Description

Shakira is launching her new fragrance S Shakira in cooperation with Puig Beauty and Fashion Group. The fragrance was promoted in Spain on June 22nd 2010 and announced as an oriental-floral perfume with accentuated aromas of fresh and woody notes.

Perfume S by popular Shakira is as melodic and harmonious as her music. The new accords include essences of amber, benzoin, vanilla, fresh wood and Sambac jasmine.

“Just like a song, the perfume is composed of various, individual notes which make harmony“– said Shakira to the press.

Flacon of the new fragrance S by Shakira is created of high quality glass and its shape reminds us of belly dancer’s body. Her curves watched from various corners suggest a feeling of movements and fluidity. Glass of the flacon is transparent and its liquid is golden yellow.

This is intoxicating to me, I haven`t smelled another perfume with a similar scent T.T

This is my favorite celebrity fragrance. It’s cozy, delicate, casual and very pretty. It isn’t really similar to Victoria’s Secret Dream Angels Heavenly but it has the same vibe. Soft, feminine, warm.

I bought it about a year ago, used barely five mils and finally decided to put this one and Shakira S Floral in my swap list
I have lots of other jasmine-vanilla perfumes and decided to keep only the ones I love (for example Ted Lapidus White Soul Diamonds & Gold is one of my most favorite ones,Alien essence absolue,Dior Addict and Givenchy Ange ou demon le parfum accord illicit and Police Sinner are some others)
I was almost giving it away but something made me to give it a last chance, the result was taking it out of my swap list while it’s pink sister must stay there
S by Shakira is definitely pleasant.it’s simple, easy to wear and sophisticated enough for adults.I can feel the sweetness of vanilla and warmness of amber and benzoin and creamy undertone of sandalwood, but it’s not a gourmand or a balsamic or woody scent, not on me.it’s a very perfumey one so sometimes I can’t think of it’s single notes.the overall scent is feminine, not very sweet and while being simple,it find it somehow charming and sensual.it soon settles down to a soft, warm and powdery scent,a combination of vanilla, amber and some jasmine and sandalwood which lasts +6 hours on my skin, but is a skinscent in most of it’s life.it can make a very good office perfume, also good for a lot of other situations
I can’t say that I love it but I definitely like it and it deserves to have a place in my collection.it’s going to be a keeper while I don’t wanna smell it’s girly, sugar+fake berries sister even once more

I’ve worn this perhaps a dozen times, and still I don’t know what to make of it. I’m not sure if I become anosmic to it or if it’s a quality of the perfume itself, but it essentially disappears once the particles touch my clothes, no matter how much I spray.
What I *can* make out is a warm, vague musky-powdery sweetness, not cloying at all, but smooth and soft and subtle to a fault. I don’t get any jasmine at all. It reminds me of Cashmere Mist; impossible to offend but with little personality. This is, in a word, “pleasant”
Sadly, it does not go beyond that.

This is what I hoped Paco Rabanne’s Olympea would be.
I can’t tolerate cashmere wood, and it’s thankfully absent in this composition.
This is a pure, clean, green jasmine mixed with a salty vanilla, which plays off the light woods and amber well. It is long-lasting, and easily lasts more than half the day, but probably longer.
I love salt in perfumes and that’s what originally drew me to Olympea. This doesn’t have a salt note specifically, but as mentioned before, the vanilla is salty, as are the benzoin and amber.
It is sweet, but not at all edible. It could be beachy, but right now the greenness is at the forefront, and it seems completely appropriate for the beginning of spring.

Love this juice. It reminds me of the Jordache scent from way back. Every time I put it on I’m blasted back to the 80s. Its powdey, vanilla, musk and jasmine. Delightful for falls fuzzy sweaters and Jordache jeans.

