This is a “classy” almond-vanilla perfume, despite detecting a happy bubble-gum/ doll-head undertone from orange blossom (or neroli).
It’s so smooth, crowd pleasing, and superb for special occasions. Sweetness is well-balanced in the blend. I can detect a slight benzoin note in there, but not to the level that makes this perfume smoky in anyway. Simple and minimalist, but glamorous and charming.

Almost perfect. If this had Tuberose/Jonquil in it. I think it’d be orgasmic.

I find this to be a light, low sillage fragrance characterised by sweetness and fruity undertones. I have to sniff wishfully to detect the almond notes. It’s very nice though, and definitely wearable.
I know what people mean by the similarity to Ellie Saab Eau Couture, but it’s a distant connection. Also Essenza is far softer – a skin scent on me.

    unsrsly–
I don’t think Essenza is like HP, but Cavalli Gold for Her had some similarities to HP in my opinion. 🙂
Essenza smells like Gold mixed with the original RCavalli EDP to my nose.

Owning both I agree with Musky4, different vibes for those perfumes..Essenza is rich and balsamic, the Elie Saab more clean and daytime wear ..

@Betsywoolbright – The almond note in Elie Saab L’Eau Couture is a green almond, whereas Essenza has a bitter almond note. I don’t personally find the perfumes very similar.

Same notes as Elie Saab Le parfum l’eau couture. Anyone else smell both, and think they’re similar?

I’ve been hunting for this blind buy since the page/notes came out. I’m a gourmand lover– the sweeter the better. I don’t really love RC EDP- I don’t get a very gourmand scent with that- not very vanilla/sweet. But I have it, and wear it from time to time. Sometimes I get the urge for sweet syrupy florals.
I still had to have this. Intense vanilla, nutty notes… yes please!
So I found it at Beauty Spin and went for it.
Well… I like it. It’s def stronger, thicker, and “darker” than the RC EDP. But very very similar. I do like this more. But rather disappointed at the same time…
I have Gold for Her, and I can see the resemblance. I like Gold very much, but it had to grow on me. I also have Nero, which is almost too woody for me.
This is pretty much Gold mixed with the EDP. But I like it enough to be happy with my buy. 🙂
There is NO similarity to Elie Saab L’eau Couture. I have both. Essenza is thick and syrupy like RC EDP- balsamic and rich, floral and boozy. Elie Saab L’eau Couture is a light airy feminine vanilla GRASS. I’m a bit disturbed that people may think they are alike because of the notes. Not even close. 🙁

Lito, your reviews are my Bible!
We have very similar tastes, so I have been training my collection largely following your posts.
Purchased at SEPHORA France thank you, and I must say that the discovery has been glorious. E s a balsamic odor that has a lot of class. It leaves no one indifferent and is so distinguished that even responsible for a major chain of perfume stores in my city I wonder the other day while buying makeup which was that amazing smell.
    Does not fail !

Roberto Cavalli ESSENZA has me absolutely surprised.
That so dramatically provocative opening of the hand of the bitter almond note… A creamy almond finely accompanied by that so sublime touch of wood, which I so aptly away from the concept of “the almond marzipan type” regular. The sweetness comes propitiated by the fusion of its opening, with the flower of orange blossom and the vanilla so different (perhaps the touch of dried fruits). Together cause that perception of “heat and sweetness” in this composition. It maintains a balance between the ferocity and sophistication at all times, leaving a very characteristic trace. Despite the notes in common with l’eau Elie Saab Couture, they are completely different scents. Essenza has depth and creaminess that gives wood and perhaps reminiscent of dried fruit. It is dense and voluptuous. Certainly it is a perfume that does not go unnoticed, with incredible durability and that will remove…

I’m totally enchanted by this scent! I tested it a few hours ago and my hand still smells amazing… The scent is rich, opulent but not suffocating. It’s a perfect yellow-floral scent, reminds me of evening primrose, black locust, honeysuckle, linden blossom and all the best yellow flowers possible! But most of all evening primrose. Gorgeus! Yes, there is some vanilla too, and very, VERY delicate honey note, nuts maybe as well but I haven’t noticed. Anyway, it’s a pearl in the world of repetitive sweet-gourmand scents. It’s also sweet and warm an intense but it’s one of its kind. Adorable!

Roberto Cavalli Eau de Parfum plus more (foody) Vanilla, less Orange Blossom and a bit of spiciness from the Bitter Almond. There is also a Praline Accord which makes it even more sweet.
I miss Woods, Musk or at least Tonka Bean to balance all the Christmas Cake sweetness out.
ESSENZA lacks the sexy Bubblegum feeling of the Eau de Parfum and the dark, mysterious effect of Diors Addict.
Best for Gourmand lovers with a passion for spicy scents.

Can any of you who have purchased this fragrance please post as to where you found it? I can’t find it anywhere online. I’m in the U.S. Thank you.

Let me start by saying that I already consider Roberto Cavalli EDP to be perfection and was very eager to see how this one compared… Well luckily, Essenza does not disappoint. To me, a perfume described as an ‘essence’ should resemble the original fragrance whilst being a deeper, more concentrated, or stronger version of it. In that respect Essenza completely lives up to expectations. In fact, I find it amazing, given that the two perfumes apparently only share two notes (orange blossom and vanilla), just how similar they are. In Essenza, bitter almond takes the place of pink pepper, and the base notes are slimmed down to a very warm and creamy vanilla. Compared to Roberto Cavalli EDP, Essenza is richer from the start and lasts longer on me. Very smooth and not too loud, the dry-down is just as lovely as with the EDP. Summer was probably not the best time to test this, but even so, it wore very well and would be a delight to wear in the cooler months I’m sure. In my opinion (and I could be wrong), anyone who loves Roberto Cavalli EDP is surely bound to love Essenza. As to which one is better, well, I really couldn’t choose between them. Essenza exudes quality and class. Roberto Cavalli EDP is perhaps a little sexier in a flirtatious sort of way, whereas Essenza is more luxurious and sultry. Take your pick! Seriously, a beautiful fragrance very well done.

Just received my bottle, and I love it! I am a big fan of Roberto Cavalli, their fragrances are distinctive, with character, and depth…Essenza is a beautiful scent, the vibe is overall floral, with a smooth orange blossom, and a shy almond undertone, , and I don’t find it similar to Elie Saab Eau Couture, which has a clean and bright almondish vibe, and is powdery…Essenza is one notch above in character, and not powdery…it opens up nicely on the skin, warms up, I detect the nutty undertone, but it isn’t like a gourmand scent, it isn’t sweet per se, nor is it sharp.., it has a sweetness from the orange blossom, very natural smelling, and balsamic also, which gives it a spicy edge.
It is enveloping, sensuous, feminine, and voluptuous .Like a cashmere shawl, not overdone, not underdone, just perfect, with a sweetness in the drydown..so nice!!
It stays nicely on the skin, it isn’t a sillage monster, but it has longevity.
    Great creation !!
