Description

In collaboration with Coty, the house of Chloe will present a fresher version of the fragrance See by Chloe, which was launched in 2012. The successor to the perfume See by Chloe is also based on apple blossom, which is this time surrounded with a bouquet of fresh floral notes of water hyacinth and delicate jasmine, evoking freshness and the power of blooming spring flowers and the awakening of spring. The base of the fragrance See by Chloe Eau Fraiche offers an elegant and earthy shade of vetiver that rounds out the floral essence of the composition. The perfume is signed by Michel Almairac.

The new version of See by Chloe Eau Fraiche arrives on the market in January 2014 in the flacon shaped like the original edition, accentuated with a pink base.

As I am still learning what scents I really like on me, I can say if it has Vetiver, no thanks! That is all I can smell of this. I received this as my monthly scent sample from S.c.e.n.t.b.o.x and I hated it. I had to scrub and scrub and scrub to get as much as I could off of me and it still somehow lingered. So congrats on longevity because after 12 hours and many scrubs later, I could still smell it. At least I have learned that I really do not like heavy notes of Vetiver base notes in perfumes and will pay close attention to future selections. I couldn’t smell any other notes and I don’t really get the ink pen scent some are talking about.

I fell in love with this fragrance from the first minute I smelled it. I Didn´t buy it right away thought but got it as a present next Christmast. I actually used it a lot and now the bottle is almost empty. It took a about a year for me to use it and I used it as an everyday scent. I was pretty sad when I first noticed that it is now discontinued cause I was about to buy a new bottle. Now that I haven´t used it in a while, I think it´s not for me anymore. I´m just gonna save the rest that´s in my bottle and sniff it once in a while to remember the year 2015 when I used it. It was a nice simple floral scent (that I am usually not that into) with not too much going on. Now that people have pointed out the pen ink scent, I can definately smell it myself too.

Do you have any idea if this is discontinued? I checked in several online stores and it’s unfortunately sold out.

The reviewer that said this fragrance smells like pen ink is spot on — it’s cold and slightly sweet (in a gently unsettling way) and undeniably inky. Reminds me of what Mia Wasikowska would wear in Stoker.

For me another floral sweet parfume, very plank with lack of originality that See by Chloe have. it is quite nice and delicate, but nothing more than that 🙁

A pretty, simple, and modernistic daily feminine perfume for day-use, stuck in the midway between girly and womanly. It’s categorized as Eau Fariche, but I cannot call it fresh–according to my own perception, and it’s not low in concentration. However, the sweetness of this one is perfectly balanced with sour notes.
Although it lacks the complications many perfume-holics seek, the smell remains unique, pleasant, truly within the Parisian lines, naturally complimented, and with impressive projection. It cannot rise to the level of an innovation no matter, but still its distinctive to what is being usually released. I find it quite memorable.
I understand the pen-ink similarity, but that’s part of the apple blossoms’ smell mixed with vetiver. Somehow true on paper, with some exaggeration, but I personally perceive that in a good way on the skin.
My bottle doesn’t give a soapy smell (except during the final dry-down phase after 8 hours), but rather it gives a very light creamy make-up vibe.
If you need something overstated or head-turning, then this is NOT your perfect choice. This is an ideal choice for casual looks, during the day, yet it smells expensive.
    Sadly, it’s discontinued.

Sweet and floral. Aquatic soapy. Nice but nothing worth what you pay for it, unless you like paying for silliage, then this one is worth every cent.
Yes, pen ink. That’s exactly how I would describe it. The apple blossom is incredibly strong with vetiver not too far behind. I get no water hyacinth or jasmine.
Smells “expensive”, nice for a casual spring/summer scent and works well in intense humidity. I found it pretty straightforward.

Pen ink.. that’s what it smells like to me sweet pen ink

I regreted having tried this, it’s just not my kind of perfume. Very very sweet, but floral sweet, not fruity. The floral sweetness was too much for me and the worst part is that it last all day with over the top sillage. Definetely not my cup of tea.

I’m a huge See By Chloe fan, and was so excited for this. Apple blossom, hyacinth, vetiver, and jasmine are all favorites of mine. Unfortunately, I was disappointed when I received this bottle. All I smelled was soap. I couldn’t pick up on any of the apple blossom, vetiver, jasmine, or hyacinth I’d been so excited for. It was just soap. A high-end soap, to be sure, but soap none the less. I’ve seen others describe it as an expensive creamy soap bar, and I think that is the perfect description for this fragrance. It’s not offensive by any means, and if a creamy soap scent is what you’re looking for than you may love this. However, to me it felt incredibly generic, and lacked the personality that makes me love See By Chloe so dearly.