I feel like shakira gets better with time just like her scents, they all get better and better each release and well since this is her first one…its not too great, its not a dislike but not a like either. Dance is the richer, fruitier version of this and wild elixir is the spicier version. Also the notes here are wrong. The actual notes are listed on her website
Here are the notes from sephora brazil….
Shakira’s light is filled with energy, sensuality and good vibes. It reflects its essence. Oriental transparent, S by Shakira features notes of citrus from Italy, peach and passion fruit, which provide an exotic freshness, reflecting the spontaneity of Shakira. Jasmine Sambac, gardenia and cinnamon express your femininity and deliver quality and transparency to the fragrance. Sandalwood, vanilla, musk notes and amber chords represent the side its exotic side.

Smells similar to Cashmere by Donna Karen Mist but a synthetic version of it.

This is my daughters signature scent, who’s name just happens to be shakira. Its not my favourite, I think it’s a more mature scent and also very powdery.

  11. :

    5 out of 5

At first spritz, it’s over ripe bananas…a little later, it’s vanilla banana pudding. Not for ladies who like strong, classic fragrances.
It’s the one you put in your bathroom for guests to help themselves because you know you’ll never use it again.
This is my second celebrity fragrance, the first being a Liz Taylor…and I am now done…lesson learnt. I am sure they are gorgeous on other ladies, but I am not so lucky.

Not bad but does not attract me too much. A nice-ish generic floral vanilla which is not “me”. It also disappears very fast on my skin.

Incredibly sexy perfume. It has a really seductive bottle that reminds me of female breast, the color of the perfume is golden suggesting luxury and the aroma itself is utterly feminine. Sweet but not too overwhelming and clean, promising pure love.
I got it based on reviews and just ordered another bottle.

  14. :

Just got this in the mail today. It’s a very pretty perfume! If I smelled it on anyone else I WOULD NOT assume that it’s a celebrity fragrance. To me, it smells more high end and dare I say “classy”? 🙂 Typically to me celebrity fragrances are heavy on a particular note and usually sweet. They come on strong and have no staying power. This is a very well done perfume, in my opinion. I can’t really smell one particular note. It smells some what powdery and comforting not at all overwhelming or annoying.
If you like enveloping comforting fragrances, you should definitely give this one a try!

*Price: 20 – 30 $ for a full size. Not an extremely cheap perfume, but not too expensive at all.
*Bottle: I personally consider it is a beautiful bottle resembling Aladdin’s magic lamp. I have no problem with the stopper, I consider it looks beautiful, but it makes an annoying sound everytime it hits with the bottle, which is all the time.
*Smell: In the first minutes it casts a noticeable scent of citrics, peach and passion fruit, which are notes that are not listed here, but they are in the perfume, and you can definitely feel them. They quickly fade away and jasmine appears. Jasmine is very noticeable and it gives a sort of “clean” scent to it, a little bit like soap or a floral body lotion. I can also feel a light trace of the cinnamon, making the perfume a little spicey, but you really need to smell it closely to feel it, it’s almost imperceptible. Then, it develops into an amazing oriental vanilla. I can understand why some people say it smells like cookies or stuff like that, but for me, this is definitely not a gourmand vanilla, its sexier than that, not a regular vanilla from Victoria’s Secret or Bath and Body works. Vanilla and benzoin (which smells kind of like vanilla too) compete on a par with jasmine, even though the vanilla is a little more noticeable, but the jasmine breaks the sweetness of it, and that’s something that makes it different from other vanilla perfumes. Either way, it is a sweet perfume. Amber is also present, giving a sort of “heat” vibe to the perfume, as if it were embracing you. And finally, sandalwood, GOD, this is the most delicious note ever, it provides a powder scent. I have read comments in other websites about this perfume smelling like baby powder, and yes, it does, but not in an unpleasent and overwhealming way, it’s more like a mixture of body lotion or some sort of soap, vanilla and baby powder. Delicious and comforting.
*Ocassion: Even though it has a mixture of notes as for being a winter or fall perfume, it’s soft enough for being perfectly suitable in summer and spring. I personally like to wear this for work because it’s not too casual, not too formal, neither childish nor classic.
*Age range: 15 – 110 (haha, yes). It’s not too juvenile, not too mature, simply suitable for all ages.
*Lasting power: long lasting, 12 hours on skin (timed). It lasts way more on clothes.
*Sillage: weak, 1 hour top. Then, it stays close to the skin. This can turn out into a negative or positive thing, depending on what you’re looking for. If you want a killing perfume, something to blow people away, this is not for you, but if you want something for the daily basis, something not too strong and intoxicating, something that guarantees that you’re not going to sofocate yourself or anybody else with your smell, this is perfect. It is not a compliment getter, but it’s with this one that I received the best compliment of all times.

