Not really liking this one. It smells more like vanilla candle than fragrance.
However, it may be good for layering with other fragrances e.g. citrus/stronger scent if you want to add some sweetness or creamy vanilla base.

Insanely sweet. Love it. To me it’s vanilla, and a lot of it, but with an almost synthetic berry note to it? I don’t know what it is, but there’s something tarte to it.
I like the bottle, but I don’t feel like it suits the sweet vanilla scent.
The spillage is average, and the longevity is poor on me, but not tragic.
Overall? 10/10 scent, 6/10 perfume as a whole.

    Type:✨
    A vanilla/powdery/floral/sweet/musky fragrance
It is best worn in Winter/Autumn and during the day, I use it for casual use.

    My Thoughts:✨
I think this perfume was a wasn’t worth it (luckily it was on for sale for $20, the real price is over $50!).
Its sillage is soft and the longevity is poor. I wear this to school and it only lasted a few months before running out. Why? Because I had to spray over 20 sprays so you could actually smell something of this cheap fragrance.
The bottle I will keep and showcase it in my wardrobe.
I overall think that the fragrance would have been worth it if the sillage and longevity were better.

This is an overpriced version of Bath and Body Works’ Vanilla Bean Noel. Save your money people!

I didn’t smell vanilla in this at all. It reminded me of bubble gum with a powdery finish. It only lasted a few minutes on my skin.

I tried this while trying mad love at chemist warehouse, the sales assistant just said ” Mad loves so much nicer, in my opinion than mad potion, see try it” and just sprayed it on my arm lol. She sprayed quite liberally and i got nothing after about 10 minutes, literally in the time it took me to walk around the store and have a look at some other fragrances it was completely gone.
The brief waft of fragrance that i did get from it was quite nice though, but hardly, HARDLY worth purchasing at all given its lasting time.
I was actually really happy that the girl did show me it as i would always be wondering..
I got the bottle of Mad potion though, that ones a definate win for me, i have bith Royal Revolution and Killer queen so I am a fan of her fragrances, but this one was a definate flop

Got a 1.7 ounce bottle of this dirt-cheap.
Not my typical/everyday fragrance, but I do like a “fun” fragrance now and then, and this fits that bill. A little vanilla, but not too heavy on the vanilla. A little fruity, but not too fruity. A little gourmand, but not enough to classify this as gourmand. And a little sweet, but not sickeningly sweet. A FUN, light-hearted fragrance. I saw someone mention a boozy/vodka note about this, and I do agree, there is a slight booziness to this, sort of like, I don’t know, peach schnapps, maybe..? The fruitiness I pick up here is not apple, but more like peach, so that is why I think there seems a slight peach schnapps smell to this. In looking at the reviews, this one varies a good deal from skin to skin, it seems people either really like this, or really dislike this. I do not dislike this, but..I can’t quite hit the like button. It is fun, a little different, and a borderline like. A fun fruity lighthearted scent. I get about 3 to 4 hours wear-time. Oh and the bottle is cute and fun, if a little youngish-looking.
Sometimes life does not always need a rose-scented fragrance or heavy floral or candy bomb smell, but something fun..and this is fun. I would say, if anything, this reminds me more along the lines of a Bath and Body Works fragrance mist (but with better sillage and longevity) than any of the fragrances listed here. Happy to have this little cutie in my collection, even if just “for now”…:)

