Without looking at the scent breakdown, I would never have guessed this composition has a banana note, I thought for sure tuberose and violet leaf. I do pick up on the slight tropical-spicy vibe, but nothing specific.
I really love this gorgeous scent. I get decent performance with soft projection. Perfect blind buy and I’m thinking of repurchasing as a gift for one of my perfume loving friends.
Edit: within 2 hours of wearing this I bought another bottle off Fragrencenet, $22. for 1.6 oz is an inexpensive way to make someone’s day. I adore Sira des Indes.

I really wished to find a banana dominant perfume and finally I found it here.it’s totally different with the banana I was dreaming about,I wanted a gourmand banana dessert,Sira is not that, still I love it and consider myself a lucky girl to own such a rare perfume.
while banana is the most noticeable note in Sira Des Indes,it’s not really sweet or a gourmand,I’d call it a smooth, creamy and sensual scent.fortunately I can’t pickup pink pepper, cardamom or plum.what I really smell here is an unripe, almost green banana,a natural one not smelling like a fake banana bubble gum,I also pickup milk,a bit of musk-vanilla powder and a lovely floral accord.I agree with others mentioning tuberose and ylangylang.it’s not a heavily floral scent but I can get a subtle, buttery scent of mentioned flowers and champacka which blend in so well with other milky, powdery notes
As time passes it develops to a warmer scent, the greenish banana of the opening ripens(but not to the point of smelling like brown, gone bad bananas)and sandalwood makes it even more creamy.I dislike it when sandalwood overpowers everything else in a perfume and it’s not the case here.all the notes melt in each other and none of them struggles with the others, the overall scent is a very pleasant one which may seem simple in a glance as it’s almost linear and so well blended so that it’s not easy to distinguish separate notes(except banana ofcourse!) but it’s unique and classy indeed
Longevity is great on me while sillage is soft to moderate.I wish it was stronger, acting more than a nice smelling body lotion on my skin and projecting more

My skin seems to agree with this scent – I’m not getting the crazy notes that the other reviewers are. On me, Sira Des Indes opens with banana peel and sunscreen, very beachy, then becomes a ylang ylang dominant scent, supported by milk, sandalwood, vanilla, musk and a hint of ripe banana. It’s a very elegant and soft scent, with low sillage. Many beach scents hit you with a tsunami of “YOU’RE AT THE BEACH”, but Sira des Indes is more of a soft-focus daydream of a beach day. I have trouble imagining this shy scent being offensive to anyone, so maybe I have sampled the quieter reformulation. I enjoy it, and definitely wish that more perfumers would experiment with banana notes. I actually wish the banana was louder here. There’s something a bit retro about Sira, but it’s not too dated. Poor sillage, poor longevity. Like.

First, I have to say that I love this. This is a sweet spicy floral; the banana and champaca combine and do not smell like distinct notes. They end up like tuberose and ylang, that fruity floral vibe. There’s also LOTS of pepper in here that causes a sneeze. A typical sweet Patou floral that I would say smells like ylang, tuberose, pepper forward, hint of bergamot, lots of sandalwood, hint of vanilla, musk, amber the the incense in the base

Sira is pretty, but quiet lady. I had it on my wish list for a while, and now that i have it, i find her so beautiful, but man, is she shy! I got 30 minutes of her attention before she was gone, and i want more!
Typical Patou style perfume, only this one i can actually wear, unlike Joy and the bunch, but i wish she lasted longer. She reminds me of Shalimar; not to confuse anyone, Sira does not smell anything close to Shalimar, but it has a similar vibe, which is why i like it.
I just received it today, i will give her a chance to settle from shipping and try again, maybe performance will improve.
    Pretty lady!

I liked the concept and the notes, however, I found that the cardamom was too strong for my taste. Solid offering though.

Really enjoying this! The banana (peel) gives it a slightly caribbean vibe for me, the champaca makes it feel elegant and the milk gourman and delicious. Not overpowering, just really enjoyable. Yum!

