I am starting to wonder about these samples of the Sage Machado combinations. Sage & Citrine smells exactly like Sage. Garnet & Amethyst smelled exactly like Amethyst. There is a clear pattern here…
I can think of two possible explanations: perhaps these really are half and half mixtures of the two perfume oils, and one of the scents is simply much stronger than the other, so that it completely overwhelms it and smells just as though the second scent was never added.
The other possibility? That only one of the two oils was included in the sample!!!!! I believe that dual applicators keep the two perfume oils separate, so they are not really mixed when one purchases Sage & Citrine or Garnet & Amethyst. I believe that the idea is to be able to mix them to one’s liking on one’s own skin. So perhaps my sample of Sage & Citrine only contains Sage? It smells just like clover or sweet pea in a meadow to me–exactly like Sage!
