I enjoy straight forward frags, as much as complex ones.
Waikiki Pikake is simple and amazing. No indole!
Exotic white jasmine and gardenia expanding in humid, tropical sweetness.
I can’t get over how spectacular that is, layered over Ayres Sweet Nostalgy body butter (jacaranda, gardenia, apricot skin).
That combination exalts the lush, heady fragrance of night-blooming flowers I’ve experienced in past travels.
This is my first Pacifica purchase and I cannot be happier.
The design and color scheme, from bottle to package, are adorable!

I love all Pacifica products; my favorite scent is Hawaiian Ruby Guava. I went through a stage of being enraptured with this fragrance, but it turned out to be overpowering with the strong tropical florals. It gave me a headache. A soap, candle or lotion might be preferable to the perfume.

I got a few beautifully scented soaps in Hawaii. I gave my mom one called ” Pikake”. I think it was a great summary scent.

This is a beautiful sexy fragrance perfect for the summertime. It reminds me of a secluded island full of mystery and sensuality. It gives you a warm feeling like the sun on your face.It is a very sensual perfume and it feels very relaxed. This would be perfect for the beach or romance.I really think it is Pacifica’s best fragrance. It reminds me of walking on the beach in Tahiti or Hawaii feeling the warm sand on your feet while smelling an exotic flower. The sandalwood is in perfect balance with the jasmine and it is really gorgeous.

This is a heady jasmine, slightly indolic with a quite bitter sandal base. After awhile it gets a creamy suntan lotion quality with a bit of that coconut vibe. I really like this, it projects well and smells amazing. This is a great “beachy” white floral. I actually prefer this to Monoi eau des Vahines , which was a ylang (not my favorite note) bomb with no coconut. I actually get more coconut from this one and it’s not even in the notes! Plus there is the sandal base. Total win for me 🙂

I adore pacifica perfumes. I get frequent migraines and these are very SAFE for me. I don’t know what is going on with Waikiki pikake , I get a coconut aroma in the drydown. Has anyone else found this?

My favorite in the Pacifica line! On my first visit to Oahu Hawaii, I was given a Lei made of Pikake, this stuff smells just like it, I was in LOVE with the intoxication of this flower, sweet tiny petals that filled my senses yummy. I could deeply inhale this all day! It just makes me happy!!! Since childhood I loved sandalwood essential oils, incense, etc… as it makes me feel complete and at peace.
So I guess they made this stuff for me! haha

Received my 1 oz. bottle today and I was kinda hoping for a truer Sambac Jasmine scent, especially since all of their perfumes only have essential oil elements. It’s greener than I expected and the sandalwood is definitely prominent. I will probably layer this with Monoi Tiare Oil.
Overall, I am pretty pleased with this scent, as with most of Pacificas perfumes. Lovely, natural, and affordable!!

I love Pacifica due to their use of naturals, and with this perfume – I had the solid – they have achieved the perfect light jasmine scent.
I usually don’t wear simple jasmine fragrances as I find it overpoweringly sweet and heavy, but this is light, just noticeable if applied at pulse points. It’s easy to wear inside, in humid or hot conditions, or for workouts. The sandalwood is more of a hint, just to counter the floral note.
Incidentally, the solids are some of the least comodogenic I have found, and are a perfect scented hair pomade or cuticle balm.

  10. :

    5 out of 5

I love this fragrance. It is a non-irritating, light but noticeable, long lasting fragrance (I have the solid perfume.)
The scent is a bit of a twist on the usual jasmine-sandalwood combination. It is uncluttered by any other note, but perhaps the particular variant of Hawaiian jasmine is what makes this perfume unique. It’s gentler, sweeter and less dry. I almost want to say it smells like it has a hint of coconut in it. But not like sweet coconut flakes, more like the faintest hint of coconut oil. It’s quite lovely.
    *UPDATE*
I’ve got to change my first review (above) to something less praising. There’s a balsamic twist in this that started coming out as I got deeper into my perfume pot. It would appeal to some, but not to me. Its like sandalwood, jasmine, and a hint of peru balsam. Soury.

