What-A-Fantastic smell, quite cheap but it doesn’t smell cheap. I don’t mind having to reapply because of the scent and price. Some say it’s similar to other fragrances, but to me it excels in that group. It should be in a collection.

I see the similarities with L’Eau d’Issey Pour Homme on the opening but the dry down is better with the Issey Miyake which is really way better. I like the grape fruit opening of Altitude (lasting about 20-30 mins) compared to the yuzu opening of Issey .On Altitude longevity, sillage & uniqueness is very very poor. 2 hours then its a skin scent. I dont like the woody accent. It is a low cost everyday scent, there too many similar fragrances. I should have added more money to get something better. Its a good scent but it is not unique to make it a signature. Although I love the original Silver Shadow, this one will be seldom used.

Silver shadow altitude is completely different from the original. This is a flanker which goes in a completely different direction. This opens up with a blast of grapefruit and juniper berries and dries down into a gorgeous cardamom and musky base. It is a safe scent and it won’t offend anyone. This is my go-to office scent and it does the job really well.

Although I have never smelled it, I’ve heard nothing particularly good about the original Silver Shadow, but this is surprisingly good for it’s price. Strong, decent longevity, a distinctly fruity yet fresh set of notes that dries down into a very pleasant sweet & smoky base with a little of the fruityness left on your clothes the next day. On a side note, the shower gel version of this is without doubt the best smelling shower gel I’ve ever experienced.

Silver Shadow Altitude is a well made fragrance that is quite restrained and stays close to the wearer but is certainly noticeable.
The scent is refreshing, and, in my opinion, hard to dislike. It’s subtle but inviting, a really good choice for warm weather especially an office environment.
Altitude is one of my favorites from this house and is fantastic value for money, I got a large 125ml bottle for £16.50 (around $24 for our friends across the Atlantic), I’m buying an extra bottle for reserve just in case.

To start off I must say, even though this bares similiarites to a few different frags I own its still very unique in its own right. And thats very much unexpected from the house of Davidoff
It starts off very sharp,citrusy, very peppery with some fruits in the background. The opening is nice in a way but honestly when I 1st smelled this it was WAY to sharp for my liking but fortunatly ive smelled enough colognes to know you cant judge a scent by the opening.
In the mid it smells pretty much the same but the sharpness subsides a little as well as the pepper. Its still sharp but it does smooth out a bit.
The drydown is the redeeming quality in this fragrance ! This is where it resembles Mont Blanc Starwalker (which is 1 of my favorites) as its citrusy and woody, with some light pepper lingering in the background. This fragrance however is more aromatic and resembles an aquatic more, whereas Starwalker is a lot more woody.
Performance on this is really nice for this type of scent. It lasts on me 6-10 sometimes 10-12 hours and projects nicely for about 3 hours.
All in all id rate this a 6.5 out of 10 !

Opening – natural grapefruit, strong but subtle pepper and fruity berries. Citrusy , airy and spicy, but deffinetly not aggressive top notes.
Mid notes – still spicy, but more subtle, with nice touch of cedar.
Base – warm, elegant woods with touch of smokiness (musk + incense). Usually i don’t like synthetic smell of cashmere wood. But here, it smells natural and subtle, without chemical powderness.

I’ve had a miniature of this for a few years now. Never really been moved by this, or enough so to wear all day.
Just applied to test once again and now more than before am analyzing it.
Upon application it smells nice and classy but minutes later turns sorta fruity, minutes later it turns airy and sorta smells like a window cleaner, here in the states the best known brand is WINDEX window cleaner
Then it stays close to the skin, I’m tempted to to apply more .
Almost evaporates to nothing.
Barely makes my “like” category, good if your expectations are not set high.

I had a 50ml bottle that I bought cheap in the UK. I really like the classic Silver Shadow and wear it is much as I can, so I decided to buy this flanker. BIG mistake…
So what do I get out of this fragrance?
Tho only notes I get is synthetic ginger and white peppercorns and some synthetic citrus. when applied I only got the strong almost nauseating ginger note and that was it. Fortunately the longevity was very poor 30 min. to 1 hour tops. So I could wear something else. Huge disappointment.

I find this much more interesting than Versace pour Homme and Acqua di Gio.
Don’t need any of those in my fragrance drawer when I have this one.
Love to wear this in winter time, picks me up, reminding me that this long and cold season most probably will end some day.
One spray don’t do much, but two on the neck and one on the body makes this one last surprisingly long. The sillage suits me just fine, it softly says “hello, I shure am fresh” without any shouting.
My blind-buy was partly based on the nice looking bottle, partly on my former experiences with Davidoff, but mostly on the reviews on this page(cheers guys!)

