Simply exquisite-perfect for what it is: a full bodied floral chypre. It’s not like me to say this, but this perfume does indeed smell *expensive*- it is strong, beguiling, but not terribly approachable. It has a very dry and reserved quality. The aldehydes are strong but not overwhelming, and the jasmine adds powder atop the carnation’s spice. Not all women can wear carnation, but Salacia’s admirers will do so with aplomb. The violet leaf is restrained, as is the oakmoss; nonetheless, this perfume has good sillage and longevity. Highly recommended, both for being a perfect example of its class and for making me feel like a million bucks.