i love S by shakira. It smellls powdery and clean. i love to put it on after my morning shower it is so uplifting. It smells like a powder floral vanilla. I spray warm vanilla sugar over it and ten S over it again and it smells like heaven! it really does. also it reminds me of lotion. like how certain lotions smell super clean and creamy.

  17. :

I love shakira I love the scent I love the bottle, but not the bottle stopper its annoying I removed it, the scent is nice i can smell the jasmine thats the strongest scent and sandalwood too.. overall I like the perfume but I dont love it I’m not decided on that yet.

  18. :

    3 out of 5

I actually like this very much but it has zero lasting power on me. Maybe because I bought a tester? Or maybe it just doesn’t stick around, considering the price point. It’s a lovely floral vanilla, nothing ground-breaking but for the price quite decent. I just wish it lasted longer! 🙁

  19. :

    5 out of 5

It’s the third time that I go to a perfume shop, pick up the tester of S by shakira and spray it on back of my hand, smell it with a smile and think that it smells very pleasant, but this pleasant smell doesn’t compel me to buy a bottle of it
Only the bigger size bottle is available here and it costs 36$ and everytime I want to buy this one which I really like,I remember the others which I love so it doesn’t come further than my want list.I wish that I had bought this one instead of floral version which isn’t really my type but unfortunately I don’t have any time machine
S by shakira is a very pleasant vanilla-jasmine scent with enough sandalwood, amber and benzoin to ground it and add depth, sophistication and warmness.it’s very well blended so it doesn’t shout jasmine or vanilla,it’s sweetness isn’t intense or sharp and it’s not a childish gourmand.I find it easy to like and very easy to wear.actually I can’t think of any situation that it may be out of place.can make a great mild to cold weather daily fragrance and Longevity and projection, while not being very good, are acceptable for it’s price..it has a soft and warm powdery vanilla, amber sitting on creamyness of sandalwood and jasmine which is very inviting and feminine
It kind of reminds me ungaro L’Amour fou elixir, just a little softer and minus it’s pear note
I think the only downside is about lacking a wow factor.something that can make it memorable.however it’s sometimes good to smell lovely without grabbing others attention
Afterall I think I’d buy it.maybe the next time
Edit:tested it side by side with Givenchy ange out demon le parfum accord illicit which is a while that I want with all my heart.they’re not dupes but they share a lot.shakira s is like a more vanilla, less jasmine and simpler version
Now I think that I need a bottle of shakira s

I bought this along with Shakira’s S Eau Florale while in search of the perfect warm winter scent to wear with scarves and boots on a rainy day – basically, when fruits and candy won’t do.
The initial top note smells like pure jasmine. I’m not in love with it but it fades away into a woody floral note that’s dark and sexy. I can smell the amber and the balsamic notes – honestly not as much vanilla as I would have liked it to have.
It’s a gorgeous fragrance but not what I was looking for – I’ll probably give this to a friend as it’s a little mature for me. Really quite impressive for a celebrity fragrance though.

Blind Buy, haven’t tried on skin yet, but on paper was meh, did not last. Will update after skin trial, but hey $3 for 1.7 ounces on Ebay, can’t beat that! Was hoping for a stronger scent!

Very surprised at this perfume. Not a huge fan of celebrity scents, but this one is really good. I don’t get the vanilla everyone else seems to be getting, this is a fruity floral on me. Longevity is pretty good also. Just had to give credit where credit is due. Very surprised. Worth a shot everyone!