I loved this fragrance at first, now i like it. It is in my opinion a little one-dimensional. It just doesn´t develop. You´re waiting for something to happen. but it doesn´t. Something is missing in the blend.
Still perfect for a sunny day, spring or summer or why not in the winter! It stays all day too!

It turned into smth familiar. Cat Deluxe? I used to have it and with curiosity discovered that they have one nose behind them.

I tend to shy away from eau fraiche flankers, because I’ve always found them to be very sharp and synthetic. But this one manages to be crisp and clean without having that eau de cleaning fluid smell that some of them do. (To my nose at least!)
It’s a fresh breath of apple blossom, perfect for a hot summer day, paired with a floral dress and your favorite sandals.
I’m torn between like and love.

I was very excited when I first received the bottle but when I spent a day with it on, the smell kept coming to my nose and it gave me headache all day. It smells good at first but I do not recommend it if you don’t like heavy smells.

smells very pretty, rounded creamy bouquet of flowers. It’s like the creamiest soap bar or a cream body wash, so clean & flowery & fresh. It’s definitely a keeper & it’s perfect for fresh carefree mornings when you go shopping or just for a coffee with friends at some nice coffee shop. It’s one of the biggest hits this year for me along with miss dior blooming bouquet.

A beautiful fragrance. I find this smells “younger” than the original See. On me, it’s too powdery, and something in it veers on the “sharp” edge. It reminds me slightly of Burberry Brit Sheer. It’s fresh, pretty, and light, but it just doesn’t work for me!

  17. :

This beauty is a soft and subtile scent, and very safe for everyday use. And being and eau fraiche does not hold This one back:) it has massive longivity and radiant sillage.. I like it. IMO all age apropriate. The aopleblossom and The water Lotus Makes the scent stand out.

Very nice pink floral perfume, easy to wear, fresh.
Not as interesting or distinctive as See, and usually Fraiche versions are a bit more bland…Nonentheless, it is a nice soft scent, that smells pretty…the Jasmine dominates but in a subtle way …nothing for me as it lacks sillage and projection, but for lovers of softer scents, this is a nice one! Plus the bottle is real pretty!! Similar to Prada Florale also
    I think.

A little simple, flowery and clean but overall very very nice. Easy and uncomplicated and it has a slight effervescent quality. Like the original See, but that one is a little heavy and syrupy. As much as I like it, I think See Fraiche is an improvement over the original. This one is a real crowd pleaser.

Very fresh , it smells like spring ! I love it . The sillage, on me is significant and the longevity is moderate . This apple blossom mixed with water hyacinth is delightful . I found it to be a natural scent , feminine , not overly sweet , suitable for all ages and versatile . It is a re-apply type of fragrance, which is a bonus in this case ! I could re-apply this all day long ! This is very nice , this is a wonderful summer fragrance !

Nice, light, fresh, suitable for a present. Very neutral. For my taste too light and short lasting.

  23. :

    4 out of 5

Very light and fresh at first. It changes so much over time you can’t even tell it’s the same scent. It gets more sweet as the time passes. I see some similarities with the original.
I haven’t smelled water hyacinth or apple blossom before but I think this is how they should smell.
This is very fashionable perfume. Glamorous and sexy.

  24. :

    5 out of 5

Very youthful, light and gentle. Watery, not too sweet, suitable for daywear and warmer weather.
On my skin, however, it turns out so synthetic it quickly gives me a headache, so make sure you give it a good test before you buy if some perfumes tend to give you a headache too.

  25. :

    This is a keeper!
So easy to wear and nicer than the original See by Chloe in my opinion, I have nothing else like this and I find it so comforting yet lively and fresh.
My only criticism would be the longevity which is sadly almost non-existent on me, I’m lucky if I can still smell it after an hour, but then that does give me the excuse to apply more and get that heavenly blast again!

Soft, light, very beautiful fragrance! I absolutely love it! The only thing that bothers me is that it doesnt last long- it lasts only couple od hours. I spray it three or four times a day all over again… Suitable for spring and summer, but since it is very light, you can wear it any time of year. I am finishing my second bottle… Love it!