I should have paid attention to fragranticans opinion on it’s similar perfume.Katy Perry mad potion and body fantasies signature vanilla are more than 90% similar. It’s both a good news and a bad news for me.the good news is that I love BF signature vanilla.it’s a bad news because I already have signature vanilla and I bought a huge(236 mil bottle)for 8$ while I paid 38$ for my 100mil bottle of mad potion!so it’s almost 10 times more expensive while the only differences I can feel are:
1.their bottle! I’m one of those guys that bottle matters a lot for me.I can’t resist a gorgeous or unique bottle but I’m not fond of mad potion’s bottle.if it was a kitten bottle I had to have it.even if it’s bottle was similar to killer queen line,I’d like it more.all in all not a bad packaging, definitely way better than body fantasies signature vanilla bottle.mad potion’s bottle looks childish and like potion bottles in cartoons.but it’s easy to hold in hand and I like it’s purple liquid and that I can see how much is left.I usually dislike touching frosted bottles but this is one of the exceptions which doesn’t bother me.if I want to rate mad potion’s box and bottle I’d give it 3 out of 5
2.the overall scent is very similar to signature vanilla as mentioned before.they both have apple in their pyramid which I can’t detect in any of these two.both smell like vanilla cotton candy.fluffy, powdery, sweet and simple and a hint of musk.
mad potion opens so much alcohol that I can’t smell it closely in it’s first two minutes.but soon alcohol fades away and vanilla shows up.this stage is common between both fragrances, maybe the only difference is that soft touch of florals is more noticeable in mad potion(still very very light)and that mad potion is very faint that I feel I have applied a mixture of water, sugar and alcohol while wearing vanilla signature is like sleeping on a cloud of vanilla cotton candy
what lingers on skin for long hours in vinalla signature is a soft musky vanilla.smooth,clean,yummy,marshmallowy,sensual.It’s oh so pretty.but in mad potion what lingers on skin after about 40 minutes is NOThING!!
Longevity isn’t usually a problem for me as I’m ok with reapplying perfumes, what I really care about is sillage and unfortunately madpotion is weak in both cases.so weak.I can only smell it for half an hour and it’s if I stick my nose to the exact place I sprayed it
So I agree that mad potion and vanilla signature are similar but believe me the latter is hundred times better.do yourself a favor and buy signature vanilla of body fantasies instead which comes in huge bottles and is super cheap.lasts long and has great sillage and dries down to a heavenly vanilla scent
If I go back in time I would never ever do this blindbuy.I have four other katy perry perfumes(meow, purr, killer queen, royal revolution)all were very successful blindbuys but mad potion didn’t worth buying for me though it doesn’t smell bad.
So I’m a loyal vanilla lover,I also love musk and powdery scents.I love collecting celebrity perfumes and I’m a fan of Katy Perry perfumes still mad potion is a no-no and a huge disappointment for me
    Edit:
It’s two months later,I gave mad potion another go and still it’s a NO for me.it lasts one or two more hours and others can smell it on me for a while when I douse myself in it.I mean more than twenty sprays.but it opens as alcohol-vanilla,continues as plain, softly powdered vanilla and dries down to cheap, plastic vanilla.
Still I’d love to try madlove but unfortunately it hasn’t reached here yet

No joke, when I sprayed this on a strip at Kohl’s today my immediate thought was ‘VODKA????’ It smells like 80 proof potato juice! I was really curious about what the notes are because I didn’t have my phone on me when I tested it and I’m surprised this has anything other than floor cleaner in it. I get no vanilla or warmth from this. I know there’s a low bar for celeb fragrances but this was just bad…
I might revisit when I muster the courage to put it on my skin.

I perceive this like a drunk person would smell(not in a bad way), its really boozy, but kinda interesting, too bad that even if its strong is short lasting.
I don’t think its generic, like pink sugar. To be honest, the beginning reminds me of Jeu d’Amour l’Elixir Kenzo, not that is similar, just my nose makes a shadow of correlation with it.

This is a lot of vanilla. If you’re a fan of sweet fragrances you’ll probably like Mad potion, but don’t expect something interesting. On me the longevity was less than 1 hour unfortunately.

So iv had this for a long time and although it fits into the kind of perfumes i like-mostly gourmands, theres something that i couldnt put my finger on that was giving me a headache. I sprayed and sniffed this many a times whilst reading through the notes on here and i realised it must be the musk that i couldnt get over. Gutted that i cant really wear it, as it totally fits my perfume collection but alas iv resigned it to the back of my perfume wardrobe.

If you like straight up vanilla scents, then you will like this. Can’t complain with the £11.95 price tag for 100ml. This is more of a sweet buttercream type vanilla, like a Yankee candle vanilla frosting type scent.
I do prefer the mad love flanker of this although this is still really nice.
I love all of Katy’s fragrances and I own most of them. If you want a bakery sweet vanilla scent then this is for you.

