This perfume most certainly does smell just like a gardenia that has just bloomed! I don’t know how it wears on others, but on me it tends to get to it’s earthy dry down a little too fast. That would be my only complaint. It’s such a tease!! The dry down doesn’t smell bad, but I do wish the gorgeous opening could stay a bit longer.

Couldn’t agree with isabella more, THIS is what a real gardenia smells like! Many years ago on a May night on a Miami beach, DH and I were overwhelmed by the most gorgeous heady aroma we’d ever experienced. A night and scent we still talk about and I’ve looked for that fragrance in a bottle for decades! And finally found it in Starlet!!!
Should call it Miami May Night! May I never be without this incredible perfume.

smells EXACTLY like a gardenia. not like an oil trying to be a gardenia. no, it is a gardenia. gorgeous. dry down is a sweet skin smell, like it was rubbed with a gardenia and sun. i have scoured the earth for a perfect gardenia, untainted and soft, and here it is.
