Description

Sugared apples were inspiration for the latest collection of fragrances by Donna Karan, who is taking us back to our childhood with these editions, while playing with colours and attracting us with scents of sweet caramel, ripe raspberries and juicy currant.

Caramel, raspberries and currant are the main theme of DKNY Delicious Candy Apples, which can be expected on the market in February 2010. The fun collection is available in limited number, in red, violet and green flacons (50 ml EDP each).

Ripe Raspberry is the second fragrance of the collection, created of ripe, juicy raspberries dipped in lime and fresh apples icing. Subtle fruity notes are surrounded with peony, magnolia and beautiful sweet notes, while a base is built around coke. The nose behind this fragrance is Calice Becker.

Message me if you have this fragrance and want to sell or swap it! Dying to try it!

This was a blind buy and i was terribly disappointed. This smelled like soap on my skin. I was about to toss it out, but my mom wanted it. Would definitely not buy again.

I bought this because I thought the notes looked so unique and interesting–Coke, lime, raspberry, candy–what could go wrong?
    A lot, it turns out.
This was one-dimensional–a heavy, sweetish smell with no nuances whatsoever. It gave me a headache within minutes.
I think the idea of this fragrance was a good one, but in practice, it just doesn’t work.

Caramel is my favorite note, and Coke-Cola is a note?! Yes please! However, I just get a slightly sweet floral with this perfume. So disappointing. No fruit at all. If I use my imagination, I can sort of smell the Coke. I am a gourmand lover, the sweeter the better- and this is just ok. I am dying to try the Caramel Apple DKNY… but I’m not sure it will be what I like. I live in the middle of nowhere and don’t have any dept stores or malls to go to. 🙁

bought this finally for $24.00 off ebay, get em there cheap while you can! the red candy apple bottle and the coca-cola note caught my attention considering I enjoy soda pop/like scents! when this comes in the mail I will make sure I review this! I hope I enjoy this! 24.00 is a pretty good deal!
I got this today! This one is highly recommended for those who like fresh fruit florals 🙂 this perfume is rather pleasant and I like it a lot.
At first spray it smells like a citrus berry soap and gives you a clean “straight out of the shower feeling” then begins to dry down into a noticeable raspberry coca cola beverage (that flavor exists! I tried it)
So Dkny ripe raspberry is pretty much taking a shower with a berry citrus soap then having a cool and refreshing raspberry coca cola with ice after you get out

I’m with Coco76 on this one. My thoughts exactly. Been wanting so long to get my hands on this, and now I have, so very disappointed. 🙁 Peony, peony and more peony!

I think the cola note is very prominent when first sprayed then the raspberry takes over nicely. combined with the sweet magnolia and peony flowers it makes for quite the sweet scent. but yet, it dries down soft and is very wearable even in warmer weather. it’s floating like a light feather around me and it’s not sickening or heavy. a very nice gourmand fragrance with a gorgeous unique bottle.

I love this perfume, it’s cool and suitable for summer. the smell of green apple makes it special. It’s so girly and lovely

I think the reviews oversold this to me. I was so excited about a coca cola, fruity, and floral scent. To be fair, Candy Apples Ripe Raspberry is that. It’s a very light and definitely sweet scent. It’s just too fleeting for me. I now understand what other commenters mean when they describe something as being too “watery”. If I spray it on my skin, I have to really chase it in order to smell it, and within 15 minutes, it’s almost impossible to find. On my clothes, it’s also “shy”, which is a surprise, as fabrics hold scents more effectively than skin. It just kind of crouches very close to my shirt, trying to blend in like a socially awkward chameleon. It’s a very pretty scent, when you can smell it (the 1st 3 minutes after spritzing), but that’s just not often enough for me to buy DKNY CA RR.

I got this two years ago in the tax-free, an impulse buy, and I’ve hardly used it. It opens very sweet – too sweet for my liking. Although the sweetness fades, it never fades completely. All the other notes are given a sugary coating. It is true to the name of the series in which it is included in that sense.
I like it once it dries down to the Coca-Cola, but that takes quite some time.

Guess it has to be really hot (outside) for this perfume to shine in all his majesty, I get coke and lime now, back in winter I got only sweets and flowers, hoped for coca cola to pop out, but no… I was slightly dissapointed back then (should I mention – it was bought blindly?)… But now I like it! Perfect for summer.

This is a very fresh sweet scent which opens with a strong scent of red apple and cola, then fresh floral notes kick in, particularly magnolia. The cola note smells more like haribo cola bottles than coca cola. A lot lighter than expected and generally a very nice everyday scent. I really like the bottle design.