What a little GEM! I can only say good things about this perfume! It’s creamy sandalwood, sweetly smooth vanilla, amber and benzoin…and a soft jasmine opening – it’s just very beautiful – and I feel so sophisticated wearing it! This is PERFECT for Fall, but it’d be a nice daytime Winter, Spring and Summer night fragrance. I just adore it 🙂

I was gifted with this perfume a few years ago. When I smelled it, it seemed to me a very common smell. It was very similar as the smell of sunscreen, it smells like something from the beach. I would never thought back then to have it again once the bottle was emptied. Boy was I wrong. Even though I still think it’s nothing really special, I have the need to have it. It’s one of those scents that are a must-have in the wardrobe; it’s inexpensive and basic, for those days you don’t want complications because it’s inoffensive, but you still want to smell good. It’s very easy to like it.

It took me really a long time to start appreciating this. at first i was thinking it was too simple,a bit boring, but i changed my mind. The simplicity of it is actually a positive thing. it makes it elegant, joyful, relaxing. and it smells way expensiver than it really is.
cons: does not project good and does not last long.

Another blind buy bought on positive reviews from here. Another inexpensive successful purchase. Is really quite lovely to my nose.
Initial sweet refreshing citrus, even though there are no citrus notes, then comes the vanilla, jasminy soft woodsy vibe all making for a harmonious journey to my olfactory land. S smells so inviting from the beginning of its winding oriental path, to staying on my skin ever so delicately. I am enjoying this scent and very glad I purchased it blind, a nice surprise.

  27. :

    5 out of 5

S by Shakira reminds me of YSL Manifesto, only not as intense.
The sandalwood and tonka seem the most prominent to me. There seems to be some other fresh note paired with the jasmine. The vanilla is quite light and isn’t cloying or gourmand.
S is quite a light and feminine perfume, not overly sweet, making it suitable for everyday use. I do like it, but I’ve come to realise that powdery/balsamic sandalwood is not a comfortable match for me, at least not when it’s so prominent in the mix. At the moment I’m 50/50 swap/keep. It may work better for me as we head on into autumn.

    This one is a favorite!!
For the past few years anytime I’d see a tester of this I had to use it but never got a bottle & idk why lol So finally over the weekend I bought a bottle!
Scent wise I pick up a light vanilla, musk & sandalwood with hints of jasmine……I put this on about 9hrs ago and I can still smell it!!

  29. :

    3 out of 5

I’m a gourmand freak, and Shakira’s scents are really cheap online. I hated Eau Florale… the “candy” and sweet reviews did not work on me… all I got was a strong floral mess.
I love the opening to S, very sweet and potent… and while this perfume has great potency, it dried down to a messy, cloying musky vanilla that actually made me feel queasy. Elixir worked better for me.
S may be better layered, I added a drop of Van Cleef & Arpels Oriens to my shirt and that helped.
This was just too basic and cloying. Bummer.

  30. :

I actually wear S by Shakira quite a bit and it’s fantastic!! I would say one of her best creations…it lasts all day long on me!!! I get the vanilla and jazmine, kind of Dior like indeed!!! Highly recommended!! It’s sexy!

I just noticed that those of us who blind bought this scent loved it. With no expectations or preconceived ideas about what the scent notes were, we really enjoy it.
***I came on to add that if I use baby oil [Johnson’s] after my shower in the morning, it prolongs the life of this perfume a HUGE amount. It went from 4-6 hours to over 12. Johnson’s Baby Oil has a pretty neutral scent, and I wish I could find out what the “fragrance” in that is, but either way, it did not change the scent of the perfume. I have a sneaking suspicion that the insanely over chlorinated water that we have in my town may be partly responsible for perfume’s changing on my skin, in addition to whatever my chemistry does. This was somewhat confirmed over the summer when I used a perfume after being in a pool that uses a salt-water filtration system. The scent was beautiful! I think the salt provided a barrier to or somehow neutralized all of the chlorine from my shower. Just thought some of my fellow Fragrantica reader’s might be interested in seeing if this helps the longevity of their ‘fumes, or neutralize the effects of chemicals in public water supplies. 🙂

So pretty! And well worth the $12 I paid for a 1oz gift set!
Opens with wood and jasmine and settles into a sweet Vanilla with a woody Base.
Kind of reminds me of YSL Manifesto in that the opening is quite different to how sweet and syrupy vanilla the perfume is once it settles.
Smells more expensive than the price tag I think this is a beautiful woody vanilla and I’m happy i blind bought it.