Oh Katy! I love your perfumes but this one….NO!! It smells like nothing, absolutely nothing! I was so disappointed by this because I love Perry’s scents. Oh well, I will still buy her products, just not this one ever again.

If you’re new to fragrance like me, I would heavily recommend this. Maybe it’s just the bottle I have (purchased in a pack with Mad Love at Walmart), but at first, when I sprayed this, the sillage was incredibly soft, and I could barely smell a thing. As I’ve sprayed more of it, the scent has started to come out of its shell, and I love it; I don’t have to spray as much anymore to get the full effect. I would definitely advise people to not write off this fragrance’s sillage right away. To me, it’s very comforting and warmly sweet, and if you love vanilla, you’re sure to love this!

  18. :

    3 out of 5

A perfume that’s start out as quite fruity, the strawberries are the first note I detect. As it dries down it becomes very faint and marshmallowy. It’s a very soft and sweet fragrance and I love it! Sadly it only clings to the skin but perhaps layering it with a lotion may help.
Not a Katy fan despite having her basic perfume collection but I’ll give her credit for picking great scents.
Not a fan of the potion designs. How on earth did it go from pretty diamonds and cats to something this basic?! The bottle looks a lot like a toy and in this case matches the lack of longevity in this fragrance.

  19. :

    5 out of 5

I love this perfume and love wearing it, however, it has very low sillage and longevity which is really annoying. it can come with a strong smell of alcohol but wait a minute or 2 and it will settle quite nicely on my skin.
I also use this to give my bed a soft sweetness, I can sleep with this on easily and does not affect my hayfever which can be a real problem with a lot of perfumes for me.
very vanilla, soft and musky. nice for wearing indoors during Autumn. also, i really love the bottle, a special little potion makes it feel more magical.
Overall not a very sophisticated scent but nice and gentle, suitable for young carefree women who want to slowly adjust to using perfume and don’t want to overpower.
I DO LOVE THIS THOUGH! i have gone through 2 100ml bottles of this, and you will too if you buy it as you do need to reapply more often.

Katy Perry’s Mad Potion is either a love it or a hate it. Rather than being a sweet fruity floral like her well-received Killer Queen and Purr, Mad Potion is a sweet musky fragrance.
Many celebrities as of late are adding a heavy musk accord to their fragrances. Justin Bieber’s Someday and Nick Minaj’s Pink Friday are just a few examples. Musky celebrity scents are in my opinion the most polarising as they’ll either appeal or repel.
Mad Potion is a vanilla musk that often smells chocolatey to my nose, not unlike a more synthetic version of the now discontinued Aquolina Chocolovers. Unfortunately it’s fairly linear from start to finish and not great in regards to its longevity.
Katy Perry would have been far better off making Mad Potion a sugary fruity floral, as that’s a genre she tends to do reasonably well. Mad Potion is admittedly my least favourite from Katy Perry’s range. It’s a shame actually as I don’t mind the packaging and the quirky, Cabaret-inspired advert.
If seeking a fragrance that resembles musk lollies, Mad Potion is one to try. However if you’re anything like me and prefer to avoid synthetic musks like the plague skip this fragrance entirely.

Katy Perry comes up with yet another winner! Vanilla lovers-you NEED to try this. Ok, first off, I don’t get any plastic notes in this at all, it’s compared to VS Vanilla Lace which on me is the epitome of burning plastic, but Mad Potion is a smooth, creamy, sweet, and realistic vanilla. On me it smells much more like Indult Tihota or Outremer Vanille (minus the cotton candy, thank god) than any of the other perfumes it’s supposed to smell similar to. In fact, I’d go as far as to say that it’s the closest cheap dupe for Tihota I’ve tried! It’s awesome because I love Tihota, but it’s honestly so linear that I can’t really fathom paying $200 for it until I’m rich 😉 This is actually more complex! It’s still pretty straightforward, don’t get me wrong (I get vanilla, musk, and orchid and that’s pretty much it, there are some other subtle nuances but it’s all about the vanilla). I’m totally in love with the bottle and name too, the concept of it being a potion is so appealing to me because as a little girl I saw perfumes as magic potions, everything about MP is so magical and whimsical. I really don’t get all the hate for this, it’s wonderful!

