I’m sort of in the middle on this one. It smells like purple candy, sweet but pleasant, not cloying, with dark berry and cotton candy. It’s pretty nice. I like the smell, but I don’t know that I want to smell like it.

The opening of the perfume is truly lovely. The violet leaf and the beautiful iris floral lend a hint of lipstick and powder smell with a sweet fruity background that makes it smell youthfully modern and bright (as opposed to dusky and old fashioned).
Of course the iris can’t last forever and the sweet, syrupy, fruity black currant musk gets rather loud. Cotton candy sweet (though not the sweetest), synthetic, the kind of screechy vibration in mall perfumes aimed at teenagers as it seems to intensify on the skin. It also has a Woody, loamy undertone to it as well from the patchouli which makes it a little more tolerable and is pleasant. With iris still present it smells root-y in loam. Through it all, somehow the perfume manages to anyways smell fresh and bright.
It’s not a bad perfume by any means! It manages to follow everything that’s trendy in fragrance these days. It reminds me of Chance by Chanel with its youthful vigor. Towards the dry down, l experimented layering with No. 19 Poudré to tame the “screech”. It worked! Now there’s a sweet and sour smell. I love sour candies. Now that’s a gourmand taste I can sink my teeth into

Very sweet but nice. I get most Black Currant, Mimosa and Violet Leafs on my skin – with a good punch of a sweet note -not sure from where. A great every-day-scent if you’re into sweet/syrupesweet scents.

A bit too saccharine sweet for me, but I could definitely see a classy lady who loves iris and violet wearing this. It’s good for someone who likes floral perfumes because it smells much more natural than many commercial floral ones.
I think it’s the powdery notes and violet leaf that really ruins this for me. Violet is just like candy of flowers in the perfume world and I just can’t get on board.

A delightful surprise. I’ve had bruising clashes with iris frags before: (even some very expensive and high-class ones like Goodsir Iris Cendre all too often smell like a wet rug when applied to my skin, and cheaper ones like Miller Harris Terre d’Iris either smell like mud or like nothing at all) and I’ve often slated Atelier as a house, for making beautiful but frustratingly shortlived and overpriced scents. This one made me eat those words. It’s just beautiful, and for me (usually a hater of both fruit and florals) to say that, it means this is really something special.
There’s just enough of the smell of earth & roots to make it ‘real iris’ not fake flowers, but without being muddy, and there’s also just enough fruit to sweeten and boost it past the garden gate. Serene and classy and very feminine, to my nose, though it’s good and classic enough to be a unisex for the true iris fans.
Surprisingly big sillage – especially for Atelier – and yes, there are moments when the fruitiness (or the grape + mimosa if you must) is just on the verge of being too sweet and too much. But somehow it swerves all the real problems and carries on being its beautiful classy self. Overall longevity is still not incredible, but light years ahead of others I’ve tried from the house.
It’s so good to have negative preconceptions shattered! Do give this one a go if you’re hunting for a light-yet-not-weak, organic-seeming iris.

Opens up with a retro lipstick iris, which later transforms into velvety butteriness with an undertone of sour fruit.

Fruity notes with a lot of ionona trying to imitate orris butter. This could be more natural, this could be better.

One of my best blind-buys ever, ONLY because I found an amazing deal online.
This gorgeous fragrance, to me, is exactly like Lipstick On + a ripe, tart, juicy black currant with the violet leaf adding just the barest hint of ‘green’, like an iris in a budvase inside a florist’s fridge.
Atelier Silver Iris is absolutely beautiful!!! I wish that I had a better vocabulary right now.
Fragrance: 10+/10. Intensely, insanely beautiful for iris-lovers and lovers of ‘lipstick’ and ‘vintage cosmetics’-type scents.
    Performance:
    Longevity: 10/10 8+ hours.
Sillage: soft to about 6ft depending upon how much you apply.
Edited to add: The bottle itself is just GORGEOUS. It’s glass that’s painted/ coated with a chrome-like, brilliant silver color that makes the bottle look as though it were made of metal, until you handle it and can feel that it is, in fact, glass. I didn’t buy it for for the bottle, but it certainly is beautiful.
She has been shared to someone who very, very much deserves her.