I love this fragrance! I had been searching for a fresh, sparkling apple scented perfume, and this is it. It is reminiscent of the original See by Chloe, but, as the name implies, is a brighter, fresher version of it. Despite the lighter composition, however, the longevity and sillage are impressive. I sprayed one spritz on my forearm and could still smell it the next morning. The dry down becomes slightly musky, but overall, this scent is quite linear, which is good because the freshness of the first spray is maintained all the way through. This is a beautiful, versatile, feminine fragrance that is perfect for special occasions or just casually hanging out with friends and family. Well suited for spring, fall, and hot summer days.

  28. :

I love fresh scents for their invigorating quality but few of them smell womanly. See by Chloe Eau Fraiche, however, manages to be fresh (water hyacinth), womanly (apple blossom), warm and smoky/sultry (vetiver). On my skin this is sweet, understated sex. I could wear this angelic powdery and smoky accord anywhere.
Eau Fraiche is best summed up by a blissful sigh or a swoon. This is a floral I can stand behind wholeheartedly and there aren’t many of those.

too fresh for me, since this and the EDP are so close at their smell, the perfime is better.

On my skin it smells like apple pie, it’s almost disturbingly authentic.

  31. :

Light, delicate, floral-aquatic, much better than the original See Chloe (nothing in common, just the name), not offensive, if you like Issey Myakke style this one is right for you.

We have this at my store (Lord & Taylor) and I do enjoy it- but while comparing it to the original See By Chloe, it just seems almost identical to the original and I cannot justify buying this one. However, if I find a tester on eBay for cheap, I will most likely get it but definitely not at full price.

  33. :

Truly charming scent, gentle, delicate jasmine, with very sensual vetiver base note. Fresh floral all the time, so perfect for warm weather.
Update: I’ve bought it! I can tell you that it is ideal spring fragrance, fresh and alluring. My first Chloe.
Update2: the hotter weather, the better it smells.

People who didn’t like the vanilla and bergamot notes in the original See will probably enjoy this. Eau Fraiche has a similar base to the original, but the spicy and vanilla notes have been removed. The Eau Fraiche is a pink floral scent with musky and aquatic undertones. It’s light and fresh, but generic. It would be an appropriate daytime scent to wear to work. The longevity is good. I got about six hours worth of silage before it became a skin scent, and 10 hours later I could still smell it when I put my nose to my wrist.

Eau Fraiche version of See by Chloe lost all of its personality. Nothing special, quite faint. Original version is far better.

  36. :

The youthful spring blossom opening is fresh and sparkling. It spreads a bright aura of happiness. When it dries down the shampoo vibe that is so prominent in the original See by Chloe reveals itself, but in a lighter way. Sillage and longevitey is good for such a fresh scent without a solid foundation in heavy base notes. I like this version a lot more than the original. The bottle is almost irresistably pretty.

  37. :

    5 out of 5

This would’ve been great if it had a tinge of raspberry to it and a little bit of woody or nutty sweetness in the base.

  38. :

I wasn’t a huge fan of the original since I thought it was a bit too harsh. So I was looking forward to this edition of eau fraiche.
The opening is beautiful as to be expected. A tinge of the original can be found throughout the heart. The jasmine which is so overpowering in the original is tame and more balanced in this edition.
All in all the scent is pleasant. Kinda soapy and reminds me strongly of Cacharel’s anais anais. I thoroughly enjoyed this testing but I won’t be purchasing a bottle, this scent is too timid for my taste.
Sillage is moderate. Lasting time: still very noticable after 5 hours. I recommend daywear and the age bracket is teenage to about thirty.

I get a lot of similarities with original See by Chloe, but this one has no vanilla in it and is therefore lighter. I don’t think it’s common scent, pretty fresh but unique at the same time. Longivety is also just fine. Beautiful and on my wishlist!

Just got it today . An unexpected gift!! Ok, very similar to the original, the apple blossom dominates, plus a pink edge to it…I prefer this version though, it is fresher, more springlike also…I think if you liked the original, you will like that one…easy to like, pretty soft scent…for me, I didn’t find the original real appealing, so not too impressed with the Fraiche version..the lasting power is nice..

Hi, in Spain You can find it already, is a real interesting edition. Still has the Apple Blossom edge, but not as “honeyed”, is fresher, modern. Previous one has a more serious vibe, maybe was the Ylang-Ylang, E. Fraiche is less dense.
The Water Hyacinth is noticeable, making it more floral and bright, feminine too. Lasting power despite being an edt, is quite good, same as edp.
    Overall, really pretty!.
