Description
rom the end of the 19th century into the 20th, travellers continued to explore the North African shores and the near and Middle Eastern regions. Memories, immortalized today in paintings and literature, show views of the region through western eyes, and fragrances of the time captured this too. Exotic oriental elements found their way into numerous fragrances, just as Prince Murat was contemplating creating Le Galion. Launched in 1930 and celebrating its 85th anniversary Le Galion, is proud to present Sovereign, in tribute to its founder. A spicy oriental amber fragrance, it opens on spicy notes of Pink Berries and Black Pepper, developing a bouquet of Rose, Iris, Myrrh, in balance with Amber, Patchouli, and a a variety of woods like Oudh, Cedar and Guaiac.
Sovereign was launched in 2015. Sovereign was created by Amelie Bourgeois and Anne-Sophie Behaghel.

Tried it from a sample a few times. It has strong similarities with TT Laudano Nero, but less complex and without the cognac note. I like it a lot, it is a manly, statement-making fragrance for determined 30+ guys out there. Grab it if you can, the prices are good and esp if you can get a deal, it is well worth it. No strong synthetic notes, quality stuff, moderate to strong projection and long lasting. Makes me feel good and confident when I wear it.
I give it a well deserved 8/10. Good job ladies.
Edit 6.2016.
After having it and wearing it for some time, it quickly rose to one of my favourites. Very likable, a bit sweet oud, for some reason I see it as an M7 of this decade (being a sweet, masculine oud). Highest quality stuff, and it is on a more expensive side being a part of their pure parfum line (only 3 are like that in LG lineup), but well worth it.
I change my verdict to strong 9/10. Excellent job ladies.
Edit 5 2018.
I own a bottle and a backup one now. Can’t believe that still there is not much love for this exceptional fragrance. Reading at my comments from before, I cringe a little as now I see it as a fragrance that stands fully on its own, very creative, special and of top, top quality.
I often think that it would go into the category of those fragrances which I could wear as a signature, everyday, my whole life, and be happy, proud and feeling one with it.
I give it easy 10/10 now and urge all of you to give it a chance before this masterpiece (yes, the dreaded word) gets discontinued for the lack of affection it truly deserves.