I actually don’t get any of the fruity notes. To me, this is a rooty orris, with carrotty, cold and metallic qualities. From the first spray, there’s a white, diffusive and clean musk that reminds me somewhat of the nose-filling musks from dryer sheets. It’s certainly a dry scent, and unsweetened. The most I get of the currant notes are a slight tang behind all of the foggy iris.

  10. :

Silver Iris is just so dry it leaves me parched. The blackcurrant is stunning, but catches in my throat like the unsweetened Austrian blackcurrant juice I used to attempt to drink as a kid. The iris is starchy and paper dry. It gives my sinuses a thousand paper cuts. And there’s a sawdust note in there that borders on masculine. It’s certainly unlike anything else I’ve smelled, and it’s a beautiful concept, but ultimately it’s too dry to be enjoyable for me.

I get great longevity out of this and the scent is pretty good but I feel this leans more towards the feminine side though I think if the right person (male) gets a hold of this they could pull it off and get some compliments. Unfortunately for me it was just not right on my skin, I will use the rest of the sample I have this fall and that’ll be all she wrote for this fragrance.

I like to smell this fragrance on paper as it reminds me of visiting my grandmother’s house when I was little. It does not work as a frangrance to wear for this reason.

Atelier Cologne’s ‘Silver Iris’ is mouth-wateringly good. But I fell out of love with it the day I decided that the initial blast smelt like the insides of my school pencil case. I can smell the shiny red lacquer of my wooden lead pencils amongst some fruity novelty erasers.

Goes on a sweet, green iris; dries down a bit drier with a hint of fruit. This would be a love for me if not for the fruit.

It was the love from the first sight… Sweet, powdery, also has something gourmand. I got sample and just a little bit is quite enough. Develops beutiful in warmer weather.

I received this as a sample in a subscription makeup sampler box and immediately fell in love with it. I could smell it all day for the rest of my life. Dismay ensued when I saw the price as it is sorely out of my budget. So I keep buying the tiny sample bottles from ebay so I can wear it on super duper special occasions. I’m new at this, so I am not versed on the technical terms, but to me, this has a dreamy, soft, sweet scent that vaguely reminds me of a tart candy. I absolutely love this fragrance.

Like LovesProvence below, I too had two distinct impressions: Rooty Iris for all of a second, and a strong Prada Candy vibe. I found this disconcerting the first time I wore it, then again, the second time, more prepared, it was still disconcerting, but interesting. Now I like it. Many of the reviews out in blogville note that this is a “beginner’s Iris” and I concur. The citrus is almost nonexistent which is good because that’s really a bit too much all at once.
I am not an Iris lover. The rooty dirt and carrots quality is not a favorite of mine with Iris, specifically, though I like the spring-like atmosphere and fresh quality that Iris inspires. I’m also not a fan of sweets in my perfume. This has both accords in it. But somehow, it works. It is not sexy, but it does have a caramel warmth to it from the black currant accord (also, one of my positively most loathed notes) that is braced by the cooler Iris and Violet leaf (lending it a curious lipstick powder and dirt quality). All of this may not sound exactly enticing, but every time I wave my arm or move I get these little breezes of violet, iris, and currant and it’s lovely (a bit more feminine than strictly unisex).
I’m on the fence about a FB after going broke on some of the other Ateliers, but this one which I was assiduously avoiding is moving to the top. Because of the very note I cannot stand (berries!) I actually like this Iris more. Try before you buy! *Also, you may get a better deal if you call the Atelier boutique in Br**klyn–if you like several of their scents, that’s the way to go, rather than online or in Seph***.