You got to love prominent sugary sweet notes and coca cola scent to enjoy this. At first I was intrigued by the coca-cola note. I do like the fragrance and the idea of coca-cola. I think to me later it became a bit too fizzy and sweet. Though I recommend you try this. It’s very hard to find. The bottle is gorgeous.

The more I smell it, the more I fallen in love in this fragrance.
Last night I was in a party, and I put this parfume on. But in the party I can’t feel my scent, becous every second girl smelt Pink Sugar… (I don’t hate PS but it was too much)
I can’t belive girls don’t have personality to choose better original scents. (like this)
But the main point: Ripe raspberries has a very characteristic line. For me it’s fresh and sweet at the same time. At first I said „Yeh It’s Coca-Cola, I like it”. And when I wearing it „It’s like Cherry-Coke and more Cherry and something very fresh what feels like – when you’re in a vacation on the beach – but not in a very hot day.” So, the observations: it’s original, extraordinary, special, youthful and you can wear it in all season.
One more comment, I think is’t not a girly pinky sweet fragrance. Is’t for a strong woman… (sorry for my poor english). I imagineing a woman who is wearing a sexy black Leather Motorcycle Suit on a speed motorbike or a girl who is wearing jeans and black leather jacket.

I’m searching for crazy coca-cola scent for so long. Some of you say here that this one doesn’t smell like it, some say it does. Can someone name me true cola scents, please?

  16. :

OMG! Why everyone feel coca-cola in there? I don’t feel it at all((((
Maybe my nose is playing tricks on this scent, but everything I feel in this parfume is just old old lipstick.

The opening reminds me a bit of Insolence but this one is softer. As it dries down, the smell becomes really sweet but delicate. I like this one except for its longevity. It only stays for one hour on my wrist. This is not a very special smell, but is wearable and feminine. Recommended summer and is suitable for ladies under 30.

Im wearing this right now but to be honest the coke comes across more as a top note than the base notes in my opinion…i smell that soon as its sprayed on..i hope they bring this back i like it.

Quite lovely – opens with a strong blast of raspberries and apples – then moves on with a brief appearance of the coca cola – but to be honest I do find this note a tad too weak compared to the strength of the opening and for me it doesn’t last long enough! Then the peony and magnolia shine through but not in a great strength. Not too much silage or longevity – I much prefer the candy apples version as it has more strength and a better balance to it.
I was questioning the role of coca cola in this perfume as it doesn’t really seem to give too much to the overall creation. I opened a coke just to compare – really and truly it is just caramel by another name according to my nose. Obviously the coke itself has a far stronger scent and I do think this should have been worked on as I found this to be quite a let down after the strong opening – it should have been more of a feature not less!

makes me remember summers of running through sprinklers and catching lightening bugs! definitely smell the cola, then it dried down to this gorgeous lime and raspberry finish, with a hint of magnolia, not overdone floral. it truly is delicious.

i must have gotten a bad bottle.the reviews here all say coca cola and sweet as notes but all i got was a cheap peony and magnolia scent.i am horribly disappointed as i was truly looking forward to a sweet retro scent.i am a big fan of be delicious so this is a surprise to me.
after a few hours of airing out it is not so bad.it turns into a light sweet floral scent.i still dislike it but not as much.

    Coca cola raspberry candies!!
Just for fun, and just for me. Most of my scents are not this sweet, but I love it! Very warm, sweet and comforting, and makes me feel like a kid.
Reminds me of the smell at Dison’s family corner store in the 70’s, with the wooden floors, and it smelled so sweet, like candies and slurpees and summer!
I also like to layer this over Youth Dew bath oil; makes it perrrrfect!
I always wear Dr. Pepper & Cherry Coke lip smackers at home around the house (have done this for 32 years now), and this is the perfect accompaniment.
    Makes me happy.

First, you put a drop of Estee Lauder’s Youth Dew BATH OIL, and then you spray this sweet one over top! Makes it less sweet, much deeper and more complex. Both have that cola smell, and I LOVE the added incense!

I saw the notes for this and having smelled this in real life all I can say is BoulSh*t. Coca-cola? caramel? where? It smells like apples but this time, like the bottle design suggests RED delicious apples as oppose to the granny smith apples of the original scent. One note. that’s it. cheap, gross and for no one.

I bought all 3 of the Candy Apples collection, and I wore each one, one day after the next. This is the one I wore last, and it is by far my favorite out of the three. I was actually slightly disappointed by the other 2, being that they smelled a little synthetic to me. But this one, WOW, the second I sprayed it on I thought, “Ooohh this is nice!”. Im a true lover of sweet scents, but this one is much different than I expected! It is sweet and fresh in the beginning, and then ends with a warm cherry-cola smell that is to die for. Anyone that is looking for a sweet smell that diverts from the normal “sweet fruit” smell, you definitely need to give this a try!!!