  33. :

    5 out of 5

After disliking Shakira S Eau Florale, this was a pleasant surprise.
Warm and sweet, vanilla-y but not excessively so. Seems to have some wood notes which please me. Will probably retry it and will add more details then.
Nothing groundbreaking, but comforting and seems done right. Possibly a nice smell to go to sleep in 🙂

Picked this one up at my local drug store on sale and so far I’m very pleased by the scent. Very warm, woody and soft but the lasting power isn’t very good. I may get 3-4 hours before it disappears. I tend to use this one for after showers at night before bed.

  35. :

Woody notes That blends with the skin. Makes me Think of Céline Dion Céline Dion.

    3 out of 5

I’m an oriental fragrance lover so checked this one out after reading the “light oriental” reviews on here.
While I agree that the lasting power is terrible and the bottle is adorable, I get NO oriental feeling from this at all. Smells to me like a standard light celebrity juice – a bit floral, a bit sweet, a bit vanillary. All in all a bit disappointing.
If you’re after a mass market oriental style fragrance I’d recommend Halle by Halle Berry over this one any day.

  37. :

    3 out of 5

S by Shakira is balmy, warm, and ambery. Thank you to a fellow Fragrantican for swapping me a small bottle of this. I loved it so much I bought the whole gift set. Athough it is somewhat sweet, there is a slight woody tone in this that separates it from most other sweet vanillas. I actually don’t get as much vanilla from this as I thought I would. I get more amber and sandalwood than vanilla. A warm, slightly sweet oriental, that dries down to a cozy skin scent. Love.

  38. :

balsamic in a very synthetic, cheap and incorrect way!!! not for me

  39. :

    3 out of 5

A pleasant fragrance, the first notes are very woody, almost masculine on me. After a while it becomes sweeter with the notes of vanilla and amber, and i can detect as well the freshness of jasmine. I could qualify this fragrance as a flowery vanilla.

  40. :

    4 out of 5

This isn’t as terrible as I expected from a shakira fragrance that’s not Eau Florale. It’s too soft for me (I Like strong fruity Florals), I only tried it from the bottle, but the next time I go to my grandma’s house I will give this a second chance…..

  41. :

    4 out of 5

Oh my gosh I Love this one!!! So sexy, soft, warm and just oozes sexy!! It was a blind buy based on the notes and I am in Love!! <3 🙂 I seriously think If a guy smelled this on a woman it might make him want to kiss her neck and whisper sweet nothings into her ear! 😉

  42. :

    5 out of 5

This surprised me. I was expecting it to be a little heavier. I really don’t get the woody, balsamic accords. It smells fruity to me. I really agree with another reviewer who said it reminds her of ysl’s manifesto. I swear I smell the black current that manifesto opens with. It’s a quieter version of manifesto, I actually like S better. The drydown of S has a slight soapiness in contrast to M’s powder. The longevity seems to be very good. Overall I have enjoyed wearing this today. I’m going to have to think about buying it though. My usual style is a little less sweet, more mature scent. I see a casual but stylish woman in her twenties wearing this. Very pretty.

  43. :

    It’s a pleasant surprise !
In my opinion it is not that generic ! I could swear there is a spicy note in there , and guess what , I have found out on a website that it has cinnamon ! And because of this, in my opinion, it canbe worn by both genders .
    Me likey ^^
Here’s what is said on Wikipedia about the notes : ” The top notes include citrus, peach, and passion fruit chord; the heart notes give a “spicy freshness” through the use of various flowers like gardenia and sambac jasmine, and cinnamon; the base notes consist of amber, musk, sandalwood and vanilla chord “

Perfume is an obsession, and a couple of years ago, I had to have this. It has stayed in my perfume wardrobe, and this year was purchased again. The scent changes with the season, and in the warmer months it smells much more like SJP NYC, right now it smells like vanilla, musk, and there’s a hint of floral, but for the life of me I can’t pinpoint it. It is soft, embracing, cozy. This is a very nice, subtle scent. It will not knock you out, and it stays with me for 4 to 6 hours depending on how dry my skin is. It is like Eau Floral, on the very end of the dry down. For a while, there were marshmallows floating around me, and now it has settled down to a really soft, warm, sweet musk. In this cold season, it is a nice, warm scent that doesn’t over power.