I had two distinct impressions with this scent: First: retirement home; second: an old tabletop pepper shaker full of flavor-faded pepper dust. Its longevity was unfortunately long-lasting for a scent that made me feel several decades older.

Nice fragrance! Totally wowed by Silver Iris, more stunned by this brand!!
After receiving a sample, I fell in love with Silver Iris and the fresh Violet aromatic scent this puts out. I get the sharp feel along with the florals, yet the base is really pronounced here; the Patchouli, Tonka bean and White amber really come through along with the Violet Leaf, Pink Pepper and Blackcurrant as the fragrance opens up.The one note that shines amidst the others is the Pink Pepper and it is a great shine!!
I was a bit hesitant on this as I thought it leaned feminine, after some time I realized that it was more of a unisex fragrance no matter what anyone else says. I like it, and have now found myself with a bottle to compliment my Rose Anonyme, Gold Leather, and Santal Carmin!!!
Silver Iris is a very fitting name as it gives off this airy Iris note that projects quite nicely with the Violet Leaf. This is a nice masculine fragrance and I think the fellas will enjoy this, yet the ladies will enjoy smelling it on you!!….:o)
One spray on the hand and it has been going for nearly 8 hours and it still smells as if I just sprayed. Guys, you will not need more than 2-3 sprays of this. This will choke those around you if more especially in the summer months. Maybe not in the winter, I don’t know!
    Longevity is off the charts;
    Projection is amazing!
    Silage is great;
    An overall stunning fragrance!
So, after receiving my bottle, I noticed that I get a slight Creed Original Santal vibe in the dry down, anyone else? Anywho, in love with this stuff!!

I am ambivalent about this fragrance. At first, it really does smell like vintage lipstick but when you start to enquire further there are some lovely, distinct notes to explore.
Patchouli does give the fragrance a Flower Bomb quality but rather than being sickly sweet, the black currant, amber, and musk offer a degree of sophistication and intrigue.
My grandmother used to say that violets were used at funerals to mask the smell, which is why I avoided reviewing this fragrance for so long. But you know what? I really adore it. It’s feminine and warm but at the same time, icy and cool.

as previous reviewers mentioned, I cant get past the old lipstick note, maybe my nose isnt as refined i dont know, the dry down is nice but it is very short lived (at least on my skin) that its just not worth the money..I mean if I had unlimited resources then absolutely yes..i wonder what is this note that gives me the old lipstick vibe?

Mmmnnn…what can I say? Silver Iris is an exquisite dreamy concoction! I sprayed this on and was transported to a fantasy dream. It’s evening…the twilight hour…and here I am sitting in a room full of crystal, violet iris bouquets. A candlelit room in an ice castle high up in a Swedish forest dressed in periwinkle violet colored chiffon. Everything turns the color of twilight…
This is a gorgeous icy iris with violet undertones and a splash of gorgeous rich black current merlot. Accords of vintage lipstick dries down to a cloud of powdery silver puffs…wafts up to 8 hours and makes me feel euphoric…like the powder on the wings of butterflies. So lady-like and refined. I can’t wait to wear this in the Winter…
    One of my top five…

I got a sample of this 2 years ago and loved it! It melted into my skin and breathed sweetness back out of it in the nicest way. It was not manly to me at all. I got a lot of creamy violet. I never bought it but got hooked on Guerlain instead. Rediscovered the sample last night, and it was just as yummy as before. Definitely going to get a full bottle when budget allows.

This is a like for me. I can see why it draws comparisons with lots of other iris-based scents. However, it is not quite like any I have tried, thanks to a citrus edge that keeps everything crisp and clear, rather than powdery and fluffy or sweet and resinous like lots of othe iris-based scents. And yet it is not cold or rooty either.
The sillage and longevity are both good, not overpowering but definitely present. However, as with the other scents from this scent I have tried, everything is best in the top notes and the dry down is a bit boring.

