So, so sorry I didn’t buy this when it came out! I love the original, and I liked this even better. My skin chemistry tends to dull down fruits, etc, into florals, candy/sugar sweetness, and depending on the perfume it greatly enhances a musk scent. In other words, this sheer version smelled much more floral and light on me, and didn’t have the overabundance of vanilla that can sometimes irritate me about the original. Hate when they discontinue a good thing!

Got this as a gift(along w/the shower gel and lotion) and I don’t care for this scent at all IMO its way too heavy on the floral note…..I’m happy its in a small bottle so I can use it up and be done with it….B&BW has soooo many other better scents than this! and for those that might like this scent this scent lasts all day and night….the sheer version was light but still strong IMO
*All the versions of this scent give me migraines.

This seems like your average fresh, shampoo-y fruity floral over the first hour or so, with juicy pear and apple in the top notes, but it’s surprisingly nice as it dries down. It morphs into soft spice and woods notes with a bit of rice/vanilla, a hint of very mild cinnamon-sandalwood incense (a little like Japanese incense sticks when they’re still in the box) and thankfully it loses the cloying sweet thickness of the original (I can’t stand the lotions or the original perfume/body spray, but the shower gel is amazing for some reason, it’s all woodsy cinnamon-vanilla rice and not so much amber/plum)
It actually lasts quite a long time too, the soft cinnamon-rice aspect lingered all day on me and layers really nicely with the shower gel.

I had the perfume and shower gel.
The shower gel smelled very nice, but reminded me of Dr. Pepper more than anything else. The gel is also subtle and relaxing.
The perfume was sweet and strong, yet musky. To me, both smell fruity and floral.

This a nice perfume. It has a good balance of fruits and florals. It doesn’t smell artificial or cheap in the slightest. It’s fresh, fruit-juicy and floral. Actually smells like a very nice fruit punch. LOL! The lasting power is decent as well. This would be ideal for spring and summer. ;’)

I was drawn to Sheer Cherry Blossom by the unique bottle (hard to resist black, white, and red). My sister loves the original Japanese Cherry Blossom scent and though I’ve always liked it on her, it’s never been my favorite.
The sheer version of the scent is like a breath of fresh air; it’s fruitier and fresher than the original and to my surprise, I quite loved it. At first, it reminds me of Hawaiian Punch; there’s a tart, yet sweet burst of fruit (I smell cherry, pomegranate, and pineapple), which is tempered somewhat by a slight hint of woods and musk.
The fruitiness doesn’t stick around as long as I’d like it to, but as the scent evolves, things don’t get worse, just different. The tart, sweet notes become a bit dryer, and the whole thing heads into woody territory. It’s shrugged off the darker oriental notes of the original scent, and becomes a summer version of itself. I purchased this scent months ago, with the intention of wearing it during the summer, and was happy to find it at the back of my perfume cabinet a few days ago. I pulled it out and plan to wear it on days when I want to feel fresh, but still a bit sexy. It makes me want to sip fruity, frothy cocktails on the beach.
The lasting power is decent; I can still smell it at the end of a long day, though it does grow faint. The bottle is adorable, though not exactly well-made (the cap doesn’t quite fit on my bottle which keeps me from throwing it in my bag for fear of leakage). It stays true to the original scent, shedding the more melancholic and spicy notes and singing a happier tune.

“Sheer” Japanese Cherry Blossom is a soft floral with a slightly fresher top than regular “Japanese Cherry Blossom”. I like the slightly fruity, fresh topnotes, but I like the powdery, more sophisticated scent upon drydown even better. The muskiness tempers the sweet, and makes this a nice daytime scent. I also love the art-deco looking cherry branch on the bottle!

A pretty, sheer summer floral, but not, unfortunately, any closer to smelling like actual cherry blossoms than it’s mother. Still, if you liked the original, the sheer version is as-advertised.
