Description
Gently cooling herbs and spices envelop the skin. Just beyond them, a surprising flower blooms wide open, broadcasting sumptuous warmth. The spellbinding scents are carried along on a saffron veil that wraps around you lovingly, offering both protection and renewal.
When creating this perfume, I reached for the essences that felt like true balms for the heart. At center is a gorgeous floral accord recalling Magnolia blossoms: dreamy sweetness, striking tart, creamy softness. Saffron weaves throughout; its aromatherapy benefits have been cherished since ancient times: heart opening, uplifting, meditative, and aphrodisiac – including famously, at Cleopatra’s court.
Notes include: Violet, Saffron, Herbs, Tuberose, Boronia, Sustainable Sandalwood, Soft Resins and Smoke. Made with infused Hawaiian Tuberose blossoms. The nose behind this fragrance is Irina Adam.

A quite stormy opening, this perfume opens with a real gust of dry, spicy saffron! It’s beautiful and rich, and highly redolent of supple, spiced, buttery, leather. There’s a light smokiness that offers an exotic support to the spicy saffron, like the aftermath of a dust storm, it lingers in the air creating a smoky haze. After the squall of the saffron dies down a heady, intoxicating tuberose, narcotic and sweet with creamy, floral notes offers a balmy, serene haven from the storm. The lull between the shifting atmospheres, the tuberose is hypnotic, and magnolia a dreamy, barely perceptible state. As the skies clear after the storm, light resins and soft sandalwood offer a warmth, a new hope after the dusty tempest, which is not easily forgotten; the saffron projects as a pervasive, aromatic reminder that the squall will come again.
This is an utterly beautiful creation, bold, with contrasting volatility, a very worthy purchase!

Upon application, some notes react to suggest a definitive fig-like aroma. Perhaps it’s the tuberose and the saffron, due to the sweetness. I was hoping for lusty, dry saffron that didn’t come off smelling like a cube of Turkish Delight. Within 30-40 minutes, it’s gone. No sillage. One hour later, I detect a waxy odor, like paraffin just in the stages of setting up at the base of a candle wick. Still looking for the perfect saffron… Sigh.