If I had to choose one word for this, it’d be “elegant”. Very tasteful and luxurious, in my opinion. It kind of pulls in many different directions, but to me, ends up feeling like a well-put-together woman. I like to wear this to work since I find it to be very agreeable. Slightly green, slightly powdery, very slightly gourmand, slightly woody. I love that this smells like the skin of a banana peel that hasn’t turned yellow yet.
Reminds me of an unripe banana milk tea with some cardamom (popular in Pakistan in tea) with buttery wood undercurrents and hints of vanilla. Overall, I couldn’t classify it as a gourmand, truly green, floral, or woody. It’s just elegant and well done. Great for cold weather but can’t wait to try in the heat!

Really happy I went blind for this one! The reviews are so mixed. For me, it’s an easy love! Goes on with very green banana, greener than D&G Sicily, and everything else is floral and spicy with a very perfume sharp edge. After some time though, the edge goes, the sandalwood amps up and the banana turns sweeter. Ahh. So pretty.

I bought this online because I was curious to try a perfume with a strong banana note. Well, I don’t smell banana at all. While it’s a nice scent, it doesn’t wow me.

Blind buy that I got based on notes/reviews (I was really intrigued by a banana perfume). I’m wearing two days in a row so I can get the full experience. This reminds me of another fragrance that I can’t quite put my finger on…. Actually, if Champs Elysees had a powdery banana-peach smoothie flanker this would be it. It probably smells a lot like the now discontinued Comptoir Sud Pacifique Bananae. It’s not bad. Is it me? I don’t know yet. It’s probably not “edgy” enough and too linear for that. Probably a nice late Spring/Summer scent. I could layer something earthy like oud oil and I’d probably like much better. It needs a little bit of smoke to make me swoon. Three and a half stars out of 5.

Love, love, LOVE this! It was a blind buy and I was not disappointed. This is a gorgeous, warm, sultry scent. It was the banana note that intrigued me, and the banana is definitely present but it’s not an artificial, sugary, milkshake banana at all, it’s lovely and creamy and adds a certain je ne sais quoi to the composition. I bought a slightly used parfum for a great price, but I’ve already ordered a big bottle of edp so I can spray with enthusiasm. This was my first experience with the house of Patou, and now I’m keen to try the others.

    Review #2:
I love this one so much that I just ordered a back up 2.5 EDP (thanks to a most generous, loving hubby).
    It’s THAT good.
Upgraded from “like” to “LOVE” the more I wear her. What a gorgeous and unique fragrance she is!!!
100% signature-scent worthy. In fact, I’m debating on replacing Jean Patou’s JOY because, at the moment, I think I’m wearing this more often. It’s an addictive, beautiful LOVE for me.
I want to note that this one (like Jean Patou’s Enjoy, engineered by the same nose) performs her best – on me – in warm-hot + humid conditions. That is when she really comes alive!!!

It’s only fair to disclose that I have a bias for Jean Patou fragrances as I’ve yet to own/wear any Jean Patou composition that I didn’t strongly-like or downright love. And, though Sira Des Indes is a “like” for me, it’s a very strong like indeed, and not merely “meh” (which, for me, are just a shade above ‘dislike’).
Yes, Sira des Indes tends toward a linear life (in my experience), but for me, not every fragrance that I own has to have three stages of life; I just expect a fragrance to be pretty, have some interest, project a bit and last for a while. Quite frankly, given Life’s occasional tendency toward chaos, sometimes a linear fragrance can help ground me and is one of the few knowable features of a day that might be stressful or unsure; it is the fortunate soul, indeed, who enjoys a balance between stability and adventure, but I digress. The linear nature is no detriment here, because this fragrance is beautiful from the first spritz.
Sira des Indes is uniquely tropical (the champaca and banana notes) which create in her a gorgeous, concurrently-spicy, creamy sweetness.
Wearing this pretty, safe but slightly tropical fragrance will not make you seem ‘intimidating’ or ‘overpowering’ to anyone; this fragrance says “approachable, sweet, pretty, intriguing, a bit exotic”. This is a message I happen to like sending in it’s appropriate time.
A good choice to wear to work, social events where you mix with people of all kinds, the mall with your girlfriends, church, a night out with the hubby, basically anywhere and any time of year (though she blooms best in the heat of summer, but this is just my opinion like the rest of this review, LOL)
    Scent: 9/10
    Sillage: 6/10
    Longevity: 8/10