Silver Iris has an opening with a soft fruity note of sweet orange and currants, gooseberries that immediately join the atalcado powdery iris marriage and violet leaves. This trio will form the union that causes all the fundamental essence of Silver Iris.
Drying, it is added a “sweet” amber gives a denser, youthful look, something more feminine, a touch of patchouli and soft musk is also added to blend and extend the atalcada wake and sweet end (for my taste a sweet little old compared to the dusty since subtracts some prominence).
This fragrance in many aspects of their development reminded me a lot Dior Homme, because although Silver Iris is fruitier and sweeter than Dior, yes it transmits that atalcado touch lipstick or makeup that has Dior Homme.
medium-high quality, good length and moderate projection.
Sometimes imitations of other successful fragrances tend to be somewhat unfortunate (most). I remember many:
1996 Byredo imitating Goutal Ambre Fetish, Chez Bond imitating Green Irish Tweed, to give some examples.
But there are times you can improve, add or expand work already done with such an interesting or greater result than imitated, as in the case of Silver Iris compared to Dior Homme current and reformulated. So, either this work Atelier.

I really wanted to love silver Iris, but there is something about it that is too masculine for me- which is a surprise because I love wearing both feminine and masculine fragrances. Based on the description and that I love iris I thought that this would have a fruitiness and then turn more irisy, but that is not how this develops on my skin. The fruits stick around for a long time and with the combination of the violet leaf and then the patchouli in the base smell like bitter fruits with a dash of iris. I am wondering though if the cassis is partly to blame in this one, on my skin cassis either smells slightly fruity or like urine, in this case the urine note might be contributing also to my dislike of this fragrance. I would say if you like fruits, iris and a slight bitterness than this is the perfume for you, on me I’d much rather have more iris than fruits or anything else.

At first, this smells so strongly of lipstick that I can taste it in my mouth. Not nice lipstick either – old, musty, more beige than red. There is a very distinct lemon-like note that brightens it up considerably, but I can’t handle the lipstick.
The drydown is slightly powdery, and I’m still reminded of lipstick, but it’s not as overwhelming. The iris stays at the forefront but the scent becomes a bit spicy with time. The blackcurrant is definitely noticeable, as is an almost smoked tonka and some woody patchouli. Mildly sweet overall.
I enjoy the drydown, but I have a lot of difficulty getting past the first hour or two. Not a keeper for me.

I really had high hopes for this one as I like a few of the Atelier line but it’s just not my kind of iris. The first few moments are lovely; powdery iris, violet, soft cocoa and delicate peppery spice…but very quickly this becomes flabby and buttery on me, it’s like I’m wearing the equivalent of an iris infused chocolate milkshake – more chocolate than iris.
I like the cool metallic structured iris notes; pencil shavings, powder and wet earth, whereas this is a milky, chocolaty, crystallised violet and sugared almond, gourmand style of iris. It doesn’t smell bad at all though and if someone walked past me wearing this it would make me smile, it’s like a delicious waft of vanilla & chocolate cake from a warm oven, but ultimately once settled on my skin it lacks complexity and doesn’t deliver in terms of elegance or refinement – and it certainly doesn’t match up to it’s name, other than being presented in a silver bottle.
Ironically this one does last longer on me than many of the Atelier line but the longer it lasts the more like cocoa butter it becomes. If you’re a gourmand fan it’s definitely worth a try but at the pretty high price point of this brand you’ll probably find better value alternatives elsewhere.

I like it, but I also think that it’s overloaded with intense floral and oriental notes. Too much of everything. If you like heavy hitters, try it.

I will echo damightyheru, If this was on someone else and I only caught a whiff as they passed by, I would honestly probably think it was Valentino. It is sweeter and has less of a nutty/chocolate pseudo gourmand undertone. If this sounds like your sorta thing, give it a go.

