A fresh grapefruity zing when it first goes on, with a crisp tang from the grapes and a touch of wood. After a few minutes, it settles into a pleasant, fruity fragrance, and that’s where it stays. This is my second go at a Ginestet fragrance, albeit in tester form – I have a nice big bottle of Botrytis, which I love – but sadly, this doesn’t seem to have the staying power of Botrytis. Two hours in, and all that was left was a soft, pretty fruity scent, very close to the skin. Four hours in and it was gone. Nice, but it’s not for me.

Right on the money. However, a bit too boozy for any time before cocktail hour.

Sauvignonne – On first sniff, fruit salad after it sits too long, a bruised fruit aroma. I can definitely smell the grapes and a hint of citrus, whiff of peach and then the powder hits. As it dries down it morphs into a very old fashioned sweet talcum powder scent with a plastic twist. It reminds me of those scented dolls the old ‘Liddle Kiddles’ that came in a plastic perfume bottle. Then the scent disappears. 90 minutes and it is gone. I really and truly wanted this to work for me but sadly this scent does not work on my skin.

“Sauvignonne” has a really interesting concept, but unfortunately the delivery is not as succesful, at least for me.
This perfume opens with overload of citruses, making this slightly unpleasant, but the magic starts to happen when grapes appear. For me it does not smell like Sauvignon Blanc, it’s a bit more of a “riesling” type of scent, the grapes are remarkably fresh and almost ice-cold and there is the sweet peach, it never gets overly sweet, but there is always the lovely feminine vibe of ripe peach.
Staying power is excellent and silage is very good. Ir didn’t quit work for me as I felt something is missing and well I don’t feel like going around smelling like wine, but this is worth a try. “Sauvignonne” is a unique try on citrus aromatic.

Yes, they nailed it! The mineral quality of sauvignon blanc is there, the clarity, and the tenacity. I almost finished my sample last spring. I would apply sparingly, though, the stuff is strong, and can get overwhelming when the grapes kick in.

On opening, this fragrance is very reminiscent of its namesake. A distinct herbiness to it… verbena, mint, coriander that contrasts with an incoherent powder. It mellows and sweetens on the drydown. An ideal scent for a modern minimalist.
    Reasonable silage and longevity 3/5.

Ok I guess this does sort of resemble a chilled glass of white wine, but it just didn’t do anything for me. It came off as a cross between a fizzy lemonade and a Minty toothpaste, I’m sure it’s the zingy grapefruit that has this effect. I can also just detect the slight woodsy note in the background. It’s not bad but it lacks personality for me and I can’t see myself ever reaching for this. It’s also quite fleeting.

I just love Sauvignonne! It has been hazy, hot and humid this summer, and I’m finding myself reaching for this fragrance almost every day. It opens with a sharp, zest-of-citrus rush that dries down quite subtly to a fruity middle – very gourmand and kind of playful. It also has a quality I adore in scent: it’s boozy – in a really good way. Obviously, it is based on a lovely, soft-peach sauvignon blanc, but for me, the opening notes of brilliant, sharp citrus and the icy, alcoholic finish leaves a lingering trace of a great glass (or two or three) of chilled wine. When I wear this scent, I feel refreshed, energized, almost a little giddy, as it reminds me of cocktail hour on a hot summer afternoon. A joyful scent in every way!

Cool and crisp, the grapefruit opening explodes. Then the peach kicks in and then…NOTHING!! This disappeared in 15 minutes! Very sad, as it is a lovely scent.

I really really like this. Very citrusy and fresh. I think it’s slightly vintage smelling but not old fashioned.

As you open a bottle of imported New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc and pour the chilled golden liquor into the wine glass the first olfactory sensation you receive is the delicate ripe peach. This is followed by a lingering citrus freshness and grassiness. As you look at the amber colour you take your time to smell the bouquet and then the final tasting. It’s well balanced with the end palatte of oak. A little of this behind your ears and you will have no trouble attracting attention.