This is a very quiet and comforting vanilla, that sits very close to the skin. I use it as a home frag, as it is too weak to wear it outdoors. I like it. Still, I agree, that there is too much alcohol in the opening and this can be annoying.

  23. :

    4 out of 5

mmm what to say… i like Katy Perry as a singer but let’s talk ’bout my perception of this perfume: at the begginiing smells like barbe a papá (cotton candy or sugar cotton candy). After these seconds, something medicinal stay in the air. Yes, is sweet. I can’t smell apple and jasmine.

  24. :

    3 out of 5

Vanilla! Lots of vanilla. This note overwelms all others. This perfume smells like candles or cheap diffuser oil on my skin. I don’t like it but I have to say it’s long lasting. I could notice the amber and musk after ten hours.

  25. :

    5 out of 5

I realize that this is a simple vanilla scent, with a slight chocolate accord, with not much else going on. But I must say, that’s why I love it so much! So simple, yet so comforting! It is a skin scent,so it does not project as much as I would like it to. But,the price point is fantastic! Since the price has come down,I was able to score a big bottle at a very reasonable price. I actually paid less for my 3.4 oz. that I bought last week, than what I paid for the small gift set when it first came out.
At first I thought the bottle was tacky, but now I see the bottle as whimsical! Awesome frosted bottle, purple juice, and I love the whole idea of this being a potion! So yes, this has been done to death, but it sure makes me feel happy! Yeah,KATY!

  26. :

    5 out of 5

I love this fragrance!!! It reminds me of a watered down version of angel which is appropriate to wear to the work place without offending anyone.
If you love sweet vanilla I recommend this fragrance it is inexpensive but you must spray a lot of sprays and it will last much longer. It will last on my skin and clothes 6+ hours with multiple sprays.

  27. :

    5 out of 5

First I want to say that I like it, it’s a nice vanilla with an orchid accord, I love vanilla fragrances what’s not to like? There is nothing wrong with it. I get no hairspray or plastic or anything offensive at all. It is sweet but not overly so. It lasts a decent amount of time on me, and it’s inexpensive (bonus!). I’d also like to say that it’s not anything novel. It’s very much like BBW Vanilla Bean Noel, VS Vanilla Lace, etc. of this type. So if you already have something like this, then you may not want to spend the money on it. But if not, this is a nice fragrance if you are a vanilla fragrance lover.

  28. :

    5 out of 5

Very weak, boozy vanilla scent. I got a set for cheap so I don’t feel too bad but am surprised Katy Perry put her name on this. She has other fragrances that have better longevity for sure. I only wear this before bed and spray freely.

  29. :

    3 out of 5

Straight up vanilla and musk. Won’t be out of place in a body spray aerosol can. Longevity is very poor. Very faint scent after 5 minutes. Someone has the gall of charging this 10 euros. 10 euros is too much. Come on Katy you could do better!

  30. :

    3 out of 5

I’m getting a soft, sweet, bourbon candy scent that’s rather delicious.
Longevity remains to be seen, but, so far it’s mixing well with my skin chemistry, as orientals are wont to do.

  31. :

    4 out of 5

This is straight up sugar vanilla on me; really cannot distinguish any other notes. Does not smell like actual perfume to me and I will never wear it “seriously” but, in all honesty, it is a very cozy and happy scent. Also lasts a surprisingly long time on my skin as well! Got a solid six/seven hours.

  32. :

All vanilla & alcohol. Hoping Mad Love is all that Mad Potion isn’t.

  33. :

    4 out of 5

While the notes to Mad Potion looked right up my alley, the bad reviews of this and Mad Love put me off both of the two for a long time. However, upon spotting Mad Potion in my drugstore, I decided to see if the bad reviews were justified and tried it out.
I will try out Mad Love after smelling this, it’s definitely a vanilla fragrance, it’s hard to pick out anything but. While it won’t stand out in your collection, it’s a casual perfume. If you want something fun and not at all serious, go for this one. It smells just a vanilla body spray and is perfect for colder months.