I applied 6 heavy sprays
0 – 1.75 hours – 1.25 foot projection. This frag starts strong which for a fresh frag, is good; it has the typical hallmarks of a fresh frag, with a clean vibe yet somehow is quite unique, some citrus to begin with – I have not tried the original silver shadow to compare. It stands up as an office frag, a masculine, quite sexy frag for a sharp suit, clean cut and ambitious. There are no clear notes for me, which actually is a benefit, as its uniqueness is what stands out..
1.75 hours – 3 hours – 7 inch projection. Some soapiness comes in
3 hours – 5 hours – 4 inch projection.
5 hours – 6hours – 1.5 inch projection
6 – 8 – close to skin
This frag is approx £10 for a 30ML bottle online, and it is well worthy of purchasing at leas once, to enjoy that different slant on freshness

Very nice zingy opening, I get a lot of green pepper and juniper berries, and I also detect the cedar and caraway which is great, then a more musky, woody drydown.
It is very nice indeed but like so many fragrances in this category the projection last long enough for my liking. After 2 or 3 hours it’s just a skin scent on me, although to be fair, I get 6 or 7 hours on the skin.
So, it is really good, and a nice pick-me-up for daytime use but don’t expect it to project all day. Get a cheapo bottle if you can then you won’t feel short-changed.

Funny thing happened as I wore this scent as a reference when testing other summer or fresh aquatics. After many trials with other fragrances of the type, I concluded that Davidoff Silver Shadow Altitude is indeed the clear leader in this genre. Why on earth did I go through so many others before it finally dawns on me that none of the others offer the complexity or dynamic nature of Altitude. To me this a much better evolved Hugo Boss Elements Aqua. Smoother and more sensual than Aqua. Better blend and less harsh than the Hugo Boss. Altitude imbues the wearer with a sense of confidence and calmness. Great value and quality at this price range.

One of the best from Davidoff, and probably the best from the Silver shadow line, no one knows why it is even named after that line, it has nothing to do with the rest.
The original had better longevity, the formulated version isn’t the same but still fine, Opens with a fruity citrus notes, followed in an hour by herbal fruity oceanic notes,then musk, to be honest I’ve never smelled the incence or woody notes in the base.
If you smelled Acqua Essinziale and liked it, then you better look for this because the other is just a copy of it, while this is actually almost half the price.

یه چیزی هم کشف کردم ! این که شامه ی آدم هم مثل حواس دیگه اش نیاز به پرورش داره ، یعنی تربیت میشه ! این تو حیوانات هم هست ، مثلاً سگای پلیسی که مواد مخدر پیدا میکنن برای این کار تربیت شدن ؛ انقدر موادو قایم کردن و اونا پیدا کردن که اون بو براشون آشنا هستش و زود پیداش میکنن ! البته که در مثل مناقشه نیست و فقط برای بیان بهتر منظورم عرض کردم . شامه ی آدمیزاد هم گویا نیاز به زمان داره تا یه بویی رو پیدا کنه و باهاش آشنا بشه . الان میبینم که این ادکلن حدود یک روز رو پیرهنم میمونه ، البته دیگه بعد از سه چهار ساعت پخش بویی نداره ولی مثل اون اوایلم نیست که فکر می کردم . خلاصه بوی اونو خیلی دوست دارم و تو همین مدت کم دو سه بار دربارش ازم پرسیدن و ازش تعریف کردن . یکی دو باری هم وقتی خودم اصلاً بوشو حس نمیکردم ازش تعریف شنیدم . خیلی خوبه و خسته کننده نیست ؛ وقتی میزنمش و بوش بهم میخوره مزه ی مرکبات تازه و ملس میاد تو دهنم . بوی گریپ فروتش کشته منو ، جوریه که واقعاً مرغوب و طبیعیه و حس خوبی بهم میده . ء

A good, fresh smelling, peppery citrus aromatic with a nice aquatic vibe. reminds me here and there of Dsquared Ocean Wet wood and L’eau d’issey with some of the notes. Nothing in Silver Shadow Altitude is revolutionary or ground breaking. Most Fragrantica old hands would probably have smelled half a dozen other frags with the same notes and smell but what it does, it does pretty well. Good projection for the first hour or so, and decent longevity of about 5 hours. good value for money and works great as a daily use perfume for warm weather. This would make an ideal starter perfume for somebody just getting into fragrances as there is nothing here anybody would dislike. A good safe choice for a gift as well. I like it and find myself reaching for it more and more as the weather turns warmer.

Edit- I find that Altitude gets a little boring for me after a few days of continuous wearing. Mind you, it is a good runabout daily use frag for summer but that is it’s limitation as well. I find that it’s just lacking that something extra that makes it a decent frag but not a great one.