THE SAD SAGA OF PACIFICA WAIKIKI PIKAKE –
As you know I’m a huge Pacifica fan. Just got this one today in the mail as Whole Foods does not carry the entire line all in one place at one time. For some reason I felt that this was going to be a more “Hawaiian” frag from the title and packaging.
This is the most “girly” non-unisex of all the Pacificas I have tried thus far. If you’re a “dude” you may want to avoid this one- it’s pretty and smells very “purple”. That said – still it’s a very pretty “white floral” perfectly created. More linear than most Pacificas as well.
Good but not as GREAT as most of their line goes. Longevity is fair (as with most Pacificas). Value is more than fair; the standard $22.00 wherever you purchase this.
Not my favorite Pacifica-but glad I bought it & have it in my collection. Pacifica has 2 new frags that have yet to be added in the Fragrentica data base (as of this date Nov. 2015); both are excellent……..especially the Sugared Amber!
    ————UPDATE_______________ 2 weeks later___________
I’m liking this less and less. Too much sandalwood for me. Sandalwood by aromatherapy legend & sciences is to be avoided by people in depressive states. It happens…. This is ALMOST my first Pacifica that I will consider trading or selling….
    **************************************
FINAL UPDATE—- Sorry to say this is the FIRST Pacifica that is going up for sale / trade. The sandalwood in this smells rotten on me after a while.
    FIN

Waikiki Pikake is very true to its name and notes – all jasmine and sandalwood. It’s strong, heady, and very warm. On first application, it’s like a warmer Pure Poison – a powerful white floral, more creamy than sharp. It then gets increasingly richer and spicier with sandalwood as it dries down. It does have a tropical feel, like a nuance of coconut milk running through it. It’s very sultry, very lush, and a little sweet.
Unfortunately, as a few others have reported, on my skin a sort of musky-sweat scent wells up about 20 minutes in. I’m the only one who seems to notice it – perplexingly to me, several of my family members said they couldn’t smell that at all, and that they loved the perfume. I have since experienced this with other sandalwood-note-heavy perfumes, and think that it may be an anomaly of my own body chemistry.
All in all, Waikiki Pikake is a very warm, rich, and pure oriental floral, with a very sophisticated and long-lasting scent for a very reasonable price. Elegant, but sexy and playful at the same time. And the bottles have really beautiful artwork.

It’s simple, pretty, and feminine. Wear this in the spring and summer when you want that fresh picked flower garden type scent. It’s not sensual at all, and sometimes the day calls for that.

Having blind bought a rollerball and solid of Pacifica’s French Lilac a few days ago, and having fallen in love with that and as, after making my first purchase, I received a 15% off voucher for my next order, which was too good a chance to pass up, I decided to try another Pacifica perfume! After reading the good reviews for Waikiki Pikake on here I decided to get a perfume solid of that.
When I received it a couple of days later I had high hopes for it, given that the French Lilac is SOOOO gorgeous and naturalistic, but sadly Waikiki Pikake to me doesn’t come close to being that lovely! While it’s not a bad perfume, I’m finding Waikiki Pikake to be a quite dense smelling scent, a little sickly, a bit too creamy smelling with a slightly skanky undertone. I’ve never smelled Pikake before but I would hope that the flower itself, outdoors, would smell much better.
I’m hoping that Waikiki Pikake might grow on me more and that I’ll reach for it more to dab a little bit here and there when I’m in the mood for it! For now though I find myself feeling a bit let down whenever I sniff it and I’m not exactly falling over myself to use it! It’s a shame because the little tin it comes it is so pretty, much like the French Lilac tin, so I just wish that the perfume itself would make me as happy as that little tin does! Luckily though I’m loving my French Lilac which smells so like fresh lilac flowers and is so refreshing, aromatherapeutic and clean smelling. I can VERY highly recommend that and I hope Pacifica keep it in their perfume range and don’t ever decide to discontinue it!