I blind bought Sira des Indes because the notes sounded so intriguing. If you like the notes AND realize this smells like a perfume and not like an ultra sweet photorealistic banana milk shake gourmand, I would recommend you to try it, too. Not that a sweet banana shake gourmand would be a bad thing, Sira des Indes is just something totally different.
There is banana, but it starts with spices. In fact, cardamom is the most dominant note in the top and the heart to my nose. Champaca gives a powdery floral vibe, a bit old school. Overall this is drier than I would have thought, even though there is a milky and creamy vibe, too. Imagine an unsweetened banana milk dusted with cardamom, next to a piece of fragrant sandalwood and a vase of yellow flowers.
In the drydown the spicy and powdery notes slowly vanish. Now the scent is very creamy with sandalwood, milk and banana and a slight vanilla sweetness.
Sira des Indes is a unique, warm and exotic perfume. It’s not a loud scent, but it lasts all day, like a soft veil of fragrance around me. I am very happy with my blind buy.

This one arrived to me today. At first spray….typical…scent….I get no banana note to my nose….I guess everyones senses pick up different things….Overall, it is not a “bad” fragrance…but jus an “ok” one. The real beauty of this scent comes in the drydown….however…it does not last long enough for me to fully praise this scent…..”sigh”. A real skin scent in the end. But, a pleasant one.

Has a very lovely banana note. It’s very well done.. it’s very fruity in the opening, then it drys down to a nice soft powder. I happen to love Powder. I’m a sucker for a milk note as well. The milk note is not very substantial in this one, but it is detectable. This fragrance is feminine, and sensual. I’d say you could wear this scent year round easily. The longevity lacks a bit, and the sillage could be better. Those are the only things that could be better. While in/on my Facebook group today, even Victor Wong (zoologist) is a fan of this scent. To quote him, he really likes the hint of banana in this fragrance, and he likes this fragrance indeed! Siri des Indes is unique, fun, fresh, and should get more admiration than it does. It’s very nice. Xo

Imagine my surprise when I realized upon first sniff that I already own a very similar scent! This is very super close to Judith Lieber Topaz, which I consider to be a grown up oriental-tropical scent. This one is a bit creamier. Spicy, tropical, creamy, woodsy delight. That’s Sira in 5 words. The silage is not too heavy but that is a good thing. This could be overwhelming and cloying if it projected much more then it does. It wears beautifully in heat. It makes me feel very exotic and sexy. Highly recommended as a great summer buy for oriental/spicy fans.

I love this. I got a sample in a swap from a very generous (of course) fragrantican. At first I wasn’t sure but it crept up on me until I had to buy a bottle. it’s spicy to my nose and I do not get any of the sweetness as described by some, in fact on me, it’s certainly unisex. Spicy, woody, ever so slightly floral. No banana for me. Cardamom, pink pepper, musk, orange blossom and bergamot are the notes I can pick out. I don’t know what champaca smells like so can’t comment on that. This is not like anything else I have smelled and I would say it’s polarising – suitable for day and night.Sillage could be better but it does well in the heat, longevity on me is good 7 hours plus. love it or hate it but try it.