I have been wearing DH and DHI lately which is another buttery iris , it made me think of silver iris and had to reach for this. OMG I love this. It’s sweeter than DH and more feminine but it does remind me a lot of it. Some other reviewer on here said the same . It’s funny as only the iris note is shared between them.
I would call this a gourmand fruity iris. It’s very sweet and for an iris and gourmand lover a must have ! I smell the iris ,violet , black current , tangerine and Amber and vanilla. Just so enjoyable. I have to wear this for a few days strait. Wow !

I have been putting off purchasing Silver Iris until now. WOW! I am very glad I purchased it. At first spray I smell the Iris, pure Iris. Then in the dry down I smell violet leaf, amber and musk. I also detect some patchouli which gives me a sweet/chocolate smell. Very gentle and when I think it’s gone, wham! I get another whiff. I am in love.

Archivist: I tried THREE different samples of this and they each had a different projection and scent! One from the Atelier rep at Sephora, one from Atelier, and one from Bloomingdales. The one directly from Atelier had the best longevity and projection.
Edit to add: This reminds me of scents like B&B Dark Kiss (but better ingredients and no incense) CK Euphoria (but not musky) and Dior J’Adore (but not sour), And John Varvatos John Varvatos (but lighter and more metallic). I feel the tonka and it’s very well done! AND I get 6 hours of lasting power, not bad!!
I would say, upscale casual — going out to an art fair, casual afternoon or evening out at a film fest, or to an urban cafe or wine bar.
    A-, Very strong “Like.”

I guess not many people are familiar with all the variations of natural orris: the absolute, the concrete, the variations based on its origin.
The smell from the vial and the opening of this – that sugary, fruity blast, is 100% tuscan orris. Personally, I find it to be a gorgeous smell, and this scent does *the best* job of capturing this particular natural orris aspect. The “fruity violets”, “sugar berries”, “cotton candy” – those are all facets of this particular orris absolute. I believe the intent of this scent was to be a study on the iris raw material and flesh it out into a perfume (the raw material is a bit too thin/sweet/unidimensional to be fully satisfying worn by itself). Silver Iris adds some more body, fullness and dryness, but is still quintessentially iris/orris.
To say that this is not like real iris is akin to saying that MPG Route du Vetiver doesn’t smell like vetiver (because you know vetiver from say, Mugler Cologne), or to say that Sarrasins doesn’t smell like jasmine.

Atelier Cologne’s Silver Iris smells like powdery sweet metallic cherries and I absolutely LOVE it! The iris top note has the nostalgic powdery and slightly metallic smell of vintage face powders and waxy red lipsticks that women from the early 1900’s would wear. I think it is the black currant and amber mixing together that smells like cherries to me. I pick up the mimosa, pink pepper, and musk in the dry down. I would love it if they could sell this as a pure parfum because I cannot get enough of this scent, it is so lovely. I was lucky enough to snatch up a big bottle of this from ebay for a barging and I will definitely be enjoying it for many seasons to come. In encourage my fellow powdery/make-up scent lovers who like a little sweetness to try this fragrance!

This is a very soft and easy to wear iris. A good iris scent for iris noobs, I guess you could say. 😉
The scent mostly smells of powder and soft iris, and a little mimosa to smooth things out. I can detect a faint fruityness in here as well. In the opening I get a carrot like smell, but that quickly goes away, and leaves a shimmery silver fog of shy iris that stays close to the skin. A great scent for everyday wear. Approachable and pleasant.
Longevity is moderate: 6-8 hours on my skin.
Sillage starts off moderate and dries down to soft.

Silver is the perfect name for this: the opening, with just enough blackcurrant, is sparkling and sharp amidst the subtly sweet and powdery iris. The blackcurrant is not the sticky and sweet one you find in Ribena or most blackcurrant sweets, but rather a nice, tart berry. The metallic quality goes away fairly quickly, and the iris has a slightly waxy and lipstick-like quality to it, but it is not at all unpleasant. I think it makes this scent more interesting than your averge floral. Overall, I’d say this iris has a lot more personality that Prada’s Infusion d’Iris, which was a very competent fragrance but left me kind of bored.
This is definitely a feminine fragrance. I’m a woman who happily wears masculine scents, but I can’t see this one going the other way – only a very brave man could pull off this powder. But hey, if you like it on your skin, go for it! I usually don’t care much for powdery scents, but this is a good one to have in the arsenal for the right occasion.