  34. :

I’ve decided to write another review as the first one was only the first impression. The last few times I’ve tried this one I have to agree with some of the comments here…this is just a bottle of alcohol denant with ‘ some’ vanilla to it. Does last almost nothing ( very disappointing). Even a copy that I have from Mademoiselle Chanel from Lidl is much better ( and lasts) longer! As well my two body mist from Hawaiian tropics does a much better job ( either silage and longevity) than this so called perfume, Mad Potion. I am sorry to compare but I really can’t find nothing good about Mad Potion. I got in my possession 2 bottles of Mad Love than is one of my favorite ( better silage, better scent and long lasting). I gonna stick with Mad Love instead. I shall delete my other review as feels a bit pointless after find out better about what mad love is really like.
Edit: I just got a third bottle of Mad Love to show how I appreciate much more this other one! Lol

  35. :

    3 out of 5

Yes, it’s childish. This is the olfactory equivalent of My Little Pony backpacks with a Spice Girls lollipop accord (I was born in 1990, go figure). It’s somewhat reminiscent of the drydown of Pink Sugar when the weird liquoricey note has faded.
If you look at the comments of any song that’s older than 10 years on Youtube (sometimes older than five years is enough), you will see a heap of people lamenting their existence and wishing to go back to the simpler times the song in question is associated with. Nostalgia, just like vengeance, tends to be bittersweet. This is all sweetness.

  36. :

    5 out of 5

I wish there was a “mah” rating because I don’t dislike this perfume. It’s perfectly non-offensive bland vanilla. It’s light and doesn’t last very long. If you like vanilla and you can buy it for less than Wild Madagascar Vanilla body spray at Bath & Body Works then get it, but it smells identical and probably costs more.

  37. :

I bought the Mad Potion perfume kit with the body lotion and shower gel. The perfume is a sweet vanilla soda mixed with vanilla syrup and vanilla sugar , while the body lotion and shower gel are more of a sweet vanilla milk. The longetivity is not very good , and only lasts for an hour and is a light soft scent. I like layering it with the shower gel and body lotion to make it last longer. It also works well layered with a vanilla body mist. The packaging is very pretty with the purple potion bottle and glitter cap. Overall , I think it is a lovely perfume and is perfect if you like sweet vanilla scents. I give this perfume 6.5 stars out of 10.

The scent doesn’t last too long but its very sweet and vanilla.

  39. :

I saw a 50ml bottle in Tk Maxx for £10 so blind bought it. The opening is very alcoholic but once that dissipates you are left with a very faint vanilla that barely lingers for 30mins. I don’t think it even qualifies as a skin scent! It smells like a watered down version of choco musk by Al Rehab (which i adore) but considering a roll on costs £2 on ebay and lasts all day, it’s rendered my purchase of mad potion somewhat redundant. Disappointing.

  40. :

    5 out of 5

This has a very unique gourmand bubblegum-vanilla scent is the best way I can think of describing it that I couldn’t see anyone who likes vanilla not liking it. It is a very comforting scent and I actually dont care for sweet perfumes but this is a different kind of sweet that isn’t sickening. I had purchased a bottle a couple months ago and I reach for it so often that I’m already almost out. I think the bottle is also cute like a little bottle of potion. My only drawback is it comes with a slight alcohol smell but once the perfume develops it’s lovely.

I’m a huge fan of vanilla and sweet perfumes which is Katy Perry’s speciality. I bought this without testing as it was a bargain in a January sale. I kept it ready to take on holiday and when I first sprayed it I was really disappointed. It’s way too sweet for me which is rare. It is one that’s definitely aimed at pre-teens and my 13 year old cousin loved it so it was not wasted.

  42. :

    4 out of 5

Smells very sweet and sensitive, more like a night time perfume in my opinion. But this is really a very nice fragrance as well as Killer Queen, Can’t wait for more of Katy’s fragrances!

