This is yummy!! A cloud of powdery rose/jasmine with a vanilla bourbon drydown. I also catch the underpinning of Labdanum which give it some interest. It’s quality stuff,,,and gets better with each wearing. Although a powdery rose,,,it could work on guys. It is sweet, but not cloying!! I like Cosmic too,,,more bergamot and myrrh,,plus the smooth florals (a chypre), but Stoned is more my style. The bottle is goofy,,but they do include an atomizer that seals the bottle too!! (This is an old review I did on BN; the perfume is available in the Solange store in Manhattan. I’m glad it’s not discontinued)

Stoned has all my favourite accords and shares characteristics with some of my treasured perfumes like Musc Ravageur and Dries Van Noten from Frederic Malle, L’air de Rien by Miller Harris. The labdanum, musk, vanilla and a buttery suede-leathery effect stand out the most for me from the beginning to the end, which was about 8 hours on clothes for me. An unobtrusive sillage but anyone entering your personal space will want to stay there. It’s oddly comforting and yet sensual, like a fluffy Maine Coon with David Bowie a la Labyrinth eyeliner, prowling confidently and in a way only felines and clothes-horses can achieve. It smells expensive yet naughty, like laying under 800 thread count sheets butt-naked. All the above scents including Stoned give me the same imagery and emotions. For me, Dries Van Noten comes the closest in terms of smell, but the opening of DVN is spicy and sharp (cloves and nutmeg) in a way that Stoned never is. MR has more cinnamon and vanilla than Stoned does and LADR features musk, amber and patchouli. These scents are what Narciso Rodriguez failed to achieve on my skin, warm, musky, decadent temptresses with smoky, breathy come-hither attitudes. For those who already own the above mentioned scents, Stoned may not be a must-buy if trying to save on money and avoiding having too many similar scents.
I have a decent decant to enjoy Stoned and despite owning the others that have characteristics of Stoned, I might consider getting a FB of this sometime in the future. The name and bottle are compelling factors too and one cannot have enough musks can one?

I’ve found MY Shalimar.
For me, Stoned feels a bit like Shalimar and is deserving of all the superlatives and accolades frequently showered upon the grande dame by fragrance enthusiast. Like, Shalimar, Stoned is sophisticated, classic, timeless, but more…..so much more to me. She’s more approachable, more powdery (to my nose) and much more likely to find a permanent place in my wardrobe.
Musky? Not to me. Vanilla? I don’t think so.
Labdanum, oakmoss and baby powder as you’ve never experienced it? YES!
Stoned smells how I feel when I first take off my suit and heels, sophisticated, but inviting 🙂

My experience with this scent is a great example of the adaptive quality of perfume. On me the scent came accross too powdery. However, I gave the sample to a friend and the jasmine, rose, vanilla bourbon and other subtleties of the fragrance became more pronounced and smelled lovely.

Loved the fragrance. Sadly it lasts only a short while and sits extremely close to the skin. Not worth the bucks IMO. Now if it lasted and had improved sillage then I might consider spending more, but on my skin it faded amazingly fast.

Well I am still honing my skills when it comes to reviewing fumes… So here goes my attempt at this truly unique perfume. I have been admiring this from afar-perhaps because of the bottle or even the price, but I really wasn’t considering the notes even though they are right up my alley. But wow I really think this it’s DIFFERENT and unique. Lately everything seems to run together and starts to smell repetitious of one another especially since I tend to trend a certain way with my fragrances, but not this juice.
The rose is very dainty to me (apparent) but not overwhelming. The vanilla is sweet and subdued but the musk is so warm and soothing. There is a bit of spicyness to this as well (can’t put my finger on it) its a classic scent and wears close to the skin, by no means is this a silage monster. It also doesn’t have a lot of staying power- this could be due to the small amount I sprayed on my arm trying to conserve the amount I still have left. I still love the bottle and I do like the juice.. Do I want to drop 300 maybe… But I definitely like this perfume. And a big shout out to my friend panterachik for sending me this sample so that I could experience it.

i found this at Saks fifth avenue and couldn’t resist it ..went back and forth two times and on my third visit just couldn’t help it no more..as if i was hooked from that first sniff!.. i bought it..i think it has something addictive in it, for real ,as the name suggests..!
the perfume it self reminds me of all my all time favourite like shalimar gurline. opium ysl,coco chanel, obsession ck etc…its woody, ambary, smoky, musky ,powdery, with an amazing dry down.. its almost a bitter fragrance.. defiantly balmy.. you can hardly feel the roses.. its a mature.. unique.. scent that swept me back to all time classics. .its very seductive ,, extremely dangerous .so be ware use sparingly…i love the bottle it just sits there like a temple of love or a gypsy fortune teller it reminds me of the hippies era and peace and love a truly Bohemic perfume .. i feel this perfume has so much heritage..history.. mystery.. its so deep , dark, with some supernatural powers…its a bit scary i think there should be an age limit of 18+ ….!
i think it will be a timeless treasure and a classic one.. i am so glad i got it ..it keeps growing on me every time i smell it..and every time it smells some how a bit different from the first time its like magic..