In my subjective opinion, (aren’t they all), This one is all feminine in nature. There is nothing unisex or masculine about this one. It is Iris to the 9’s. This is definitely for people who like Iris. It smells like Lip Sticks, less of boiling carrots like some etc etc. Definitely a luxurious Iris. Something I would buy a special lady in my life.

  42. :

I blind bought a sample of this, due to generally liking Iris scents (Penhaligon’s Iris Prima, I’m looking at you in particular) but the inital blackcurrant blast nearly put it in the reject pile.
However after a few minutes it turns into gentle powdery Iris goodness. I like wearing it in really cold weather.

My first review of Silver Iris below wasn’t very good. But after smelling it on fabric instead of my skin, I can clearly smell the tangerine. Evidently, iris becomes horribly bitter on my skin, but quite tolerable on fabric. What a difference! On skin, Silver Iris was a bitter mess, but on fabric, a nice tangerine scent. I simply couldn’t understand all the good reviews before, but now I do. Live and learn!
It eventually becomes more iris-y, but the top notes certainly last longer on fabric. Update: Still better on fabric than skin, but I simply don’t like the smell of iris.

My nose knows $$$. After smelling all of my Atelier samples randomly, this was one of the ones I placed in the favourites category. Of course it’s the one with the iris butter in it! I feel like this one is attempting to be a fruity version of Prada’s Infusion d’Iris – just a pity that it fails with my chemistry, because on me, it’s honestly reminiscent of just another designer fruity-floral.
The perfume begins with a sweet, slightly sour and very fruity blackcurrant smell, and I think I’m picking up on those violet leaves as well. The dry-down is very anticlimactic, as it’s a clean and powdery chemical funk on my skin. I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s an unlisted vanilla note lurking somewhere in here; it always seems to be the culprit and it’s always so synthetic on my skin. So disappointed. I really wanted more of that beautiful iris, especially at this price point. A moderate sillage that fades pretty fast to a skin scent; longevity is for about 3-4 hours. Performance with this one would probably be better in warmer weather.

Things that make you go “Hmmmmm”. Like the fact that DHI has sooooo many fans while so many folks press the dislike button for this scent. Its amazing how subjective people’s tastes are.
While a large portion of people on here smell this scent and hate it, I find it absolutely beautiful. When I first spray this, the first thing I notice is the Lipsticky Iris note that is so reminiscent of DHI. Now, since the only note these two scents share is IRIS, its clear that IRIS is very present in Atelier’s Silver Iris. To hear people say they don’t smell IRIS in this frag absolutely boggles my mind. The intensity of the Iris note settles down after a while giving way to the Violet leaf and Currant but its still there, subtly sharing center stage not dominating it.
It projects VERY nicely for at least 4-5 hours for my skin and the longevity is beastly. If u are a fan of Dior Homme, Valentino Uomo, or Midnight in Paris i’m dumbfounded as to why you wouldn’t like this. It performs, smells amazing and is different enough to all the b4 mentioned scents to warrant a purchase…people can be so fickle…lol

pepper and currents open but the fruit combines with violet to overpower the thin trace of iris here. i agree with others here that the dry down is flat and the balance off. though the opening was new for me. ironically, the gold leather in this line has a stronger iris note than this silver

  47. :

    5 out of 5

First, I want to admit I don’t know what iris smells like. Silver Iris opens surprisingly metallic and bitter to my nose. (Hey, silver = metallic, is this what they were going for?) Could this be chocolate gone bad? I know chocolate isn’t listed as one of the notes, or cocoa either, but I keep thinking of chocolate while wearing this. Very BITTER chocolate that has gone past the expiration (best by) date. I think it must be the patchouli, amber, and tonka drydown, but I’m not sure, and I don’t care to explore it any further because Silver Iris smells nasty to me, and I really don’t understand all the good reviews. If this is what iris smells like, I’m not a fan. There are too many other *good* frags from Atelier Cologne to waste another minute on it.