  45. :

I am on a blind-buy spree. This was one after success with Shakira Elixir.
Shakira S is a vanilla-amber scarf wound too tightly around my neck as jasmine’s gloved hand is smacking my cheeks and sandalwood, who is usually a good friend, is performing evil in my sinuses. Didn’t work for me. Sigh.

  46. :

    5 out of 5

When I originally tried this, I thought,”mmmm, warm, nutty, creamy coconut”; maybe it was the sweet vanilla. Now in cooler weather, the sweetness is evened out by the sandalwood and jasmine; it’s depth is triangular.
Oddly enough, the sample spray on the card reveals the sharp benzoin, but on my skin, there is no detection whatsoever; which is too bad since I think it adds a bit of anise or licorice to the sweet.
With as many scents on the market that possess similar notes, this one really hits a chord that separates it from many others.
Longevity isn’t stellar, but the sweetness lingers, which makes it nice for layering day into night.

I bought this perfume because it was on discount and it was really really cheap! I was surprised! it is a very pleasent sweet, oriental acquatic fragrance. I like wearing it on winter beacuse of the vanilla note and maybe i’am crazy but for me this perfume is like a watered down version of ysl manifesto! maybe because of the vanilla 🙂

  48. :

This is one of the worst perfumes I’ve come across. Maybe it’s my body chemistry, but it had an ammonia undertone to it. Even after it had been on me for a couple hours. It really made me a bit nauseas.

To me, it really like Christina Aguilera original. It’s smell like vanilla showel gel. It’s suitable for autumn. Yahh, it’s remind me too much about the first tour I go to Malaysia, the scent Malaysian using in their hotel smelled really like this

this perfume reminds me of manifesto by YSL very much! soft, balmy and a little powdery, delicious

Eh, I love Shakira and I absolute love the way she writes “S” it’s really cool looking.
However, this smells like a generic crappy chemical soup that’s over powering.
I could easily imagine someone in a mid-life crisis wearing this haha.
It’s just a very sickening smell, I mean, it’s not terrible but it’s just… chemically, very alcohol smelling.
In my opinion, sometimes you really do pay for quality and seeing as this stuff is barely 11$ you really are getting only 11$ worth out of this.
    I’d say 5 out of 10.

I purchased 2 – 1 fl. oz. S Shakira Perfumes bout 9 mos. ago. Have to say, this is one of my fav. fragrances. On a scale of 1 to 5, have to rate this one a 5. I personally wear this scent for work for the reason, it’s light & fresh & so it won’t offend others. I receive many compliments from co-workers when wearing this perfume. It’s a definitely a day-time fragrance & a Fall Season kind of scent, as well. I used up one of the perfume bottles & have one more left. 🙂 Once used up, I intend to repurchase this product.
P.S. I lov the amber, vanilla, the fresh wood & Sambac Jasmine notes.

  54. :

    4 out of 5

S by Shakira is a sweet, balmy fragrance. On my chemistry, the vanilla and amber are the most noticeable notes – I cannot feel any jasmine at all, though (actually none jasmine scents are powerful on my skin). This fragrance is nice to wear during fall and perhaps also spring for younger generation (20’s).
Unfortunately, on me both sillage and longevity are pretty week. This is the reason why I won’t buy this perfume in the future. However, the quality vs. price is rather fair.
Please, try this scent on your skin before purchasing a bottle. If it lasts, then it’s definitely a good buy.

