Description
Christian Siriano, the young American fashion designer, presents his first perfume called Silhouette in early September 2014.
“Fragrance is an item that lasts a really long time, and I wanted it to be something that was signature to my brand and my world that could last 50 years. We’re about dressing all types of women, and I wanted the fragrance to feel the same way. Even down to the name, Silhouette, we wanted it to feel like it could be for every woman—she can be any size, any age, any shape, and it’s all about celebrating the silhouette of a woman,” said the designer to InStyle magazine.
The composition is elegant and sophisticated, made from notes of grapefruit, black currant, green apple, freesia, purple berries, green and woody tones and oak moss.
“Things I thought would smell good together sometimes didn’t, but the things I thought were unrelated–like oakmoss and grapefruit—ended up working really well.”
The unusual shape of the bottle is inspired by evening dresses, twisted and pleated. The base of the bottle is colored in rose gold, and the cap is transparent and layered. The face of the advertising campaign is supermodel Coco Rocha.
The nose behind this fragrance is Christelle Laprade.

tonka, amber, benzoin, musk and black currant that give a patchouli vibe that smells like other frags I can’t place my finger on; dark, warm and rich

Silhouette reminds me a whole lot of Mugler’s Angel circa 1992 (not the Angel that has been out in recent yrs that is not even close to the OG 1992 version). The more I smell this, the more I dig this one. Also to me smells like shades of Poison’s Dior 1985. Like if 1985 Poison and 1992 Angel had a baby, it would be Silhouette.
If I had to briefly describe Silhouette, I would say to me it’s an “amber balsamic Oriental scent”.
Probably not for the wallflower, not unless she wants to stand out or make an impression. Also probably not crowd-safe, as I think this could be headache-inducing. And yet I find this a little intoxicating. Definitely not a shy fragrance. I did 2 quick spritzes holding my arm as far back as possible and the sillage is huge. Long lasting. Silhouette, you sure you weren’t created in the 80’s or 90s??
This was one I almost left on the shelf at Ross..so glad I put it in my shopping cart. Will be great especially once the colder months roll in. A strong like from me…nah, shoot, this one’s a love. But then, I tend to love the powerhouses of the 80s and 90s..So to that end, I think this is sort of a slight vintage fragrance. Not like the mass fruitcholis and candy bombs that fragrance companies can’t pump out fast enough these days. And yes, the bottle is cool looking.

this is my newest fragrance received for my birthday.. i love this scent.. absolutely love it! the staying power is the only minus imo. the bottle is unique and different as well as the scent. i get crisp green apple, sugar and musk at the opening, it then warms to a lovely sweet, slightly citrus musk with light flowers wafting in the background. longevity sadly is only about 2 hours, but i am very happy with this perfume regardless. i will be spraying quite often and i will definitely need a backup bottle.

I got this sample for free.
I smelled stronger body sprays on my girlfriend.
It’s great for an hour, but then it vanishes it’s a few inches above the skin.
No more after the hour, it’s on only the skin.
But if you spray it on your clothes, then it’s a bit better.

All I need to add is – an unisex thing. That’s how i feel it. It’s definitely not a typical feminine type of fragrance. And certainly not a definite citrus one, although you can feel some citruses.

Reserving the right to change my opinion, but I ordered it from Kohls during a big 30% sale, sight unseen, strictly by the description of green and cassis, vanilla, heliotrope, oak moss……and when I received, I instantly LOVED it. I almost swooned it was so intoxicating and exactly “me.” A couple hours later, I thought I could smell a musky sweet smell on myself way different from the opening, but still very good! Since then, I’ve worn it twice, neither time dousing myself, and don’t notice it past about an hour. 🙁 BOO. I’m hoping it’s just a mistake and I’m preoccupied or something and it will return to the sweet musky smell the next few times I wear it I REALLY hope it because after the first squirt, I ordered a 3.4 oz full size edp, shower gel and body milk from Beautyspin.com!!! I absolutely could drink it from the bottle, but agree (unfortunately) with most reviewers it is neither loud or lasting.
I kept thinking it reminded me of something I used to wear and was thinking Christian Dior Addict (the original) ….and after looking up that perfume I discarded years ago, decided the descriptions were similar, and it could very possibly be the one I was thinking smelled familiar in Silhouette.
It is also a bit pricey considering the silage and longevity, but just to have in my collection if only for the first fragrant and dreamy 20 minutes, it is worth it.

Initial impression, it’s tooth achingly sweet as if someone tipped over a jar of refined sugar. The beginning fruit notes are quite dominant and pungent, but the dry down is pleasant and soothing, reminds me of carnival cotton candy. Neither longevity nor sillage is impressive.

