blender with powder and some cracked pepper.

Soft yellow is very clean, soft and cuddly fragrance. Vanilla and orange flower are the perfect couple. Vanilla in this fragrance is very soft and non-sweet, like a body lotion.

I bought it in blind because I love classical Style. I came across a real bargain online and couldn’t leave it!
Soft Yellow has much in common with classical Style, the leading, a bit herbal note is here. Believe me, I wouldn’t have called the fragrance soft. One tiny spray and I leave a trace wherever I go at home (I haven’t checked outside yet but I’ll update). Actually the fragrance starts more green than yellow, green-yellow altogether with that unique herbal feel classical Style has. It recalls Sun a bit, no wonder, Soft Yellow is supposed to be yellow and sunny. It becomes yellow afterwards. I don’t detect much of yellow freesia, which is so prominent in yellow Mandarina Duck for example – here it’s softer. Amber, orange blossom, vanilla – they are.
The fragrance is thick, cosy, creamy, feminine and Guerlain-like – in the meaning of powderiness, softness and feminity – there’s something similar to L’Instant in it. Who likes L’Instant, Trussardi Inside, may like Soft Yellow. Bottle is nice, I like this minimalism and modern, classical look.

Thanks for your kind answers! Let me answer my question by myself : Yes, you can find Jil Sander’s Style Pastels Soft Yellow in Duty Frees, especially in Duty Free Dubrovnik. This perfume is unique, it smells far different from the perfumes i have ever tried so far. It is a vannilish, creamy, maybe a little milky scent. I must admit that even my mom asked the name of my perfume so this perfume is an ‘I am here!’ perfume. It’s bottle is minimalist, modern i don’t think that it looks like an medicine bottle it is just not girly. If you are tired of this girly bottles give this a try.

For about two minutes I really like Jill Sander Style Pastels SOFT YELLOW: a creamy, almost dreamy sweet woody floriental. Unfortunately, the creaminess swiftly subsides, leaving behind a somewhat boring and familiar-to-the-point-of-being-banal sandalwood-ish scent. There are so many of these around by now, and they seem pretty interchangeable to my nose. This one is an average composition, I’d say, falling somewhere in the mid-range of its class. Certainly not repugnant, and this one happily does not turn sour or smell grotesquely synthetic, but it’s also not something that I would reach for before dozens of other significantly more enticing oriental perfumes. Light and inoffensive, SOFT YELLOW is an everyday scent. 5.20.11

I’m not too familiar with Jil Sander as a fragrance house as I’ve never found her range in Australia, ever. I bought this fragrance blind because I liked the description of creamy vanilla and spiced fruits.
This fragrance opens with a sweet and juicy orange note, and a hint of caramel syrup. It reminds me of Calvin Klein’s CK IN2U, as it’s a soft scent with citrusy and creamy accords, providing a sensual balance.
Style Pastels Soft Yellow is quite a happy go-lucky scent, which is indeed very yellow and bright. The vanilla note comes and goes; sometimes creamy and sometimes powdery. It’s not overwhelmingly unique, but I adore it because of its versatility to be worn in Summer. This is far from being a cloying vanilla.
Despite its softness and brightness, I wouldn’t say that this fragrance smells particularly clean on my skin. Freesia often turns to soap on me, but in this instance it does not. Instead it smells foody and feminine all the way through the composition.
The drydown is less sweet than the opening, however the heart is made up of mostly white woods, powdered vanilla and spicy amber. The drydown is a really lovely end to a delicious scent that lingers for hours. It can be a little strong upon the first application, but after a few hours it mellows into something quite intimate. I highly recommend.

This fragrance really impressed me with how easy it is to wear! It doesn’t feel very complex, but it feels very feminine. The florals are sweet, soft, and powdery (similar in style to Lacoste Pour Femme), and the base is a delightfully soft amber-vanilla scent!
    I find it extremely comforting!

Such an elegant creamy pretty fragrance,
Purchased as I love the origional style and liked the reviews here.
The components of this fragrance are balanced and complementary,(once the initial burst of the orange blossom/bitter orange have settled)
I consistantly recieve comments when I wear it. Ladies seem to like it more than men so I wouldnt recommend this for a date/romantic occasion.. It probably is a little too clean for that really.
On a downside ~ the first few minutes after spraying it is on the strong side, Ive been asked withing 10 minutes of spraying ‘did you just put perfume on?’

It is creamy, creamy and creamy. For a second, I thought there is coconut inside, but I guess it is base notes of vanilla.
Somehow top notes are a bit shy. It is like they are fresh for a second and than they become pastel orange…
I enjoy wearing it in the summer sunset… it matches atmosphere perfectly!

Terrible packaging but very sweet soft fragrance. I wish that it looked better on the outside though so that I can put it out on display. This looks more like it should be in a medicine cabinet next to the pepto bismol rather than on a vanity.

A romantic is qualifiable as a soft fragrance. His suppleness quotes the Oriental man’s ghost rather. You are walking on carpet covered with orange blossoms, in which the freshness of the bitter orange brings a cooling breeze as a tiny sample,. The last steps the vanilia, and ambergris makes it noiseless softly. The subsiding threads of the carpet looped gently preserve our footprints long.

I was in a store looking for the normal Style, when I saw that this one and the blush pink were reduced to 20€, so I tested them all 3 and liked this one the most, because of the vanilla that made it skinnier than the other 2. So I bought it. But when I was at home after 1-2 hours it was soo sticky, that I had to wash it off. Actually, I would have never bought it for the normal price, and also sold it immediately:) Jil Sander scents are not for me, I think. But maybe you´ll love it on your skin?!

It’s the Pastel that’s most similar to Style – just a bit more creamy, sweet and complete.
