Description

Fath’s Essentials, the Collection of Jacques Fath perfumes continues to expand. The first four fragrances were made in collaboration with perfumer Cécile Zarokian. She rehabilitated the mythical Green Water and created three other fragrances, with a complementary and unique vision. The second part of the collection, four new fragrances with a more feminine direction are presented in preview during Esxence at Milano. The perfumer is Luca Maffei. For this Collection, the main theme translated is “la Joie de Vivre” that Jacques Fath expressed in his creations and during his life. To achieve the goals requested by the brand, the perfumer, Luca Maffei, selected innovative raw materials and noble ingredients to match with the violet, pink, red and gold colors chosen by designer Rania Naim to infuse the femininity of the collection. “The Italian name of this fragrance is a hint to the perfumer’s origins. With its distinctive plum color, Rosso Epicureo celebrates ‘la joie de vivre”, it is a way of living, a state of mind, an “Epicurean philosophy “conveyed by this lively fragrance.” – a note from the brand.

Rosso Epicureo was launched in 2017.

In the beginning, this reminds me of a sweet rosé wine on a sunny afternoon. It opens with a gentle blast of pepper but quickly begins to shift and morph into a plum so realistic you can practically track the stages of it ripening. Unfortunately, or fortunately for some, the heady swoon of tuberose absolute and jasmine continues to build until it craters all else like an atom bomb. In the 2+ hour mark some of the more delicate fruits and sweetness emerge again, but it’s certainly a wild ride to get there.
