I was originally attracted to this brand -REN- and thus this perfume because of this:-
“REN is free from synthetic fragrance, mineral oil, petrolatum, sulfate detergents, synthetic colours, animal ingredients and parabens. In addition, REN products do not contain potential irritants including: glycols and diglycols (such as propylene glycol), PEG’s, PPGs, urea, D.E.A, T.E.A, PABA and other synthetic sunscreens, aliphatic alcohols/hydrocarbons, phthalates, fumarates, amines, alkanolamines, synthetic AHAs/BHAs, polyacrylamide, metacrylate, elastomer, poloxamer, styrene, vinyl, polyquaternium, synthetic chelating agents, nylon, nitriles, nitrates, nitrosamine releasers, bromates, fluor, aluminum and alumina et al.”
Lucky me it was a lovely blind buy !
‘Sexy-Spicy English Rose’ describes this frag for sure. It doesn’t have an oriental feel, more like British! (Yep, I’m Influenced by ‘Yardley’ and supposedly nostalgic, occidental scents.)
It’s not spicy in a way that tickles your nose; the spices are just prominent all the way, from the opening to the drydown.
Since it doesn’t resemble any ‘rosey’ perfume out there as far as I know, this frag makes for a unique signature scent. Though It’s not for everyone; I made my sister smell it and she found it repugnant !
Did I mention how simply elegant and well proportioned the bottle is? It becomes cylindricallly thinner and thinner all the way from the top to the bottom in such a way that holding it is very comfortable and convenient.

I’d have to say this is my favorite “Rose” right now, however rose is not the most present note I smell here. Bare with me, I’m new to the proper descriptive words here (learning and loving the fragrant journey here on Fragrantica though.) I get the Osmanthus, something woody and green and then the rose hits. The dry down is delicate on me, has something “Gypsy” and unique to it, like a very fragrant, spicey and a bit powdery dried red rose or even a wonderful smelling pomander. A little bit fantasy, a little bit romantic and day-dreamy. I am loving it and looking forward to trying more from REN