I got a sample of this with a recent beautyspin order. I knew who Christian Siriano was and I remember seeing this frag debut. For some reason or another, it just never entered my mind to try it.
Honestly, this is actually quite nice! It does start off a little sweet, but the dry down is dark and sexy in a subtle way. This is by no means a powerhouse perfume; it is soft, but nice nonetheless. I agree that the tonka, benzoin and orange and amber are the key players. On my skin though, the tonka and amber really stand out. Other than in the opening, I don’t get much of the fruit.
Even though it sits close to the skin, I found that I really enjoyed the scent, so much that I ordered a bottle. It’s not overpowering, so I can wear it to work and not overwhelm my patients or coworkers.

Cheers to Christian Siriano for a wonderful debut scent !
Soft and just slightly sweet
Ambrette ,Tonka bean and Amber are stand outs and make it very cozy , it reminds me a bit of Hugo Boss Deep Red .
Nice for anytime .
Sillage and longevity are not great but I just love it anyway 🙂 The bottle is Gorgeous to ! This could be Unisex as well .

I received this as a sample from beautyspin.
As tracy.debloistalley reviewed, it is soft, very soft. I literally poured a bit from the sample vial right onto my wrist and back of hand and spread it around with the dabbing stick. The dabber itself was not applying enough to get a good whiff.
It is seductive as you get closer. Now, a good 45 minutes in, I can sense some wafting up as I type.
Amber and citrus dominate to me, and the rose tends to be some spicey. The citrus is not a bright tang, it is mellow.
I think the sweetness is not too sweet, although I clicked Yes on Reminds Me of BS Fantasy . That was my first reaction, a faint BS Fantasy without all of the sugar, or the strong blast the BS Fantasy comes on with initially.
I find it rather well balanced in a lot of aspects.
I see Oakmoss in the notes listed, but not as noses have detected. I love Oakmoss , I can usually detect it right off, but with this – no, I do not pick it up.
I do like this very much, as soft as it is.
Too soft to be worn as a dressy big occasion scent, in my book. I imagine this in a intimate setting.
I imagine this worn with lingerie, or jeans.
The longer it`s on, the more I am loving this .
It is indeed sexy.
I had no clue it was as pricey as it is upon applying.
I figured it was a cheapie free sample :/ I guess I am ignorant of this designer.
Boo for me – this might end up on my 50th Birthday Perfume Gift List , after weighing the price in with other loves.
I would, however, trade this in ( figuratively ) for any of my amber/citrus/Tonka type `fumes.
Scent for me 8/10
Longevity ?? About 55 minutes now and detectable
Silage 6/10

I got this as a sample on FragranceNet.com (they send samples with every purchase), and I’m glad I did. The tonka, musk, amber and benzoin are the stars of this show, but the red currant, orange and green apple make it *just* sweet and fruity enough to “want to eat”. I get no rose or green here. It’s seductive. VERY seductive. Playful, but not “girly”. It doesn’t even walk that line. This is a must-have in my book. — For those looking, you can get a .33 oz sample on EBay for $6.95.
-I also review perfumes safe for migraine sufferers and this one has not caused one, though I am unsure if would aggravate a headache that is already brewing.

Loooove the bottle. So elegant looking.

How would you describe the smell of this scent (for anybody who has actually smelled this)? I want to buy this online & there aren’t very many reviews on it. It’s also a pricey perfume, so I would like an idea of what it smells like prior to blind buying it.

I do not like this perfume at all. It lasts for 20 minutes before completely vanishing. I honestly have never had a high end fragrance do this. When you first apply it is doesn’t really smell much either, it’s very soft, so soft I can barely notice it. I tried putting more on and nothing. It’s not a dud either, I checked another bottle and same problem.
Top notes are green apples, grapefruits, red currant, mandarin orange, and green notes. Frankly this is all I notice briefly for about 5 minutes, then nothing.
Middle notes are rose, jasmine, and freesia. Barely notice these at all.
Base notes are musk mallow, oak moss, benzoin, tonka bean, musk, and amber. I don’t smell these at all.
This is fairly pricey for what it doesn’t do as well; $70.

I requested a sample from the Christian Siriano website when I heard about the launch of the first ever fragrance from this designer. It arrived promptly in the mail and I tried it out this morning on unscrubbed skin. The start is crisp green apple but it twists almost immediately and I caught a huge surge of sugar. Perhaps its my untrained nose but I could not place the sweet smell…it was not identifiable as any particular type of berry or fruit. It is pleasant sweetness just not distinguishable. It changed again within 20 minutes to a strong wood with a hint of rose. Must have missed that “green”. I feel this is sexless and would be easy to wear for either men or women once the final notes arrive since the initial sugary tutti-frutti passes so quickly. I wish the green apple/sugar twist lasted longer. A pleasant, easy fragrance.