I am really loving Shakira’s perfumes and this one is no exception! It is a fun, soft and delicious perfume! The drydown feels soapy to me which I also like. It is not super sweet, and I can detect vanilla and sandalwood the most which makes it smell creamy as well.It makes it feel like a clean scent which is also nice! 🙂

Me encanta!

This perfume is ok, Its worth buying if you can find it for cheap. It is very powdery on me and for some reason it smells like a hint of Lemon.. like a Lemon dipped in baby powder. its not memorable but it is not offensive. This is a very “Safe” perfume. It would make a Great stocking stuffer or random small gift. If you are a perfume collector or snob i would skip this one.

Something magical happens when this hits my skin….It transforms into a lush soft creamy jasmine and sandalwood sitting on a golden amber and vanilla base. It smells cuddly and adorable and almost furry. Now at first you think ‘yeah yeah a reserved vanilla floriental with barely any spice but then….OH! the dry down…it’s sexy musky amber with a tiny hint of vanilla and jasmine…I feel like a golden sexpot goddess, seriously!
It has moderate silage, I get gentle wafts of this pretty scent reaching my nose now and again reminding me that I am a gilded aphrodite.
I have a 50ml but I’m going to check the shop where I purchased it and see if I can get a back up.

I’m at crossroads with this perfume. I’m not sure if I love it entirely. It’s neither here nor there for me. Skakira’s Florale is great. I also prefer Elixir to this one. Although I no longer have it, it reminds of a lighter version of Sean John Unforgivable woman. I get floral with heavy amber; it’s not so much sweet as it is extremely creamy, and I believe can become a suffocating scent during the summer months. That being said, it is best reserved for cooler nights. The staying power is great, it’s an adult fragrance, and the warmth intensifies the sexy. If you like warm, full bodied florals, this is one for you. If you prefer sweeter, fresher scents, skip this one.

I really started liking this perfume just a moment I tried it today. I kept smelling it during the day and then I suddenly realized that I once had a perfume that was very much alike (but it lasted much longer:))
In my opinion it is very similar to Chopard’s Wish.

Unremarkable but pleasant fruity top notes of lemon and raspberry with hints of cassis quickly give way to a spare, slightly dissonant vanilla-amber drydown. This is the smell of a friendly shampoo, initialed by a beautiful and talented blonde who ceased making musical headlines years ago. I want the celebrity back, but you can keep her perfume.

I love this scent. However I will not buy another bottle because the scent does not last unless I douse myself in it. I feel like I have wasted my money. Does anyone know of a similar scent with better longevity?

This fragrance is the aromatic translation of shakira’s image. Though that can be a terrible thing. Kudos to the nose behind the scent, they’ve managed to make a fragrance that screams Shakira. As far as design synthesis goes, this perfume is almost perfect. You smell it and think “yes, this IS Shakira” and that’s no small feat.
All that being said, I really dislike this perfume. It’s too sweet and strong for me and, frankly, it smells cheap. Sort of what Shakira has become in the past few years. It would have been interesting to see what fragrance would have resulted from the same synthesis process in the 90’s when Shakira was a completely different kind of artist (I love her work from back then and what she was about). Still, I can’t stress enough how good this fragrance is designwise.

This scent is soft and subtle. Like spraying on a pretty sweater, or receiving a soft hug. It is light but warm, pretty and serious. Well balanced and inoffensive. The notes listed are pretty accurate. Balmy, moderately floral and resinous. This is a comfort scent.

Apparently I am on a celeb fragrance testing spree, and Shakira S is my most recent encounter.
Looking at the design of the flacon – the actual glass part is nice enough, but I think the gold matte metal looks tacky. It wouldn’t necessarily keep me from buying the fragrance if I enjoyed it enough, and being that the fragrance itself isn’t overly pricey I guess I couldn’t expect a whole lot of money/effort to go into the container…
Fragrance wise, I don’t find this one to be an overly seductive, original scent, but I do like it. It seems very simple to me, a basic vanilla-jasmine blend, not overly woody or complex. For the price, I think this is an enjoyable enough fragrance, and I think it would be a scent for daily use when you just want something simple and comforting.

S Shakira