A little sweeter than expected and isn’t really floral, like I was expecting. This fragrance does smell a lot like a tropical island, without being overly fruity. I just wish it was a little more sophisticated but it’s a good fragrance if one wants to smell fresh and clean.

I’m having pretty bad luck with Pacifica jasmine fragrances. Immediately after spraying Waikiki Pikake, I get a gorgeous, heady jasmine…which lasts for about 5 seconds. Then it settles into sandalwood with a touch of jasmine, taking on that reviled sharp hairspray-like scent. I dislike it about as much as I dislike California Star Jasmine. Such a disappointment.

  17. :

    3 out of 5

Decided to try this again as my olfactory vocabulary is growing, and this time I did detect the star jasmine, but it’s super clear, fresh and rather masculine jasmine. I like it now 🙂

Sweet nectar-y white soliflore so naturalistic you want to book a plane ticket to Hawaii and be greeted by lap steel guitars and leis of pikake RIGHT now.
To me, this is like Tocca Florence’s little sister. Waikiki Pikake is more simplistic than her older, more worldly sibling, but has the same sweet heart and sincerity. Florence shares that pure, good-natured jasmine sambac running through her core, but it’s like she’s a college freshman who is discovering more facets to her personality and developing more depth as an adult. (Florence turns up the gardenia to 11 and diversifies a bit with other notes.)
I love Waikiki Pikake for a simple, pretty, natural summer fragrance. Wear it on a breezy summer day, or to the beach, perhaps with some coconut oil…?

Was a bad surprise to me, after reading so good reviews.
In my skin it´s only citrus and just disappear in a coulpe hours.

  20. :

Beautiful! Immediately upon spritzing, this is a heady, beach jasmine. Moments later there is a weirdness that enters… something a little sweaty, maybe… like someone else’s sweat? But, just when I think it’s ruined the whole fragrance for me, it passes mercifully away and leaves behind the most GORGEOUS airy, humid, breezy, warm pikake… like sun, and sand, and skin, and breeze, and pletals, and leaves, and dew… amazing. I love a coconutty, suntan-lotion feel in a summer fragrance, and, while Waikiki Pikake is not that at all, I love it for its uniqueness, It is refreshing, like an organic experience of being out among the flowers. The bottle is super cute (I love peacocks!)and the scent lasts very well on me, actually… I slept in it last night, and it is still there this morning. This one just might be my current favorite…
Unfortunate Edit: Jasmines have betrayed me, they just don’t work anymore. They hit that weird, cloying sweaty stage and just hang out there. So, this one is a no. Sad.

This smells like jasmine tea to me, which I adore. I’ve been looking for a scent like jasmine tea, in which warmth and a little smokiness is added to the jasmine note to convey the tea part. Waikiki pikake delivers, thanks to the sandalwood accord lending that warmth and smokiness to the authentic jasmine smell.
I much prefer this over Pacifica’s other jasmine variations. Pacifica’s Tunisian Jasmine on me is all sandalwood, with no hint of jasmine whatsoever. The California Star Jasmine doesn’t smell like jasmine to me either, I smell citrus and a bit of suntan lotion, which is disappointing since I adore the scent of jasmine bushes in SoCal where I live, and would love a replica of that in perfume form.

I absolutely adore this scent!!! To me t smells just like a seaside kingdom, I get a wonderful heady jasmine and a white musk scent along with sandalwood. Its a scent I have looked for , for a long time, I do not have the perfume but i have the body butter and the first word that comes to my mind is… AMAZING.If you love summertime flowers jasmine and tiare flowers then you will surely adore this. The lotion lasts all day at least on me it does, i dont even need the perfume, i think it would be too overpowering if i paired them, so i have my own personal supply of this fantabulous lotion.