Based on the reviews, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on a bottle of Altitude as I, being a newbie, was expecting nothing less than the tears of God in a bottle.
Well, I really like the scent but after a brief moment of sheer happiness came the big disappointment. This simply vanishes into thin air way too soon.
Too bad, I had high hopes and expected quite a decent longevity.
It’s such a shame.
But it does smell great. It really does.

I never owned a Davidoff fragrance, I guess because I associate the name since I was a kid with the eternal Cool Water, so in my mind this was a “not something new” scent.
Well, finally, and I frankly don’t know why, I decided to buy Silver Shadow Altitude.
The first blast brought memories from perfumes that I had in the very early 90’s, like YSL Jazz.
Is masculine and yet fresh and light, an “optimistic” scent. The grapefruit reminds me also of the Issey Miyaki summer flankers, but Silver Shadow Altitude is not as harsh and over synthetic.
After trying a lot, I noticed that juniper berry, cedar and oakmoss blend beautifully with my skin chemistry. And this is not exception. Not only that I like this fragrance, people like it too. No need to spray like crazy, less is more in this case, like a little surprise when you walk by, making people say : Oh, you smell so good!

I’m a lawyer and I usually put this on when I go to court. Somehow, the scent fills me with an understated sense of strength and confidence.
I initially thought that it wasn’t that long lasting, as I could no longer smell it on myself after 3 to 4 hours. However, recently an acquaintance of mine noted that he could still smell my perfume strongly 4 hours after I had put it on.
As for the fragrance itself, it starts of rather sweet without being overpoweringly so. It then evolves into a woody scent – calm, subtle, classy.
As a footnote, my dad who does not really like perfumes all that much, really likes this scent, so much so that I am thinking of getting a bottle for him for Christmas or his birthday.
Definitely recommended.

just an amazing scent. have had it for a while now, and on my skin not a lot of fragrances last, and sadly neither does this one. it is truly a refreshing blast at first with those juniper berries and nothing like i have ever smelled before. dare i say it can pass as unisex. i would deff call it my # one summer fragrance if it had longevity, and its manly enough to get you compliments but also if i girl wore it i would think she smells good too. with the initial blast of juniper berries a few minutes later you can smell some citrus, ( not too much to call it citrusy fragrance thank God ) and some cardamom and wow do these 3 make one sexy smelling fragrance. i can deffinitely imagine a pilot of a big comercial airliner smelling like this while i am enetering a cabin and boarding a plane, if all pilots smelled like this less people would be scared of flying i think. if davidoff could do anything about the longevity of this gem it would be one of the best summer fragrances of all time, i am glad i bought it even tho it doesent last much on me it is still relaxing when i spray it and it reminds me of summer, its not too much money either i recomend trying it because who knows on your skin it may last a long time.

What an absolute gem! I remember trying silver shadow and liking it so when I saw this going cheap I snapped it up blind…and I love it. Freshness and spice with the juniper and delicate celery note its the juice that keeps giving.
This is easily among the best Davidoff scents and the bottle is really attractive too similar shaped reservoir to D&G The One. Also, the stopper has a satisfyingly quality feel when you click it down.

The celery, cardamom and juniper berries lift (and add shine and stamina to) the grapefruit (NOT red grapefruit which I find more tiresome) that in this fragrance combination seems to outshine any standard lemon or bergamot note. The pepper remains a distinct and welcome partner throughout. I love how there is a constant and prolonged evocation of the idea of citrus – to me, very individual. Discreet musk and cashmere wood after 10 hours. Made for my skin! Silver shadow Altitude is a cool name for a good looking bottle. This spicy quasi aquatic is much more refined from it’s Coolwater cousins, but nothing really stands out. It’s nice, safe, evokes maturity and lasts for quite a while but it seemed so boring that when I bought it I hardly ever used it. Perhaps the celery or pepper note puts me off or just isn’t my type. A decent scent for casual use, but I wont be going out of my way to grab another bottle.

I own the original silver shadow and I am thrilled with the experience and my wife loves it whenever I wear it which is generally to work and of course this fragrance goes extremely well on casual time as well.

This fragrance is so amazing and unique and it totally fits the pilot-style it represents!
First, the take off: an explosion of spicy pepper, sweet berries and bitter grapefruit – it pushes you back into the seat, in your stomach a slight rumble, filling you with the joy of anticipation and giving you ideas of the adventures you are about to experience. Also, there is this cool, metallic touch that reminds you of the sparkling and strong machine that is carrying you. (It stays for the whole duration and sometimes slightly reminds me of Azzaro – Chrome)
Then, the climb: exotic spices and this incredibly warm scent of cedarwood let you slowly calm down, tightening the images of your imminent explorations and letting you feel comfy and successful.
After a while, you reach the peak and enter the spheres above the clouds: A slight, white and clean breeze lets you stay fresh, like smooth shreds of clouds faning your head, woody and musky notes underline your comfy and safe position and give you a feeling for the eternity outside your window, while they remember you of your roots at the same time, together with the metallic shine of the plane you are on.
This perfume is one of my absolute favourite scents: I love the perfectly balanced composition and the emotions it awakes in me: it lasts almost 10 hours on my skin and even longer on my clothes and I think, it has one of the best fitting commercials and names ever!