  43. :

    4 out of 5

It was a blind buy for me. $25 usd for 100ml. I expected a lot to this perfume. That it will b like killer queens line. With a strong scents and very sexy. So i avail it. I was so excited to unboxed it when i go back home. I was amazed by the bottle. A frosted bottle with a purple fluid and purple cup and silver design. So i thought its a better scents because of the bottle and fluid. Then i spray it on my neck and wrist.. And im pretty disappointed! I cant smell anything! I try to sprayed it again. I just smelll a watery vanilla. I never thought it will b smell like tht.. Its so weak and so watery. Its not even good to call it eua de parfum. Ifs really weak. Yes i like the smell. But i wish its stronger one and have a good longevity and sillage. I need to sprayed it a lot. So i can smell the vanilla and musky scents.. This fragrance is for a child and not for mature people. I love the vanilla but i dnt love the watery scents on it.. Its like i put a vanilla liquid in a 1 gallon of water. I recommend this to a child and teen ager. The box is also made from a cheap soft cardboard..

This smells like vanilla bubblegum on me and I love it! It reminds me of the Body Fantasies mists Walmart sells. This is super girly. I got the matching lotion and it smells like funky bubblegum then it fades into vanilla.

  45. :

    5 out of 5

I had high hopes for this perfume based on the notes but this was by far the most awful perfume I’ve tried.
All I got when I sprayed it was an overpowering smell of rubbing alcohol, as if I’d opened a bottle and rubbed it all over myself. Even worse was the fact that I got absolutely no detectable perfume scent at all!! I tried the shower gel and lotion, still no scent in those either, and all from the same pack.
Bottle went right back to the store. I basically bought an expensive bottle of alcohol? Awful.

  46. :

    4 out of 5

Bought this in a gift set on clearance at Walmart. I used the shower gel, lotion and the perfume. This is pretty close to the skin. It smells like a modernized Vanilla Musk. It’s pretty but it doesn’t have the power I like in a fragrance. I mean I’m wearing the lotion AND the perfume and the only way I can smell is to REALLY sniff my arm. So people looking for a great low silage skin scent, this one is for you.

I wear this when I want comfort, my spirits to be lifted, and good memories to come flooding to me. I wore it during a conference to all the social activities I enjoyed because of someone in particular being present. I wore it on an exhausting plane trip of 3 flights home while listening to the same song over and over again for some 13 hours or more, thinking of my crush. Good memories are tied to it. I wear other perfumes but when I need one I can count on to be there for me, I wear this.

  48. :

    3 out of 5

I love this it is just so comforting. It is a thick foggy vanilla but i love it. I know it is childish but i just dont care. Whenever i wear it and hug someone to say hello or goodbye they say you smell nice they are very surprised to hear its katy perry someone said they thought it was a cream i was wearing or shampoo or something they were not sure if it was perfume. If i spray this in my hair i get little wafts of it all the time i am surprised so many people think it is boring.
I cannot stand the bottle i undersrand the style it is but that just isnt for me but if you like the style it is quite sturdy and sprays nicely i wish she had stuck to the diamond shaped bottles dont think she is going back to those by the looks of things i think she has moved on from the killer queen theme and the cats.

Mad Potion reminds me of Prada Candy! It’s very gourmand sweet and smells like rich chocolaty vanilla musk with a bit of caramel. I have Prada Candy, but will probably buy Mad Potion instead when I run out of it.

  50. :

    5 out of 5

I like the scent, and wear the scent if I’m just hanging out at home or going to work.
But in all honestly, the bottle is hideous, and it does not sit with my other perfumes because it’s just not a nice look.
    7/10.

  51. :

This perfume ain’t too bad for everyday wear. It’s a shame though that the longevity isn’t that great but it’s good enough for me to wear casually. It kinda reminds me of beach vibes for some reason which is good 🙂

I smell this every day on a child in my class! She must be a big Katy Perry fan. I actually assumed it was a scented hairspray until I tested this at a Kmart on a whim. It’s the sickly sweet cloud I smell every day surrounding this kid. It is very, very, very candy sweet, vanillary, and very, very strong. So maybe she oversprays?
Longetivity and sillage is also good. I can smell it just as loud at 2 as it was at 9am. Candy, vanilla syrup, way over-sugared vanilla to the point of being kind of unpleasant, at least to me.
Update: I smell this so much (daily) that it has grown on me and I get more of a powdery and less candied aspect of this.