Don’t know why but this just smells oceanic to me. All I can detect is a fresh, sharp, masculine, watery note no jasmine or sandalwood at all… :/

Have the solid of this and during summer keep this and the gardenia one on hand. Pretty heady white floral scent. Stays with me better I think as a solid than sprays do. Like it have to be in the right mood for it.

This is sweet and lovely! Very clean and refreshing. Heady without the indolic quality that a lot of jasmine scents have. Reminds me of jasmine tea. The sandalwood is nice in the dry down, adds some warmth and depth. Overall delightful jasmine in a balmy, tropical sense.

Loving my little solid of this! Gorgeous tin of balmy jasmine-y sandlewood – which pretty much sums it up. I also have the California Star Jasmine, I find this sweeter, a little more floral – Califoria has a more orangey woodsy feel, but I love them both – great for summer & great for travelling, possibly this one has more staying power, in the solid at least. So worth the money & would make a fantastic gift (as always) from Pacifica – just wish we could easily get the whole range in the UK – I have to look on Ebay or Amazon…..sighs

This is one of my all time favorite scents. I hve the solid perfume and when I wear it, which is often, I can’t help but bury my nose in my wrist several times throughout the day. It’s such a wonderful, heavenly scent and layers well with several of my other perfumes. I’m in love.

I absolutely love this scent!! I love the body butter, far better than the actual perfume. its more subtle.. the fragrance last a long time.. One of my new favorites!! plus i found an 8 oz body butter at TJmaxx for only 9.99!! Pacifica is an all around fantastic company!! <3 <3 <3

This fragrance combines my two ultimate favorite notes perfectly – jasmine and sandalwood. It’s sublime and unique and this is a fragrance I get compliments on every time I wear it. I don’t get some of the reviews here unless this scent mixes poorly with certain body chemistry because I just love this one!!

I REALLY LIKE THIS! Pacifica Waikiki Pikake is a well done wonderful Jasmine Concentrated Perfume. This perfume does not poke my nose or make it sneeze. I feel like a flourishing walking Jasmine bush in motion when i spray this on. This Perfume is Ultra Therapeutic!

So many expensive perfumes in my wardrobe, but this is the one I seem to be reaching for as of lately. Such a warm, lush scent of tropical flowers, I’m reminded of my many trips to Hawaii. One thing I remember was that at night, the smell of pikake and plumeria were most intense, giving this wonderful heady aroma to the night air. This recreates that for me.
Thankfully, spring has finally come in my neck of the woods and this is quite literally, the perfect scent for the season. I have the full bottle and rollerball, and when I run out I’ll definitely be repurchasing. Love this so much.

This is the worst jasmine scent I have ever smelled. After living in India, I fell in love with jasmine and have been trying to find a perfume that captures the smell of Indian jasmine (which, in my opinion, is the most heavenly scent), but this perfume is definitely not it. The smell of sandalwood is way too strong, and I can’t understand how this could really even be classified as a floral scent. Ugh, gross. And the worst part is that it has great staying power, so this disgusting smell is on me all day.

  33. :

    3 out of 5

This is my Good Morning Sunshine scent. Perfect with warm lemon ginger tea, the morning after a rain and something to read either outside or with the windows wide open. Pikake is it’s own distinct jasmine, and just the right amount of sandalwood to dry it down from what is often a heady scent.
Makes a great room spray in gloomy weather for a uplifting burst.

  34. :

    5 out of 5

Ok for starters and all the reviewers below:
    Pikake is Jasmine!
Its real name jasminum sambac and more tropical and sweet smelling on its own. It is native to Southeast Asia and the national flower of the Philippines but they call it Sambaguita.
NEXT – this is NOT indolic! When a jasmine is mixed with strong notes of musk you will get what they call indolic jasmine. Indolic refers to an animalistic scent and it is usually based on chemistry and other notes they mix with jasmine that produces that animal scent or rotting smell. Indolic Jasmine is a very strong scent and on some can tend to smell like fecal matter or straight up poop on your arm.
So it is nice to try jasmine scents, and know if they contain musk or not. This scent is NOT indolic jasmine.
This fragrance is delightful. I love the tropical sweet smell of Pikake (type of Jasmine). Pikake tends to come out heady and strong…somewhat sharp. But after a minute the sweetness of the pikake flower comes out, as it dries it becomes somewhat sweeter. It is a very tropical white floral scent. The sandalwood adds just a hint of depth keeping it from going too sweet.
I love both this one and Pacifica’s California Jasmine. They are both really nice. Different but similar — this one is a bit more tropical and t really lasts a long time on me!