Stoned is a ridiculous scent. When I first received a decant, I wasn’t instantly smitten, but over time the absolute decadence of it has endeared it to me: it comes in a red crystal decanter, claims “diamond dust” as one of its ingredients, and is named “Stoned”. I mean, really. The nose behind the scent is Lynn Harris of Miller Harris, who created it for the London-based jewelry designer Solange Azagury-Partridge.
What initially put me off is that on first application, Stoned has what Lucky Scent refers to as ” an incredibly attractive retro quality to the fragrance, making it reminiscent of the luxurious perfumes of the past.” Tina Sanchez also touches on this in Perfumes: the A-Z Guide, saying “This hybrid of Habanita, Shalimar, and Vanilia attempts the ultimate amber oriental by combining features of past greats.” These are both colorful ways of saying that Stoned has something of an old lady vibe.
When I first smelled Stoned I was used to clean, sweet department store florals, and the old lady quality was way too much. Despite my initial horror, what saved that little decant of Stoned from being sent out in the next Makeupalley swap was a delicious, warm, rosy vanilla skin scent that emerged hours after I applied it. Baffled but intrigued, I put the vial back on my shelf and forgot about it.
Revisiting it now, the first application is still stuffy, all labdanum, treemoss, bergamot and heliotrope, like a large, old woman wearing ornate jewelry and a mink coat. Yet after 20 minutes or so, these notes become a luxe backdrop to the rose, jasmine, and sweet vanilla, giving the effect of keeping the ornate jewelry and mink coat but replacing the wearer with a Helmut Newton-style Amazonian model. Put a drink in her hand and you have the amazing bourbon vanilla skin scent drydown.
All in all, if I had an extra $285 to throw around, I could think of worse things to spend it on than a red crystal decanter of Stoned.

This is, for the first few seconds, a natural-smelling mix of herbs, flowers, and strong vanilla. Within a couple of minutes an indolic, animalic musk joins the party and skanks around, competing with powdery roses and super-sugary vanilla.
The musk (or whatever it is) reminds me of an open grey-water drain that I encountered once as a child. Not quite an open sewer, but it’s that sort of idea, for dishwater, bath water, everything except the excrement. If that greywater drain is the smell of the “diamond dust” that’s allegedly in the mix, I think I’ll pass.
Come on people. Diamond dust? You’ve got to be kidding. Since when does diamond dust have an odor? But that leads me to a theory. Maybe during diamond cutting and polishing, the tools are water-cooled, and there’s runoff with a tiny bit of diamond dust in it. Maybe this runoff was collected and dumped into the perfume. Maybe it did fester and develop foul odors while waiting to go into the perfume vat. In any case, after an hour or so all that’s left is a light rosy-powdery-vanilla scent reminiscent of baby powder or the scent that’s put in disposable baby diapers. OK, I’ll cross this one off my list. Just as well, since it’s ridiculously expensive.

Musky, yet spicy. Slightly powdery. Don’t get much citrus or sharp notes. Not as heavy as I anticipated, fragrance has a softness to it due to the bourbon vanilla. Nice, I like it. Really expensive!

I have ordered sample of this quite randomly and only read some reviews here and at the “luckyscent.com” after, but since most of them were quite critical, I didn’t expect much from this fragrance. Got it today and even thought I have some kind of cold or flu or whatever and a blocked/runny nose, I really wanted to test some of the new samples, so I have decided to try this one. And what a gorgeous surprise! Whether it’s because my nose has only limited capacity to smell right now or because the samples cannot be sprayed properly (instead one achieves only dainty smears with that tiny plastic “toothpick”), I certainly don’t get any burning, acidic, stingy sensation! I would not say that it’s heavy either. What I get is very pleasant spices (even though they are not listed here), posh and also expensive, and it is all quite rich, exquisite and delicious. Before I checked the price of this stuff, I was thinking: “to me, this is a very refined, interesting compossion…but not overly mature – in fact I think this could suit to people of various ages for various occasions…I can imagine that this is a very flexible fragrance that changes on each individual”… Myself – I could easily start feeling like a diva! 😀 Well…the price has shocked me though! LOL. So unless I desperately want to get rid of some money, I would not purchase this myself. 🙂

Spicy… this one gives a little buzz.
It’s a stingy little bite in your nose, that makes want to sneeze and squint. Quite stimulating. Later on it mellows out, and is creamy and dreamy. The vanilla is prominent. I wish it lasted longer and was a tad stronger.

This is an extremely heavy and smothering fragrance. I don’t feel that the notes are well-balanced at all. I could only slightly enjoy it after wearing it for FOUR HOURS!
That being said, for the first few hours, this literally burned my nose. I don’t know what, but something in this scent was very, very overpowering and dominated everything else. My guess would be the labdanum, or maybe just the mixture of labdanum with oakmoss. Underneath this, I could somewhat detect some vanilla and rose with a bit of jasmine. I waited, and restrained myself from scrubbing…
Shortly before bed I realized it wasn’t nearly as strong and, for lack of a better word, toxic! I sniffed my arm and could smell a lot of bourbon vanilla with some rose and a little bit of jasmine. Even though this was much more pleasant than before, I still wasn’t very impressed…the vanilla was too spicy and the rose wasn’t sweet enough for me.
I was hoping to like either Cosmic or Stoned, but I guess this company just isn’t for me…both of these fragrances need to be sampled first!

I just couldn’t hold back from commenting the bottle. Hehe, it’s just hideous, it makes me want to try this perfume. I think it’s called stoned because of gems (Diamonds, precious stones) but it looks more like someone has been smoking weed or went on a crazy acid trip and got flat-out stoned. Wild bottle!