One of the better woody fragrances in my collection; very much an “every day” fragrance, I wear this to work a lot. This opens brightly with lots of spicy, peppery notes and dries down to a smooth woody peppery scent with a dose of cardomom pushing through which makes this a bit different to most others. Longevity is good; this seems to last most of the day on my skin. Sillage isn’t too spectacular but overall this is the complete package. Nothing at all like the original Silver Shadow which screams “old man” to me; I suspect this would work well for anyone who likes a masculine, woody fragrance.

Oh My Lord what is this??? Loud, cheap, cheap, loud and even cheaper and louder. I found a 100ML bottle at 10$ but I had no guts to buy it. I dont’ know what about sillage and lasting power as I quitted just right after touching the bottle.

I first smelled this in my friend’s bathroom. It was his dad’s. Since then, everytime I went for a piss in his bathroom I kept smelling it, and I knew I had to have it.
The scent is very well balanced. The top is great, bitterness from the grapefruit and a bit of sweetness- the juniper berry note. Middle and base are musky, stingy, with remnants of the top notes. 9/10
The sillage is AMAZING. While I was doing my rehearsals in this huge theathre hall, everybody kept telling me I smell very nice-which I don’t get with the other frags I own. 9.5/10
Longevity isn’t very good. I get about 4-6 hours on my skin, and then it starts to slowly fade away. And you can barely feel it on your clothes the next day. 7/10
It can be used on almost every occasion, it’s a clean, spicy, fruity daytime scent. And for the price it’s sold for, it’s an absolute bargain. BUY IT!!

It’s my current number 1 fragrance. Love it 😛 Fresh, Sexy, Long Lasting, NEVER tired of this scient. Im 21 and i think that this fragrance is perfect for 20+ :p

Very fresh and clean! Similar to other Cool water editions. This is easy to wear, but that’s why it’s nothing special!
And longevity is weak like always, like all the Davidoff perfumes!

Imagine this, a diluted version of original Silver Shadow mixed with the Cool Water scent! And there you have Silver Shadow Altitude! It has the opening of Silver Shadow but dry down is very similar to Cool Water! A lack of creativity but not bad for casual wearing.

From the first day that I smelled this perfume, I can’t find other that satisfied for me better than this one.
Smell is very fresh. You can feel that you stand in forest with fresh air and wind to make you relax and feel comfortable.
I really feel that i have vacation in forest after smell this.
For honestly, I try more than 20 in popular smell. But I can’t find anyone better than this.
Even I love it so much, but the smell doesn’t long enough. It’s about 3 hours.
But that doesn’t make any trouble just spray it again 😛
I recommend you this fresh one.

I don´t like Davidoff very much. Well, this is what I thought. But I shouldn´t judge a whole brand, because I definetely like Silvershadow Altitude! Even better than some of the other very popular aquatics for men out there, because it doesn´t smell synthetic and the fresh notes together with the spiciness and the cardamom are very well composed. Great lasting power also. I really recommend to try this one, if you are searching for a fresh everyday fragrance.

Altitude is very easy to wear. Nice spicy aquatic that’s slightly sweet and not at all synthetic. It really has nothing to do with the original Davidoff Silver Shadow, which is good. Longevity? Lasts for at least 8 to 10 hours on my skin.
Highly recommended! Definitely worth the money… 😀

I am editing my previews note. A peppery smell is proeminent for 2 hours or so. Zegna Z has some pepper in the composition too, a little less than Altitude (at least less persistent) and, in my opinion, a little more pleasant “:-)! But Z may looks like more generic for some.

It may be a woody fragrance but i feel more citrus than wood, making it more fresh than i expected. Still.. a very good fragrance. I bought it for my son & he rly loved it :).
PS. don’t compare this with the original. This has a modern, almost teen scent and the first Silver Shadow has a clasic scent for a mature man.

U have here a very cool scent.
It doesn’t have a very complex drydown cause its changes are very subtle.
It starts with a cool scent of grapefruit: light, aromatic, fresh. At the end it becomes more woody, but with no major diference, still keeping a light & almost fresh scent. Lasting power is also good.
This fragrance is for everyday use as it doesn’t impose, being very subtle, soft, delicate.