Now this is jasmine! As it should be. Sultry, heady, warm, romantic. The balance it strikes with sandalwood is completely gorgeous. Its aroma is intoxicating This is a balmy summer night, thick with the scent of jasmine passing on a slow warm breeze. It is quite rich and absolutely floral – in the best way possible. Green but musky, smooth but sharp, it is velvety and encompassing. Very rich and completely natural. If you are shy of florals – this isn’t the lighthearted blend for you. A superior jasmine. The sandalwood complement is perfection – it just softens the loud floral edge to a place where it becomes a dreamy sigh of satisfaction. Try the soap – it’s fantastic!

I love jasmin. This is a fresh, lush jasmine. I don’t know how some are saying the sandalwood is dominant..it is very subtle. A great summer perfume!

  40. :

    4 out of 5

This smells wonderful. It has a fresh tropical hint to it in the bottle and in the opening but then becomes a beautiful sandalwood and jasmine blend. Though I must say, on my skin this smells almost identical to Estee Lauder Sensuous. But this is more relaxed and pretty, whereas Sensuous on me always feels quite formal.

  41. :

    3 out of 5

All I spelled when I sprayed this was sandalwood. It is one of the worst scents I have ever bought. The sandalwood is too strong, even when the scent mellows.

  42. :

    3 out of 5

I can see that there are quite a few fans out there for this one, so I’m guessing it was just my body chemistry that didn’t go well with it. Maybe the white floral was a little too strong. It definitely has a clean, fresh smell to it but not in a cold way. The heart of it was almost warm, like amber, but still kept light and uplifting. Above all, the drydown is the white floral, and I can actually imagine this smelling fantastic on someone else. Just not me.

  43. :

    4 out of 5

This reminds me somewhat of Nina L’elixir. I do get jasmine here, but also I pick up on sweet fruity and citrus notes, and clean musk. The dominant scents in L’elixir. Waikiki Pikake has a stronger kick of earthy white florals though. It’s OK, and it’s good for an inexpensive scent. I like it best in the first hour it’s on…after that point it gets a bit soapy and cloying.

  44. :

    5 out of 5

I don’t know the scent of pikake or hawaii, but this smells tropical. It’s not much like the jasmine in our backyard (in California) or like jasmine tea, but it’s a little bit like lemon blossoms, gardenias are the closest thing I know of. Very creamy and almost fruity-sweet rather than floral sweet, lush and tropical. It’s a little heady, but never musty or overwhelming, I dislike heavy white florals, but I liked this.
The drydown is very soft, still sweet, a little more floral and closer to jasmine, but not quite. I know Pacifica makes these to be layered, but gets pretty faint after about 30 minutes.
Compared to their Tunisian Jasmine, Wakiki Pikake is definitely sweeter, more gardenia-like, tropical and almost fruity, while Tunisian Jasmine is much more like a dry jasmine tea. Both are sweet and richly exotic, but in very different ways.

I agree with hollycat. I am a big Kai fan and I think I may like this even better! It’s so lush, green and tropical-LOVE!