Quite nice for a celebrity fragrance! Picked it up at a pharmacy for only $24.95, liked it because to me it has similar notes to Britney Spears – In Control (Curious) which is another celebrity fragrance I’m partial to. I’d say if you like that Britney one then check this out.
Not usually into celeb fragrances, as I find them generic and watermelon-scented but those 2 definitely grab me.

I can spray half of this bottle, and within a second, the smell is non-existent. I can barely get a feel for what it smells like cause it has such poor longevity! When you first spray it, there’s this overwhelming alcohol smell– ultimately drying down to a very alcohol/plastic vanilla apple. This would be more appropriately sold at the disney store, or at the dollar store in the kid’s section. I really hate to knock a perfume so bad, but this is kinda sad 🙁 I wonder if this was meant for kids tho? Young teens? I see a lot of people raving about the bottle– yeah, i don’t see the appeal. I can typically roll with some pretty tacky bottles, but this one is too much for me to handle. I think if this had a nicer bottle, we wouldn’t be so automatically biased toward the perfume. We might of made excuses for it, or maybe it wouldn’t have been predisposed to such harsh judgement. But basing off first impression of the bottle, and then the scent itself.. all together it’s just… Bad. I could say it’s a kid’s perfume– but even kids perfumes are nicer and longer lasting than this. Vanilla is my favorite note–I figured this would be a definite like. It even smelled good at Kohl’s –guess I was wrong. If you are craving a Katy Perry perfume with heavy vanilla, stick with Meow. It’s beautiful, the bottle so cute and it’s a true vanilla bomb.

why there are so many people disliking this scent?
looking at the fragrance notes of this perfume it smells like pure vanilla
the bottle look very cool and well design
the box is so simple and cool

I like this scent but at the same time, it is a little disappointing. It smells nice but the fragrance has no depth or further development, and it doesn’t last very long even when I use the matching lotion.

I bought this last summer but didn’t use it until a few days ago (I’d been busy with my signature lavender scent. But I decided to remember why I liked it a few months ago and I’ve been binging on it for a week now. Spraying at least 3 times a day. The longevity is ok, but I want to be smelling it continously, so I keep putting on more. Sillage is not strong, but it’s ok. Enough for my fragrance personality to show, but not enough to choke people, especially since my tastes are a bit unusual.
I hear the strongest note is vanilla, but I don’t feel vanilla at all with this one. Burned sugar, yes, but not vanilla. It also makes me feel warm, it reminds me of heat. I can tell it’s going to be one of my all time favorites.
A friend says it smells like a very rich, dense, oversweet chocolate cake to her. Guess sweet scents are not very much liked.

A very cute perfume. I love it. It’s soft and comforting, and very gentle. I think it’s a lovely perfume. And I adore the bottle and the colour.

I haven’t tried it on my skin but in the bottle it slells almost exactly like Pink Sugar

I LOVE Mad Potion. It’s such a gorgeous delight of a perfume. Everything about it is gorgeous – the bottle (fabulous!), the colour, the lid, the box. Really wonderful. Very decorative and fun.
And the smell is absolutely lovely! Lasts very well, and envelopes me in a soft cloud of delicate sweetness for hours. Always picks me up, whether I need it or not. Sweet, but not cloying at all. Delicate, vanilla musk, with crisp apple, and soft and gentle flowers, and smooth amber. Soothing.
    Such a good perfume. Adorable.

Update: More appreciation with a few more wears. I’ve come to discover a real like for most KP fragrances. However, I’ll start my review with the one I prefer least .. Mad Potion. I get musk and vanilla but they aren’t married to my nose. We have musk. We have vanilla. The other notes don’t seem to harmonize these two major notes. Now, they don’t clash the musk and vanilla .. but I suggest you check out Britney Spears Intimate Fantasy for a scent where I think this idea works marvelous. IF uses genet instead of musk but there is a blend and wafting of the notes that just intoxicates and is quite dreamy. Also wish the bottle here with Mad Potion wasn’t so cheesy. It isn’t a wretched perfume by any means .. just sort of a miss for me. I recommend starting with another KP choice like either of her kittys or jeweled offerings.