I got this one today and i knew i would adore it but it let me down, it is to sweet for my taste and i didnt like the cola in it, ill have to pass this one on…

I really love this cute red apple, it’s so fresh and feminine at the same time. I also have the other apples (Be Delicious, Red delicious and Be delicious fresh blossom) in my collection, but this one is very special.
I love the Coca-Cola basenote in combination with sweet peony. If you’re looking for fun and you like the other apples, try this one, but I’m telling you, it’s really sweet.

like gigeletta said… like summer love: sweet, childish, girly and forgetable.

I’ve always preferred Red Delicious over Be Delicious, so it was natural for me to be intrigued enough to try DKNY Ripe Raspberry.
Straight away I likened this fragrance to cherry cola. It has a wonderful fizzy, sugary and tasty quality. This is by far my favourite out of the Candy Apples range.
It’s the fizziness that makes me like this fragrance. The same kind of intriguing fizziness as I found in YSL’s Yvresse. I think that creating a perfume that tends to smell very much like soda is not as off-putting as it sounds. It’s unique and likable in lots of different ways.
Once again, this fragrance is aimed at a younger crowd, however I would enjoy wearing this every now and then, especially when I want to get in touch with my somewhat childish side.
While not a particularly complex scent, the blend of cola, raspberry, litchi and sugar is pleasant and satisfying. This fragrance has a definite sense of playfulness. While not a real gourmand, it has some edible qualities.
DKNY Ripe Raspberry, is surprisingly not as synthetic as I expected it to be. It’s lasting power is good, but not great and the sillage is fairly average. But all in all, it’s a nice, youthful scent. An entertaining take on the original Red Delicious.

ok am i the only one who is slightly disturbed by the idea of coke in my perfume? not that ive smelled it but please……!!
i think dkny has wondered off the plot a little here who ever voted this as a classic… well ill have to smell and judge but doubt that a fragrance with coke can be called classic just IMO

This actually smells like the red apples you get from the fairground. Sweet and fruity. Yummy!

  38. :

    4 out of 5

This one is a cute, fizzy scent. The cola note tones the sweetness down. Apple and peony were most prominent and I couldnt really smell the raspberry that well (and I wanted too!). It is also very light, I found Caramel Apple to be much stronger. Overall, I think it is quite nice floral fruity and its cola accent makes it original. The longevity is not that great and the scent is a bit shallow, but it would make a nice summer scent.

I tried it this early morning, on a store, and I can still feel it on my wrist, very nice. I must say I love floral fruity perfumes, I’m looking for the best one for me.
In winter I use JLO Glow after dark.

Similar to the original, but sweeter and without the leather note that was so noticable in the first one. It could have been more candy-like, but if you don’t have the original DKNY Red I suggest buying this one, it’s great for everyday wear, fresh and it will cheer you up. Nothing fancy, but nice. Out of the three Candy Apples, my friend liked this one the best.

I was sooo looking forward to this one. The description sounds so delicious…what a dissapointment :((
On me it smells exactely like the original Be Delicious with lots of peony.

  42. :

Of the 3 in the Delicious Candy Apple series, this one is by far my favorite. I like the other 2 as well, but because this has that coke note in it, that’s what wins me over, as I had been looking & looking for a scent that had coke in it. I clearly smell it in here, from the first moment when I spray it. And add some raspberry, apple, and other sweet notes, I’m won over. I don’t get much lime from here, and that’s a good thing seeing as I’m not a big fan of lemon/lime.
This is such a carefree, fun-loving, casual fragrance, I can’t help not to like it. Happiness in a bottle is what I call it. I rate it a 9/10.

I was SOO looking forward to this one, I am a coca cola ADDICT…just like markRep the cola was the top note for me…it smelled exactly as if I had just popped open a can. I was pretty excited…and then I got a tiny bit of apple and raspberry…NO magnolia whatsoever (a shame) NO lime for me either..and past the first 30 seconds I got what I can only describe as SHRIEKING peony like a big smack in the face…..SOOO let down by this one.

  44. :

    3 out of 5

Well, DKNY Ripe Raspberry is an attractive fragrance, but I was hoping for more. The opening is lime, raspberry, and apple. 20 minutes into wearing I can pick up the peony, and it’s a little too much peony in my opinion.
I have to agree with markRep, the cola should have been stronger and the lime perhaps not so pronounced. The raspberry and apple are there in the right amount, and I think a little more musk and some vanilla should have been added. I’ll finish my bottle but won’t repurchase. I can say that it is somewhat unique smelling and I hope more fragrances use cola in the future. I rate it 6 out of 10.