Delightful champaca and plum to my nose, an unusual and pretty composition, ideal for hot weather in fact the warmer the better. After a year in the cupboard it was a pleasure to bring this out. Like Bvlgari Coral it’s a good quality summer scent which lasts all day even in high humidity, a pleasant change from colognes and citrus. The banana is there, but it’s not a banana scent- just a lovely composition. I wasn’t sure when I got it, it’s quite different to my usual direction, but after 2 years of smelling other scents, my nose tells me, this is good. Recommended x

Now that I’ve had Sira Des Indes for several weeks, I can give a more detailed account. This is just on me, your mileage may vary.
I thought this was a swapper but it has become addicting. Literally nothing else in my wardrobe smells like this. SdI was unpleasant, at first, until I realized that application techniques make all the difference. I cannot just close spray this; it becomes cloying and musky to the point of nausea. Instead, I have to spray from a distance. Doing that allows the tropical banana and hints of green to peak through. The sandalwood and florals add cream and sweetness, and it dries down to a lovely, classical musky floral.
I wear this to work all the time, totally appropriate and never overpowering. This is now definitely a keeper.

blind buy, received yesterday. from the first try is very impressive. was so enjoying it. i cam smell very soft banana, but definitely not the strong chemical thing what somehow i expected. and this is a pleasant surprise. after few hours smell goes into very soft sweet nice skin scent. i cannot comment on silage as i do not feel anything. longevity… on me up to 4 hours. could be longer as this is really nice soft smell.

This is first impressions based on a blind buy of Sira Des Indes. It is also my first Patou fragrance.
The initial spray is alcohol, and it will take up to several minutes of being on skin to burn off and allow the top notes to shine through. I like this! I did the banana top note briefly but now it’s settled into a “typically French” smelling perfume. It starts tangy and fruity but quickly evolves into a powdery drydown that is remiscient of vintage perfumes. I think a reviewer below me said “vintage inspired” and that is spot on. This does not smell old-fashioned, or truly vintage, but it has that vibe. It smells of restraint and class.
The champaca and the powder are playing hide-and-seek with each other on my arm. It is not overly fruity. I would have actually liked the banana to linger a bit longer. I have the P&G version from 2016. Would have liked a little more spice in the bottom notes.
This reminds me so much of a perfume I used to have but I can’t think of it for the life of me! I find it a very mature take on fruity florals. Works for day wear and could easily be worn in a professional setting.
Also, not that this matters much to me with perfume since I store them in a dark closet, but I like the bottle! If I displayed my fragrances, this would be one I would have on my vanity.
I will update on longevity as I progress with wearing this. Right now, I give it 4 out of 5. I do not regret blind buying it.
EDIT: I *really* wish those top notes stuck around longer. Also, this does take on a much more serious tone on my skin the longer I wear it. I still like it very much, but I feel like this would be more appropriate for me as a special occasion perfume.
FINAL EDIT: Longevity is about 6 hours on my skin. It isn’t quite a skinscent but it doesn’t project much, either. This is a very unique perfume and it went through several changes. I cannot distinguish the final drydown individually, but it is a sweet and sour mix with a warm, musky, Sandalwood base. I’m not sure I will keep this as woody musks are not my favorite and it turns extremely musky on me. Sira des Indes needs warmth to smell its best. It smells so good once it blooms with the heat. A solid 4.3/5

This is fabulous. The classiness of Jean Patou with a wonderful, very sophisticated sweetness. This is mega ladylike, but not in a stiff way like so many other Jean Patou fragrances. A fragrance I still keep for special occasions, because it is not quite playful enough for me for everyday wear.

This is for Nostalgicagirl – I won a bottle of Comptoir Sud Pacifique Vanille Banane several years ago and never in a million years thought I would wear a banana fragrance, but it is fantastic – creamy and fun and smells of “real” bananas – not banana flavoured candies. If it’s bananas you’re after – this is the one. I don’t know it it’s available anymore – I have one last backup bottle as I can’t imagine living life without this happiness in a bottle. I’ve tried Sira, and while the banana is there – it’s tucked in somewhere and isn’t allowed to shine. If you’re going to wear a note that’s different and fun, then I think you really need to wear it out loud. Sira is too ladylike – a tiny banana tart served with high tea.