  48. :

    4 out of 5

I would say Silver Iris is a great “beginner” iris! You get the sweetness of the lipstick vibe, a bit powdery and feminine – but it’s the darker, juicy addition of Black current & the airy pairing with violet leaf that makes this effortless to wear, very modern with a hint of uplifting freshness.
For those of you who find some iris ‘fumes too dry & dusty – Silver Iris may be for you! This is full of life & vitality. As a collector of iris scents, I welcome all ‘types’ of this beautiful note, and I think anyone can find this rendition peaceful & simple to wear on a day-to-day basis.
(A recent reviewer mentioned that this reminds them of BonneBelle lip balm & I definitely can sense that note in the heart of this scent, but I love it!)
After a few wears, I noticed the drydown more and more. Whether it’s the musk used, or combination of base notes on my skin, the very end of the fragrance falls flat. Not metallic, not awful, nothing overly negative – just flat. It loses it’s cozy “mmmm” aspect, and just kinda goes slightly weird after a few hours on me. That’s the one thing preventing this from being full-bottle worthy! Try for yourself and see!

The opening of this is a hot mess. The black current is strong and smells like cough syrup. There’s a weird pepper thing going on and then the white musk sticks its nose in. Bleh! Happily this all sorts itself out in about a half an hour and it turns in to something quite pleasant. Now, about four hours in, I’m smelling the violet leaf and the iris with some kind of fruity sweetness I can’t pin down and the whole seems beautifully balanced. Fruity florals are not my thing and I doubt I’ll reach for this again but it’s really nicely done.

lovely iris incense and a sweet candied orange note dries down to sharp, acrid gaiac wood on me, which exlipses all the other notes. Didn’t work for me.

The reason why this beauty is so darn expensive is because it takes 7 years to get the iris extract… So it is quite some time invested, I’d say! For those whom it reminds of granny’s old lipstick – apparently, as I’ve been told, iris scent used to be put in makeup… Anyhow, this is marvellous, and sassy, and elegantly strict, half the sweetness you’d expect from the pyramid notes… If you like to put Modern Classic on – this is a way to go. Silage is average of 6 hours. 7/ 10

I am not a big fan of Atelier Colognes but I really like Silver Iris. I think they did very good job on this one. This is not too sweet, dry, little dusty and powdery iris root blend.
    True unisex and elegant!

To me this smells like Prada Infusion d’Iris mixed with Bonnebell lip balm. I kind of like it, but it’s way too expensive, even compared to the other fragrances from the Atelier Cologne line.

I couldn’t wear this. It smells of alcohol, or methylated spirit or paint stripper. It’s a very synthetic smelling scent, almost metallic or rubbery, with a flowery note coming through all of the industrial chemical fumes. I get some vanilla essence as well, but the alcohol is too pungent and it dominates the scent. There are nice elements to this perfume, but taken all of the component parts as a whole it doesn’t quite work due to the heavy alcohol base scent.

this isn’t quite what i expected. it’s a sugary berry-violet on me and has an underlying musk that reminds me of vintage makeup or powder. i am kind of neutral on this-no love or hate, it’s just too sweet on me. i think i’d like it a lot more with less intense black currant note and if it wasn’t quite this sweet.

Wow! So many negative reviews for this fragrance. I love it though. I haven’t tried a lot of iris perfumes, but this one gets no complaints from me. To me, it really does smell “silver”. This is going on my want list.

I was so convinced that this would be THE Atelier that would change my opinion and reverse my disappointment but I was wrong.
Iris can be chilly and elegant, like an Alfred Hitchcock blonde, but Silver Iris was strange and dissonant from the first whiff to the fleeting