  46. :

Jasmine (and the white flowers in this scent) really is a hit-or-miss for some people. Jasmine loves my chemistry (thankfully – SOMETHING does!) but I feel bad for the people that it turns to mothball smell on, because they are missing out.
If you don’t know how jasmine smells on you, sampling this would be a good test, because it doesn’t get much more jasmine than this. (I realize it it’s technically pikake, but to me, the floral is all jasmine)
Like one of the previous posters, I was a Love’s Musky Jasmine junky in the 80’s. This is pretty close.
On me, there wasn’t any citus or cedar – just jasmine and sandalwood.
I love Pacifica Tunisian Jasmine at least as much as this one – maybe slightly more (I’m worried that it will be discontinued – “oh no! not again!”) Frankly, I think that mixing Tunisian Jasmine with this scent might be the ultimate jasmine experience, as the almond in Tunisian jasmine adds beautiful character, and the sandalwood in this one is simply wonderful.
This lasts and lasts on me – pacifica fragrances are such a great deal!

  47. :

    3 out of 5

This is a very lush, tropical floral. Lots of white white flowers, mostly jasmine (love the jasmine) that I recognize. I have never smelled pikake before but I am guessing that the tropical headiness comes from the pikake. It starts off fresh and breezy then it warms up and becomes sweeter, more romantic as the day wears on. I thought it might be a nice light floral for day, but now I think it might be a bit heavy for the summer with the high humidity. It is so beautiful, warm and flowery though that I plan to wear it for evening or maybe special occasions. It is certainly a very special perfume, beautiful and lush. I have not smelled anything quite like it. I suppose Bell is right it is similar to Fracas but it has a lightness, a tropical feel that Fracas does not have. At least not on me. I am so glad that I bought this, it is lovely and different from anything I own.

I hated this scent. It is not at all what I expected. It was quite different from the other waikiki pikake I smelled before. I don’t know how to explain it, but this scent let me down.

  49. :

    3 out of 5

Really pretty and straightforward, not complex. I don’t really get much sandalwood other than a powdery drydown, just florals – white flowers with a very green edge – like a dry white wine. Great price for the quality, like all Pacificas, just excellent. Lasting power is in the middle, not the worst or best. Got to say I prefer their Tunisian Jasmine, which is warmer and sweeter, a little more complex, and lasts a bit longer. Alas, I passed this one on, it didn’t work ON me – smells better around me or on others near me. Love the peacock on the bottle!

  50. :

    4 out of 5

This Waikiki Pikake is not a complex scent so this is just my overall impression, which is quite good. As expected, It gives me this sense and smell of exotic tropical flowers and green leafy plants. It’s so tropical rainforest-like with the hint of ocean breeze, but its not at all aquatic. Furthermore, it is quite light for white floral scent, and I personally don’t like jasmine. I guess its because the solid perfume provides much softer feel. Wait til it settles down and the scent is enjoyable.

  51. :

    4 out of 5

I love the packaging on these things, but this one ended up smelling like mothballs on me after dry down. Onset was a nice tropical floral, though it didn’t exactly remind me of Oahu. But it ended up with that sharp mothball edge I often get with white florals. Ah, well, you sure can’t beat the price.

  52. :

For those of you who like Kai, I say try this instead of Kai. To me it smells better than Kai, even more natural. A nice, tropical, white floral scent. At a price you would pay for a few bags of organic apples.

  53. :

    4 out of 5

This is a surprisingly heady floral (most of the Pacifica perfumes I’ve tried have been on the light and citrusy/fruity side). Very reminiscent of Dior Pure Poison to my nose – a warm, creamy jasmine. The sandalwood definitely comes into play, giving it a woody drydown similar to Pure Poison. Waikiki Pikake is not a complex scent, but it is rich and very natural smelling. I tried the solid perfume – a true bargain at $9. Decent strength and lasting power to boot. Thumbs up!

OMG!!! I felt like I was back on the beach in Cancun!!! What a great fresh tropical scent!!! If this is what Hawaii smells like…I’m sooooo there for the rest of my life!!!

  55. :

Pikake is the traditional ‘royal’ flower of the native Hawaiians and was used in the making of leis and marriage beds – I smell the seductive tropical flower in addition to the jasmine (a relative) and sandal listed. A beautiful heady floral in the manner of Fracas and the original Tuvache Jungle Gardenia, but the lasting power is not as long as some rich florals.
