Description
Shiloh X is the third fragrance creation from Hors La Monde. The first fragrance Shiloh, signed by Michel Roudnitska, was launched in 2007. In 2008, Lady Shiloh comes along, created in collaboration with perfumer Fabrice Olivieri. The same name stands behind the latest Shiloh X, available from 2011.
Shiloh X is “a fragrance for men and for women, for women child, for those who always believed in their dreams and all the others”, a scent that is totally genderless. It is also announced as an exciting new fragrant gem.
The beginning of the composition is ruled by fresh citruses such as bergamot, tangerine and pomelo. The center is constructed of spices. There are pink pepper, cardamom and cinnamon. Woody and oriental notes of patchouli, oak moss, amber, vetiver, cedar and benzoin form the fragrance base.
The fragrance is available as 50 ml EDP.

All type of citrus blended together with oakmoss.
it’s lime, grapefruit, vetiver, oakmoss, cardamom, patchouli, amber, tiny orange, and a little bit of cinnamon for the sweetness.
It’s like the usual men’s fragrance with added cinnamon, & cardamom for the twist, nothing special.

My initial thought: Tangerine and Cinnamon? Sign me up! To my chagrin, I use to think that I could see the future but I was wrong because Shiloh X was in it. Although I was a bit disappointed in the stereotypical developmental process, I find this frag to be more friend than foe. Tangy citruses are the first thing you will smell. The base is advertised as woody and resinous but surprisingly barely noticeable in the duration. The cinnamon is also a bit underwhelming as it never fully lends its services to the warm spicy category. Once the vetiver emerges, you will then learn of the familiarity this shares with such frags notably from the house of Cereus. Shiloh’s biggest impediment is its simplistic department store vibe; otherwise, this one was intended for Captain Easy Stance.

The Shiloh X is a real “Jolly Joker” fragrance with its sparkling fresh and juicy tangerine-grapefruit aroma that is able to bridle and control it in a spice bomb, like cinnamon and cardamom, and harsh laurel, which are never seen as incredibly gentle give depth to an already very lightly citrus. With eautiful balance the citrus notes come out from under his robe close to the skin with a soft woody notes of amber and patchouli spice extremely cautious and benzoin. Women, men, girls, boys, no matter who is the user, this fragrance suits everyone.

Not oriental woody to my nose. More of an aromatic fruity. Would be nice to wear with warm weather. The tangerine note is very predominant. I was hoping it would evolve to something warmer but I did not get beyond the fresh citruses stage and therefore never got the patchouli, oak moss, amber, vetiver, cedar and benzoin notes unfortunately.