  26. :

I bought this as a blind purchase because of all the good reviews that I read about the lovely banana fragrance. I thought this would be more of a creamy tropical banana, but it isn’t. Doesnt smell anything like banana, I’m kind of disappointed, now I’m stuck with a bottle of perfume that I will probably never use. So I am still on the hunt for a creamy , fruity banana scented fragrance, something that reminds you of the the tropics, so anyone out there that can offer any suggestions, would really appreciate!!

I bought a brand-new bottle, and I have to warn you guys: a reformulation took place. My bottle smells awful, almost like sugar water combined with the scent of rotten milk. It fades so fast and is almost gone after maybe 30 minutes. This is nothing like the sample I got from a dear friend. Her sample smelled really ambery, creamy, and woody, nothing like this new version. So, beware the reformulation!

Super rich and creamy. Very unique, strong, and lasts well on me. Really love this one. The champaca is center stage, and has a sweet, quite unique scent. Can detect the milk, banana, and vanilla sweetening the flower even more. Not a sweet gourmand type scent though, really all about the champaca. I smelled it early on in my fragrance journey and liked it. Now that I’ve tried so many more perfumes, I really appreciate its unique beauty more, and have to get a bottle!

Purchased this fragrance strictly from Frangrantica’s description and reviews which were spot on, combined with confidence in other Jean Patou items. I very rarely invest over $20 in a scent w/out being able to sample. Love it and have received compliments. It’s very subtle and in fact – I can’t smell it on myself which is the only negative comment I have because I enjoy being able to catch a whiff of my perfume on me occasionally, throughout the day.

I have a 98% full bottle 2.5 oz up for trade. It’s a beautiful scent but does not mesh with my skin chemistry. I hate to see it go but I’d rather see it rehomed than sitting on my perfume shelf unused.

  31. :

The extrait is a soft pleasant white floral with tart, banana, pear and indolic nuances, supported by a bit of sweet white musk, all over a sandalwood base. It’s a thoughtful composition, the notes come together to form an abstract flower of white, peach and pale gold nuances that develops over time and has a lovely drydown that is both sweetly musky and powdery from the sandalwood. Well balanced and fun to wear in the heat.
I did think Amaranthine is a relative of this fragrance.
Definitely worth trying if you can get it at a good price, the extrait lasts a long time if layered over a neutral lotion. Office worthy.
The EDP is louder and has more tuberose and green paired with the fruit. Haven’t done a full wearing but I think I prefer the extrait for its complexity.

Sassy1,I am so sad that that you found this to be nothing like the ingredient description:(
I too bought Sira des Indes on a whim. The banana and champaca notes are those exotic elements that I love to have as prominent in perfume.
The ingredients never really did fully “bloom” on my skin. Patou is a house that I admire for their ongoing adherence to quality ingredients and thier bucking of trends in favor of maintainig tradition. I continued to sample, and patience finally paid off.
Recently, I got the sweet tropical beauty that I have been hoping for. And “not the chemical approximation of the real thing” scent that so many have taken for granted purchasing modern commercial fragrances (Chloe, some Givenchy,Escada, etc.)
How does Sira des Indes develop? On my skin:
The opening of Sira des Indes is at once sweet and tart . A true fruity floral, and no patch for goodness sakes!!
I smell tangy fruit punch. I can’t easily depict the fruits separately, Except may be an accent on a sugary and ripe banana. The rest smells like a whole punchbowl full of cherries, strawberry, orange, and some heady ripe tropical blooms. A seamless sandalwood grounds the whole thing, and does not poke through the composition.
Sira is the ultimate in fruity florals. It is so sweet, strong with a banana and sandalwood smoothie accent. The color and bottle label and glass just adds to the whole gorgeous package. It took several months, but finally I am very happy I bought it!

