Bought a 1oz bottle of this on eBay brand new. The thing was so hard to open I almost broke the black top since it’s a “vintage”. Mine has no projection it’s more of a close to skin scent. Maybe there’s something wrong with my nose but I feel like I’ve wasted my money on this one. It’s the 1oz black top bottle with the yellow oil. It smells citrusy but it’s not sweet at all mines just straight up citrus. I did score a 15ml vintage vanilla with the amber color, now that thing smells amazing and is beastly almost cloying from 2 drops behind the ear. It starts out like French vanilla then dries down to a vanilla baked good gourmand smell. I bought them separately for under $100 so I lucked out. Anyway the Satsuma is a dud for me so far even though I got the vintage bottle it seems to have lost something.

The Body Shop Satsuma Perfume oil reminds me of when my Grandparents would come to visit from Florida. My Grandpa would always bring a bag full of satsumas and we would consume all of them in one sitting.
Sweet, delicious, refreshing. So, my bottle of this sits, about halfway used. From back in 2006. I generally only open the bottle to take a vicarious, sensory vacation. But maybe I need to break it out again when I feel the need for a little citrus getaway. I would imagine this is what an orange grove smells like. Kind of reminds me also of unpeeling an orange. I get this zesty bergamot note that isn’t listed but I swear its there. It’s very uplifting. I bet this would smell nice with a woodsy type of lotion.

I’m not sure if I ever wore this without getting a compliment, but I took it for granted, & did not buy a backup. Sincerely hope they bring this back!

Tangy, juicy, sweet as sugar, and bursting with sunshine! This is the olfactory equivalent of a glass of fresh-squeezed orange juice. It smells like fruit and flowers in the way only the citruses can. I bought the body wash years ago and my sister and I fell in love. I found it again when TBS reissued it, and I am totally addicted.

Hmmm what a sugary zesty delight this was? Why did they have to stop it? I often got compliments wearing this, once someone said I smelt like a boiled sweet. It did have a slighty sweet note to it, just barely there if I’m honest. It would last for hours, even better when teamed with the satsuma body lotion. Wore it day or night in the warmer months and in the colder months when I wanted a feel good fragrance to lift my mood.

Smells like Fanta! But I adore it and I miss it. It’s no longer available and I only have one bottle in my store cupboard. The best summer scent. Fresh and beautiful.

Whenever I where this is am bombarded with the question, Why do you smell so good? After the shock of a miss guided question, implying that I normally stink passes, I feel great. This smells so good you will want to walk around with your wrist under your nose. Love this scent.

Very yummy scent! Smells exactly like freshly squeezed mandarin oranges. Just wish it was in perfume form as this oil is overpowering.

This is a lovely tangy, very long lasting scent. I prefer to use the body products in the range as it’s not really an everyday perfume. It’s nice to open up and have a little sniff of now and then. Nice 🙂

I looovee Satsuma line from the body shop. I have the complete collection of shower gel, lotion, body scrub, shimmer lip balm, home fragrance oil..Well, generally I just love walking around like a big, fat, juicy Orange. It’s uplifting and very refreshing. This perfume oil is already discontinued and I truly cherish my only one half empty bottle.

Absolutely delicious fragrance! Am so guttered that do not sell anymore in New Zealand (at least in Auckland that is) One of my all time favourite scents of the Body shop. Fruity, summery and fun

I really like the Body Shops satsuma-line so it would be wonderful to carry around with this all day!
pdjavad – :
the perfume oil is way too overpowering for ordinary tastes.. in the body lotion, however, it turns to magic..
Valer3535 – :
Great now and again and not at all subtle but this doesnt pretend to be anything other than what it is…. Just a simple sweet Orange/Satsuma and as others have said, a great pick me up and only a couple of dabs needed!
Asypebeex – :
This is all I could wear when I was pregnant so, of course, I love it! Magical memories.
Boythichcyday – :
Hmm..There can’t possibly be any other components in this worth mentioning other then Orange (or Satsuma in this case). I’m wearing this today because I was feeling tired and it brightened me up immediately however that doesn’t make it nice. I had to first put cocoa scented lotion on to tone down the intense smell. I certainly wouldn’t wear it without mixing it with another conflicting scent to make it more interesting as without it it’s just not saying anything other then “I’m Orange Baby!” – You don’t say!
nif40 – :
Overpowering orange scent – and thats about all i have to say about this.
Svyrydov – :
Satsuma is an intense sugary orange scent. I recently ate a Satsuma and the scent of this perfume is sweeter and more intense than the actual fruit. You will not be able to detect the other fruity notes in this fragrance. It’s all about the oranges. Fans of the sweet, uplifting citrus scents like the Clinique Happy series will probably enjoy this one.
The local Body Shop store usually burns the diffuser oil version of this scent during business hours, to help attract customers. The scent is so intense that it perfumes that entire wing of the mall.
Satsuma as a perfume oil is pleasant at first, but very quickly becomes overpowering. I think the best way to experience this scent is in a wash-off product like the soap, bubble bath or shower gel. All of those products are highly scented and leave a pleasant and much more tolerable amount of aroma on the skin.
