Description
Sensual Oud takes the stark, somewhat uncompromising odor of pure oud and filters it through
a uniquely French sensibility, refining and softening its blunt impact for Western noses without losing any of its essential grandeur. In this darkly sensual fragrance, the resinous oud note – smoky and austere – is backlit by a lush, almost jammy red rose and a green, fresh geranium note.
The velvety florals add softness and sweetness to the oud, and the oud lends the florals a dry, smoky facet resulting in depth and shade. Against this black velvet backdrop, clove and saffron offer spice, warmth, and the subtle suggestion of the fine suede lining of an expensive handbag.
As the base develops further, this suede evolves into a smoky leather note.
Sensual, sophisticated, and smoky, this is a real “wow” fragrance for those who are looking for a taste of the Orient but with a classically French sense of refinement and sophistication. A drop of this pure perfume stroked gently along the collar bone and worn under a classic black suit is all that is needed to draw everyone’s eyes towards you. “Now, there is someone worth getting to know,” they will say to themselves, not knowing why they are so attracted. Sensual Oud is a
fragrance that acts in sync with one’s pheromones, enhancing them so that you radiate confidence and mystery.

A dark, resinous creamy rose/ sweet oud fragrance. Somewhat restrained when compared to more Middle Eastern style compositions, but very in that direction. Understated and very chic. Reminds me of vintage Lancomes
January BEAR – :
A weak attempt to get into the rose oud category. In the top there is a hint of a soft synthetic oud but a huge blast of sweet fruit that you can’t tell is date. In the middle as it starts to dry it is ALL about the geranium and the rose. In the base it is a dry/bitter rose that gets softer and jammier as it dries down. If you want a jammy rose, I would go for Lush Imogen Rose or Tauerville Rose Flash over this any day and save a lot of money. There’s no oud in this other than a note of it in the top to give an impression. It does not last at all.

In Sensual Oud the brand makes it very clear what many other competitors end up omitting, the fact that its agarwood is a creation based on other essences, a accord built to resemble the original. The reason is not to use a raw material that may come from suppliers who indiscriminately explore the wood, thereby contributing to the increased risk of extinction. Sensual Oud is within what the market dictates for agarwood, worrying more about the details and delivering a harmonic and coherent execution from start to finish. Sensual Oud brings an agarwood accord that is woody and amber, an aura that surrounds the composition from beginning to end. The rose has the typical aura of composition, more sweet and boozy and it’s accompanied by spicy touches. Sensual Oud brings a light and short-living citrus freshness and a secondary sweetness that brings a little more dimension to the more linear dynamics of oud and rose.

I would use this to show someone who’s never tried oud what it’s about. I think it should be SESNUOUS oud, but I wont parse – a well bred scent for genteel perfume lovers of both sexes.
Neatmeddepeak – :
Very prominent rose and oud, hints of spice and pachouli. Smells very oriental warm with soft hints of suede. Very similar to rosey aoudy Mancera smells.

Sensual Oud is beautiful, and shows how oud can be used judiciously. The notes are so well balanced and blended to create a soft caress of a scent that doesn’t bludgeon your senses, yet has enough drama to entice.
It also reminded me of the compositions of both Daphne Bugey and Francis Kurkdijan. I don’t know who is behind this scent, but it smells like a gentler cross between Le Labo Rose 31 and Oud Satin Mood, leaning closer towards the latter. The spices and patchouli do not dominate, and support the soft, jammy rose.
Really well done, and would be lovely on winter evenings.