So…here I am again, blind buying stuff that has intriguing and wonderful sounding notes, only to be let down yet again.
1st spray, strong, back-of-the-throat-drying perfuminess (I get this most from French scents), which then turns into a much too dark for summer smoky incense powder. That same 1st spray cleared the room of husband, dog and cat with complaints of “Holy crap!! That stuff is obnoxious and burns my eyes!”
??? What the heck?? I want sweet! I want bananas! I want a slightly spicy banana and plum tropical creamy desert! Why am I stuck with a confused bottle of nothing as promised?
The only (and I mean ONLY) redeeming quality is that this jus fades just as quickly as it arrives. After 30 minutes or so it vanishes into thin air with only a nose to skin faint trace of dry powder left behind.
Sadly, much like other touted but misunderstood “beauties” like Casmir and Laguna, SDI leaves me loving the concept but unable to live with the end result.

She begins by taking center stage. All eyes are on Sira as her appearance is wild and crazy with what begins initially as a recognizable Patou, morphs into a gourmand banana lovers dream come true. She continues to blast you with fabulous ripened bananas then like an unfortunate actress she vanishes into thin air. What is left is a faint trace of where she once stood.
A fader darn it! This one had tremendous potential. I love the fragrance but noticed immediately that it faded and the longevity is quite poor. A great idea though and the bottle is lovely.

    Yaaaasssssssssssssssssssssssssssss……
    This…this…is…awesome.
I normally do not like fruity florals. I prefer Orientals and chypres–especially those that are heavy on the incense, smoky/balsamic notes, and classic resinous bases.
This is one of the rare fruity florals that I truly enjoy— Candied, tart but juicy fruits, on a rich creamy and musky wood base. The vanilla comes through and holds everything up in this lavish way that keeps every element in just the right measured tone. Despite the inclusion of sugar, vanilla, and fruit, this is not a young girl’s fruity floral. This is a very elegant adult take on the fruity floral obsession of modern perfumery.
The sillage is impressive and the longevity is just right. I spritzed the smallest drop on my wrist and I’m getting luscious waft after waft of sugary joy.
Prada Candy wishes that it smelled this good. In fact, this is the frag that Prada Candy should have been. People really slept on this one. I will be snapping up several back up bottles. I cannot run out of this fragrance.
Oh…and this was a blind buy.

If you can battle through a headache inducing mish-mash of a sweetened champaca, pear and sandalwood assault on the senses for the first few hours you will be rewarded with a beautiful creamy vanilla-banana-cardamom scent that is inviting and quite intoxicating. Perhaps one to put on just before bed, so that you can spend those first few noxious hours asleep and unconscious and avoid any impulse you may have to scrub it off. Beautiful in the end.

One thing to start with: I don’t get the banana.
Due to that banana, I’ve been wanting to test this one badly, even considered blind order, but thanks to Nexangelus, my curiosity is satisfied: no banana I’ve been looking forward to. Other than that, it is a very pleasant fragrance. A creamy, white floral. I’d say it’s gardenia loaded. -Apparently not, but still, it instantly reminded me of Tocca Florence. As a matter of fact, I’m doing a comparative test on both on my wrists, as I type. These two pretty sisters are very much resembling one another, while Tocca is a bit more intense and intoxicating due to a well behaved tuberouse, and Sira is a bit more tamed, softer in a cosmetic way and skin closer.
Both are nicely rounded and creamy.

I am fortunate enough to have a champaca tree (which I planted as a seedling). It bloomed for the first time last year and the intoxicating scent of its blossoms filled the air for just a few days. So the hunt began for a champaca based fragrance.
Sira de Indes seemed an obvious choice… I was expecting, from the notes, a chai-champ-anana blend. But despite buying a bottle from a retailer, I managed to get a 9 and a half year old bottle (according to the batch code it was made in the spring of 2006). I can safely say that while a fresher batch may or may not bring forth many wonders, this bottle did NOT. It started out as over-ripe synthetic banana.. and worked its way to more over-ripe synthetic banana mixed with baby vomit. I don’t really like baby vomit. There, I said it: it’s an awful scent.
I smell no champaca. I smell no spices. I smell no sandalwood or musk (either that or the musk was suffocated by a rogue banana).
Back it went… I’m not sure I will try again. But, be careful with the dates… and if you have a newer bottle, don’t wait for it to age gracefully… it may not…

