    Hi,
Please, can any one tell which known scent this frag looks like (despite Hugo by Hugo boss)?

I think knightz review is perfect so I am not going to elaborate on such a great description of the olfactory experience. When I wear this, everyone asks what I am wearing? They then where can I get it? They have never heard of the brand however they are shocked how expensive it is!

Rykiel Homme is a little known fragrance in the fragrance community however has a small following that swears by this fragrance.
Nose behind this is Jean Marie Santantoni. This will be my first review of a Jean Marie scent which intrigues me since his resume is pretty bare in the men’s game.
The idea behind Rykiel Homme (EDP) is a green scent that has a huge backbone of Styrax.
Upon smelling Rykiel Homme you are met with a very fresh and invigorating opening of greens and some excellent citruses mainly the Yuzu. The greens including the violets truly make this opening a solid one. You are met with some sweetness and a hint of spice to put everything together.
The drydown shows you much more depth including some of the opening notes that continue to push (mainly violets) with jasmine to continue the sweetness. The styrax is the star of the show imo which without it Rykiel Homme would be losing most of it’s appeal. The styrax which was mentioned in other reviews mentioned the incense like accord however I never smelt a smokey tinge at all in this scent, the styrax however gave me a spicy resinous appeal like tolu balsam, it gave me an idea between clove and labdanum.
Overall, Rykiel Homme is a solid release. I don’t think it will be heavily missed in the fragrance community (discontinued). It was truly a very pleasant surprise from a little known house.
Rykiel homme reminded me of Hugo by Hugo Boss (mint and greens), it’s best for Daytime and casual wear and I loved wearing it during the spring (because of the greens), fall and summer nights. It is work appropriate since it’s never pushed much on my skin, signature scent worthy yes but now being harder to find I’d pass on it.

another one of a kind i think; not for everyone; i used to wear this when launched to my country (1999-2000) as a late teen and worked good, bought an aftershave vapo also about 2oo5 but after some months the ingridients had seperated in the juice although it still smells good and close to original.. ( i still have some mls in it)
the whole essence is really clean / laundry, a kind of fresh yet somehow metallic and synthetic thung at first, can’t recognise any real notes, always feel it’s a neat blend. It’s more like the sence it smells quite elegant no matter what you actually wear.. Slightly unisex probably although tends more to masculin. Another cult favourite and sadly discontinued. Differences among available bottles?? In vision obviously.. in smell? not sure.. Unique!

I love this site and I never review any of my many colognes, but this one is worth every praise it can get.
Delicate and very unique, it is a cologne by a designer who has an impecable taste in clothes.
Citrusy, minty and with a fig leaf/cardamon backing.
    Casual, yet sophisticated.
    Lovely!

I loved it when it came out, used it a lot back then. It has that interesting contrast between citrus and vanilla, the “human” nutmeg in between and a great base which makes it “I’m not the man you think I am”. It slightly reminds me of Escape but this one is a far more sophisticated aromatic fougere.
So if you find it, grab it without any second thoughts. It’s a bargain in any way. And you’ll smell just beautiful!

i dont like a little more vanilla.i think it could be more watery jasmine.
it is very smiliar with Comme des Garcons 3 (without vanilla) .cdg 3 is more clear and powerfull than this.(and more expensive).
    5/4,00

Top notes are very green & fougere, but middle & base notes develop into a deep, spicy accord.Perfect for daytime wear.Great men’s fragrance.

I bought this scent when I could not afford Eau de Cartier and my mother called it “poor man’s” EdC…
It actually has some notes in common but I think it lasts longer (the EDP) than the EDT of Cartiers juice which my uncle continues to buy despite the fact it fades too quick…”But it’s Cartier” he says…give me Rykiel Homme.
The trilogy of heavenly citrus notes has sprigs of mint and cardamoms sweet smooth scent flavoring but not overpowering it. The cypress and violets’ woody green trail is warmed with subtle spices and a fresh fig leaf or two. The aromatic basenotes are the perfect ending to a sweet heady juice as the amber and resins envelope the woods while the vetiver draws near and it all settles down with a soft cloud of that mysterious tree resin styrax which is slightly incensy and a little bit rotted like rich forest dirt. What a juice…
    Sillage: slightly above average
Longevity: 4-6 hrs. depends on temp.
    Overall: 4.5/5
This is perfect with jeans and tee but it is also good with khakis and a cashmere hoody, rich and varied but not too high priced. The flacon is cute too and it’s sweet but never feminine…

What a pleasant surprise. I have just received my 125ml bottle of the EDP and I’m very happy.
It’s hard to detect the individual notes described above, as it seems so well blended. To my nose I can smell a definite minty floral accord, but not a strong mint. It almost smells like the mint is an afterthought.
I imagine that this could be worn just as easily with a suit and tie, as it could very casually with jeans and a jumper.
This smells so much more expensive that it actually is. Totally underrated!

I got the EDP strength in this.
It’s a beautiful scent, opens with Yuzu, Orange, and Mint spiced with Cardamon. The heart joins in with light Green notes, Nutmeg, and Cinnamon. A Jasmine Floral note balances the fragrance, bringing it to yet another level. There is a little bit of sweetness in Rykiel Homme as a result of a light Vanilla mixed into the Floral. The first dry down level is Fir resin and Musk, later joined by a base of Sandalwood, Cedarwood, and light Amber on the bottom-most level. The EDP really has staying power, stretching each note out to it’s maximum.
Average sillage on me, even with a heavier application. In the EDP all the levels have a respectable longevity. This is an every day scent for me, but it can also be used as a ‘night’ cologne. The Musk is a very sexy musk, not cloying. The Conifer note blends very well into the Musk, and props it up.
    I love it!