  42. :

This is stunning. Although a laundry list of fruits seem to be in it, it’s unlike any other fruity perfume I’ve ever tried.
It opens on me as a spicy banana. A creamy, slightly overripe banana and a big bright flourish of pepper. The pear is discernible, but very softly.
Then the champaca opens and it becomes a spicy floral. It’s heady, very heady, but it’s also such a soft, subtle perfume that it never overwhelms. This sits very close to the skin.
The final dry down offers some woods, mostly sandalwood and a little tickle of musk.
I’ve never been to India, but I’ve imagined myself there through some of my favourite books. I imagine A Suitable Boy would smell like this if it had to be described in a scent. It’s a warm, slightly muggy night, taking a romantic – possibly forbidden – stroll through the fruit trees and night blooming flowers.
It’s a perfume of contradictions. Everything about it seems like it should be loud. It lends itself to being a bold scent that demands attention. But instead, it’s soft and gentle, even a little shy. It makes it fascinating.

This is divine! I love orientals, and blind bought this as I’m a fan of Patou scents, and I was curious about the notes listed.
As a rule, my skin devours fruits, and this holds true for Sira des Indes. The champaca is front and center for me, along with orange blossom, heady, almost abrupt, intoxicating. Bergamot, Cardamom, sandalwood and the rose scent of pink pepper are also forward in this scent. Although it isn’t listed, I definitely smell cedar, as well.
The dry down retains the citrus notes, albeit more softly, and adds vanilla to the woods. There’s something a little resinous in here too. Still no fruits, but I’m okay with that 🙂
SdI leaves a nice scent trail, although it doesn’t feel like it has much sillage. I’ve gotten a lot of comments and compliments.
This is a little heady for day wear but applied lightly, could work. I will use it for special evenings, and to cheer myself up during the winter blahs. Gorgeous, gorgeous scent. I want to compare it to being wrapped in a silk pashmina, but it’s so much more than that. This scent combines comforting warmth with sparkling florals, and seductive spices. Yowza! I’m in love!
EDIT: Sometimes the champaca, banana, orange blossom, cream, and vanilla combine into a weirdly gourmand dreamsicle note. I’ve found that adding just the lightest touch of linden blossom essential oil prevents that particular accord from forming, souring the blend back down into the fruit/floral range. Just FYI.

I love Sira Des Indes! The first spray surprised me as it wasn’t what I was expecting.
On me, the opening is definitely banana but combined with the pear it has a fizzy, almost sherbet-like quality, the fruit is a little mushy with a hint of something green. At the same time the opening has warmth, coming from the spice and sweetness too, an unusual but lovely contrast! After a little while a milky creaminess is there with sandalwood and sweet vanilla on me, the fruit is there but milder.
I love it because it is a bit of everything really, a little bit tropical, spicy and warm, creamy and fizzy, and a bit prim and proper, it never gets dirty or sexy. The longevity and sillage is moderate.
The mushy fruity opening might be problematic for some and I can see why it’s not for everyone but I’m in love!
Also it is similar in ways to Amaranthine but that is much greener, less sweet and more floral, I prefer Sira.

I get a lot of pink pepper and cardamom in the beginning. No pear or even banana, but a spicy, warm trip to some exotic local. Then a beautiful dose of sandalwood and… champaca? I wouldn’t know. Some of these notes are so unique. In fact, I wonder if I wouldn’t recognize the banana in this if I slipped on its peel.
Regardless, Sira des Indes is creamy and cozy and soft as a fleece blanket in fall. During the drydown it becomes just a tad animalic, but nothing risque. It sweetens over time as the amber and vanilla make their way to the front. An incredibly well-balanced concoction, and usually available at a great price. I’m tempted.
